They use false advertising tactics to get people in and then sell them more expensive stuff. We saw some 6 piece bedroom sets being advertised on their website for $1000, when we called to inquire about delivery they wouldn't give us a price until we showed up to the store. When we showed up, they said they can't get the set anymore and instead tried to sell us a set for $1750... They still have the $1000 set on the website. Not sure I want to be buying from a company that does that sort of false advertising bait and switch.

Very informative and helpful staff. Was helped by two lovely ladies (I believe their names were Ashley and Jess). Answered every question I had and kept things casual. I haven't bought much furniture and they made it as easy as possible for me.

PLEASE!! Spend a few extra dollars and buy from a Real furnature store. You are throwing your money away buying here. We bought a sofa set here and after a year of lite use, the cusions were flat as pancakes and the material under the cusions was all worn and torn to shreds. Feels like sitting on a rock now. I mean I get it.... People dont have alot of money these days especially starting out.... But the furnature here is absolute junk! My dad had the same experience...threw it to the landfill after 16 months of use!

Looking at the reviews the issues I had were similar to others. Stock wasn't available after being paid for a month in advance, tried to double charge me for delivery because some stock was unavailable at time it was supposed to be. The dresser we ordered was also the floor model which had the price sign in the drawer and had visible scratches on it. Overall I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling, felt like I was putting them out by buying $3000+ in furniture. I'm hesitant to buy anything else there even though I do need more furniture. Buying furniture shouldn't make you feel like you're a burden...

Would definitely not deal with them again. I was shown a mattress that was soft in store, got it home and it was rock solid and would not accept it back. Spend the extra money and buy from a reputable store.

They are Cheater. When you give them a call about the the product, they will say: yes we do have in stock and come ASAP. When you go to the store , the answer would be : "we are out of stock". It happened with me a couple of times that I gave a call from Nofrills (2 min drive from the store) and they said Yes we do have but with in 2 min. the product has gone. In fact, I realize they want to sell what they think they should rather than what the customer wants. AVOID THEM AT ALL.

From my own personal experience with this store I would recommend to anybody looking to buy new furniture, to STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!! The staff are pushy and continuously try to up sell you. The products they sold me were of the worst quality I have ever seen. I bought a sofa and recliner and was told it was leather. Well it turned out that it was some kind of imitation leather that peels off! After only six months the frame broke and that was when I learned that service after the sale was “NIL”! Even though we purchased the extra warranty, we couldn’t get any help or service from them. Next thing was the springs breaking and still no service from them. They would NEVER return calls or messages. After less than 4 years, the sofa and recliner had both peeled to the point that they were good for nothing and were landfill bound! To the owner....In your response to my review you stated... "The review is quite surprising though since the store has no record of your concerns or warranty claim." I guess the quality of the store's record keeping is just as bad as the quality of the furniture I purchased there!

The staff at Surplus are amazing! Efficient, thorough, knowledgeable and fun. I went to purchase a new bed and was in awe of all the options. The salesperson patiently explained each options and encouraged us to try them all until we found one that was just right for us. They even threw in a new sheet set!

I bought furniture in August, got the kitchen table and it was damaged. Manager was rude and tried to blame me saying it didn't go out the door that way. Than said she would order a new one and it would be here within a couple weeks. Never got a call, emailed costumer service and it magically showed up 2 days later. When a employee called me she was didn't even offer an apology after waiting 6 months. I will never be returning again and will be sure to let my friends and family know to stay clear of such a poorly ran business

Awfull!!yesturday my husband bought a matress but he bought the wrong kind when he took it home he took out of plastic before i got there....i didnt want it so i called to exchange for a better matress but they would not help me! Keep in mind i was going to buy a much more expensive one and it was only hours after it was purchased..had worse sleep ever last night went out today for a memory foam paid $230 for it for a matress that was less then 24 hours bought....not fair!

Never again...great guy we delt with then other people were just nasty...going to get our deposit back...NEVER AGAIN will i buy a tooth pick there nor enter the door...ended up getting in touch with their head office and they couldnt apologize enough...lesson learned. Lots of furniture around here to be as rude as they are! Must be great to be so independent when we were furnishing an entire home top to bottom! Their loss!

No more junk from these crooks , bought a new bedroom set just over a year ago the dresser drawers kept popping out. I take a drawer out and couldn't believe my eyes, the god damn drawer glides were stapled on , literally stapled unfit!!!!!

This is the most disappointing and disgusting company I've ever bought from. I was searching for a couch with a good warranty and was offered a Pet Damage Warraty with Full Replacement within 5 years. The only reason I got this couch was because of the warranty, but today when I went in for a replacement they told me I never paid for it. You really know how to ruin things for people with little money. Shame on you.

my experience was misleading they truly do not mean same day delivery which is something they highly advertise which is to my knowledge against some law not criminal but when it comes to advertising it does break laws. Further their website clearly states they take all forms of payment. as well they clearly mention if you ask them you are unable to pay for your items or make any payments at the door. but you can only pay cash only to the delivery with no other payment options with is clearly misleading and against advertising practices in Canada.

its a lot cheaper from other stores but very disappointed on how things are done....we had put a bedroom set on layaway last fall was paying on it all along and when we called to schedule a pick up....we were told that 4 months prior to this our set was discontinued and we were not informed....had to go in at the warehouse to choose another set and would not give us a discount on new set
