incredible service! I got a flat in Jasper. I had to ride to Banff with a spare. I was hesitant in approaching any garage. Tim was not only patient and understanding you could tell he genuinely cared. you don't need to ask to know his garage is busy. Nonetheless, he patched up my tire fast without hesitation.

Tim really knows his stuff. He did a full and proper diagnostic process on my car and identified exactly what the problems were. Other mechanics played guessing games with me. If there is a problem with your car that you can't get to the bottom of, take it to Banff Auto Services. He specializes in timing belts as well.

Our van wouldn’t start so a woman offered to jump us. It didn’t work so she said to call Banff Auto Services because she trusts them! Gave them a call and the mechanic on the phone gave us really good advice and we managed to get our van started. Saved us a tow and a trip to the mechanic. Very impressed that they 1. Answered the phone and 2. Took time out of their busy day to give us advice.

Rolled into town with a small issue, but it needed to be fixed. Had no idea if they could help on the fly. Stopped by, was informed it was busy but they checked out the issue anyway. Had my Jeep back within 3 hours, problem solved! Great, quick service, reasonable price! Thank you!!

Try to avoid this autoshop! Overprice and he will take advantage of you once your in the his shop! My alternator brace broke and he welding it for me and charged me $250 then told to me that I need to change my alternator and charge me $300 plus labor again.Then I told to him to bring my own alternator to put coz it cost only $180 in autoshop but he doesn't want to put.Then I try to troubleshoot by my self and able drove back from banff to calgary without any trouble.

Extremely aggressive and rude behavior/attitude from Tim the owner. My car engine light came on while I was driving to lake Louise and the engine lost power, so I decided to get it ask because I am a mechanic myself and know the issue is probably a broken spark plug or something related but wanted to be sure as I didn't have any tools with me at the moment. I ask Tim to borrow a scanner but he said he was full till the 16 of july (10 days from now) so I asked instead to rent it to me but he yelled at me and almost hit me and quick me out of his shop. Please avoid this place as he is not very friendly to the tourists and just gives a bad reputation to the town. I am on my way back home to Edmonton and hopefully I'll be fine. I would give 0 rating if I could. Avoid...Avoid...Avoid!!!

Tim was absolutely amazing. We had come to Banff for our 11year anniversary and on Saturday at 5pm ....flat tire! Ama came and put the donut on and I called around frantically for an hour to every Canadian Tire from Banff to Calgary including every one in Calgary as they are open Sundays. No one would see us and even suggested they could make us appointments on the 22nd. I knew we could only go 100km on the donut and we would not be making it back to Lethbridge on it. As a last effort I looked up a couple smaller shops in town and sent emails hoping one of them may check it and help us out. Tim responded and had us in his shop at 10am on Sunday and back on the road by 10:45. We had two nails in our tire and he found a slow stem leak so fixed that at the same time. The rate was more than reasonable and I learned while talking to him he was supposed to be spending the day with his son who was leaving town for a new job. Tim is an amazing guy who took time out of a special day in his life to help us when our special day did not go as planned lol. I would highly recommend him as a mechanic and an amazing human being.

On our road trip this summer, my boyfriend and I got our van out checked here because we were worried about some sounds our car was making. We had it checked here, and it was the best experience we could have hoped for. The staff was very knowledgable and very friendly, they took their time to point out what was wrong on the van and explain how these things happen, and they gave us a good idea about what we could fix, how urgent those fixes were and how much that would cost us. It was exactly what we needed, I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It is true that they are busy (which is unsurprising to us since they're great), but we gladly stuck around a few days longer to have our car fixed here.

Blew a tire on the highway and AMA towed me here for a replacement. Very impressed with the service and price! Was ready within 30 minutes. I was expecting a higher rate in the tourist area (AMA warned me when I picked Banff as tow location) but price was comparable to what it would cost in Calgary. Highly recommended.

Time for a new receptionist. I was rudely told that they would not install replacement parts on my vehicle if I supplied the parts myself. If this is your policy that is fine, but to be told in the rude manner I was by the receptionist leaves a bad image of your business.

Our car broke down Dec 30th, on the Icefields Parkway, on our way to Banff to end our trip before heading back home to Edmonton. We had the car towed to Banff Auto Services, but found out it was closed until January 2nd. We decided to hang around town and make the most of it. I phoned Tim first thing Tuesday morning, but got a voicemail and left a message. Tim phoned back in less than a hour, had already figured out the problem and ordered the parts. He had it fixed and road ready before noon!!! Amazing service and very professional ! Thanks so much Tim for helping us out in a very stressful situation.

wasted 2 full days of in banff because of false promises. we've had the car there earliest in the morning and were told it would be done the same day. both times they didn't even start working on the car when we called around 2 30 to ask how much longer it would take... not a big deal if u live in banff. different story when u have to drive out from lake louise and somehow spend the whole day in banff while waiting for your car. poorest customer service ever.

