I have had 6 tattoos done by Derrick and he is phenomenal. His booking system is incredibly easy to use, and he was always quick to get me in with his busy schedule. The location is easy to get to and the studio/equipment is very clean. Derrick is beyond talented and I’ve always left ecstatic. He is quick, but pays a lot of attention to detail and is truly an amazing artist. He is friendly, laid back, easy to talk too, and has great music/podcast choices to listen to while working. He always made sure I was happy with the design before starting and was incredibly patient with where I wanted all the placements. He has followed up with the healing processes a few weeks after my some of my tattoos which was incredible as well. He is quick to respond to messages, emails, and calls. He is extremely talented and an amazing artist. I love all of the work he has done and I’ll definitely be back many more times. Overall, I highly recommend Derrick and would give him 10 stars if I could. Thank you!

In my opinion Dereck is one of Ottawas top tattoo artists. He has mastered various styles, and pays great attention to detail, tattoo positioning, colouring, and line work. Something that I strongly believe is required in a tattoo ARTIST is the ability to draw your clients vision, and add original creativity to the piece. Derick does this well and exceeds my expectations.

Great shop located right on St.Josephs, pretty easy to get to but does have limited parking outside so just need to be aware about parking across the street. Derrick was fantastic for my first tattoo, I absolutely love it and It healed very well.

Very happy with my tattoo it turned out great! Derrick does awesome work.. He is quick, but careful and has a versatile skill set. He is able to draw you up a personalized tattoo and takes the time to work with you to make sure you are happy with the result before going ahead with it. Derrick also does piercings and handles his work professionally. The shop is clean and has a cool vibe that you would expect out of a true artist. I haven't trusted anyone but Sebastian from Scorpion's Sting Studio with a tattoo needle near my body, he's done nine tattoos on me (every single one I have), and has made every experience an excellent one!! I keep going back every time I have an idea or he has a new design that resonates with me. His pricing is super reasonable and he has no problems adjusting designs, making clients feel super comfortable right up until the moment the needle hits the skin, and all the way through the process as well! He is constantly checking my old pieces when I show up for new ink to ensure that they have healed properly and don't need touching up. You definitely get what you pay for here, I have never been anything less than absolutely thrilled with the final product and constantly look forward to any new designs he has posted as his artwork and ink work are amazing and so exciting to work with!!

Got a custom tattoo from Sabastian Crow Shoe, the realism and detail on this piece of art is outstanding! He takes care of client needs and works very hard at working around your schedule as well as making your idea a reality! Ultra professionalism and hygiene were given great consideration. He provides great after-care tips. He is a great conversationalist, and makes you feel comfortable and at home in the studio. If you want a real piece of permanent art on your body I highly recommend Sebastian and Derek at Scopion's Sting Tattoo Studio.

The staff are very friendly and the place is very clean. I had my tattoo done by Sebastian and he is one of the most talented artists I’ve come across in Ottawa. The amount of detail he puts into his pieces is incredible. He is very professional and makes sure his client is okay and asks if they need a break often. He also allows you to put on a movie or a tv show and makes sure that you are comfortable and happy! I will definitely be coming back to get more tattoos with him! I strongly recommend getting a tattoo here.

I have been in search of a great tattoo shop for months, especially with this covid situation cleanliness was key. I did not just want to rely on word of mouth since every person's opinion can differ greatly, so I decided to search the web, and I came across Derek. The first thing that caught my eye was the 3 S in the name of the shop, that was pretty dope! And when I called Derek he was so chill and heard me out! When I got an appointment and actually went there it was such a great experience, the store was so clean and tidy, and Derek was not only talented but a witty conversationalist. He is super outgoing,funny, and easy going you need that when you are getting a tattoo, it lightens the mood and just makes not only exciting but fun. Derek made the whole experience worthwhile, he knows what he is doing, he is quick and precise and a perfectionist. It felt like I was being tattooed by a friend and not a complete stranger! I would definitely go again! Derek thank you, you are great and say Hi to Hannah:)

Tl; dr: Impaired tattoo artists, lousy quality of work, not professional, inferior artists and very very expensive. Horrible tattoo shop. First off, the shop reeks of marijuana and one of the artist left to go smoke before a tattoo, be careful if you get a tattoo there, they might be impaired ! Secondly, the sub-par quality of work is horrendous, filling in large areas with liners, using old and less than ideal machines, moving and shoving the other artist while they are working, taking a very long time for a simple piece, touching fresh tattoos without gloves etc. Not to mention the actual artist who aren't that good themselves with problems with shading and having clean lines. Thirdly and the absolute worst, the price! WAYYYY too overpriced for the inferior work and lack of professionalism.They charge by hour and they make sure to take their sweet time and include the time they take during the tattoo to do other things (changing machines very slowly, greeting other clients, talking to the other artist...) in the price of the tattoo! If anyone wants a tattoo, go to any other artist at any other tattoo shop and you will be better off. I am sad to say that out of my many years of tattoo experience this was the absolute worst.

