Terrible service and management hands down. I thought Chris was dope until he closed the door in my face after confronting him about the errors in my tattoo. Thank you Shawn for handling the situation, proper. You ask me to come in so you could see what I was talking about to only sit on your butt and stare and act like you can't do anything. Why did you ask me to come back in? All good yo, note to self, terrible customer service. I didn't even come in to cause a scene. I came in to address a serious situation and was rejected because I didn't want Chris to make errors on me again. Tattoos are permanent. Your job as an artist is to make sure your client is happily satisfied, for life. All Chris had to say was, "it was a human mistake". And I said, "So are you gonna make another human mistake on me?" I am an artist too bro... And if I messed up I would own it, let alone try to have my client(s) leave happily satisfied. An apology could have sufficed the situation, and being a man of your word. Originally, he agreed to given me a discount on my next one because, they don’t do refunds. Other note, nothing on their waiver said they do not give refunds. I came in to discuss the discount and find out what I am entitled to. Apparently nothing. Sorry I don’t trust you as an artist, you made me feel like I couldn’t especially how you responded and treated me yesterday. My tat is basic and simple. Right before he inked the 4, I made a comment and he cut me off and said, “don’t worry, the 4, I got chu”. No, I got screwed. Thank you Platinum! I left neither happy nor satisfied. Shop deserves a ZERO ..not even one star.

We started our day with 3 people getting tattoos. app 12:30. but ended up two people getting piercings .. The tattoo guy started off late to open the shop and then just keeped trying to get us to change what we wanted or leaving us. Im sure he is good at his job just dident seem to want to tattoo that day. By 3:30pm we said forget it.. SO very happy to say No Tattoos but the Piercing lady was GREAT very nice, she sat with us talked to us when i got My piercing she took very good care of me. So the Star's are for the piercing Lady. Only.

The staff was kinda friendly but when the artist left and came back she didn't wash her hands before putting on gloves. She missed sorts and when I asked her to fill them in she was rough and did it in an angry way. Also lines are messed up and need to be fixed. i'm not happy with it at all

Most of the negative reviews are based on an individual who no longer works there. I got a piece done by Eugene and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had getting a tattoo (I have many) They played great music, were down to earth and I would highly recommend getting a tattoo here now.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! This place is utterly ridiculous. I have never witnessed and experienced such disrespect and unprofessionalism in my life. Does no one make their own judgements anymore, that you allow someone else to speak for you, Shawn? I am super disappointed in how this "business" handles their customers when a mistake was made. Tattoos are permanent. Chris, if you are going to go around constantly making permanent mistakes on people, you probably shouldn't be a tattoo artist. How is someone suppose to trust you? I can't believe that I witnessed a door being closed in someones face and such unnecessary profound language. Chris, you are dismissive, defensive, unreasonable and extremely unprofessional! You need to reflect on your actions, because with your attitude, this business you are working for, won't last. Platinum has been open for less than 2 months, and you already have problems with your customers. That's just sad. It's 2018, handle your business with respect for others and professionalism. Learn customer service! As for my tattoo. It's only my second one, and it could of been way better. I got done a simple map outline of where I come from. My tattoo was done by Chris, and I also left unsatisfied. A permanent mistake was not made on me, however, Chris could not successfully preform crisp even lines. There are lines that are either way too thin or don't touch and meet up with other lines. Lines are basic! Chris also failed to let me know that he was going to stipple a section of it. All he said at the time was "Don't worry, I'll do something nice." ...Don't hate it, but don't necessarily love it. I should love the tattoos I choose to get on my body, and you took that from me. Overall, Platinum is terrible and needs to make tremendous improvement on their business if they are trying to make it in the long run. Right now, they don't even deserve 1 star, but 0 stars isn't an options.

I have had many piercers who just want you straight in and out and don’t take time to talk, answer questions and be friendly but Sarah is the best piercer Ive ever had shes is friendly funny and professional not to mention very clean! So amazing I feel like I’ve made a new friend haha! Definitely recommend Sarah as your piercer

Daughter went for eyebrow piercing. No appointments given. You get to sit and wait ion dirty stairs until staff comes out to check. Could be an hour or more. Don’t know mask policy but somebody passed us down the narrow stairs without a mask. Expecting people to wait this way during a pandemic is crazy. Owner said he did not know who was vaccinated on staff and who was not. Also stated it did not bother him. Considering close proximity of client and staff I would have expected some questions about travel etc the usual Covid prevention questions. No names numbers nothing. I guess if you want to put yourself in a position of possible Covid transmission then you have nothing to worry about. I would not recommend getting piercing done here. You might be better off to call somewhere where an appointment is given and there is some effort to make sure clients at least feel safe.

I had a terrible experience with this shop. I have been tattooed over 20 times in the past 15 years and I have never had a tattoo done so poorly (and that includes work I've had done by apprentices). I went to Platinum Tattoos & Grillz on March 3rd, 2017 and was tattooed by Chris Duval. His decent portfolio and willingness to do my tattoo gave me no indication that I would end up with such a hack job permanently on my wrist. There is no line width consistency. Some lines are as thin as a pen and others are thick like the end of a sharpie marker. There are spots where the lines don't meet, overlap, or aren't even straight. When we discussed placement he noted that it couldn't be too close to my wrist, but when he laid the stencil out he ended up putting it too close. He only told me this after the tattoo was completed, as he pointed out that he had to "correct" the shape of the tail to avoid where my wrist pivots. As you can see from the pictures, what I ended up with looks nothing like what I provided as reference. I'm furious and requested that I get my money back ($80). He refused and said that I could come back for a retouch. If this is the sort of work he does there is no way that I will go back for him to "fix" it. Either he's not qualified to be tattooing or he just doesn't care about his customers or his work. Now my only option is to try to get someone else to fix it and pay again or pay to have the whole thing covered up. Beware of this shop and this artist.

Even the prices are better than most other shops. I've been disappointed with work from other tattoo shops but platinum has never let me down. Thanks again guys keep up the good work

I've had many piercings over the years, and some terrible experiences at places like Silverline and Planet Ink in this city... This place has the best piercer ever. Never got her name but her techniques were flawless, and everything pierced is on its way to perfect healing, and after about a week or two all swelling completely alleviated. I'll definitely be back! Just a heads up- don't worry if you end up waiting a bit before your appointment- the piercer takes careful time with each client, as she will with you. Any piercing you want in the city of Ottawa- this is your girl.
