Just wanted to say Scott, the service manager save us. Our Acura's alternator failed during our road trip in 46c heat. We barely crawled into the dealership. Scott took the time to help troubleshoot, drove us to Lordco nearby to pick up the part and managed to squeeze us in for a service. Without him, we would have been left scrambling to get our car fixed to continue our trip. River City Nissan is lucky to have a guy like Scott who went the extra mile. You are a LEGEND.

Extremely aggressive sales - Beware I received a text message from Darrick about selling my car and getting it assessed. I was told assessment was 15-20 mins. I agreed and went to the dealership. The sales team was very aggressive and wanted me to agree to sell my car without any offer or trade. "Are you okay with selling it to us today?" They asked this question three times. I told them I am only here because they were inquiring about my car and they were interested. I figured they would make a fair offer. They took my information, keys and were going to do a test drive. After 20 mins with my car still in the lot, I told them I have better things to do than wait. They finally came back with an offer. For them to buy me out of my financing and take my car, I would be out $1500. There is no incentive for me to sell my car. They contacted me and wanted me to sell. It was a good learning experience and I will never step foot in that dealership again. Nothing seems sincere about the way they handled this situation.

I’m not one to leave negative reviews but I just spent 3 1/2 hours of my day sitting and waiting for my car and all that needed to be fixed was the back camera. this was the second visit for the same problem and I would think that they just could’ve told me it was gonna take that long or offered me a courtesy car right away. instead I told them I would go and kill some time and I killed two hours and came back and it still wasn’t ready.?only then did they offer me the courtesy car because I told them I might faint if I didn’t get something to eat. Not only that but I bought a used car off of these guys and it took literally, nonstop me texting with the salesman practically every week, it took three months for them to get me the spare key so I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I’m really not happy. Sorry.

Kevin Skinner is the sleaziest sales person I have ever met in my life! He flat out lied to me. I made a 5 hour drive from the U.S. to come and look at a truck. I spoke with Kevin a few days prior to coming to Kamloops and he assured me that there was nothing wrong with the truck. I open the coolant cap and it is full of oil, for a second there I thought I was looking inside the engine. This cannot happen overnight and he must have known about this issue. Once I told him what I found he acted as if he had no idea. Stay away from this place!!!

I bought my Nissan Sentra brand new from River City Nissan few years ago and it has been one of the best purchases and experience for me. Customer service is top notch - friendly, helpful and personable. Today I went for seasonal tire change and to replace my breaks. I had my breaks replaced elsewhere last time and they used cheap parts, so I learned my lesson and went back to the most trusted mechanics I know - at the Nissan dealership. Jamie’s smiley face at the service reception is always a pleasure to see. My car was serviced by Elwood Delaney and he is one of the best mechanics I’ve had. He inspected my tires before I left to make sure that I would be safe this winter. Once he did the multi point inspection he reminded me that I had a broken fog light too. I had totally forgotten about this and eventually decided to go ahead and change that too since they had one in stock anyway. And what to say about the breaks!!! I am thrilled to have crisp new breaks! My car is not shaking anymore. Elwood followed up with me to ask about the breaks and how they are. Yes, they are perfect! The parts they use at the dealership are high quality as I’ve changed my breaks there before. All in all, I will not go anywhere else to service my car but at the dealership. Peace of mind, quality of parts, amazing service, great people.

Fantastic service - passing through on our way to Vancouver from Calgary & the tire pressure light was lit. The pressure senders had not been reset by the Calgary dealer when we changed the winter tires for the summer tires. River City service staff was fantastic and reset the sensors even though it required a non-standard tool and took almost an hour. This great service and they refused to charge us for their help. If we lived in the area River City Nissan would be our dealer. Five stars for a great group of people.

Awful service, unfortunately got problem with my Nissan Altima transmission, then I asked for the service in River City Nissan, they did all transmission inspection and stated that it broke down (what is common problem for this CVT transmission) and my car needs a new transmission. Then, they unfairly declined the warranty service without any explanations. I am totally unsatisfied with their work, never recommend to visit it.

I went to visit a couple of other dealerships in the neighborhood, and after dealing with disinterested or absent salespeople, had the good fortune to meet and work with Carlton at River City Nissan. He handled my bad driving almost killing us both with aplomb and good humour, and didn’t bat an eye at multiple test drives and innumerable questions. If there were 6 stars they would easily get them. Engine light came on and the AWD system shutdown just as I got to Town. Showed up on the doorstep without an appointment during busy tire change season. The service writer set the expectation that it might be a couple hours before a tech could look at it. They got me comfortable in a very nice lounge area that had hit and cold drinks and plug-ins for about every phone made. Lots of power and places to to set up your laptop and was settled in for the long haul. About 15 minutes later I saw my car roll into the shop area as they have a viewing area of the shop area. Long and short of the story is in less than an hour they had me sorted out and on the road again. A reasonable expectation was set at the beginning of our interaction and then exceeded. It is pretty clear why this is such a busy service department. If they treat out of towners this good I can only imagine how much the locals can count on them and I met several of them in my shirt time there and they were all smiling.

