When you're in the Canadian Rockies and really want to explore, it's best to have your own car. Since it was winter, and I had flown into Calgary to meet my mom for our trip to Banff, I didn't have a car. We chose Avis Banff because it was super close to the hotel and had great reviews. Our car was clean and perfect for the road conditions. Kamila was such a pleasure to work with; she was so sweet and helped us get the perfect car for our trip. We will definitely use again!!

Needed a car just for two days but meantime my plans changed so I called and they were very helpful and nice and able to do it over the phone, I extended my rental for another two days. I was pleased with the service and the car.
Not great customer service. The only lady working there took her "lunch break" when we were supposed to pick up our car and wasn't back for an hour.
Picking up our car at the Calgary airport oct 13/18 the Avis staff were awsome to deal with. I too was a little concerned that I tried to call the Banff office, when we did talk to them they were more then helpful , Dropping off the car at the Banff train station was amazing, They had a drop off box inside , Leaving very early in the am to board the Rocky mountaineer we left a glass case with two pens in . After several days of still away on holidays I listen to my voice messages. Avis left us two messages that we left an glass case in the car, I thought wow glasses werent even in it, When I called them to say we are very impressed that you called us to let us know about the glass case, she said well the case could of been very sentimental to the owner.Thanks Avis we will sure rent again if we ever come out that way again.

Initially hired a car from Calgary airport and drove to Banff for a week before heading to Jasper, the day before we were due to drive to Jasper i could hear a noise which i suspected a wheel bearing. Took it to the Avis Banff where we were greeted by a young lad, bearing in mind it was about 5.20pm and they shut at 5.30pm and he had another evening job afterwards, he was massivly helpful, agreed there was a problem, sorted the paperwork, a new car and got us on our way ???? a real credit to the place you are and a massive thanks from us !!
Worst company to rent through, after calling customer service they refused to listen after over charging me. If renting don't use key drop off hand the keys in person or they will change the return time on you!
Worst customer service I've ever experienced, I've used many rental companies but will never use Avis again. I strongly advise against using this company.

Excellent customer service!! I picked up a nail in my tire. I only knew something was wrong...They exchanged cars for me without any hassle or delays, or charges. Woman at counter ( sorry I didn’t get her name; 8/24/18) was especially wonderful. Computant, friendly, reassuring. Thank you!!!
Avis needs to have the same rules everywhere. Avis in Kelowna accepted my provisional UK driving license but Avis in Banff didn't. If I was the only driver we would have been in a really bad situation. On top of that the process of getting the car is super slow ans feels like they have never improved it. 20 mins to print the papers and give us the keys is ridiculous
The customer service here is amazing! There was a employee working May 21st-22nd who was super friendly and helpful. When returning the car I had lost one my apple air pods down the seat and I rang through to see if they were able to get it as we couldn’t reach it. The guy was able to reach it and return it to us! Thanks so much, will be returning to Avis again!

Was charged a full additional day when I returned the car 90 minutes late on a Sunday during closed hours. Frustrating enough. On top of the additional full day charge, I was also charged 15 dollars for returning the car late. The car sat in the parking garage for 40% of the billing period. If they had gone through their late policy with me, I would have just kept the car for the full day. Previous time I used this location they didn't honor an Expedia.ca confirmed booking. Customer service was so-so. Enterprise or Budget are much better options.
Avoid this rental agency at all costs. Nothing but stress and heartache. Upon returning the car I paid using a different card and i checked my bank a few days later to find i have been double charged and now im at their mercy and they make me feel like a criminal.

Rental not recommended. I am sorely disappointed by the street-vendor tactics shown by such a large company. We were purposefully misinformed in order to be sold more insurance, as Avis discredited the information we gave Avis, even though it was completely true. When trying to ask customer service we were averted and Avis refused to tackle the question at hand, referring to policies distantly related to our question at hand; thus we had no possibility of getting any help. If possible, please rent somewhere else for the sake of customers.

Called in at the office to see if we could put the return time back a couple of hours. I was expecting a pretty negative response, but in fact the service representative there could not have been more helpful, and sorted it out with no bother at all. Very pleased with the service
Prepaid online for a rental, when we turned up at the desk on the day was told they had no vehicles available. At no point did anyone try to get in contact with us to let us know in advance. Would give 0 stars if possible as didn’t get a car and had to go through a frustrating phone systems to try and get a refund as they couldn’t process this at the desk.

