I have been getting tattooed by Taylor since the beginning of 2016 and could not be happier. I first sought out Taylor for a photorealistic Tiger which he knocked out of the park. Since then, I have gotten two larger pieces from his sketchbook, and just recently had him freehand another gorgeous tattoo around the tiger. Taylor has been the most professional, clean, artistic and gentle artist I know. You can tell he takes his time and puts 100% into everything he does. I always feel comfortable and I swear he makes it hurt less than other artists haha. Although I have only been tattooed by Taylor, the other artists in the shop are also extremely talented and professional. Had an amazing experience at the shop, Taylor is an extremely talented artist very dedicated to his craft. The parlor itself is SPOTLESS and I felt very comfortable the moment I stepped in the door. When I showed up I had a pretty mediocre tattoo (the crown) on my arm and the artist took it upon himself to jazz it up and incorporate it into the new piece, and it came together wonderfully. Great conversation, amazing work and a great energy from this spot. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Very pleased with the turnout of my tattoo by Christopher. He was in for a few days here as a guest. Very talented artist and highly recommend. He is from Cortland, NY. As for the place itself and the artists who are there full time, I felt very welcomed, as I went in a little nervous, but as soon as I walked in it was very clean and everyone there was so fun to be around. He made sure everything was the way I wanted it and showed me the packaging to the new needle which definitely made me feel better about it. Definitely will go back whenever I want a new piece:)

The space is just beautiful and the talent is amazing. I spent over seven hours here getting tattooed on a Friday and it was a really lovely experience. The space was open and very clean with warm indoor lighting and lots of natural light. This is an art gallery too and there is a ton of beautiful, well rendered art on the walls. The folks that run this place are so kind and personable and very talented. Im new to Buffalo and spent some time searching for a Buffalo tattoo home base. So glad I found Crucible. While drawing, he regularly asked me to give feedback on how I wanted the tattoo to look. Adjacent to the tattoo pallor it makes the perfect background as you sit for a session. The Crucible Art Collective is a step beyond the industry, interested in showcasing the practice of making art and presenting it. Elevating both establishments’ ingenuities of fine arts and the hand made object, be it on skin or in a frame. The open layout allows a look on the show as a 'collective'-- as a continuous stream of art, while having enough room, high ceilings and air space to view each piece individually. The space has great natural lighting and traditional track lights. Peppered with just the right amount of outlets on the walls for when it’s needed. The staff was friendly, courteous and fully enthused about sharing art and how it is these types of moments that solidify connections within the community. I am looking forward to many more exhibitions and happenings at this top-notch establishment nestled in the west side of Buffalo, NY.

So I live in Rochester. Tattoo shops aplenty between Rochester and Buffalo. And I trek the hour and a half for Taylor (owner) because he's the most professional and talented tattoo artist I've ever sat down with. I waited for Taylor to come back to the states after his time living in Hong Kong because he is WORTH. THE. WAIT. His new shop is so beautiful and open and airy and extremely peaceful and calming. Not to mention he gives other local artists a place to display their work for art shows!! Super cool. He's very easy to work with and takes your ideas and just transforms them and it's insane. I literally can not recommend him enough!!

I recently went & had some small work done w/ Nicole Suwalski, script names, new & a 10 year refresh.. Nicole was amazing! She did exactly what I wanted! She is so professional, laid back and friendly, an overall sweetheart! We’re going to fix/add and finish up some older work I had done creating a full leg piece, I was unsure exactly what I wanted..herself and another artist took the time to look at my previous work & talk about it, you can tell they are actually understanding and experts, creating art, not just rushing the process. Also, the crucible is a super clean/ sterile shop environment, working in health care for 12+ years I can tell you it was on a different level. Nicole is definitely my new artist & I’m sooo happy I found her!!

I participated in and was the point person for a group art exhibit at The Crucible Art Collective and had a wonderful experience. Alicia Malik (gallery curator and manager) was communicative, supportive and warm. She made sure we felt taken care of, provided any help and input that was needed, while also prioritizing our vision for the show. She was hands on for installation, which was appreciated. Taylor Heald (owner and tattoo artist) was also really inviting, made us feel welcome, and kept a cool and attentive presence throughout our work's stay in the space. The space itself was one of our favorites and gallery goers commented on how much they enjoyed being there and seeing the work in this visually appealing, professional and relaxed environment. Highly recommend to any artists who are interested in a solo or group exhibition experience. Many thanks to Taylor, Alicia and all those that participated and viewed the exhibit!

Josh is a great artist with a good eye and a unique style. I recently got a gap filler for my inner elbow and he was nothing but professional and willing to work with me to come up with a design I liked. You could tell he was attacking a new style he was not used to, but Josh still gave me an awesome tattoo that i am very pleased with which only speaks to his skill. She does amazing work as well as the shop owner Taylor they both have done work on me and couldn’t be happier. They are both part of my “go to” artists if I need or want something.
