The quality of a place is determined by how they deal with mistakes. I had an issue, the wrong tires were installed on my vehicle (mistakes can happen anywhere, I don't hold this against them), and I wasn't able to wait for a week to get a new appointment. The assistant manager (James) was able to get me in same day to put the tires I had ordered on, and left the mistake tires on my truck for the day while I went about my business until they were able to get me in. They applied a price reduction from my original quote, and were generally pleasant to deal with through what could have been a crappy customer service experience. I'm happy with the tires they recommended (and eventually installed), and while it was inconvenient to have to go in twice to get them, they were great to deal with through the mistake and prompt in their service to me.

Excellent location. I've had leaks in two of my tires in the past six months because, well, Edmonton, but both times, Kal-Tire was available to fix the tires promptly. The customer service is fantastic. This was especially appreciated given a terrible experience I had at the Canadian Tire across the street. I will definitely be back here to get my summer tires changed out.

Really great service. I was in a bit of bind needing new tires because my current ones were getting to a point where it was an actual hazard to myself. I called and they were able to get the tires within a few days and even allowed me to come in without an appointment. Jason Mikkelsen is the Store Manager there and I would recommend contacting him for your tire needs. Class act and super friendly.

I took my car in to have winter tires changed over. A number of the wheel nuts were seized on and I was unable to remove them. The Kal Tire mechanic was able to get them all off and my car was ready as promised at the expected cost. I would definitely recommend Kal Tire.

I wasn't too impressed this morning 030745 Nov 2012. We waited outside for 15 minutes, then the shorter associate with glasses comes out and said "does anyone have an appointment?, because we are not taking anything else, just so you know". I did call this location yesterday at 1410, and was put on hold for 15 minutes, since I do have better things to do than wait around listening to the promos and music, I hung up. My past experience was very good when I had my vehicle serviced here, I guess today and the fact that no one came out to let the people who formed a long line outside their store know, that they were only taking appointments and no walk ins................just so you know.

They can do basic tire changes. My family has brought in a car for this service and had few problems. The major problem in the lack of attention to detail on anything else. Like, fixing 2 lug bolts and putting on lug nuts larger than any of the others. If you need anything besides simple car work, prepare to be disappointed.

We used to go to Kal Tire in Calgary, but when we first moved to Cochrane we weren't fond of this location. I think something changed with ownership a while ago, but in any case they have been amazing ever since. Friendly, reliable, and trustworthy service. Only downside is they've stopped offering winter tire swaps even if you bought your winters there, which is a bummer but that's not a reflection of the service and the staff here. Highly recommend!

Went in this morning to get a flat tire repaired with every intention of having to pay for the service. The technicians found 2 screws in my tire, which should have cost about 50 bucks to repair. Fixed the tires very quickly and upon being called up to the till, was shocked to hear no charge for the patches. Manager told me to simply remember them the next time I’m shopping for tires, which I’ve done in the past and will continue to do in the future! I actually felt appreciated...????. Also, for an early and quite hectic Saturday morning, they were quick with a joke to pass the time. Service was timely, and done with care. No damage to the rims, or any part of my truck. My truck was an alignment from hell, but they got it done properly for me. They even took the time to test drive it, to make sure everything was in good working order. I had some front end work done somewhere else. Went to Kal Tire for a wheel alignment. I know when I made the appointment I said I wanted a front wheel alignment. When that was done and time to pay the bill, it came up to $150. I asked why it was so much. I said I thought it was $109. I was told price went up. I paid it anyway, as I was going to my car and reading my bill. I noticed I was charged for 4 wheel alignment.

I went in to ask about tires and wheels a couple of weeks ago and the manager was very good and knowledable. She seemed on top of everything going on at the store. However, when I took my vehicle in to have the tires put on a few days ago there were staff not wearing their masks. It's a bylaw and your a business!!!! I got into my partners vehicle and watched someone approach my vehicle with their mask under their chin. I step out of the vehicle and tell the person, you cannot get into my car without a mask. They proceed to tell me that they are just the sanitizer and are not going to be moving or getting into my car..... however, I then watch them open my driver's door and lean into my vehicle to whipe down everything INSIDE the vehicle. Then, when I went to pick up my vehicle the manager herself was not wearing a mask. I literally cannot understand how businesses are failing to respect the mask bylaw and keep people safe.

Not happy with the service here at South Common Kal Tire. I am a repeat customer but will not come back. I had an apt scheduled for 2pm and didn't get out of there til 4:20pm!!!! Then I get home and realize that the centre caps off my rims were missing. Tried to call and got hung up on and no one answers you just get out on hold automatically and they never answer. Poor poor customer service.

