Feeling a little nervous, but excited, Jamie made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process which was about 2 hours and 30 minutes (by the way, I'm deadly afraid of needles and I was amazed with how calm I was). She definitely showed that she truly cares about her clients and gave me the best tattoo! Jamie was kind and her space was very clean as well. I followed Jamie for a while on instagram before reaching out for an appointment. Her work is so versatile, she's naturally very artistic and you can tell in her work. I think what I appreciated the most about Jamie's work is that she is not married to a particular style or "type" of tattoo. She worked with me to understand what I was looking for and incorporated her own style into it. She's professional, follow up was prompt, and I didn't feel like I had to chase her (which has happened with another artist I had gone to for other work). I showed Jamie some examples of what I was thinking and she sent me designs with a quick turnaround. I gave her feedback and asked for revisions and she was happy to do it. There is no ego with Jamie she really listens to what you want. Her studio is clean, tidy, and private so if you're a female doing a rib or back piece it's more comfortable. I will definitely be going back to Jamie for my next tattoo!!

Just got my finger tattoos and I'm so thrilled with them! Jamie was amazing, her energy was great and everything went so smooth. I was telling her today about how I have wanting my finger tattoos for quite some time and went for a consult at a big tattoo shop known in Vancouver but left feeling horrible. They told me that tattoos on hands were "job killers" and "marriages don't last forever". The thing that made Jamie so so amazing was the way she talked to me, she expressed all the important details about finger and hand tattoos while being enthusiastic and that's what made me know she had to be the person who did mine!! Not only is her energy fabulous, she is so organized! The contract, waiver, reminder, follow-up is impeccable!! I have 2 other tattoos but the level of organization and customer service delivered by Jamie is 200% higher! I highly recommend and know she will deliver more than your expectation ????

I was scheduled for my tattoo appointment April 2020. Shutdown happened and a year and a half later I finally got my first tattoo! Initial set up and communication was supreme, quick, and easy. Jamie was swift and thorough with all her replies to my questions both in the beginning and throughout shutdown. We emailed back and forth a few times during the shutdown rescheduling process and I had no issues with getting a new appointment on the books. The shop is clean and well lit and easy to find. Jamie opened all her items in front of me and made sure I was comfortable during the tattoo appointment. She took great care in her art, placement of the stencil, and making sure I was happy with the process. I recommend her 110% for amazing art, skill, conversation, and business.

I brought my own design to get tattooed by Jamie, because I really liked her works that I've been seeing from her instagram. However, I had the worst experience for my first tattoo. The service was unbelievably bad, rude and unacceptable (tbh I am quite shocked by all these good reviews). When the tattoo was done, it was missing couple of lines (the design I sent had a small diamond, but it was tattooed as a square), so when I mentioned her about it she was actually blaming on the design that I brought, that it was too detail that her stencil couldn't pick it up, and almost wanted to rush us out saying that she has a next customer coming (tattoo took less than 15 mins). Finally, she could drew one more line in it, even though that wasn't the design that I asked for originally, it was too late to fix it and now I have a tattoo on my arm that lost the meaning that I wanted to imply and has been quite frustrated every time I see it. Since it's already tattooed, I can just satisfy with what I have and live with it, but every time I see it, it just reminds me of the worst-night mare experience I had with Jamie, how she was being very unprofessional with unacceptable-manner with her customer the whole time. I'd never go back, and I hope that she becomes more professional and doesn't just show her negative moods/emotions for no good reasons.

Even though it was a free tattoo, Jamie really took her time to understand what I wanted. I was so amazed when I drew up a sketch and sent a couple reference images that she was able to create nearly exactly what I wanted first go! I never write reviews... the fact that I am writing this means a lot, so please read below if you are serious about getting a tattoo, especially for first-timers: I just got my peony and rose tattoo on my hip and am loving it!! It is healing so fast, barely any scabbing. Compared to my first tattoo experience (was done elsewhere) as well as hearing from others' experiences, a few things stood out to me with my experience with Jamie. I am sure many others would appreciate them so I'll try to keep it concise: 1) AFFORDABILITY - Trust me when I say I've done my thorough research. If money is an issue, go to Jamie Kan Tattoo. Honestly, this is the best pricing you can get along with the amazing service which I will talk about later. Some artists take their time to get extra money, but not Jamie. She is very passionate with what she does and is efficient and a perfectionist. She will not prolong your time just to squeeze more money out of you. 2) DESIGN - Jamie's designs are amazing, clean and crisp looking, which is extremely difficult to find with other tattoo artists. Many artists can do very dark hardcore tattoo pieces but when you ask for something simple, it's just not something they are used to doing and may cause more complications with getting the final look that you're satisfied with. For Jamie, she can do either or well. I like my things to be perfect and I was worried in the beginning that I will not get the perfect design to my liking, but Jamie proved me wrong! She is very accommodating and adjusted even the most minuscule things for me until I was satisfied. SHE DOES NOT EVEN CHARGE FOR THE TIME SPENT ON DESIGNING YOUR PIECE!! 3) GETTING INKED - The entire process of getting inked was so chill and smooth.. I was surprised and still am. The hip area is usually a painful spot but whatever Jamie did to me was not painful whatsoever. For those who are hesitant on getting a tattoo because they have a low pain tolerance, GOOD NEWS! Jamie can use numbing spray so you won't feel a thing while you're getting inked. I rarely ever hear of this extra service anywhere else, but now you know where to get a painless tattoo, at no extra cost! 4) VEGAN INK - A cherry on top! Jamie uses plant-based ink which does not contain bone char nor glycerin from animal fats. The results are less allergic reactions and smoother healing process - great for those who have sensitive skin! (Now that I think about it.. this might actually be the reason why I am barely scabbing and am healing incredibly quick.. Damn) The affordability, quality of work and smooth process are what won me over. I already have another tattoo planned for her to do! Can't wait :)

I first found out about Jamie by passing through her studio in the same hallway as my office. I inquired her about a tattoo idea that I had which was in a foreign language, and she was so helpful and lovely throughout the process. I found Jamie through Instagram and fell in love with her work. She booked me in on my preferred date and time, and after sending her all of my reference pictures designed me a sunflower arm piece. She even sent a photo of whereabouts it would be on the body so I could get an idea of how it would look. The day of when I got to her studio it was clean and stylish, with lots of chairs to sit and music playing. She talked with me through my tattoo and made me feel 100% comfortable the entire time. Love Jamie and her work! An amazing artist and individual. I’d been wanting to do a tattoo for a very long time but never felt I liked anyone's work enough to dare to actually go through with it...but when i saw the tattoo she did on my sister I knew she was .. the one for me:)) I’m also a very, very picky person.. changed my design over and over .. but Jamie was always so amazing, supportive and not once lost her patience with me. Oh and she is ACTUALLY capable of going into your head and doing a design(and later the tattoo) EXACTLY how you envision it! :D When she sent me the final design I was blown away! As for the actual session she is so fun and makes such a relaxing and easy going atmosphere. I got my tattoo on the ribs and even though this is one of the most painful places to get it Jamie was so gentle, and knew exactly when to ease up, when to stop..when to give me a “hold on you’re doing amazing..almost there” pep talk ..so in tune with me at all times during the session .. I honestly can’t give her enough praise! I promise you you will not go wrong with Jamie!
