This is something I look forward to EVERY YEAR. It's a great way to not only meet local artists but artist from all around. It's not only fun for the 18+ crowd but lots of fun for the younger kids as well.

The artists themselves were great, however the event planners thought it was ok to let children play here. They even had a bouncy castle. Very confusing decision, especially considering the nature of this job, the health and safety aspects of getting tattoos, and also the kids being exposed to partially naked people getting tattoos. Also, the house music was excessively loud and all over the place. You could barely hear anyone without having to raise their voice. I had a good time for the most part, but was concerned for the kids

I've gone to the expo twice now, and I've always really enjoyed it. It seems very small, however, and the artists are always booked, so it's impossible to ask questions or get information. Isn't that the point of an expo? Getting your name out there? I understand that they have competitions during the event, and there are certain etiquette rules to follow, but the secrets of the mysterious tattoo world shouldn't be so out of reach for people genuinely interested and wanting to learn. I did meet one artist based in buffalo and I absolutely fell in love with his work, and now follow him on Facebook. He will definitely do my next tattoo.