Walked into get my tire fixed at (4pm ) which only needed a plug in it and they said I couldn't pick it up till the morning. Plus they didnt even acknowledge me standing there for 15 minutes. Kal Tire is always a solid place to get tires and some mechanical work done, ie brakes, shocks etc. Every Kal Tire I have been too has always come through with the products and service, including the one in Cochrane based on my first visit.

History of issues with tire changes. Watch what they do carefully and always inspect their work. Been in a few times for winter/summer tire swaps both on rims. Each time there seems to be something. The first time they forgot to set my TPMS for the swap and I had to go back in and get them to redo it. The time after that they didn't swap out my lugnuts like I asked (I have a set for each). Another time when I was back for a torque the kid doing the torquing said the lugnuts I was using were wrong and it was dangerous. I told him "well you guys swapped the tires yesterday and I have a second set, should I go in and get them swapped out?" To which he replied "nonono nothing is wrong it's fine sorry." I told him that if they did it wrong then they should fix it but he seemed worried he was going to get in trouble. The last time they put my summers on I didn't inspect all four to make sure they were in the right direction, and when I went in to my mechanics for other work they put my winters on and they showed me that two of them were swapped on backwards. I know tire shops have been struggling lately so this time I went in for my summers to be swapped back on and the guy immediately said "I have to inspect them to make sure they are safe to install" - first red flag. He came back in and said "nope they are bare and need to be replaced, we can't swap them" and handed me a quote for new ones in all of 30 seconds. The price for the tires was decent but he also tacked on a $145 wheel alignment. While it's recommended, it's not mandatory non new tires and he didn't give me the option and just threw it in the quote without saying anything. I knew they were near their end of life but I don't drive much and they weren't at the 2/32nd tread mark yet so I didn't feel they should outright refuse to swap them. Whether it was the guys intent to just try and get me to buy new tires or not, his approach seemed pretty sketchy. The guy didn't know this but I have family who work at tire shops so I checked with them and they said they would recommend new ones but still swap them on as they weren't at the tread wear line yet. I had the tires put on so I can stop wearing down my winters and put in an order for new ones for next week from another place.

We have been going to Kal Tire for quite a few years as the service has been excellent and the pricing reasonable. Yesterday we received what appeared to be an unreasonable charge, in the amount of $134.40 for changing out winter for summer tires (both sets on rims). When questioned this morning Rebecca reduced the bill to a $40.00 charge for on-rim swaps. Apparently $134.40 charge is applied to off-rim tire swaps (billing error). Pleased that things are back on track as Kal Tire, Cochrane is so convenient and we have always been happy with the service.

I had a fantastic experience at this Kal tire. I was experiencing major problem with my engine. The mechanic was sympathetic and patient when he was explaining to me what happened and what to do next. He spent time on researching whether this issue was present in other cars of the same make and offered some good advice about how to proceed with the dealer and insurance. The mechanic went above and beyond to make me feel as much in control as possible. I believe the mechanic's name is Jordan. I fully recomend this mechanic and I hope he goes back after he is done school (he said he was taking some time off in the fall to do school).

Great staff - from manager to tech guys. Glad I went to this shop to buy a set of rims. Price is reasonable, not to mention having a family/friend discount, which made it even a better deal. On the downside, I had to wait for at least a couple of weeks for my order which I had to follow-up a few times (and put on hold for at least 10 mins every time) so that I may fit-in the installation appointment with my work schedule. A little bit of a hassle but all of that has changed after I’ve seen those rims installed - the wheels made the car! Special shoutout to Lance and Cole - good job guys!

Bought tires here for our Enclave. When inspecting shocks two days after our mechanic noticed the balancing was out. Kal Tire was booking work two weeks out but when we explained our car was not balanced correctly, originally, they were apologetic and has us in within 12 hours. Everyone makes mistakes its how they handle them that matters.

I called a few days ago to see if they had time to do a tire rotation, the girl on the phone was curt and unhelpful. I went there today and stood at the counter for several minutes while being ignored by 4 staff. I asked about Barry & Colin and was told that they had retired. I guess that explains the drastic change in customer service. I left and won't be back,or be recommending this shop anymore.

I had a nail in my tire (not on sidewall) and stopped at a local Cdn Tire. I was told it could not be repaired due to the wear on the tire. Important to note the vehicle is an AWD in which case \i would need to purchase 4 new tires. Questioning this decision went further from hoe to Kal Tire. fellow kindly checked the tire wear and did comment that the tire ws getting close to needing replacement but it could be patched, not a concern. When done I for some quotes on new tires. Fellow offered 3 and explained the differences between. He then slid the paperwork for the tire repair to me, final price $0! He smiled, said have a nice day and keep us in mind if you are looking for new tires. A free tire repair! I was speechless and could only shake his hand. Rare to find such courteous, and over the top customer service, JCormack!!

