I went there today for the toonie sizes tattoo for $60. They over charged me for my tattoo that was exactly the size of a toonie and took about 5 mins to do. They’re cleaning habits were also disturbing as they didn’t clean the table at all and there was about 6 people that went before me. I will not being going back.

I recently went to koi ink for the toonie sized special with two others. Which is $60 or can be higher depending on the tattoo. When showing the designs we wanted my mom was told 120 which she agreed because she really wanted the tattoo. I showed my first idea to which I was also told it would be 120 and I said no as I just wanted something that was the $60 and then showed another design and asked well this qualify to which I was told it should let me draw it up. Everything was drawn up and nothing was said about the price So I assumed that it was all good. So after getting the tattoo we go up to pay to which I am told that it well be $100 to which I just stared at my mom for a second then just paid It. She knew I wasn’t happy about it and said something as soon as we walked out to which I just said I would have chosen something smaller had I known but that I obviously couldn’t be like no I want something smaller take it off after everything was done. I feel like he just didn’t want to have to draw something new up and just hoped I wouldn’t question it before he gave me the tattoo. Silver lining tho after I get over the deception and betrayal that I feel I’ll have a cute tattoo that well always remind me of an important lesson that I have learned this past week. And at least everyone else is happy with the experience.

I've had 4 tattoos done at Koi and each experience has been great. Everyone makes you feel welcomed, the shop is always clean and they really take the time to make sure they understand exactly what you want. Rod did my most recent tattoo and it's my biggest one so I was a little nervous that it wasn't going to be exactly what I wanted, but he worked with me and it's even better than I expected! His attention to detail is crazy, he takes his time and he's gentle, never makes you feel like a burden :)

I came as a walk in called ahead, it was my friends 18th birthday so we were going to do that, when we arrived they did not ask for ID nor did we have a form that we had to fill out they didn’t even ask our names. The owner seemed very unpleasant to my other friends their also getting a tattoo and they are very over priced for a tattoo that took 6 minutes, my friend was later yelled at by the owner because when they called the person on the phone said their tattoo would cost 60 and when they asked about it before getting it done the owner got very mad and refused that,and yelled when given complaints and would show very little respect as he kept his back facing them when they were trying to tell him they were just going to leave. Very rude and also quite unsanitary no masks or sanitary products.

Got a tattoo from this place when they had a booth at the ex. It turned out awful and I contacted them through email on their website and they never replied. I had to get a cover up from a different shop to get rid of what was put on me. Don’t recommend this place

Im usually a nervous wreck going into a new tattoo cause I don't like needles, for whatever reason my brain decided so. But the place was great and the guy who did my tattoo (I don't know your name, sorry!) was super nice and friendly! Not to mention he did an AMAZING FREAKING JOB!! I'm definately going back for more tattoos in the future. Probably the best work I've gotten done this far!! 10/10 would recommend.

Very unprofessional. When I called, a guy answered on his cell and said he wasn't sure if the tattoo artist I was asking about was there, cuz he wasn't at work yet. Like, you should have a work phone and message machine at the very least. And the entrance going in was very grungy and down a dirty stairwell...felt very sketchy walking in. Wouldn't be my first choice

I got Exactly, what I wanted, where I wanted it, and turned out better that I could have imagined. Super impressive with this place! High recommend it, especially if your like me and have dealt with tattoo artists that try to change what you want, or have a 100 reason why they can't tattoo what your asking for and they acted like the tattoo is going on them... but its really for you! This place is not like this, I love it here!

Love the atmosphere at this place. I got my very first tattoo there by the owner rod, and have received a lot of great comments on it. Since then I have been going to Chris Scott for all of my tattoos (all 10 of them), I even convinced my mother and mother in law to get tattoos there, plus my best friend always comes back for more and never have I ever had a bad experience or a bad tattoo. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting, the artists are honest about their work and charge reasonably for what you ask. They are very clean and well organized and make sure you enjoy your time there. I’m always excited for my next art piece. Great work from the artists and apprentices.

I have nothing but good things to say about Koi Ink. Two weeks ago, I drove 3 1/2 hours to the city for a tattoo & an hour before my appointment I got a vague text from the artist, Hayden, saying he won’t be able to do my tattoo. I understand things happen but I was disgusted in the professionalism by him. I wasn’t offered to reschedule, so I asked for my deposit back. I called the shop and talked to Rod. He was extremely good to deal with. He was going to go out of his way to come do my tattoo until I sent him the coverup I wanted to do and he was honest with me and said could do it but it wasn’t ideal and wouldn’t look the greatest. Rob had asked if he could reschedule me with a different artist and they’d do what they could for the inconvenience. I went in yesterday. The atmosphere was hype. The place was clean. I was treated amazingly by both Rod and my artist L. Also, my tattoo was cheaper then I was initially quoted. L did amazing on the piece on my arm. I will definitely be going back to him to finish my sleeve.

Rod is honestly amazing at what he does! He takes an idea you bring to him and zones in and will let you know what to change and what looks good and what doesn’t . Brought him a piece that I really liked.. but what he did to revamp it made me LOVE IT! 10/10 for me 5 stars isn’t enough!!!!! Thank you!

I used to work at Koi Ink, and I would not recommend that anyone go there. Rodney has his apprentices do all his designs, and he won't hesitate to over-charge you if he can. Their cleaning habits are appalling and I doubt they have a basic understanding of infection control. I don't think Chris Scott cleaned his work station the entire time I worked there, and he never sterilized his equipment properly, so I'm not surprised to see that there are people complaining on here about getting an infection from him. A word to the wise; Koi Ink is one of the worst tattoo shops in Saskatoon; you would be best to avoid it.

5 plus star review to our artist L! He is an awesome young energetic guy that has wicked designs and a great steady hand who even dealt with my girlfriend moving lots. Though the reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to some shady parts from the boss. We were quoted a price and on the top end 600 for mine and 400 for my girlfriend but we would get a deal because we are getting them together. Either way I am fine with the 1000 because we loved his artwork. During the tattoo the boss kept coming in to inspect and when it was close to closing you could over hear the boss talking about payment and make sure he doesn't get ripped off and other comments about the cost and payment. They also began to discuss our facebook messages that L and I had because I mentioned we had a gift card and they left and went looking through the messages we had together. Basically at the end, before stating the cost was 1000$ like I anticipated, he asked for the gift cards first, then suddenly the cost changed. I had two gift cards, one for 100$ and another for $60. So magically my tattoo now cost $700 and my girlfriends cost $460. Quite shady to me as it seems pretty obvious why the cost went up to exact price as our gift cards. I am 99% sure this was due to the boss and not L, so we still gave a generous tip but sadly made my experience with the shop a bit sketchy. If anyone wants a tattoo I highly suggest L but i would make sure you are careful with gift cards and that you get a solid quote.

I called & asked how much for the price of a small tatoo ,they asked to give details which I did & I was told the cost was $120,however when I got the tatoo done they charged me $166.In less than a week the tatoo started to fade & it was very painful and (no its not the first time I have had a tatoo) I had to take pain killers ! my advice is do your tatoo with L he is way nicer ..

Found a post on Facebook by Ryan with openings for his flowers. I messaged him late at night to see if he happened to have any openings the next day. Ryan messaged me early the next day to say he did and away I went. Got my tattoo from Ryan 27 years after I got my first tattoo. The timing was perfect. At the exact same time I was getting tattooed by Ryan my daughter was getting a tattoo in Hawaii. Ryan was very personable and professional with very good listening skills. Ryan does amazing work!!
