I lost count of how many people wandered in just to catch up with the staff while I was there. He was funny, personable, talented and fast...he is also passionate about his work and does NOT take any shortcuts. (From years ago, but important) DO NOT RECOMMEND unless you get different artist. My friends and I went to toby to get matching tattoos. We went later in the evening and by the time only one of us was finished it was getting late, so we told Toby that it was too late in the night for all of us to complete our tattoos and asked if there was any available appointments the next day or some other time. He then stopped us from leaving the tattoo parlor and said we had to finish them today. We were taken back and a bit scared that he wouldn't let us book a different appointment, but we stayed there and finished our tattoos. When we were getting tattooed, he took a phone call (gloves on) and walked to his desk to book the client who called, wrote down what they wanted, grabbed some food and when he finished he didn't replace his gloves, just continued tattooing my friend. Those gloves just touched everything in that studio. When it our tattoos were finished he wiped down the tattoo chair then wiped down our tattoos with the same wipe. Took a photo of our tattoos and posted them to his facebook (he did not ask) and wouldn't let us pay until we also made a Facebook post about our tattoos and tagged him. I DONT RECOMMEND

I've wanted the lily tattoo for a long time now and it is finally done and more than i've expected :) Quality of work is amazing, I would have thought it would have taken a lot longer to complete the design he worked with, however he searched, drew up the design and put it on within less then 2 hours total! I already want to book another session for another tattoo! I highly recommend you to contact him for your tattoo :) Very professional and was able to work with my schedule and time to get me into the chair, with my busy work schedule. I have been getting tattoos for years, and this last experience was the first time I have ever been charged for anything other than actual tattooing time. I had discussed the cost with the artist prior to attending the shop, and was advised they charge for drawing the tattoo. I have paid for a commissioned piece before, but not one done by the person who was tattooing it. The artist agreed not to charge me for drawing. Day of, I was in the chair for 1.5 hours but charged for 2.5. When I asked the artist about it later, he said I was paying for his art and also helping to support his family. He said he charged 1/2 hour for the stencil and 15 minutes each for set up and tear down. Essentially - I was charged for the drawing. I didn’t agree to this extra charge, nor would I have agreed to it if he had told me beforehand. Further, his wife was the one who cleaned up after my appointment and set up for the next one so I don’t understand why I would be charged the artist’s hourly charge. I’ve gotten several tattoos here and I love every one of them, but I’m afraid I won’t be coming back for another one and I won’t be recommending the shop to others. Edit: changed my review from two stars to one because the owner has failed to take responsibility for this or even acknowledge that he changed the price after the fact. Instead, he’s acting like I’m some cheapskate loser looking for a cheap tattoo. To be clear, I think artists are entitled to set their prices - art is worth what people are willing to pay, but in order for people to be WILLING to pay, you have to tell them the actual cost. You can’t lie and then add more charges when so you can make some extra money. Edit edit: after calling me a “cheap ass” and belittling me on social media the shop refunded the full amount of my tattoo even though I was only disputing the extra hour they charged.