The manager, Ahmad, and the staffs here are all awesome!! EXCEPT the lady (Barb?) at the front desk, hence a star is taken off. I have issues with tire pressure TPMS sensor lights coming-on after getting brand new tires and rims installed here. I called, and was told no appointment needed to get it looked at. So I came the morning 11am, the front-lady tells me, they can't look at my vehicle right now, I need to come back at 4pm and it will need 1/2hr. BUT, when I shows up at 4pm, this lady tells me straight upfront: they are fully booked, they still can't look at it, and I have to make an appointment and come another time. What's your issue lady??? You are the who told me to come back at 4pm! Get your schedules straight! OR atleast ask the techs if I just need a quick 5min sensor reprogram OR I really need an appointment for sensor replacement. ___________ tires_______ Got Nokian WR G2 - SUV, best all weather tires. And Nokian Nordman 7 winters tires plus rims for a 2nd SUV here, very grippy tires.

5 Star Service!!!! Ryan and Travis are always a pleasure to deal with. After getting a hole in my tire fixed (for free I might add) my hub cap came off a couple weeks later and was lost. While I thought I wouod have to replace it myself I figured I would give them a call and just ask. Ryan ordered me the exact cap that came off at no expense to me. These guys are amazing. They go well above and beyond to make sure everything is working properly. We ran into some nasty dents in my previous rims, and they went well above and beyond what they needed to do to balance the rim for me. The rims were never even bought from their shop! They also installed great tires for me, got me in quickly on busy day, and got the job done lightning fast. They also have an awesome warranty for their tires that beat all the rest. There are a lot of kal tire shops in this city. But this is the one to go to, even if it's a bit further. Trust me, your vehicle will thank you.

I did not have a good experience coming here. I came to get my tires checked. It was obviously flat so it was filled with air before coming here so that I could at least get it there. The guy there basically told me that they were old and if it's still holding air now it should be fine wait until it drops down in temperature and if I experience any problems just bring it back. Right like I'm going to wait until it's freezing cold to risk getting a flat tire during my commute great advice. He even checked the tire pressures while I was there and told me they were low and he didn't even fill them while I was there. The guy seemed lazy, dismissive and not wanting to do his job. The manager he asked for help with was also quite rude. I would not recommend coming here. Save yourself the time and money and just go elsewhere.

UPDATED: Mostly rectified by a staff member, still not pleased and won't be back. Massively inconvenient, no refund or anything for wasting so much of my time. Will be calling this morning when open. Got my boyfriends tire patched here. Woke up this morning to it completely flat again, after it being in the shop for almost a full two days and had to call in to see when it would be done. They are the worst. A few days a go I gave them a flat tire to fix. Now they give me back a torn tire and they say it’s irreparable! I had it on my car and I just needed to inflate it every 5 or 6 weeks! I had recently bought that and now I have to buy a new one because they torn my tire!

Ignore the negative review. I went there this morning with a leaking tire after being unable to find a single place in all of Edmonton that would do the work. All other places were telling me it would take a week to repair (a leaking tire!). I got there 30 minutes before they closed and dropped off the tire expecting to pick it up Monday. They called me 2.5 hours later to tell me it was done. Apparently they stayed open late to do their work. When I went to pick it up, the told me it was on them and didn't charge me. awesome service. thanks guys.

Four years ago, i choose to purchase nokian tires. Kal tire was the only dealer at the time. When I dropped the car off a couple days after making the appointment, buddy behind the counter smelled very strongly of booze and was behaving in a rather belligerent manner and was not polite at all. I vowed to myself not to go back to this business as the man obviously had no standard as to how to present himself and behave to the customer, while he was still drunk at 9 am in the morning! As i like the tire brand but not the shop, i travelled more than 70 km's to have the vehicle serviced at another kal tire. Two weeks ago my daughter needed new tires and was directed to a deal at the local Kal Tire. We dropped the wheels off to have the new tires mounted. When I returned to pick them up, the Kal Tire Rep behind the counter asked me of my opinion of what i think of the recent alleged pandemic. I stated an opinion that is sound and backed in research, science and 25 years personal experience as a natural health practitioner. Then the tire salesman got loud and stated he was a microbiologist and had the answer to the pandemic (contrary to my opinion) then began to mock me to my face. (I did not remind him at that point of the fact that he was selling tires, not a microbiologists, but did not ask him where his lab was, so i may be remiss as he could actually be doing research after his day job.) The last 25 years I have been involved in manufacturing and selling microbes for human consumption, I am not university trained, I have real world experience, I know my business. So the sales agent / kal tire representative , ran into the back shop, not knowing I was already there and started spouting off to the other employees and mocking me of my opinion!! ( I sensed he must be a very insecure man of >6 foot size to my <5'8"to have to tell his tire mechanics how smart he is and just called out a customer who had a differing opinion to his). I immediately called him out, and with my toes just over the bay door line, he began yelling and pointing at me and got very aggressive, stating I was not allowed in the shop, causing me to have concern for my safety. My toes were barely over the line, but he came charging and yelling pointing his finger!! It is really disappointing to have to encounter such individuals who are so intolerant to others opinions that they must bully and demean. KAL TIRE Cochrane, twice your employees had to act in ways that show no respect to another. Not to mention the overall rude attitude. YOU FAIL. negative 5 stars. Unfortunately this system doesn't do negative number ratings and you must put a star anyway. FAIL.

