Scotty is the best! He did two of mine: one of them being a message my little grandma always wrote in my birthday cards, and it looks as if she wrote it right on my arm herself! His line work is incredible and he is super steady handed. He was very fair and reasonable with pricing, and was able to get me in day of. I was in and out within 45 minutes! I can't wait to go back and get my next one :)

This ink shop has some of the best artists in metro Detroit that I've met. Very Skilled + all have unique styles. I love coming here, esp for Nathan G /moresoultattoo who did these two amazing pieces. These are healed up, he does amazing linework and fine details. this shading is gonna last a long time crispy because of his technique.

By appointment only, but they will give you an estimate, and a consultation before you set up an appointment on any work you want to get done. My artist was Scott, and I highly recommend him. Both skilled and fun to talk with as you get your work done.

I have gotten a nose piercing here before in February, which was alright and I appreciated the service. Yesterday, I got my septum pierced here, the service was fine until after. I was told to wait at the desk to pay and I had to wait 15 minutes (the receptionist was drawing something) until someone had to come in and speak for me. Then I payed my $35 with a tip and was glad to leave. I had a retainer put in instead of a hoop, which is supposed to be able to flip up into your nose so it is hidden. The retainer was way too big and does not fit in my nose, so today, we had a call made asking about my retainer. We asked if there was a smaller retainer possible or if the ring would be better and they HUNG UP on us. I don't know who the receptionist was today, or why they even hung up, but it was very immature and I will be telling everyone to go someone else like Pandora's Box. Terrible staff.

My daughter and I went in on a whim for a tat... She had one previous tattoo at another studio and had a horrible experience. I can not say enough about the staff here at Independent. We both got GREAT tattoos and a great experience. The shop was clean, the young lady that greeted us was super friendly, and the owner who gave us our matching tattoos did super work... Nathan Wilson and his assistant Becky set up a consultation with me over the phone just to cancel it the day before because he was focusing on "larger projects" and would not do my tattoo. I find that to be incredibly unprofessional and rude. I don't believe that was the real reason I was turned away because I was asking for a fairly large thigh tattoo. They do beautiful work but it's not worth it if the artist and business are unprofessional with handling their clients. I'm disappointed to say the least but I'm glad I didn't waste any more of my time.

They are very clean, well organized, sanitized, and tidy for all of the Covid rules and regulations. Everything about the office, lobby, and the whole building is very well kept.
