I went in to get my frenulum/smiley repierced thinking it had closed up (turns out it hadn't). Rhys was super knowledgeable, professional and talked me through the process while reopening my piercing and fitting me with some new jewellery and gave me good piercing care advice. I was so happy with my experience. Plus the place is completely spotless and while I didn't get the name of the guy on reception he was very kind and helpful too! will definitely be back and definitely recommend

I feel bad changing my review, but after it healed, I noticed there were some inconsistencies with the linework (not because I didn't care for it properly) My skin reacted a bit weird to it for some reason (never happened before with my previous tattoos) :( Everyone was really lovely though, the shop was really clean and bright. She was so lovely and helpful through messages right up until the day I got my tattoo, was lovely enough to even do her own version of the two tattoo ideas I had liked. Could not be happier with my experience at Primitive. I got my tattoo done by Mike and although it wasn't my first tattoo it was extremely meaningful to me. From walking in the door to walking out I was so looked after. Mike gave me his advice on the tattoo I chose and reasons as to why he suggested a different spot, which I went with and am so happy with it. You could tell that he is so passionate about tattooing and making that memorable tattoo for you. It turned out absolutely perfect (was mimicking hand writing) and I loved how attentive and supportive they were. Thank you! And I will definitely be back for my next one!

At the consult it was hard to interpret what the design was going to look like but once we went in for the tattoo the design was done beautifully and we were able to make changes on the spot. The tattoo itself was done amazingly and the artist was extremely cautious as to what me and my siblings needs were because we all had a different reaction to the tattoo. It is however extremely over priced and we spent 3x what we should have for such a small tattoo!

Had a little confusion when it came to payment but Marc sorted out all confusions. All up I would probable go there again and would say the artist do have good artistic skill. Nice and clean shop, I had a tattoo by Marc. Marc is a nice and skilled guy, he gave me all the time to talk about the design and he gave is own opinion. In the end I am very happy with the result. The only thing is that in my opinion it is quite expensive, for about 4 hours I was charged 1400 Australian dollars (about €900). But like the sign in the shop says, good is not cheap and cheap is not good.

I went to primitive a few days ago to get a tiger tattoo on my arm and all I can say is WOW. I had Bobbi and her work was amazing she did it nice a quick and carefully, the detail is amazing and the different aspects I didn't even think of when asking for a tattoo. The only thing I can really fault is the price mine was $800 and it took 2 hours which was $400/hr

I cannot recommend enough that you should visit Primitive Tattoo for your next permanent piece of body art. It's my second time visiting the guys at Primitive Tattoo on Barrack Street and I walked out happier than I could ever imagine. I popped in-store for a consult but the team at the shop were more than accommodating and Damien managed to squeeze me in at the end of his work day. I came in with two reference photos and Damien jazzed it up to a completely different level. Taking a pen to layout the design freehanded with all of my favourite aspects of the reference photo, he went to work creating a design that absolutely blew my mind. With his placement ideas and shading, Damien took the time to add teeny little details that pulled the tattoo all together. The tattoo itself was more than reasonably priced for the level of artistry that went into his work and I'm truly blessed to have this piece of art with me forever. As for the rest of the team at the studio, everyone was beyond helpful, welcoming and overall created a positively warm and inclusive environment that I would recommend to anyone who is feeling anxious about their first tattoo. Even those artists whom were hard at work when I walked in made sure to flash a friendly smile while walking around the studio. Doesn't matter how big or small the tattoo is, the whole team is there to make sure that you have a great day and walk out with a big smile on your face. I'm so grateful for everyone there for making today's experience so positive and I look forward to visiting again for another tattoo soon. :)

I booked for one whole day session with erick but in return he spent only around 4.5hrs on my tattoo and was still charged $1320. First off, we were supposed to start at 10 but the tattooist came late and secondly when he came in the shop, he had to see another customer. He started tattooing around 1130. It's just unfair and why would you book someone else at 1530 when you already knew I've booked you for one whole day session. He was rushing just so he can see the other appointment. Now I had to book again to get my white highlights done. This is so frustrating and dissapointing . The shop is only greedy about money and doesn't care about their customer. Worst customer service ever. I'll advise you to take your money elsewhere and get tattooed. I really hope Marc Pinto sorts this out with his tattooist.