Worst customer service ever! Damage was done to my rims from mounting tires and balancing (double stacked stick on weights hit calipers and took paint off completely around rim). Excuse was they didn't know what vehicle these tire were going on? Tire technician was unable to tell anything wrong with the tire but they replaced my tire valve and apply sealant inside the tire without any charges to me. I originally went in for an oil change and requested Synthetic oil. Simple right? Wrong. They gave me regular oil. How do I know? There was no smell of oil when I was driving home. More importantly, it started rough when it was only -14C. Rule of oil: Regular Oil in your car, plug in at -10. Synthetic Oil, plug in at -20C. I went back 7 days later to explain I had to go to Canadian Tire to do what I asked- basically flush out the regular oil and replace with synthetic.The mechanic who worked on my car was there, telling me he remembered my car but that he remembered putting the synthetic in it. I felt like I was at the bar where the waitress insists she saw the bartender pour my drink so the house swill I'm drinking is really the Chardonnay I'd ordered. They said the manager wasn't there to refund me when I asked- since I had to pay twice for the service and Canadian Tire assisted where they could not. I remember the manager from when I was there, asking her directly if there was synthetic oil. She barely blinked but said yes, of course. This post is not to engage with Kal Tire for some customer service resolution, it's to warn other customers- If you've recently been told you had synthetic oil put in your car and it didn't start in under-20C, you've had the South Common bait and switch.

I've had previous good experiences here but today I was very unhappy. My husband brought our vehicle in to have our winter tires swapped for our summers. I booked online and was prepared to pay the $150. I guess they had asked if he wanted them to check the wheel alignment and then said if they were "out of wack" if he wanted them to fix them. He said sure, not realizing we had had a wheel alignment only a couple of months prior. They did the unnecessary wheel alignment and now we're out an extra $150 for a service that was not needed. I looked at the before and after wheel alignment report we got and the average adjustment was only maybe .03° difference from before. They were not "out of wack" at all and it was a waste of our money for no reason. Very disappointed in this kal tire.

I left set of wheels to install certain Michelin tires. When I called to check status, they told me that it’s done. When I came, things turned that they installed wrong tires. Next week I tried to call before coming. In total I called for 40 minutes, nobody picked up the phone. Then I just came and they told me that they lost my tires and can’t find them. 10 minutes later they found them. There was another gentleman who literally screamed at them – they promised to perform alignment, but when he came, it was not done. When they were dealing with my issue (about 20 minutes), there were a lot of other customers, the phone was ringing. I also saw that some customers just left after waiting for a while. I give them 2 stars instead of one – they give me free wheel alignments, but my experience with them was really painful.

I came here with a tire on a rental car that had a torn side wall. The lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing in helping me get it fixed right away free of charge. She had charged the rental car company of the car I was driving as they refused to give me a different actually SAFE car to drive. I have been a Kal Tire customer for several years. This year is the first time as I was preparing to book an appointment to swap my wheels to summers I made the decision to book with my dealership instead. I noticed that their price for tire swaps have gone up an extra $3/tire. First in the good 'ole days it was free, then $10/tire, and now $13/tire. It is now cheaper to go to my dealership which traditionally is usually more expensive. I also noticed that the tire packages at my dealership are more expensive at Kal tire for the exact same tires. I was a little shocked. If I can get the same service to meet my needs all at my dealership for a little less money, what incentive is there to remain at Kal tire?

Ordered 2 new winter tires and set up appointment over the phone. When I came in for appointment they called me half hour into saying they ordered the wrong size. They then ordered the correct size but it would take a couple days to receive in store. I was informed to call back the next day to confirm they received the tires and set up another appointment. I was on hold for at least 20min when I heard him pick up and was talking in the back ground when he hung up on me. So I drove to the store, he wasn't busy at all, a few people in the waiting room waiting for their cars, he saw me but took his sweet time refilling the popcorn before helping me. I noticed several calls on hold flashing on the phone. But again when I got to the store he was just chatting it up in the waiting area. I set up a new appointment. Again I ordered 2 new tires, had 2 of my own from a previous season. Now you would think they would put the new tires on the front of a FWD vehicle right? Wrong! Put the brand new tires on the back. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I was re-torquing them myself the next day. I also noticed when re-torquing that one of the lug nuts was noticeably looser than all the others. This location is incompetent and judging from some of the replies the owner has replied to other complaints, the incompetence starts from the top down. If you want to go to kaltire, do yourself a favour and go to the Ellerslie location.

