The place was comfortable, clean and nice. Raymond was our piercer. He knows what he is doing and even gave us an insight on the pain we'd be expecting. He would tell me to breathe in and out at the right times even used comedy to keep me calm because this was my first time getting pierced.He even gave us a few suggestions. He made the piercing fast and efficient which helped me a lot. He even was generous enough to not charge us tax. Would highly recommend and would defiantly come back to get more piercings and tattoos here.

I got my conch piercing at this place. Overall, Danika was very professional and knowledgeable about her work. The piercing was $70 including the jewellery which was titanium. $70 is a bit expensive in comparison to most places but everything was clean, quick and pleasant so I'm fine with that price. This location did not sell any aftercare products which was inconvenient but I went to Shoppers Drugmart and got saline solution there. Danika told us if we had any issues, to call her. A few days later, my piercing got infected (unrelated to the store- I'm just prone to infections) so I wanted to ask Danika how to take care of it. I'm giving it a 4 star rating because I called the store 3x on different times and days and left a voice mail but no one replied to my call. I ended up going to a different parlour which picked up my call immediately and went there for professional advice.

But When I send her email to get an idea of how much it’s going to cost me , she was so rude to me it was a big disappointment to see how terrible their customer service is!!!!! I definitely rather go somewhere else and even pay way more but at least have someone that knows how to talk to clients! The reviews are all fake! She has zero idea how to talk to a customer !

The mark of a great artist, such as Ben at NYI, is shown not only in his art, but also in the amount of preparation he makes long before needle touches skin. His attention to the little details shows you his appreciation for your business and his respect for his own work. To date, Ben has worked on three of my tattoos, and I will definitely have more for him to do in the future. The shop is clean and tidy. The staff is laid back yet professional. The location is convenient, being just a few blocks away from North York Centre. 5/5 – Highly recommended!

I recently got lobe piercings here and the earring I received broke off. I have never had an earring break off. The fact that it did is one thing but it’s another when I tried to reach out to them. I called about five times at different times and no one answered. I wrote them an email and no one responded. Finally I had to write to the piercer on Instagram? Like zero customer service. This happened a week after the piercing, I think out of good faith they should have offered to redo the piercing or at least respond back to me. How is it professional that I had to reach out to the piercer to get an answer on how to save the piercing. It’s like they’re all individual people working out of one place. The piercing treatment itself was fine, but the aftercare or lack of was terrible. I suggest they hire a receptionist and have some kind of after care policy. Just so disappointing.

I did my first tattoo there few months ago and it was amazing. Everybody there super nice and willing to help. After done with my tattoo, they told me about aftercare and everything. Few weeks later I had questions and my tattoo artist answered every question on Instagram and gave me an opportunity to do a touch up in few months for my colour part of tattoo. Highly recommend this studio for service level and super clean place♥️

Got scheduled for nose ring change..after coming they say they don't have a hoop riing. I probably wouldn't have come if I would have known that prior. They don't take the blame and say it's the size of the nose that they have to check only after coming. I don't understand. If the stock is low, they could have very well informed. Came for a basic earlobe piercing. Saw Taylor. The experience was friendly, thorough, yet efficient. I was in and out in minutes without feeling at all rushed. Felt absolutely nothing during the actual piercing process. Received good aftercare instructions both verbally and on a printed card. All in all, excellent. I felt being rip off. You charged me $20 +HST to take off my piercing was DONE by you. It took you 2 seconds and it was you whom put it on. $20 was not a big deal, but the experience made me felt like you just want to grab money was horrible. you can have that $20, but you will never get another business from me or my connections again. In response to the reply, I don’t know if it’s industry practice to not give any cleaning after taking piercing off. But my experience with you was that the jewelry you put on got stuck there and I had no choice but go back and have you take off. It is fine if you have to charge me for the set up fee. But I asked if you can at least clean it after you take it off and you refused. Now.. three weeks after, my ear is still swollen. I don’t know what you did when you take it off, but I guarantee you only care about cover your industry set up fee than your customer. I would be more than happy to pay you $200 if you took care of it and make me felt I was taken care of. But clearly, that recovery of fixed cost is more important to you.

Ben was both patient and meticulous in making sure the placement was right, and checked in with me throughout the session to make sure I liked what I was getting. Overall from start to finish, Ben and his staff made the whole experience smooth. Great studio and friendly atmosphere--- I highly recommend this place for your tattoos!

Spot is a little difficult to find. Space is cool, and people are nice. I went in to get a jewelry/jewelry placed in for my triple forward helix. The jewelry was decently priced- $10- but I found it a bit absurd that it costed twice as much to have the jewelry put in. Most places i've been in Toronto do it complimentary, or for $5-$10. The piercer was nice, however he was laying on the clients chair, feet where clients heads go, and watching Youtube. It was whatever but he didn't sanitize my piercing hole before putting it in which is also unlike anywhere else i've been. He did use gloves though..

