I purchased a pair of Black Traditional Muklucks for my wife, Christmas present, and sadly she admitted she probably would not wear them as much as she would like vs. her current favorite pair of boots. Husband Christmas Present Fail! I won't go into details, but the boots looked and felt fantastic, and it pained me to return them; the reason why I'm writing this review is to bring to note how fantastic and simple the return policy is. Angie, whom I spoke too was pleasant and courteous. If my wife changes her mind on her footwear, Steger is the first place I'll go; and when my current boots need replacing; I plan on getting a pair of these for myself; primarily because of how quality they felt/looked in hand. Thank you.

Suggest that the bottoms be designed to have more traction (at least be given as an option). Very slippery (for old buggers) when trying to walk on hard or rigid surfaces, especially when transitioning from loose snow to such surfaces.

Very patient and helpful staff at a great local company. I had been waiting to get my mukluks for over a year, and they helped me find a pair that fit me perfectly, despite having a prosthetic right foot that makes sizing difficult. I bought my first pair of Steger Mukluks in 1996. I finally replaced them with my second pair last year. I cannot say enough about these boots. Walking across frozen lakes at -20 temps with warm feet is actually possible.

Today I drove three hours from Thunder Bay, Ontario to get my first pair of mukluks. As soon as i arrived i was greeted by the two girls working today who were phenomenal. These young girls knew everything inside and out about their boots and got me my moneys worth. I was shown how to take care of them and look after them, something i would've not been able to if ordered online and shown how to tie them correctly. I really appreciate the high quality and knowledge that was given to me today as it was a great investment. i will definitely recommend this place hands down for a great quality winter boot which is proudly made in the usa. ps: to owner/manager give these girls a raise! best customer service I've ever had when shoe shopping

I have had 4 or 5 pair over 3 decades. I like them so much it played into my decision to enter the Boundary Waters via Ely this year instead of Sawbill or Gunflint.

I was so excited to purchase my very first pair of mukluks. I come to untie them from around the heel to spray my boots, and it looks like the laces were sliced in multiple places with a knife. I called to explain my issue and the customer service was handled very poorly. Fortunately, I spoke to someone else after the fact and it had improved. But I am very disappointed with this and their customer service.

I ordered online, they didn’t mention they didn’t have boots in stock. I waited 2 months for them to have them, and then they called and told me the just had them in another model with no ribbon. I said I’d wait of the correct ones. The boots that arrived are the wrong ones. Terrible customer service too.

I ordered a pair of slippers from this website and paid top dollar for them, as it said at the top of the website AND the top of my order: “Proudly made in Ely Minnesota”. I wanted slippers made in America, not China. So, as it perceptively stated, these were made in America. HOWEVER, when I received these slippers I turned over the sole and it said “made in China”. I felt the advertising was incredibly deceitful and checked on the website. Well, in small print I was able to realize these were made in China, but how was I supposed to know this when the company name RIGHT ON MY ORDER says “proudly made in Minnesota”!? I called the company, and explained that I thought their advertising was deceitful but the lady was entirely unhelpful and REFUSED to give a discount or even pay for shipping to return them. And they were 100$! If I wanted slippers made in China with real sheepskin I could get them for $60-70 on DSW. Stay clear of this company. Their customer service was absolutely awful! And, if you do decide to order form them, just be aware that not ALL products are made in USA, as they deceptively advertise on the top of their website. Very disappointed in this company and in the customer service.

Bought my first pair last Fall. They were helpful and knowledgeable in setting me up. I do forestry work with them along with, hunting, ice fishing, and hiking. They have been challenged. They have handled well. I like that they are comfy and warm. I usually get cold feet in other boots.

I just ordered my 4th pair of mukluks!! I work outside year round in Northern Wisconsin and these boots are so lightweight and warm. My feet never get cold or wet and sometimes I do not wear socks on -25 to-30 below zero days and my feet are nice and warm! Thank you for making such a wonderful warm and comfortable boot!!