Never again! We broke down outside of Banff Canada on a weekend and of course the only car rental company that was open was Avis. Because they are the only place open apparently that gives them the right to have zero customer service manners. The man at the counter was curt and rude. He never said thank you or smiled. Naturally we were having an awful day, we just found out that we would have to spent three more days in Banff which is ridiculously expensive, and we would be spending quite a bit of money to fix our vehicle. Not to mention the outrageous rate that the Avis in Banff charges. Despite all that we still went into Avis with smiles on our faces and a friendly demeanor but it was not reciprocated. It would have been nice to get at least a smile from the Avis employee but instead he was rude! If given the choice (which we did not have here) We will never rent from Avis again.

im always rent a car in AVIS banff cascade mall branch. but this is the first time i rented that are dirty and really dusty even when you open the AC the dust blow inside the car. The driver seat tire is wiggling when i checked it, its like very less air..
Rented a car for a noon pickup. Arrived a few minutes past 12 and they were closed. Sadly a few others also showed up at the same time to find the place closed and no way to access their rental vehicle. Called the number for Avis but they were of no assistance.
I prepaid online for this reservation and they essentially lost all evidence of it and made me rebook the entire reservation, costing me another $500 in credit space which I didn’t have as a student. Weird though because they magically found it when they still charged me for the original reservation! They claim I’ll receive my money back in a week after I called to complain, but they also said the transaction wouldn’t go through in the first place so I’ll believe it when I see it. Spent over three hours at the counter and on the phone the entire time of which staff was condescending and told me there was nothing they can do. Save your time and use enterprise for your Banff rental, the people there are much friendlier and have never tried to hold a ton of my money unnecessarily.
I just want to thank the staff at the Avis center in the Cascade Plaza in Banff, especially Tim. I had rented a car at the Calgary airport and was planning to be driving in and around the Banff area. The car developed a sound in the breaking system that I was not comfortable with since we would be driving several hours north to Jasper where I knew services would be extremely limited. I talked to Tim who immediately arranged for a comparable vehicle to be exchanged, took care of all the paperwork transferring the vehicle and gave me the assurance there would be no issues... and that is is exactly what happened. I had a new car, cleaned and ready for me and our journey within 30 minutes and no hassles returning the car to the Calgary airport several days later. Tim's professionalism, assurance and just great character made this potentially stressful situation an awesome experience. Thank you Tim!
Very good experience, upgraded me to a very nice van for free so I could have more space for my kid. Clean, well maintained caravan.
The pickup from the railway station and car were fine. However, when I went to drop off the car during business hours, I realised the contract document just gives a street corner address in a very busy shopping area and no indication where to leave car. When I tried to call the office to check no one was answering the phone. After eventually finding the office, a sign on the door advised what to do. It would be very helpful if the address on contract advised where to drop the car as well as the office address. Finding a parking spot in downtown Banff is challenging!

Always when I'm in Banff I rent a car from Avis. Why? Because they always have a car for me, even when I was late 3 hours they still kept it or once they even called me to confirm if I am going to pick up not like budget! Always happy with Avis service and their cars.

Terrible service. Absolute rip off owner. I was in town for the world media festival last week and needed a car for a few days. Upon returning the car I was charged for dents and scratches that did not exist. To top it off they charged me almost $4/ltr for gas that was returned full. I have notified all of my colleagues not to use Avis next time in town.
Price was good and car was clean, can't complain about that. I am just disappointed with their customer service. Avis needs to hire someone who has manners and knows how to drive.

Awful, deceitful, lying service! Had an issue with their customer line and couldn't reach the office. Customer line said their services were down and to wait and call back. After waiting in the rain for several hours, we finally got through and the location mentioned they would pardon the late fees. After we arrived they had charged an extra day despite promising they would not given our circumstances. Will never return and will make sure everyone I am in contact with chooses a different rental service.

I was in the store this summer and If it wasn't for the friendly counter staff I would have rated lower. A young Australian girl was AMAZING, helpful, nice and very understanding. There was a 'manager' who was not only rude but also condescending. I witnessed her be rude to other customers also. Even her attitude towards her employees was very unprofessional and disappointing! I felt sorry for your other amazing staff members. Such a shame.