If you are looking for a great tattoo shop that is friendly, spotless and has amazingly talented artists then you need to RUN not walk, to North York Ink. All of the tattoo artists there are super talented but it was my good fortune to be paired with Edgar. Edgar is as talented as he is sweet and kind. He has a gentle touch and his attention to detail is amazing. I usually wear headphones and blast my music to get through tattoos but this time my headphones never left my bag. He is so gentle that before I knew it, he was done. There is SO much talent at North York Ink but going forward, Edgar is the artist for me!! EDIT: The way that this business gaslights their customers and their negative reviews is indicative of the way they handle customer service and show how much they care after they got their money. I did reach out before several times by the phone number that they have listed on Google and no one got back to me which is why I wrote out a detailed review of my experience. The only answer I got from the business was a response to this review and I can see how much they care. Good businesses are accountable for their mistakes and don't make it the customer's fault. I know that customers are not always right but I wrote out an issue that affected me due to this artist after taking the steps that I needed to take and this is the response I got. I don't trust the people here at all. Not compassionate nor take ownership of any issues. People make mistakes, we are only human. This business was not able to admit that maybe a mistake was made by Nadia, a human? I wouldn't have faulted them if they had taken ownership of a bad experience, but they didn't. Not a business I would ever want to interact with for an issue and definitely don't want to come back. --------- Don't come here for tattoos at all. Ever. Ever. Ever. Came here for a tattoo recently, was helped by Nadia. Was friendly enough and her work looked like it was going to be detailed and careful. She was not detailed nor careful. She dug her needle in too deep into the skin and the ink is now bleeding into the rest of my skin and the lines are ruined. The lines that were supposed to be thin and fine, are crooked, thick and unflattering.The tattoo looks awful now and looks nowhere near what the design originally looked like. It looks like it was done by an amateur working in his mom's basement. There are spaces in the lines and the work is very uneven. I don't want to show this tattoo off at all or look in the mirror. Very disappointed that I came here and I'll be looking at tattoo artists who are actually good at their job to cover up this mess. This was a special piece to me that I really wanted to have well done. I am pretty upset with the experience and the careless artists that work here. Nadia didn't even bother to check back on her work to see if everything was done right. No follow up, no messages again. I don't know how they are still in business, maybe their piercings are their greatest seller? Just don't come here for tattoos unless you want a lifelong mistake

Danika did a great job with my nostril piercing except 3 stars because this place doesn't answer their phone or respond to emails for follow up questions, as well as their answering machine is nonexistent. This spot is right near me and yet I've been getting tips for healing and new studs from Bamboo all the way in Etobicoke because they answer their phone and always want to help me. Wish you had better communication. While I'm here - do you reshape long nose studs? I ordered a beautiful L shaped nose stud, however the stem that goes through my nostril cartilage is too short; do you have the tools to reshape the stud and put it in my nostril? How much do you charge for this service? I work long hours seven days a week and had to book time off work just to get my piercing done 6 months ago, which is why I wish you communicated other than in person.

Nadia was able to both calm my nerves as well as perfectly depict and create what I wanted. I went on a sunday night when nobody else had appointments, and the vibe really managed to make me feel comfortable and not intimidated. Tatoo was done as expected but I was charged more that the expected. I was given a quotation round 120$ but charger 210$. I have changed the design slightly but I was not told that there is a change in the price for the new design. After Tattooing, I was asked to pay 210$. Its always better if you inform the cost for the tattoo upfront. Customers do not want any surprises at the end.

I recently got my cartilage pierced by Raymond Robbins and he did them very well!! It barely hurt since he’s experienced and quick with the piercings. He got them done under five minutes and he was really friendly so I wasn’t scared at all! 10/10 recommended for getting your piercings!

They didn't plan my project well from the start. Didn't get what I wanted now I'm stuck with what's on my arm. The artwork is good but the positioning is not at all what I wanted. The project went over budget and over the amount of sessions that was explained to me. I would suggest just getting what they offer and if you have something unique to do to go somewhere else.

5 stars aren’t enough! The shop is super clean, the staff upon entering are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance was just right. With nice music playing in the background, not too loud. The artist who did my tattoo was superb! Made sure I was comfortable. Plus his work is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I love love love my new tattoo!!!! (thank you) One interesting feature is the skylight, and being able to watch the clouds while the calming music played helped. The options for payment and the shop being accommodating to such was super amazing!!!! Highly recommend!