EDIT* I am not changing any of my original review but have left a PS at the bottom. TLDR There were some major communication errors with my tattoo that left me feeling very negatively about a beautiful piece. I hate writing negative reviews but this studio deserves it. My tattoo looks amazing but I cannot appreciate it because of the horrible breach of trust. I booked the appointment and the design and was quoted 200-300. When I arrived the design was scaled up and he tattooed it. At the end I was told I owed him 670. I almost died. It is a beautiful piece and he did a good job but this sleazy underhanded business practice guarantees I will never go back. If he had told me that his scale up would cost me more than double I would have got him to change it. Or if he had told me before he started the background. Or really at any point I could have done something about it. But instead at the end when I have no choice but to pay him I had to panic and freak out because I did not have the money. I am so mad that all of the joy of my tattoo was stolen by this violation of trust. This is 100% the reason tattoo artists get a bad name. Quotes exist for a reason. EDIT I am not going to change any of my original wording as it reflects how I felt when I got home from my appointment. After the artist reached out to me I do see how somethings are not being made clear here. I am upping my review to 3 stars because he was right to say that the work of the tattoo is amazing and I do have a beautiful original piece I love in the years to come. Instead I am just going to clarify what issues I have. It is not about the money although money ends up being the case of the issues. The piece is beautiful and I would be willing to pay what I did if I had been able to give an informed decision. My issue is the lack of communication. If at any point in the tattoo from beginning to any of the breaks taken I had been made aware of the running cost I could have chosen to stop and continue another day. Or if I had been told in the beginning I could have done something about it. I also just think artists should be more upfront about their hourly rates.

Derek shop owner was very helpful from beginning when I received the quote for my tattoo. His shop is clean, neat and organized. He has an amazing skill set for creative drawing. He really brought all of my ideas to life! Atmosphere was extremely comfortable and professional. I would recommend everyone check him out! He does beautiful work and a definite hidden treasures of the Orleans area!

I don't usually give negative review but I have to on this one... I booked the appointment 2 months in advance, when I showed up the owner/tattoo artist asked me : did you send me your sketch. I was pretty easy goi g about it as it was my first tattoo long story short this ended happening on my third appointment as well as the second. This guy o ly talked about his break up with a younger girl all session long. He seemed to have lost the passion for what he's doing. I initially came in for a full sleeve tattoo and it is a mess. I'm so grateful that I met a different tattoo artist that took the time to work on the project before the session. Derek the owner/ tattoo artist is not recommended to any of my circle and I hope you dont go there either.

Do not recommend this tattoo studio! Went and got a tattoo for my sister, they didn’t let me pick the size of the tattoo that is going on my BODY! Couple days later I noticed that it didn’t get filled in fully! It was supposed to be fully black inside the tattoo and they didn’t Cover it up. you can see my skin in half the places. Will not be going back there! I will stick to Inksession!

I recently got a tattoo from Sebastian and I love it! The whole experience was fantastic. He was able to free hand draw it directly on me and the flow of it is perfect. The colours he chose work beautifully together and kept it soft and feminine, just like I wanted. Not gonna lie, the foot and ankle are pretty painful but Sebastian had such a calm presence, I was able to find my ‘happy place’ and tough it out. I would recommend Sebastian to everyone I know and actually already have, my Mom is next. ;) I will definitely be getting my next tattoo from him.

Save your time, your money and your skin! Derrick arrived an hour late to my appointment, high as a kite, with no design ready. He is aggressive, manipulative and unprofessional. I was made fun of and disrespected in front of other clients and robbed of my money. I truly regret ever stepping foot into the Scorpion Sting Studio and hope to save some people the same scarring experience that I went through. There are far better artists in Ottawa which will treat you right, avoid this place at all costs!