I went to Perth on a holiday and got my very first tattoo done at Primitive Tattoo Studio in Perth city. Marc was the artist who tattooed me and I must say I had a very nice comfortable experience. March was extremely patient with me and answered all my doubts, this being my first tattoo, I was really anxious and literally had a physical list of questions to ask him! Marc is calm, soft spoken and really puts you at ease. Also, he even gave me the after care moisturizer for free! Planning on getting another one there on my on my next trip.

This place did not care about what I wanted at all, I ended up leaving with uneven messy script when I said multiple times the spacing was wrong and that’s not how I wanted it only to be told “it’s just the stencil”, being my first tattoo not knowing that it would show up the exact same. I don’t know how many times I said I wanted it smaller only for them to print it one mill smaller each time. When I said the writing wasn’t right they should have redone it, they were not listening at all and then said I had approved even though I had said the spacing and font was not right. There was no creative/artistic process they simply did not care.

The staff are professional and the artist very talented and worth the money they charge. If your looking for good quality tattoo that you will not regret this is the place for you. It is expensive to get tattoo in the city but they do a good job , most people know that you have to tip the artist for their time and the good work they have done for you. This is just me the sign they have on the wall which say they accept tips , I am sure they have their own reasons but it really puts me off because I know I have to live a tip but the sign makes me feel like is about money not the service. I am not saying they should not have the sign I think maybe they should use different wording that is not confronting but delivers the message.

For my first tattoo I chose a full back piece. Not a decision to be made lightly. I did my research on artists in Perth and finally settled on Marc Pinto. Marc designed the piece specifically for me and has been working patiently on it for some time now. For work like this you need to be comfortable with the artist as you know you will be spending a lot of time with them, and you need to trust them. Marc made me feel welcome in his studio from day 1 and I always enjoy my sessions with him. The new studio is bright, clean and inviting. The staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. I will continue to return here for all my work, even once the back piece is complete.

I had an ankle tattoo done and the colour was horrible it didn't even get filled in very well some of my skin still showing and some of the colour was in the wrong spots of the tattoo it should have taken a little longer then it did with 45min job it felt rushed and I asked for my money back they said to wait 2 weeks and come back to see how it healed so I came back after 2 weeks and I still wanted my money back but they tried to see if they could fix it so they asked me to sit back in the chair I didn't want to I didn't feel confident in there abilities if they couldn't do it the first time let alone a second time they refused a refund because apparently once the appointment was booked it voided any refund possiblitys so they tricked me. I have other tattoos I know that touch ups are needed to fix mistakes and I'm not saying they are horrible tattoo artist in general they are great with old Japanese style tattoos but obviously colour is not a strong skills set of there's. If you can't do something just say so tell me that you aren't good at a specific style or colour ECT so I can make a better decision don't just try to do it because you think you can slightly make it look the way the customer wants it to so you get paid. The business end made me feel like I got scammed. This is also not about every artist in that store as I only seen one for the tattoo obviously and I'm sure there are some great artists in there Rant over.

Wish I did my research before getting two pieces done here. Overpriced and unaccomodating when it comes to tattoo designs. Got a piece by Bobby and Petra each. I wanted to get a portrait of my dog, 5 minutes before my appointment (after taking the $150 non-refundable deposit) Petra informs me that she can't do it and alternatively just copies an older piece of a wolf done on another client. Completely disgusting and unprofessional. No creativity whatsoever. Go on Instagram, do some research and look for plenty of other talented artists around perth(north perth and freo have amazing artists at half the cost)

I recently got my first tattoo done by Marc. Coming in and booking my appointment I was welcomed by a friendly staff at the front desk. I was nervous when I came in for my first session as it was my first time getting tatted, but mark explained to me thoroughly of what will be happening and so on which calmed me down. I thought I was going to just lay down there with my earphones on while he was working on my tattoo. But we ended up having a great conversation the whole time. Marc listened to me of how I want my tattoo to look at the end, while at the same time telling me options that would work a bit better as well. I believe in saying “you get what you pay for.” I paid a good price with a really beautiful piece of art on my skin that will forever stay with me and will always be proud of showing off to others. I told to myself after getting my first tattoo done, I will probably wait until the next 5 years to get another one, but by the looks of it, I will probably go back within months!

