We had a flat on the Saturday of a long weekend. They were the only place open over the weekend so we threw ourselves at their mercy. Despite having a long queue of work, Greg even came in on the Monday (shop closed) to ensure we were able to head home on time. It was my first time staying in Banff in many years and I cant say enough good things about everyone we met. Specific to Greg and Mountain men, kind, polite and bent over backwards for us. We expected a much larger bill than we received, and are grateful we stumbled onto their business. Thanks a bunch!

My tire blew out on Saturday evening on the way home from Lake Louise. After changing my tire a friend told me to take my car to Mountain Men. I had not met Greg but still left my car in his lot overnight and put my keys in the lock box. I had a ride back to Calgary and my intention was to call Greg on Sunday morning to see if he had time. First of all they are open 7 days a week, second Greg was on it right away. My tire was not fixable so I brought a new set of tires back from Calgary and he put them on and I was on my way. If you need work on your car and you are going through Banff or in Banff this is the place. Thank you Greg!

Thank you very much boys. I blew a tire yesterday morning, with 5 hours of my drive remaining. these guys were the only one willing to lend a helping hand, out of the three shops i visited. I work in the industry and i know that everyone gets busy, but not to take a half hour of your time to help someone in dire need. Came here on an emergency trip while we were visiting Banff from Calgary due to a surprise flat tire. Had an absolutely amazing experiments with Greg, who went above and beyond to assist with a simple tire patch. He went into detail as to what was actually needed instead of what we thought we needed. Would highly recommend coming here for any service needs for someone who is honest and won't beat around the bush. We will be making the trip next week just to come back and get our work done. Highly recommend!

I was having car trouble while visiting Banff, I called mountain men mechanics to get some advice on what to do. The gave great objective and honest advice. Ultimately I ended up having the car towed back to my home mechanic, but if I absolute would use these guys if I needed to.

Picked up a flat tire on Banff ave. Had the space saver put on by AMA. AMA suggested these guys to fix the nail in the tire. Shop missed my phonecall but called back 5 mins later. Got my tire fixed within 30 mins of the call. Excellent service, saved me driving back to Calgary on a spare. Thanks Guys!!

Had a flat tire at lake Johnson, and I was able to put my spare on and make it to this shop. The staff were so helpful and kind, they patched up my tire right away, and put it back on my car. I was back on the road within 20 min. I would recommend this company any day!! Thank you

We were stuck in Banff for a week waiting on a warranty transmission to be installed in our sprinter van and the guys at Mountain Men were incredibly accommodating. They were quick to diagnose and communicate with the appropriate people to get the job done as quickly as possible. Not to mention they let us sleep in our van for the week and utilize their facilities and even at times their electricity. They put us at ease during a stressful situation and were so kind. Would recommend to locals and travelers alike!

I went in for an inspection knowing that some work needed to be done to my vehicle. I received a call, I believe from Justin, telling me that I basically should not even bother with the repairs and that I might as well buy a new vehicle. I asked for the quote anyways and was told I'd need minimum $3900 in work. Since they didn't seem particularly keen on servicing my vehicle and the price was insane, I ended up getting connected with a mechanic in Calgary and had all the major repairs done for a quarter of the price. They were pleasant/professional but the way they went about informing me of the repairs was really odd (ie. don't even bother doing it) and the prices on some parts were pretty outrageous. If you can make it to a mechanic outside of Banff, I'd highly recommend you to do it.

After breaking down on our way passed Banff, we found one mechanic who told us he "was the only one in town and wouldn't look at it for 3 days", we were stuck struggiling how to fix our own car. Luckily we did a quick search to see if maybe there was anyone else to help after hours trying to do it ourselves, we found Mountain Men. They were incredibly helpful from start to finish and relieved all our anxiety away! The guys at Mountain Men Mechanics are knowledgeable, and genuine guys.

Honest comment. Im not happy with their service one guy name greg is rude. It took 15days to get our vehicle back , they always change the day to pick up our vehicle. Also their labor is very expensive. Please be aware this mechanic shop if u have plan to fix your vehicle i suggest go to canmore not this place banff. if i can give zero i will do it.

Driving through Alberta I had some unexpected mechanical issues on my vehicle. Mountain Men were able to diagnose the issue very quickly. While they didn't have the specific part I need as it is not common, they called a few places on my behalf so I could get it fixed in Calgary and continue on my travels. Very professional and approachable (which is important to me as a woman). I'm not sure if they typically work weekends, but to be able to find a mechanic open on a Friday late afternoon, who checked it out on a Saturday and got me back on the road, is pretty rare. Thank you!

Fantastic service, cannot rate Mountain Men Mechanics high enough! Justin and his team sorted out our van and had us back on the road in no time. DO NOT USE – Mountain Con-Men Mechanics They are over-priced, inexperienced con-men. I took my vehicle in to fix an oil leak (oil filter gasket replace $800) and by not knowing how to open my hood they snapped the cable that releases it. There was no phone call to ask how to open my hood or even a call after they did it. When I ask if they would fix it they refused even though they admitted they snapped and didn’t know how to open it. I am now filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, to hopefully make them fix what they broke. You will find cheaper and better mechanics in Canmore. Don’t risk it

My car broke down during a weekend in Banff. When all the other shops were closed these guys were open. Like most shops these guys were booked up till who knows when, but despite this they told me to come by on a Sunday and they would help me out. In between appointments they did, providing me the thorough assessment I needed to develop a plan of action. Your team was both intelligent and considerate. Thank you immensely for the assistance.

Came to get my alternator replaced as I thought it was the suspected problem with insufficient electricity flowing through the car( lights flickering, radio turning off etc.) I was still billed $130 for a diagnosis even though I had already outlined the problem to which they then agreed with me. Ordering a new alternator (on the Thursday evening) I was given a call on Friday morning to tell me they had ordered the wrong alternator, fair enough, mistakes happen. Waiting till Tuesday for the new part and $480 later, I have a new alternator in the car with the same issues reoccurring like nothing has changed to which I’m then told might be a deeper ‘grounding issue’. All in all, almost $500 spent and none of the original issues fixed. Not happy and not satisfied as no compensation followed. Will never recommend. Ever.

Mountain Men Mechanics went above and beyond to repair my tour van's brakes, on Canada Day Monday this summer. I would have been screwed without them accommodating me as I had a van load of clients and a trailer full of bikes to deal with. We also had a tight time window that day as I had to get clients to the airport on time then drive a few ppl back to Edmonton that evening. They accepted my calls, took delivery of parts couriered from Calgary and completed the job in record time for a very reasonable cost. Thanks so much champions, you guys are the best!