The service is quick, courteous, and convenient; however, My computer on my car was showing low tire pressure. They changed to my snow tires but car still says low air because they did not even address this on my summer tires. I thought this should be part of the service. What if there is a hole in the tire, and I wont know this until Spring. Also, I feel they should have told me there is no shuttle on Saturday so I could have made arrangements. I was under the assumption if you bought your snow tires at Nissan they change then for free. Today, they just said "oh we dont do that anymore' okay.....should have mentioned this prior to service.

Not super happy with the customer service today. My car was in for an oil change. They gave me a 12:30 pick up time. I showed up at 1:00. Once he figured out where my car was, he told me to take a seat and that it would be out of the wash bay in 5 minutes and he would call on me. 25 minutes later I had to go ask again about my car. No explanations or apologies as to why I had to hang out for almost another 30 minutes, just took my money and sent me on my way.

Paid $300 to get my car towed down to Nissan because it kept shutting off. Mechanic looked at it and verbally and on paper guaranteed me the alternator was the problem. Paid $1400 to fix the alternator and the car shut off again an hour after leaving Nissan. Called the mechanic and he didn’t seem too concerned and said he would work on it next week if I got it towed down there. So now my car is sitting in a gas station parking lot and I’m down $1400 for nothing.

10 years ago I purchased a Nissan from this company and to this day they will not leave me alone. I haven't had one for years and will never own another Nissan because of River City. I continue to get their junk mail and all requests I have made to stop have been ignored. Their so called "Service" is a joke. They care nothing about their customers and their lack of respect is the reason I sold my Nissan. The original purchase was a total run around and they kept me waiting for hours. At the time I was recovering from a broken back and neck and had asked they have everything ready when I arrived so I could leave as soon as possible. When I got there, NOTHING was ready and the person I had dealt with, wasn't even there. 3 hours it took to get me on the road and they haven't left me alone since.

They chose not to honour the agreement and said they changed their policy and no longer switch them for free (which is why I bought the tires there, and they didn’t even change them once for free as promised). I am from Ontario my daughter teaches full time in a remote community 8 hrs away from Kamloops. Being a father and not being able to have hands on to help his daughter is a struggle. My daughter needed a vehicle that she could rely on in the interior. We shopped via the internet where we found River City. My daughter had phoned other dealerships to get info on used cars. It was not until she contacted Derrick at this dealership that even on the phone felt good. The entire experience was first class. Even from the other side of Canada my daughter worked through all the details with great and informative advice from the dealer.. Hell they even put her up in a hotel with a meal over night so she could drive back the next day.The trade in value we felt could have been higher is my only poor comment. I am so pleased with the new Titan XD Platinum Reserve Diesel I just bought. I was considering the Ford Limited, but when I got a chance to see this beauty there was NO CONTEST! It is loaded with all the bells & whistles you could ever want. You would think you were driving a top of the line BMW or a LEXUS. It has all the luxury of a full size Range Rover HSE - but with way more room in the front and back seats, and it has massive pulling power because it's got that wild crazy V8 Cummins Diesel with 555 ft pounds of torque. For the price, there is nothing that touches this. Heck, there's nothing at any price that touches this as far as I am concerned...I love it! The other thing I have to say is that Rick Proctor is an amazing sales person because he is totally NOT the sales stereotype - but rather he listens, and he cares, and he follows up. You can't fake that. I took a long time to make my decision, but Rick never pushed me. Instead, he provided enormous value and help. He's outstanding the way he does business. I also want to heap praise on Danielle who is the business manager. She's very good at what she does + very helpful in getting me to understand all my different extended warranty options (I ended up buying an extra 7 years / 160,000 km bumper to bumper). Finally, I was blown away by Sean Turner the owner. You'd never know that he was the big cheese there. That's because he's humble, helpful and he really seems to have a ton of fun. I suppose that's the big thing that impressed me: how everybody was so helpful & polite and seemed to be a big family. This is one company that knows how to treat customers. Thanks you guys!

I assume it was the person who washed the outside of my car who enterd in and muddied my spotless mats. A cardboard or plastic is usually used.