Got a piece from Orazio last week and i'm not happy with the result at all. Was charged $450 for the piece on my inner bicep, which is not particularly big, and he was rushing through it as fast as he could. After 1 hour he said he was finished and the whole thing was so shakey and rough. He didn't even shave the area before starting. The studio itself wasn't very nice either. Would not recommend.

Came in with my friend for her first tattoo. For a starters the Asian lady at the counter had the worst attitude, couldn’t smile if her life depended on it and made us nearly walk out before we’d even started. Was rude, blunt and belittling. She interrupted the tattooist many times to hurry him up as a walk in was requesting a tattoo by him, made the experience terrible overall. If your getting a first tattoo and nervous about it to start of with, why on earth would you want it rushed. Way over priced, terrible staff. That Asian lady needs to go!! Your front desk person needs to be the face of the brand, she’s absolute opposite! Would not reccomend!!

I feel a responsibility to share this rating because the average stars this place has is based on tattoos, and if you're after a piercing any more than zero stars for this place is misleading. Don't go here for piercings. Just don't. I went in for an overpriced septum piercing, the young girl had two attempts (yes, it hurt) and told me "sorry it's come out crooked - this has happened to 3 other people I tried to pierce today"!!! She didn't measure or show me where the piercing would be (she was LITERALLY Stabbing in the dark), she didn't use a clamp, she used a needle reciever which I thought was only for nostril piercings - not that I'm claiming to be an expert on that. She didn't even find or pierce the correct part (sweet spot) of my septum but had no hesitation to go through with the procedure - and screw it up - twice. I was told by a professional the next day that I was lucky she had not done more damage than she had, and was horrified hearing the story of my experience at Primative, so much so that she wanted me to wait for my body to heal for a few weeks before she pierced it for me. Luckily for me it healed remarkably well and the bad job is hidden up my nose. I'm not sure how good or bad the tattoo artists are, but I think the word Primative should have been a warning flag in itself. Google piercings in Fremantle and you can easily find the awesome ladies with wonderful reviews and trust that you will be safe in their hands and won't have to hand over as much of your cash for a far better job. Don't go here, just don't.

I had my initial consult with Marc who was attentive, friendly and professional. He took all my ideas on board and gave me his opinion on what would give the best outcome which I really appreciated. The second consult was to make sure i was happy with the finished design which would take place the following week. When I arrived at the actual session Marc was lovely, making sure I was happy with the placement before we started and engaged in conversation throughout the 3 hour session. Couldn't be happier with the outcome of the tattoo but also with the service Marc provided. There was a calm and positive atmosphere on the day, from being greeted at the front by the young man behind the counter, till the end where Marc communicated with me several days after the tattoo to ensure I was happy with the result. Absolutely amazing and so happy! I was told that photo on the left (I dumb choice I got done by a friend) was unfixable and I was stuck with for the rest of my life by a tattoo artist in Adelaide. I was told that no tattoo shop would help me cover it over and I was ultimately screwed. I searched for ages to see if it was possible to get this covered and I found primitive by google search and they said they did cover ups on their website. So I walked into primitive the next day under the impression that this was “unfixable” and they looked at me shocked and said of course they could fix it. I had the pleasure of having Oz and he was amazing. He was so easy to get along with and made me feel super comfortable. I was not expecting when he said he had to “draw up my design”, for him to do it right there on the spot straight onto my body. I was so impressed. I got to cover up my design and not only that, had it personalised to my body shape and the other tattoo.

I’ve been there for 3 of my tattoos. First my back and then my whole upper arm (done in two sittings). I had two different artists for the two seperate pieces of work (Travis did my back and Oz did my arm). A little pricey but it’s on my body for life so there’s no point stinging out and spending less dollars to get a worse result. Was very happy with all the pieces of work I got done there. I found the whole experience enjoyable (despite the pain ahah). Everyone in the shop was accomodating and patient and if you needed a break there was no hesitation to give me one.
