Trustworthy and reliable service is paramount at Dumont Tirecraft. I have piece of mind when Jason and his staff repair my truck. My truck broke down at Sooke McDonalds drive thru. I dropped off my truck key to Lexi, gave quick instruction to her, and I ran off to an appointment. When I received my truck back, starter was replaced. I requested a new alternator, even though it was still working, but was over 10 years old. Jason honoured my request. I forgot to mention to Lexi there drivetrain problems, and Jason took care of replacing the U joints. I had an expensive drumset in the truck box (canopy) and Jason told me they parked the truck inside their facility every night. That was awesome piece of mind!! I was charged so super fairly, I thought they deserved more. I bought them a cake from the Vienna Bakery :)

Apparently my review will mean nothing, as said by the owner. But I would appreciate if you take to time to read this. I first had my vehicle towed to dumont tire after I found that my engine was knocking due to lack of oil. I did this even after hearing bad things about the shop. There were a few other minor things that needed to fixed as well. I was told that the mechanic had the engine running and they diagnosed the knock. they came to the conclusion it would need a ew motor. I agreed and we got a engine on its way. The first issue I ran into was the price. 1500$ for and engine and they wanted the core. I agreed to the price as it was compression tested and seemed okay. End of the month comes around and my car hasn't even been on the shop. I get the old "your car wasn't priority", even though it was there for a month and there could have been time alloted. 1 week later.. still nothing, hasn't even seen the inside of the shop.. Another week and it "getting there". Apparently they ran into some issues that no other miata mechanic has, and has extended the time another week? Once I finally get the car it'd not even good. Smells of oil terribly, stalls out when reversing, and the throwout bearing is on its way out. I personally think you'd be able to hear the annoyingly loud chirp that is associated the the throwout bearing going. But this apparently was an oversight. Questionable as the engine was out of the car and they had ample opportunity to diagnose the issue before. When I went to talk to the owner about the clutch he told me that's not how it was when it arrived. The throwout bearing went while the car wasn't even running? Apparently the owner felt put off when I questioned him about the clutch and other issues. Got very defensive and really had no good reasoning. I felt as though I've been ripped off and scammed. I don't wish to try and make things right as there are far more superior shops out there. I will be reminding people daily of the garbage my car and I had to go through. Thanks Jason!! p.s. this is my second review as I already gave them a chance. maybe this time the review will be taken the right away and won't be defended with personal jests.

What an experience, a 20 something kid tells me he won't fix the tire because it is too dangerous. Go to another shop and a 40-year-old who has been in business for 20 years just fixes it. I drive a truck that rarely goes over 80km/hr

Had a very minor problem and went to the owner Jason and he seems like a very reasonable guy that will fix any issue if you just talk to him. He sorted my minor issue out quickly. I was looking through the reviews here and I don't usually say things like this, but being a mechanic myself in the past I've read a few pretty funny things on here. I see a review here where the guy claims that a tire couldn't be repaired cuz it was too old and dangerous and then you took it to another shop ? after getting expert advice from a tire store telling you that the tire is probably unsafe? Of course some backyard cheap shop will fix your tire for you and take a risk with your life. But a professional tire shop can't take that kind of risk. They could sell you a very inexpensive good quality used tire though if you asked. And the guy posting about your engine replacement. I found your long rant pretty comical actually. Because I've been a mechanic. Just because they replaced your motor doesn't mean they touched a single other system or part on your vehicle. You can't expect a shop to replace your motor as cheap as possible for you and then somehow magically the rest of your vehicle is going to be restored to new condition. Perhaps you should have asked the shop to replace your throw out bearing if it really needed replacing. I'm sure they took it for a test drive and if it's squeaked a little bit it's pretty easy to assume that it did that before you brought it in. They're not going to fix every squeak and worn out part on your vehicle. Not unless you want to pay more, and from what I've heard from an outside Source the real problem was you didn't have enough money to pay for the vehicle and Jason the owner had to hold on to your vehicle for a couple of days until you could pay for it. And you were upset about that. It's a small town and people hear things. If I did a $1,500 repair to a vehicle and then the owner came to me and said I don't have any money I would have done the same thing. So anyway just thought I'd mention that I found some of the reviews here that are one star reviews quite comical. Especially the guy claiming that your tire was leaking air before you even got out the door? Sure that happened. If it did you would have turned around and gone back into the shop and complained and got them to fix it I would imagine. Not drove away. The reason I find these things funny is because I had a minor problem and went to the owner Jason and he fixed me up right away so..... 5 out of 5 for a customer support products and services.

Had an appointment for an oil change first thing in the morning. Came back after an hour and my car hadn't even been moved. No apologies , acknowledgement or discount and eventually took 2 hours and 20 minutes for an oil change. Also nobody was wearing masks which is pretty disrespectful to the clients coming in and wearing masks. Don't see what makes them so special that they shouldn't have to abide by a health mandate that everyone else has to cope with. Will not be going back.

Great place. On several occasions they've repaired my issues and never once tried to exaggerate or up-sell me. Even when they had the opportunity. For example, my wife had a tire blow out and I was worried about damage to the rim. It turned out to be fine, and they said I only needed a new tire. It was the perfect opportunity for a lesser garage to lie about damage and sell me a whole new wheel. Dumont will not take advantage of you, they will help you in the most cost effective way and not try to rip you off. I'd ignore that other reviewer that's spamming the 1 star reviews under multiple fake names.

What amazing service! Every person I dealt with was lovely, both on the phone and in person. They even rushed fixing my tire because I wasn't feeling really well! They also repaired it for free even though I had bought the tires at a location in Calgary. And I didn't ask, when they realized i had their brand of tires they told me there was no charge! They stand by their product and they provide excellent service, what more can you ask for?

Flat Tire. Thought I had a flat tire. Pulled into Dumont Tire. What service! I was just out of the car and a fellow asked me how he could help. He offered to check all tires and see what the problem was. He checked all tires, fill air (Pressure was low) and said for me to check the pressure next morning. When it comes to tires and super service it's Dumont for me.

poorly done.. vehicle was towed in with no start. they were told it was going to Calgary. 300 plus dollars and she was told good to go.. vehicle made it to the next tow truck on the way to the ferry..was towed into another shop. wide open coolant valve was found motor overheated and blew something. over 3000 dollar estimate to repair...all over a shop that didnt check oil and water before they tried to start an unknown motor... shameful.

They fixed our vehicle quickly and at a far better price than we were expecting and were very friendly every time we called for an update.
