Have been a patron for a few years of Helena Darlings', and she's has been able to wrangle my whackadoo ideas into stunning pieces. Their combined line, color and gray work can't be beat in my books. A visit is well worth your time and money.

I've gotten two tattoos from Helena so far and I love them. The shop is absolutely amazing, Helena herself is super nice and always offers me some sort of snack or drink while I'm there. I recieved one tattoo from Lacey and had planned to have many more. This was my experience with my first and last encounters with her. I got a throat tattoo with Lacey and she did a great job on it. Great lines and shading. The only problem was when she finalized the drawing it was the night before at 7pm and it wasn't what I wanted. After many emails back and forth, we came closer to what I had asked for. Lacey said we'll finish it up tomorrow and if there is enough time I will be tattooed. At this point I wasn't entirely sure as to whether or not I would be tattooed during the appointment I had booked for the next day. I did end up recieving my tattoo and it turned out great. I waited about a month or so and asked Lacey to tattoo the rest of my neck all the way around in the same style. I booked an appointment three weeks ahead of time so that way she would have ample time to draw and revise as needed. I provided her with many pictures and a detailed description of what I was looking for. Lacey drew up two drawings that I was not happy with and therefore I provided her with more pictures and descriptions to make my vision more clear. She then responded by email that she would not be able to tattoo me the next day and that she believed it would be best to cancel the appointment. The most concerning thing about this email was that she did not feel comfortable tattooing me as she was not familiar with the style I wanted. She then responded at 9:30pm with a new drawing. At that point I had already been told my appointment was cancelled and was under the impression that I would not be tattooed the next day. The issues that affected me negatively are as follows: 1. Lacey failed to provide me with a drawing up until the night before my appointment. I therefore did not have adequate time to request revisions. 2. Lacey was unfamilar with the style I had asked for in my tattoo however, she agreed to take me on as a client anyways. 3. Lacey cancelled my appointment the night before and did not make other staff aware of her decision to cancel my appointment. I know this as I was informed at a later date that I failed to appear for my appointment by the shop owner.

Love this place! I've gone back several times for Lacey's work. She's truly amazing at what she does. Cute shop and awesome people. I'd definitely recommend Lacey or really any artists at Darling. They're a talented bunch of ladies!

I got a tattoo from Helena! I had wanted to get a tattoo from her since I moved to Nova Scotia and I was not disappointed! She was really really awesome, she made me feel really comfortable, played fantastic music, and she bought me a snack!!!! She is rated well for a reason. She really really knows what she is doing and if there is someone you want to trust to give you a tattoo, then she's your gal. She was extremely clean/meticulous & my tattoo exceeded my expectations. I also really love the shop, it's decorations are adorable & the whole space is very clean. Will definitely be back some day.

I have been almost exclusively getting all of my tattoo work from Helena over the last four years. Every expience i’ve had is professional, she upholds the highest standards for hygiene safety and only producing high quality work makes this shop a must if you’re looking for great tattoo art in Halifax. Tasha Terror is a phenomenal old school traditional artist and her work speaks for itself. Lacey as well though I haven’t had any work done comes as a highly respected artist in the local community and to find all of these powerhouse female artists together in one place is rare. I would absolutely recommend this shop from the verity of tattoo aesthetic styles, the beautiful shop which is a direct reflection of the personalities it houses or personable tattoo artists who create high quality work.

Today I drove 3.5 hours to go to Darling Tattoos, and I can say I wasn't disappointed. First off, the shop is immaculate. So much thought and work went into this place. It was noticeably clean upon entering. I was greeted immediately with a warm and friendly hello and made to feel very welcome and at home. The two owners/artists and talented third artist were LOVELY! And not that you should ever expect a tattoo shop to do so, but they offered beverages and were making all the clients feel very welcome. I am a pretty shy person and everyone made me feel super comfortable, again, not something that a tattoo shop needs to do, but they go above and beyond to be great people. As for my tattoo, Helena was amazing and designed more than I could have asked for and the finished tattoo is friggin beautiful! The time flew by with great laughs and conversation. I would reccomend a million times over.

First and foremost the art is amazing, the studio is clean and inviting, and a neat place to have a tattoo in. It was also the most entertaining tattoo experience I have ever had, with fun artists in a jovial atmosphere I was laughing the whole time, and the time flew by.

Helena is an amazing tattoo artist. Her work is beautiful and always original. Unfortunatley the atmopshere lacked professionalism and customer service. When I went in on the day of my tattoo I was not greeted at the door. I noticed that one of the other tattooists was speaking with someone so I patiently waited. I waited for about five to ten minutes and continued to be ignored. Helena then came out of the backroom and asked the tattooist if she greeted us at the door. The tattooist then proceeded to explain that she was busy in a consultation and that we could wait. Helena then proceeded to instruct the tattooist that she should have greeted us and that the tattooist should have informed her that we arrived. The tattooist then proceeded to become very agitated and began an argument with Helena in front of me. Helena maintained her composure and requested that the tattooist come to the back room to speak. The tattooist however contiued to lash out and stormed out of the shop. Helena then apologized profusely for the tattooists' unprofessionalism and informed me that she will be ready to start when the tattooist returned. I ended up waiting for about 25 to 30 minutes without beginning my tattoo. The tattooist returned to the shop and Helena requested again that they have a conversation in the back. As I was laying on the table ready to be tattooed for 30 minutes I was growing impatient. All of sudden Helena and the tatooist proceeded to shout at each other and have a very loud arguement of which I could all hear. The disagreement arose from the way I was treated as a customer and that Helena expects a higher standard of customer service from other tattooists in the shop. Although her intentions were good, this made me feel very uncomfortable and uneasy about how the shop was being run. After about 20 minutes the argument concluded and Helena rejoined me to begin my tattoo. This entire time I was waiting to be tattooed by Helena and did not recieve any services up until this point. I beleive that it was highly unprofessional and that as a customer who is paying by the hour I wasted a good chunk of my money (and time) listening to them argue. To summarize: the underlying issues at the shop were apparent and created a very volitaile environment. As a customer who has recieved multiple tattoos from Helena I am not confident that this shop has any standard of customer service or professionalism. I feel that my tattoos in general did not seem to be priorities in the shop as many other issues too precedence.