Terrible service. My husband ordered tires from here , they put them on, he paid the full amount to realize when he got home they put on the wrong tires and they knew what they did. Never called him to notify and when he called back they were no help - even tried to convince him they were a better tire (lucky he is not stupid) and a petty thing but still , never put his tires in bags. Now we have to waste more time and take the truck back for different tires because the ones he ordered are on back order till next year!! The tires didn't even meet the standard for the truck even though kal tire said they did. Absolutely disgusted with this place.

Incompetent. Same experience three years in a row: went to get seasonal tires off, were told they have our alternate tires out of storage and ready to be put on. Came back two hours later to pick up our vehicle. Guess what? No tires! These people do not know their head from their you-know-what. There were several other very unhappy customers there as well. Is this how it is there everyday? Stay far away from this place.

Usually really good service but this time was not the case. Dropped my tire off and was told it would be ready in the afternoon and to expect a text. As I didn't get a text I showed up just before close and was told it would not be ready till the morning. 30 minutes later I received a text saying it was ready? Came in the next morning and turns out it was installed backwards. Mistakes happen and that's fine but what they should have done was have someone correct the problem right then and there but instead I was told to come back later. I live in Calgary and have been going to this shop for tires for years. This most recent visit is my last. The technician put on the wrong tires, and I didn’t notice until I got home. I just got the correct tires put on today only to find out (again after arriving home) that one of the tires was installed backwards. After talking to Jason (owner? Manager?) no help was given other than to call a Kal Tire in Crowfoot (I’m not going to the Cochrane shop for a third time to make this right). Jason didn’t have the number for the new store and would only offer an alignment on a future service. I won’t be back.

I called kaltire on Sep 22,ordered new winter tires, rims, and pressure sensors, and made an appointment to change my winter tires on Oct 6. On oct 6, I left my car in Kaltire. After 1and half hour, they called me and said they only had my winter tires but no rims in their store, they asked me to book another appointment on Oct 13. That was a Saturday. before leaving my car over there, I checked with a receptionist to make sure they have everything for me. She checked in computer and said that if you only change tires, you donnot need buy new sensors, why you order new sensors? I was supervised because I ordered new rims that’s why I bought new sensors also. She said there was no record about any new rims, so she placed a new rims order for me. After waiting for 1 and half hour again, she called me again and told me they could not find my rims in this store. What their computer shows do not match with their real situation. She asked me to make another appointment again. After I told her, this was already my second time. She said she can order rims now, and make sure technicians put the rims and tires together on Monday’ s afternoon, so I can drive here after work on Tuesday, they can quickly put my winter tires on. All these things waste my time and I need to adjust my schedule for their service. So I asked the total price and hope that they can give me a discount to make me feel better. The lady told me the total now is $18xx and she would give me a fair price on Tuesday. So on Tuesday, at 5:00 pm, I gave my car key to the receptionist. She said they would do it quickly. Then around 6:20pm, they finally finished. And they said that they could not reprogram my TPMS with these new sensors. They gave me 2 choice: 1, they gave about $100 discount on the new sensors, because they were not working and I need to go to my dealer to reprogramming. 2, they would order my car brand sensors for me, I need come back kaltire again to change my sensors and no any discount on the total price ($1893). Actually I was so angry and disappointed. I told them this was already my third time and I did not want come back again and I was not happy with the price. Last time, the lady said she would give me a fair price. Then suddenly, one gay in the shop said he can reprogram and asked me to wait for 15mins. They drove my car back to shop, took down my winter tires and did something in shop. At 7:20, they finished and I was the last customer in the store. Up to pay my service fee, they gave me the same price $1893. And on one said sorry to me. I asked for a discount. After a receptionist’s loud voice and rude attitude,The final price was $1733.27.

I worked for this company for years - and the customer first attitude has shifted in such a negative manner it is appalling. The corporate story I learned and spent time in Vernon to experience is so far from what Kal Tire has become. I have 2400$ studded winter tires from them - but they want 55$ for a 5 minute TPMS reset on a set of wheels/tires they do not have sizing for. Service advisor (I sure hope it was a Jr. Asst considering his attitude) was unfriendly to say the least. Good luck guys, there's an enormous pool of shops to purchase from and I absolutely will not bother again no matter how good my Hakks are.

*update* I was contacted by management and credited the work. I am satisfied with this out come, since we are all human and errors happen. I had a quick tire swap done one morning, it was fast and the person who took my keys and payment was friendly and informative about future work I would need, for my breaks and struts. I took my car later to my regular mechanic as it was pulling to right and needed a wheel alignment I thought. They sent me a picture of one of my tires and said the others were bald. If I had been made aware at the time of the tire swap I would of bought new tires then and there.