Don’t go there. He told me it takes him 1.5h to take out the inner door and put it back in again. After seeing a guy on youtube doing the same thing in 7 minutes I decided to put back the inner door myself, it’s about 5 screws so everyone can do it themselves. I told him to leave it just as it is and I put it back myself. He called me two hours later, had already put back the door himself and charged me another 45 minutes for that. He will try to get your money and lets you look like a fool.

Me and my boyfriend did a road trip in Alberta, and our car broke down. We towed the car to Banff auto services. The owner, Tim, had the car fixed in a couple of hours, the next morning. We were pretty happy, dispite the costly price. After 5 days, the same problem happened again. We towed the car back to Tim's place knowing that he's familiar with the problem. When we arrived, Tim said that he is very busy and that he'll be able to look at the car in a week. We extended our stay in Banff and waited for Tim's answer. After a week, he told us that the work will cost at least 1000 dollers and he doesn't know how long it could take. We ask for a littel help with the price and timing, because every waiting day means more money we spend for a place to stay. Tim wasn't willing to help us, and he made us wait 3 more days until we could towe the car to another place. Basiclly, we waited more than a week for Tim to say that he doesn't want to fix the problem. We were very disappointed and frustrated with the time and money we wasted.

We left a day of skiing to find a flat tire. The rental car company was of no assistance (budget). We put the spare on and in a panic as it was already close to 5 and all shops to fix were closing. I called this shop and was received with the most gracious act of kindness. They got us in at opening time so we could catch our flight on time. Wonderful staff and service!!

Our experience couldn't have been more different than the most recent reviews here. We experienced a leak in our cooling system and called around most of the service shops in Banff and they couldn't look at it for several days. Tim looked at it that afternoon and diagnosed the problem, ordered the new part and it came in two days. Fixed the problem and sent us on our way. Have driven thousands of mile since without a problem. Definitely recommend.

We were on a road trip from Ontario to BC with our daughter and dog, when our (newly installed) brakes failed. I placed a call to Tim first thing in the morning, and explained our desperate situation. He was fully booked for the day, but said he'd try to have a look at it for us. We got the truck to his shop around 8:30 AM, and he had us back on the road in less than an hour. The bill was very reasonable as well. He literally saved the day (and quite possibly the rest of our trip) and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Such a nice man, and very professional. Thanks again Tim, and staff :)

My partner and I were in the midst of a Rockies road trip when one of our tires kept deflating. We had a jam packed schedule that relied on us having our car in good shape, and we were worried we’d be out of commission for a while waiting for it to get fixed. We needn’t have worried, these guys were AWESOME. We took the car in at 830 am on a Tuesday, they said give us a couple hours... an hour later, they’d texted us that the car was good to go. Had picked up the car, tire patch in place and nail removed (that we hadn’t spotted—a big one too!), by 1030 am, and not even late for our planned hike that day. THANK YOU!! So grateful to these guys for their fast and professional service. We are so grateful! (Also worth noting these guys are right in town and only a few minutes walk from most hotels). Thanks again!!

Tim’s prices are ridiculous and he is extremely rude! He quoted me at $790 for a new alternator called a few other places ended up getting it fixed for $430... when I told him I was going through someone else he got extremely angry. Recommend never coming here.

Just went to this place to get a quote and Tim was rude. I asked him for a quote and he wouldn't give it to me. Then I asked to see if I could get the name of the parts I needed and he said "do you want me to do the work for you or not." What kind of customer service is that??

First visit was fine, other than the bill being slightly higher than I expected for the job done. (Didn't have a choice as the car was dead). Second time I used them I wasn't filled with confidence. Carried out basic service but failed to diagnose a suspension issue. Had to go back again and wait around for a few hours while Tim (the owner) inspected and eventually found what the issue was. Slightly annoying as I was pretty clear on the vehicles symptoms the first time I took my car in for this issue. Was given an estimate to repair but after phoning the main Volvo dealer in Calgary for a comparative price I was quoted much less. I will use the dealer for peace of mind and to save a few dollars. They are quite informative upon pick up, just seems like the finger isn't quite on the pulse, along with being over priced and waiting around for a simple fix. Had it fixed in Calgary for half the cost and completed within the hour @ Mr Volvo. Also when I asked the other mechanic how he was, his reply was that he will be better in 10 minutes when he clocks off! Not a very professional thing to say to a customer. Judging by other reviews they're great when it comes to repairing a flat tire. Will certainly drive to Calgary next time.
