I've been Pierced by Amus multiple times and I'm ecstatic they were able to open their own shop. Shop is clean and well cared for and at a pretty decent location Easy to find parking, and pop by for a bubble tea, coffee or bite to eat before or after appointment! I've always been happy with both the piercing experience and the aftercare with Amus. I've been planning to get tattooed there by one of the resident tattoo artists as well, this is a great new studio and Victoria is lucky to have it!

As someone who has been to countless piercers over the last 19 years, I can confidently say that Amus who owns Proper Poke is the most skilled piercer I’ve been to. They take pride in their work and it really shows. Amus has fixed some old piercings for me as well as added some new additions and every time they treat me with the same care and professionalism as though I was brand new to it all, which I love. The shop staff are also very attentive and everything is so clean! Thank you for taking care of our holes, Amus!

Got my septum pierced here and the service and professionalism was fantastic. Amus makes sure all their clients are comfortable and at ease before any procedure by walking them through exactly what will take place (which is awesome if you're being pierced for the first time), and aftercare instructions were clear and helpful. Studio is super clean & modern with strict Covid protocols in place for clients & staff. Above all though, Amus is kind and personable and will take good care of you during your appointment! If you want a piercing in Victoria (or tattoo for that matter - I have work done by some of Proper Poke's tattooers as well), go see them.

Seriously I have to say this was an amazing experience. The shop itself doesn’t feel like your traditional tattoo and piercing shop. The design is clean, fresh and well laid out. I went in for a tattoo today with Elise and I was shook how clean and sanitized she was the entire time I was there. I felt safe comfy and knew my well being was taken care of! I went on Monday to Proper Poke and got my septum pierced. Amus was so professional and very nice, they made the whole process smooth and I felt very included the whole time. Got in touch with Amus in August to get a couple of piercings done but had to put it off until last weekend due to prolonged (non-contagious!) illness. Amus was understanding and flexible throughout that whole process, and I finally got my helix and upper lobe done on their first day in the new Proper Poke space. Jada, Amus’ receptionist, and Amus were both extremely timely and professional, and the space was welcoming, clean and organized. I’m pretty shy, but Amus was great at keeping me talking and focused on discussing the intricacies of their new autoclave, instead of the needles going through my ear! Both piercings were barely noticeable pain-wise (full disclosure: I used some Emla topical analgesic before my appointment) and the healing process so far has been super smooth. I literally would have no idea my upper lobe piercing is new - no swelling, no pain, no itch, absolutely nothing. My helix is healing well - after only a couple of days the swelling is down enough that the post has a LOT of room on it, and it doesn’t hurt nearly as much as I thought it would (although it still hurts plenty ????, as though it’s been stabbed by a piece of metal ????). I’d thought these would be my last piercings but the whole experience has me changing my mind on that - either way, I wouldn’t let anyone else near me with a piercing needle at this point, given how seamless and professional Amus was.

No transparency regarding what they actually do for piercings, money grab practices, double charging for unnecessary jewelry, and poor customer service. Do not get a septum piercing here. I’ve had mine pierced previously and felt little to no pain, when pierced here it was extremely painful and bled a lot.

From start to finish this was a fantastic experience. The high standard of shop and what a guality shop should be , level of perfesional , respectful and safe environment for getting body work done was perfect. This is a very inclusive and welcoming space. Doors have only been open a short time and will be adding more mod services soon such as tattooing. I look forward to being a customer again.

Amus pierced my philtrum in August, and it was one of the best piercing experiences I've had. They are so personable and professional! We had some good chats and laughs and then when it was game time, they turned into a yoga coach. So calming and stress-reducing! My piercing is so perfectly placed.. My face is not symmetrical at all and they were able to make it appear to be centered. It's perfect. Can't wait for my next piercing appointment with Amus!!

I saw Amus a month ago to get a labret piercing done. They were by far the most gentle, kind piercer I have ever been stabbed by! They were extremely professional and made sure to explain everything that was happening, as I was nervous after not having had a piercing done in quite a few years. They were lovely to chat with throughout the process, and their booking assistant was very helpful when I had some follow up questions a few weeks later.