I showed up at Kal Tire at 0745 today [Saturday ] as I told on the previous evening it was first come first served on Sat. I had a screw nicely embedded in my front snow tire which I noticed a few days earlier. It was extremely busy as everyone else was also waiting for service also. I was worried that since I needed my vehicle by 5 and they informed me that they dont know with all of the work orders for the day when I could have it I may be doomed, They phoned a few hours later to get my vehicle, explained what they did and did not charge me through the nose-in fact not at all. Very disappointing!! Had an appointment for 4 to get my wheels changed over for my summer wheels that I had In there tire loge, got there 15mins early and checked in right away as I was the only coustumor in the store. My car sat in the parking lot till 5 then it took a hour to take four tires off and put four others on so disappointing and frustrating. When I finally get my keys and go to pay I thought I would of got some kind of discount for the wait but nope, so I asked for some kind of discount but was told “sorry nothing I can do” (I should mention the guy that helped pay I beleave was a tech from the shop he just noticed that I had been there for a long time and was just trying to help so good for him being helpful as the guy that checked me in seamed to try and avoid me, I’m sure he could sense my frustration) so what ever I paid the full bill and left. When I get into my car I see my whole console riped apart, why?? The lug key was siting in the cup holder so why was my console glove box riped apart? And I see the radio station was changed, why do you need to change the radio for a 20’ drive into or out of the shop? Then 10mins down the road my low tire light comes on, I got SO MAD why wasn’t the pressure checked after being stored all winter? Just a terrible experience it was very pain full.. I would like to know why they make appointments if they don’t/can’t hold them. I would think someone with an appointment should get in right away for something that should only take 30mins, not have to wait 2hours before they are done. I

My wife showed up close to closing time yesterday - Friday Jan 12, 2018 with an non-repairable flat on her 2006 Honda CRV. KAL suggested that the tire on the other side should be replaced too since the tread wear was less than 30%. No arguments. We were going to replace the tires this year any way. By the way, we use Nokian WRG3's - excellent alternative to dedicated winter tires. After hearing that we were going to replace them soon anyway, they offered her four tires for the price of three. This saved us about $250. They threw in a free tire alignment too, another $125 saving. My wife asked them if they could remove her old running boards as they need to be replaced. KAL technicians obliged and spent the next half an hour or so fighting with numerous stuck bolts to remove the rusting running boards. No charge either. To me, this type of customer service is difficult to find. Good job gentlemen.

Do NOT go to this location. Their mechanics are not very knowledgeable and they try to talk you into work you don't need. I went there to have a flasher replaced. I told the " technician that my 40 year GM mechanic and I diagnosed my turn signal issue. I told the mechanic what steps I took to diagnose the issue. The " tech " ignored what I said and did the same thing I did. The problem is because he lacked in knowledge he couldn't properly diagnose the issue. He came in after pulling my truck out of the garage saying he thinks it's more serious that what I said. They tried forcing me into a diagnosis that the lady at the front counter said I would have to pay for if I didn't get the work done there. I went to a different garage and they replaced the flasher and it works fine !!! When emailing their office excuses were made up. Never getting mechanical work done at Kal Tire again !!!! I WAS MISLEAD ! Telling a customer it's more serious and forcing them into a diagnostic is wrong. My signals are working now. Your management tried talking around the issues by explaining there's different ways of diagnosing. I know the difference between a diagnostic and a diagnosis. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES !!

Thanks so much to Ahmad(I'm probably getting the spelling wrong, so apologies in advance)and Barb. I came to Kal Tire after a bad experience with Speedy Auto. Kal Tire put a decent set of tires on my SUV for nearly 300.00 less than Speedy Auto-who fixed a tire that wound up being completely flat less than 24 hours after the "repair"-and the service was friendly, prompt, courteous, and fun. What impressed me the most was that they noted that my foglamp and backup lamp (one of each)were out when they were going over my vehicle. NO ONE, not ONE garage, including the GM dealership, in all the places I've been to in the past five years trying to find a reliable shop, has mentioned that to me-although i knew they were out, this was not a huge panic for me(i have'nt used my fog lamps in years). This in and of itself is impressive.....when they notice the little things, you know they'll be there for you for the BIG things. I have spent several years looking for a decent place to bring my old girl for TLC.....and I think I might have found it. Thank you so much to Kal Tire and the staff I got to meet today. You made a very stressful day a little better with your humor and professionalism. Hoping I've finally found a home for some good care for my vehicle and myself. :) UPDATE!!!! :) I can only update this because I think you can only load one review per company.....can't seem to create a new review. Brought my car back this week to have some mechanical work done after stuff was noted on an oil change a few weeks ago. Again, stuff that no other mechanic had mentioned prior to this. Work is all done, smiles all round, thanks so much Kal Tire South Common. But even more than THAT, they squeezed me in on a very busy day to complete brake work as well(that for some reason I thought was on the original quote, but hadn't been included and clearly I wasn't paying attention)so that I could get it all done at once without having to book extra time off work. The staff here are amazing, the work is awesome. Patient, kind, helpful, and willing to work with you to get your car done, in spite of the fact that this is an extremely busy shop. Again, I am so grateful I found a mechanic that I feel I can trust and talk to about whatever is going on with my car. Kal Tire South Common, you guys are the BEST!! :) :) :)

