I had an issue (unrelated to sumiko) where I was missing a huge chunk of eyebrow hair and her serum made all the hairs grow back super fast! I did threading for the first time in years, and it makes me so uncomfortable, but Sumiko was so chill with me and made me feel so calm and comfortable (seriously... letting me take 6 breaks). I got hybrid lashes done by Maria and can't recommend her enough. She is so wonderful and the quality of her work is amazing. I normally have terrible retention but her lashes lasted through a trip to Mexico full of ocean and pool water and some heavy Halloween makeup. She really takes the time to cleanse your lashes before application and takes care with your lash health. Also, the first lash artist I've been to that actually understood what natural lashes should look like, I always find other artists go way to heavy on volume. She is great during appointments as well depending on how I'm feeling on the day I've been able to nap through the appointment or chit chat with her about life. Her set-up is also very comfortable the chair is covered in a super plush blanket and she uses patches over your eyelids to help block out light (they also have a cooling effect that's quite nice). This makes the difference in a 2-3 hour appointment.

Sumiko and her team are so wonderful at what they do. I initially came in to enhance my brows and lashes, and Sumiko mentioned the skin treatments they offer for acne and scarring. At the time (this is 3 years ago) I was struggling with acne that would not budge, and years of scarring to go along with it. Sumiko created a routine of chemical peels for treatment that we would do every few months. I am SO pleased with how my skin looks today. I no longer have breakouts, and a lot of my scarring has disappeared. My Microblading has also lasted years, and the touch ups every 2 years keep everything nice and fresh. A few hours later I received a text from the owner asking me to call, after my last call experience I was very stressed to have to call. I had finally decided to book an appointment with Sumiko after reviewing her fantatsic work, and following her through her social media account. Danny was so wonderful with booking an appointment that matched my schedule and was able to answer all of my questions in a timely manner. When I got to my appointment, Sumiko quickly put me at ease, she was professional and informative, and assured me she was going to follow my natural brow. I decided to get my eyebrows microbladed around January 2018. One of my coworkers recommended Sumiko to me, saying her mom had received the microblading procedure from her and loved it. After doing research on the procedure and viewing her instagram page (sumikolui) for some of her previous work I contacted her. She booked me in for my first procedure and minutes after I received a call from her (though she did send me a text to make sure I was free). She was super bubbly and friendly on the phone, giving me every possible detail regarding what to expect, she also asked whether I had any questions for her and gave me the information I was looking for. The day of my procedure came around and I honestly couldn’t have been more excited/somewhat nervous. When I got to her place Sumiko treated me as though she’d known me forever, she was keen to talking about anything and everything, making me feel comfortable and at ease. She even allowed my friend who’s in the beauty industry to come watch her microblade my eyesbrows. My brows are pretty blonde so microblading (not to be dramatic) completely changed my life. I had 2 procedures, as well as my free touch up (done in May 2018) in a 5 month span. Sumiko is amazing, kind hearted and such a perfectionist (which I love), she puts her all into her work and her main goal is so clearly to have her clients feel happy and beautiful...she 100% reached my expectations. Sumiko and her husband Danny are amazing entrepreneurs and run such a professional, happy, tidy atmosphere. Though I had just gone to Sumiko for microblading, I ended up loving her and her little family so much I told her to call me whenever she needed a sitter for her 2 cuties (which she did). What an experience! I came to Sumiko without knowing a whole lot about microblading, nanoblading, really anything about permanent makeup. Even before the consultation, I was contacted by Danny to be given a lot of perspective about things to look for, about doing some research before committing to any practice and that in itself already made me feel like this was a place that wanted me to feel confident about my decisions. I went in unsure of what I wanted for my eyebrows as far as shape and colour and after trial and error trying a few different styles thinner, thicker, not as long or too dark and a lot of Sumiko’s patience we finally came up with what I liked. I cannot rave enough about my experience with Maria. (And Sumiko and her husband Danny for that matter) I've been going to Sumiko for a few years for lashes and have never strayed until this week. Due to a scheduling conflict I chose to get my lashes done by one of Sumiko's apprentices, and at first I was a bit nervous going to someone new, but I trusted Sumiko's confidence in her apprentice and was not disappointed! From the moment I arrived, Maria was the absolute best. She was considerate, made sure I was comfortable and content (like a spa) and so personable! She made the time fly, and it felt like we were old friends. The lashes are amazing - quality work for a reasonable price. I've even had a stranger point out how beautiful my lashes are! Sumiko must be a wonderful teacher because Maria is a pro. Even though she hasn't been doing it long, she is super talented, advanced, and clearly well trained. Amina is the best!! I had 2 primary worries concerning eyelash extensions: 1) They would not turn out the way I wanted. 2) Lying still for long periods of time. Amina was extremely receptive to my eyelash goals and worked closely with me to get the look I wanted. She's always happy to experiment with me (we did coloured ends for Halloween and it looked amazing) to get the best look for my eye shape. My lash extensions look SO natural and my eyelashes are actually healthier now that they're not gunked down by daily mascara applications. She takes care to get each lash perfect and has gotten to know my eyelashes to do it efficiently. 10/5 By far one of the BEST Aestheticians that I have had a pleasure of meeting, I have had not one but two appointments so far with Sumiko and she has exceeded ALL of my expectations and more! Before meeting Sumiko I had been interested in getting my eyebrows "tattooed" as I have given up on doing them daily but I had no clue as to what procedure to get nor did I fully understand what I wanted done. After spending countless nights trying to find a place that I feel would take care of my eyebrow needs I stumbled upon her name and a link to her Instagram and it only took 5 minutes of me scrolling through her page and looking at her work to decide that I wanted her to be my Aesthetician for my face. After an amazing video call (huge thanks to her partner Danny for helping me book the appointment when I was a tad confused) where she broke down how everything works, what procedures there are and how my skin type plays a role in the procedure I was BEYOND ready for my new set of brows. When I showed up for my first appointment with Sumiko I felt nothing but pure comfort followed with a stress free environment. She was absolutely thorough and made sure that I was aware of everything that she was doing as well as showing me every once in awhile to guarantee my happiness with her work. After my appointment I had many questions for my healing process as the days went on but yet every question I sent to Sumiko she responded very quickly with a very thorough answer to all my questions and she was more then happy to help. Naturally, I had to go back for a touch up for my brows (microshading, and yes a second appointment IS needed after your first, nothing went wrong they just faded) but I also was getting my eyelashes tinted and lifted as well. Yet again, it was a relaxing, fun appointment and she exceeded my expectations and more. I left the building with a huge smile on face knowing that my lashes and brows look the best they possibly can. Edit: I went in for another lash extension service with Sam today and had the best experience, as usual! She is very gentle and calm while doing amazing lashes that look great for weeks - she takes the time to make sure every lash is perfect. I loved my experience today! Sumiko and Hayley helped me out to relax an eyelash lift I had done by someone else that I was not happy with. They then also did lash extensions and an eyebrow tint which both look amazing!! I had an interview with Sumiko before deciding on perminant makeup on my eyebrows. Sumiko was giving me information on what styles and colors there is for perminant eyebrow makeup. She was knowledgeable and professional. I had shingles on my brows and have now scaring and loss of hair on one of my brows. Sumiko explaint to me what she can do for me but didn't put out any pressure to have her done the work. The salon is very clean and professionally set up. I was made comfortable by staff. Sumiko was very nice and made me feel comfortable. She took her time listening to me what I would like and made some suggestions what would look better. Sumiko is positive and knowledgeable person. She took a very long time for me and made sure I feel comfortable and confident in what I want. I was nervous about the process but she made me feel at ease. Since my condition and pain sensitivity, she numbed my brows few times until I felt no pain. She was checking on me and let me see the progress on my brows. I couldn't be happier with the results. It looked much better than I expected.