I haven’t been in the store itself, but I did order a pair of the Arctic (with ribbon) mukluks online after wanting them for ages. Shipping was amazingly fast. They arrived only three days after I placed the order! I’m always worried about buying shoes I haven’t been able to try on, but I’m very pleased with my purchase. The fit is good. I typically wear 8.5, and the size 9 works well. Time to save for another pair!

Great boot, terrible quality. I got a pair of Camuks Extreme for Christmas 5 years ago and at first, I thought they were the best boots ever. Until the following hunting season when both seams, where the buckles attach, ripped. I got them fixed but then the next couple years I started noticing small holes in the outside of the camo upper. I dealt with it until finally one of the straps wore completely through. Then last year I was walking my dog and a stick (I think) poked through rubberized moose hide. This year I asked for a patch for the moose hide so at least my feet would stay dry. They sold me a patch for ten dollars, except it wasn’t for the moose hide, it was for the cloth upper. Then they informed me that they do not sell moose hide patches. I wish these boots would hold up but they simply aren’t worth the $260 that they are charging. They are literally coming apart at the seams. Update - After posting the original message above Steger sent me a new pair of boots. It is worth noting that once my issue was escalated high enough, I received great customer service.

I bought my first pair of Steger’s 13 years ago and they have been wonderful for the extremely cold climate I live in, but sadly the soles wore clean through to the liners. I decided it was time to order a new pair. Since it had been so long I had no clue what size I had ordered the first time so I traced my foot on paper, measured my length and width and checked the sizing chart provided by Steger’s. Where I live there is no local store so buying online is my only option. According to their chart the recommended size seemed a little small so I emailed the company with my measurements to double check. They emailed back advising I get the size that matched their sizing chart. I was skeptical so I ordered a size bigger and wider. Once I received the boots they were so small I couldn’t even get my foot into the boot!!! Upon conversing with customer service I was informed my only option was to pay the shipping to return them ($30) and pay to receive a new pair ($30)! At this point I had already paid for the boots ($200) plus $30 in shipping. By the end I will have to pay $90 in shipping costs. They would Absolutely not budge or work with me at all on the shipping costs. Great product..... Horrible Customer Service!!!!!

I would like a call back immediately...I just placed an order, so your system will have my information. I called over 5 times one afternoon and no answer. I am disappointed because at the time the mukluks I wanted online were not available, so I chose another style. Then 3 days later I went on and they were available. I already paid for the more expensive shipping...with my second choice. Also while calling I wanted to know what kind of spray to protect my boots and again no answer. So besides an additional lost revenue for you, which now I will have to drive 40 min out of the way to buy in Duluth. You officially have a displeased customer that has never done a Google review this low besides Burger King, because your website doesn't have an email or FB messaging for a more discrete way of handling this...you made my Christmas present just substandard. I hope we can resolve this, so I can delete this review. I also know your stock is low, so I dont want to hear that response because this all could have been avoided with any customer service relevant or substandard. *Edit- Thank you for the call back, yet after a lot of thought and consideration this review will stay up. It was apparent in your tone and customer service today that I was an inconvenience to you while we spoke. I suggest customer service and conflict resolution training for dealing with customers on your behalf.

Boots are decent, not as good as they once were. Customer service has taken a HUGE noise dive in recent years. The worst thing is there waterproof spray. Absolutely garbage. Did a real world test on my Ski Nautique cover, cockpit area was treated with a cheap Walmart waterproofing that worked surprisingly well. The Mukluk waterproofing did NOTHING!! Bow area completely soaked. Don’t be conned into buying there boot waterproofing as it doesn’t work at all!!!!

I ordered my boots on January 2nd 2021 and still have not received my boots. Called steger mukluks and they could not give me a reason or a timeline of when they would arrive. Finally received my cam muk boots 4/8/21. Wish they had a better system for letting you know when your order will be done.

Gave my wife a pair of her choice mukluks for Christmas. We finally got to go today for her to pick them out. The clerk was so helpful and patient. She listened and made suggestions. My wife had a previous pair for around thirty years that she lived in during the winter. They eventually fell apart, she had to come to grips that her beloved mukluks were dead. Finding a new pair was a tough decision for her as she knew she’ll be wearing these a long time too.