Came here after my tire kept going flat for a few days. Told the guy there that I think my rim might be cracked because it had been a year before with the same kind of going flat problems. He came back said no Crack just a rip in the tire, they said tire has to be replaced. Have to order new tire and would be in in a week. Ordered it. Get a call few days later that my rim is cracked and I need to get it fixed, new tire won't make a difference. The only positive I would give them is that they did give me a number of a guy who did a good job welding the crack. Picked up my rim and they still had my old tire, told them I'll be back for it. Fast forward a week the rim is fixed go back to put on old tire while waiting for the new tire to arrive, they simply couldn't find it. Irritating to say the least, then I'm told that the new tire is also late. Turns out it came 10 days after it should have. Basically I ended up paying 438 for a new tire that I didn't need, and they basically "misplaced" my old tire. Just honestly terrible service, not competent. Was my first and last time ever going to this shop and probably any other kal tire to be frank.

Went in for 2 new tires. Used the online tool to book, apparently the online tool is a bit buggy so it allowed me to book a time that was already taken, no biggie, Donavan called me to rebook same day a little later. I did have an issue the next day with their work, however Donavan and his team responded quickly and respectfully, and rectified the situation. Despite the issue, I feel this location is a good place with in my opinion excellent management and workers. Good to know there's still shops out there that ACTUALLY pride themselves in customer service and stand by their work.

This shop and people are amazing, especially Neil at the front desk, he is polite, extremely knowledgable and very patient. He explained every question I had about my vehicle. The technician working on my vehicle ( Tory was the name if I remember correctly) is very knowledgable and well qualified for his job. Great workmanship, fantastic customer service. I am naturally suspicious of auto repair shop because of bad past experience and I know my way around wrenches and tools, I also do lots of research before I let any shop work on my vehicle. I can tell this shop does not give BS and do power sale.I have way better experience in this Kal Tire than Fountain Tire. This is definitely my go-to place for my vehicle repair.

January 2015 I brought my car in for balance all tire 2 hours later the man told me I need to replace all 4 tire. My car are run flat tire he said inside the tire the metal not attach the tire, I ask him all 4 tire he said yes and give me a quote over $2000 for it. I have to say, I was extremely impressed here. This store is the closest Kal tire located to me- at over an hour drive from my house. I went here because they were the only ones who sold the tire I wanted. Ryan, the guy who handled my sale and service was top notch. Thorough, hassle free and just a normal guy who knows tires, no pushy sales, didn't try and up sell me any un-needed service and got me in and out quick enough. For that, I will continue to drive an hour to this spot for anything tire related I need.

Went by the shop in the morning without an appointment because I discovered that my tire had a few nailes in it that were slowly draining the air from the tire. By the afternoon my tire was replaced and good to go. Overall had a great customer experience.

I was always able to book a time in the past but now it is 'first come first serve' or stand out in the cold and wait for a number. I have gone back to Cochrane Toyota where I can book times for my tire servicing.

Booked my truck in for an alignment because of some uneven tire wear. I'm a mechanic myself but the shop I work in doesn't have an alignment machine or else I wouldn't have needed to book it in anywhere. I've done hundreds of alignments. I received no phone calls saying there was any issues with the alignment. Instead I just got a text message saying "Your vehicle is now ready for pick up. Thank you for choosing Kal Tire." Assuming my alignment was done, I left work on my lunch break to pick it up. I waited for 5 minutes while the person at the front desk was on the phone. When I was able to speak with them was when I was finally informed that my alignment was not done. They didn't do anything to it. Instead they brought it in, took one look at it and handed me a quote for $1500 to change my struts. They said they can't do an alignment on my truck because my strut was leaking. I knew very well my one strut was leaking. The issue was my alignment causing tire wear. I also know very well that a leaking strut does not change anything to do with the alignment. They could absolutely do my alignment without changing struts. They just wanted a gravy $1500 payday. I guess they picked the wrong person to try to take for a ride. The worst part was the text message saying my truck was ready. No courtesy call or anyone saying my alignment wasn't done. Instead of leaving on a 45 minute trip down the Hennday in the middle of lunch rush and 45 minutes back and all the other time it took getting a ride and so on, I could've stayed at work and picked my truck up later. Instead I take my lunch break to get it done and lost 2.5 hours pay I'll be taking it elsewhere to get the alignment done. Someone more reliable and trustworthy

I went to swap my winter tires to summer tires and when I went to pick up my van the more worn tires had been installed at the back.I researched this and called other garages and went on Kal tire live chat, all confirmed that on a rear wheel drive vehicle the more worn tires should be installed at the front. When I presented this information in the store I was told that if you research the internet for facts it will tell you that we landed on the moon! His answer to my request to change the tires was I'll do whatever you want me to do without explanation as to why he had done it opposite to everyone else's opinion. Is there no standard of safety for where the better tires should be installed ? Because of his lack of interest regarding what is safer I will not be returning to this store.