Sumiko beauty website provides several specific treatments and services, so I just wanted to ask some specific questions about Microblading for my eyebrows. Danny provided the best customer service ever, he explained every single detail about the treatment, and also he let Sumiko know I have a really sensitive skin and I was really worried about the treatment. During the Microblading treatment, she had explained every single step, and she kept asking me about colour, shape, and pain level. I am so grateful to meet her! First time visit yesterday and had wonderful service. Sumiko did a fantastic job, can't wait to go back. Update: since going to get my permanent eyeliner and eyebrows I must say was the best experience ever. I was a little nervous as I am not a fan of needles, but Sumiko definitely makes sure you are comfortable by using a lot of numbing cream. I didn't feel anything at all. By following her home after care instructions, the healing process was great! With my eyeliner after a few days it flaked off but totally normal and the eyebrows were a tad itchy for a couple weeks but I kept applying the after inked cream and it healed phenomenal! I would definitely recommend her to anyone! Especially anyone who may be nervous to try permanent makeup, I could not have gone to a better place. I continue to go back for my eyelash tint and perms, as the service and prices are fantastic!

Before I even arrived, I was treated to exceptional service and communication when booking an appointment. Danny was so friendly and accommodating when I had to change my booking time! I decided to commute from Guelph to see sumiko for a removal after having major issues with my previous lash artist. My lashes were in rough shape due to severe clumping and extreme adhesive glue. Due to this, Sumiko had to do a dry removal as the chemicals used in a normal removal would burn my eyes. I have no idea how, but she managed to get them all off with ZERO pain or discomfort! Her lash removal was more comfortable than when my previous lash tech would apply them!! Due to the damage from the previous lash tech, sumiko suggested waiting to give my lashes a break for 6 weeks before she applies a set. She gave me free magnetic lashes for the time being just because she felt bad for me considering the state of my lashes from someone else’s work! So nice! The level of service, professionalism, kindness, and expertise is fantastic. I am so excited for my first set of lashes in 6 weeks and so grateful for how well I was taken care of when having my lashes removed. I highly highly recommend going here, and I am happy to commute for the level of service! Thanks again!! update: the lash serum has worked wonders! after about 6 weeks my lashes are completely repaired now and longer than ever.