Got a septum piercing a few months ago from Taylor, and it was a great experience. She was friendly, professional, and did a great job with the piercing. I really appreciated the tips and info she gave me about the healing process - especially glad that she warned me that the jewelry can look crooked for the first few days if there’s a bit of swelling. Mine did look a bit crooked at first and I would have been upset if she hadn’t warned me! After the first few days any swelling went down and it was obvious that it was perfectly straight and well placed in the “sweet spot.” Taylor also swapped out the jewelry in my rook piercing, which had never been changed since I got it pierced 6 years ago. I had been so nervous about having the jewelry changed because my rook was a b*tch to heal in the first place, and it gets irritated pretty easily. And I LOVE that piercing, so I was worried about messing it up! It was super hard to get the old jewelry off after so long (my cartilage anatomy also makes it harder to get at) and I’m so glad Taylor was the one to do it, because it went so smoothly and any irritation was gone within a day. The studio in general seemed clean, and Taylor followed all sanitizing/sterilizing protocols from what I could see! Very happy.

I think these other reviews are fake. I would stay clear of this place... their staff are super unprofessional and they really don't know how to tattoo properly. Just their attitude alone, you can go pay some better tattoo artists to take care of your work, and you wont regret it

Had a walk-in tattoo done by Benjamin yesterday and 10/10 would recommend! He was super friendly and accommodating, took his time and gave me a tattoo I am in love with :) He made sure to ask about my budget and kept me within my preferred price range without skimping on the tattoo's quality. This was my second tattoo at North York Ink after a good experience the last time around (with William). The place is really clean and has a nice atmosphere, (ie it's not at all intimidating as I've found some other places can be for first-timers). These guys are amazing!

I came to nyi to get my cartilage pierced and the place is great! At the beginning, there was a little communication error with the appointment times, but Ben was extremely nice and apologetic about it. The piercing process was great and I didn't feel rushed at all and my piercer let me take all the time I needed to decide where I wanted the piercing. My piercer was really knowledgeable and was extremely gracious to answer all of my long list of questions lol. She was also great at reassuring my anxiety and helping me calm down lol. She was really patient and helpful and included me in the process and let me know what she was doing. Overall great place, and friendly staff! The laptop stickers was a great bonus lol

This place really deserves a 5 star. The staff and service are amazing. Ray pierced my belly button and i literally didnt feel a thing! It even hurt less than my ear piercings which i didnt expect at all. Would definately recomend getting pierced here!

This review is on behalf of my husband who did not want to post. He had seen William at North York Ink a couple months ago and asked for a full sleeve asap. Moving forward William had not followed up with him and my husband would have to send him reminder texts to follow up. Last experience was in December when William told him he can see him to finally start after Christmas - but again no follow up. My husband ( very patient) in January followed up with William only for him to tell my husband he is too busy now! My husband who has a very calm personality shared with me - all he wanted was William to let him know earlier he could not see him . 2 months wasted of him waiting and messaging him. I hope anyone in the future who schedules with North York ink is aware some artists are very unprofessional because as we know in the service industry communication is so important

I very rarely write reviews; I went here this summer so it’s been a while. But i got an mail asking for my review recently, so i decide to write it. I got my ears piercing and it turned out fine. But the girl who took my payment complained about my tip right after i turned around to leave. I didn’t point it out then, but it was very rude to do that behind my back. Never going back. (I also DID tip, which is what really shocked me, had i not tipped it would be understandable(but still not okay))

I received my first ever tattoo at North York Ink about a month ago and I could not be happier with my choice. I mainly choose this place over others simply because the staff made me feel welcome and are genuinely nice people. Booking an appointment was really easy - I emailed them and within a day I had gotten a response. I had gotten my ink from Alexander whose mastery of the art helped turn my idea into a beautiful looking tattoo - the fine lines are straight, no blown out ink, he didn't over work the skin during shading. Having seen the other artists at work, everyone is super talented and are all great with what the style they do. You will be in good hands with whichever artist you choose to get a tattoo with here. I appreciated the effort made by the shop to provide a safe and clean environment by having masks available at the front, have all the workstations socially distant from each other, and I was able to see the artist set up the table and needles to make sure all the tools were new. That made me feel at ease and confident that these guys are all about their customers safety. The staff explained the after care thoroughly to someone who is a n00b. They told me what I should be expecting during the weeks - flaking is part of the healing process so don't freak out - and my tattoo healed nicely without complications. I will be getting more tattoos here in the future.

My best friend and I got multiple tattoos with Nadia today and I have to say we were both beyond impressed from start to finish! She was so kind and caring, made us feel comfortable and extremely professional! The shop and the artists are impeccably clean! Nadia's an artist and her work is just AMAZING! We went in for 1 tattoo and left with 5 combined. She was so patient with us and certainly worth every dollar! You really get what you pay for! Would highly recommend!!