Great customer service. Good prices. Honor their warranties. When I visited there were 5 cars being worked on 4 of them were BMW's (including my own) and all were less than 4 years old. Kind of makes you wonder why people are taking their new BMW's to Kal tire instead of the BMW dealership. Might be the fact that I was quoted over 1000 dollars for 2 new tires by Bavaria, yet Kal was able to provide me comparable (perhaps even better) tires for 600 bucks.

Today was the second time I have been let down by this business. The first time I had and appointment and it took them 5 hrs to get my tires changed for summers to winters. This morning I had an appointment for 9:00am when I dropped my truck off at 8:45am I asked when it would be done because I had my young son with me. I was told it should be about 1.45hrs. When we returned at 10:45 my truck hadn’t been moved into the shop. When I went inside I was told that the appointment is a two hr window. I would have been more than happy to wait another 15 mins if it was in the shop but it wasn’t so it would have been at least another hour. This is totally unacceptable what is the point of making an appointment?!?!? DO NOT waste your time going to this establishment. I called their competitors and was in and out of their shop in one hour with all 4 tires swapped out. I’ve been a loyal Kal Tire customer for a very long time and Cochrane Kal Tire has forever changed that

The positive reviews have to be fake. The people at this location are crooks. I was adjusting the pressure on my moms tires and she kept taking it to this location where they kept claiming to find a nail in the tire. They stole close to 250 dollars from this poor old lady for the same 2 tires. Make sure you find the nail before taking it to these people to repair. The few times I personally went to the st Albert and west end location they didn't even charge me for flat repair. Disgusting predatory behavior.

Bad experience the first time coming and now the second time too. First time was to put on winter tires. I had an appoinment and yet, they kept passing walk ins before me and people who were very late because they said their policies state they cant turn them down, specially on winter. It was until i talked with a young guy at the front that he helped me get my car inside. They almost passed another person without app before me, but thanks to him i was able to go first. Now, the second time. i come to remove the winter tires and my car goes inside until 30 min later from my appointment. I understand sometimes it can take longer than expected, but with my previous experience i wondered if they passed someone before me. My car goes inside and the person who was at the front desk just throws one of the tires to the side, while the others where just rolling them on the ground to set them aside (like it should be). I didn't like the attitude. I dont recommend this location, i will try a different one and hopefully the issues are just in this one and not in the others. Although, i guess their policies will be the same.

Just picked up a new car, and needed some Nokian tires. The staff was super friendly, greeted me as I walked in, and was quick and efficient with the paper work. They completed the work in the time they quoted. I have been to other Kal Tire locations, but this one stands out above the others with their service. I will recommend this store to anyone ,I have been using this location for years. I even sent my wife there once with a flat tire and they did a fantastic job of taking care of her and fixing the tire issue. I am very happy with THIS Kal Tire. YOU should come HERE!!!!!

Had my summer tires put on this spring picked it up and got to Calgary one tire down to 25 psi the rest were 35. Filled it at a Petro Canada. Took it back to Cochrane Kal tire the next day and they said it was the sensor I said no it was actually low and it was down to 30 psi he said Petro Canada gauge maybe different then his. Guess they are to much of experts to listen to a client. Had to top it up three times finally I was able to get to Kal Cochrane today. They said leave it here and we'll have it back to you maybe today by 6 pm, but I have a business to run I can't just leave my car how about you call me when it is convenient to you i said he answered nope I have 30 people ahead of you (must be low tire day) take it or leave it. Really guys fix a tire you need all day!!!! This guy just did not care and zero respect about my time and business at all. You know his answer is what upset me the town has grown and we have enough business!!! This is why so many of us drive to Calgary to get things done. Used to be a great place for service it has gone down hill guess they have enough business like he said.

Huge thanks to the guys at Kal Tire (South Common Edmonton location). I was in Edmonton for three days for work and got a low pressure warning before needing to drive home to Calgary. I came in at around 4:15 on May 26, 2016. It turned out I picked up a screw in one of my tires and had a flat. They had my car fixed and I was on the road home by 5:30, all of free of charge - meaning I made it home to be the tooth fairy for my daughter, so thank you guys!
