*Very Thorough Review* My friends came here from Montreal just to get their tattoos done here! I’ve always wanted a tattoo for many years, but never found the right artist until I saw Ice Liao’s work! She is extremely talented and her work is top notch for somebody who is a perfectionist like myself. Knowing how popular they are, we messaged them through Instagram a month and a half ahead of time. They responded less than an hour! (super fast reply) compared to Chronic Ink who left us hanging for days.. horrible customer service on their part. We booked our appointments in and they are great with email reminders! When I got there, I showed Ice my design, she was very patient with me about the details and placement (never felt rushed) since this was my first tattoo, I didn’t know what to expect when it came to pain. However, Ice was so calm and collected it shoved my nervousness aside and I fully trusted her. Needless to say, my tattoo came out amazing! My friend who has her body covered with tattoos has said “Ice is the most gentle artist she has ever had.” which is probably why I didn’t feel any pain, just an annoying scratch repetitively. Stan was the one I was talking to through Instagram and he is even more friendly in person! He hooked us up to some old school Mario Kart and drinks to keep us entertained. He also took the time to explain the after care and showed me the amount I should put on my tattoo which was really helpful! I had a really great experience here and would come back again and recommend to all my friends who wants amazing work done! PS: The store is super clean! I know where to look for cleanliness and let me tell you, I am very satisfied by how spotless and neat everything is kept. Thank you again Stan and Ice!!!

We lost our Sunday because of a poor costumer service. They call my husband on Saturday to book his appointment to yestarday (July 4th) at 2pm. His tatoo was a small and simple tatoo so they said that they would slot him in. On Sunday morning he received a call to move to 2:30. So we went there and they told him that need a little bit more time to finish another tatoo. They said that would call him to come back (around 3 - 3:30). Nobody called so we decided come back there. They gave him all the papers to fill and sign and asked him to wait a little bit more because they were still finishing. We stayed at the parkin (me, my husband and my 2 young kids) until 5:05 pm waiting for a call that didn't happen. So we left. We were really frustrated to be treated like that for something that we would be paying for. I made my tattoo there previously and I liked - reson why I recomend this place to my husband. But after this, we are not coming back and I am not recommending to any friend.

Had an amazing experience at this shop and with the great artists that work there. My artist was collaborative, patient, understanding and was extremely helpful in providing a variety of options while creating my final design. My experience at the shop was great, everyone there was super engaging and made an effort to speak to you. Modern. Serene. Professional. Immaculate experience at this establishment, from the moment I walked in I had my temperature checked, was offered hand sanitizer and a bottle of cold water, this alone to me puts them ahead of any tattoo shop in the country. I was very happy with how I was being taken care of as a customer and my tattoo artist, Ice, was very thorough with the size, font and placement of my tattoo and was happy to re-stencil my design to fit a place on my body that I was happy with. No loud buzzing from the machines that you hear at every other tattoo shop and the staff did a superb job making sure I was relaxed and comfortable throughout getting my tattoo. And the best part? They send you home with a gift bag that has ointments and detailed instructions on how to treat your tattoo and what to expect with the healing process. Couldn’t ask for a better owner, couldn’t ask for a better talented staff, couldn’t ask for a better shop, couldn’t ask for a better experience and definitely couldn’t ask for a better tattoo! I rate Modern Ink 5 stars because they really earned every single star.

I was super nervous for my first tattoo and wasn't really sure who to go with, so I was super relieved when I came to modern ink. Stan is honestly the nicest most accommodating person and he hooked me up w the perfect artist. Tania was super nice, insanely talented and absolutely bodied my first tattoo which was super meaningful to me and the piece turned out perfect beyond my expectations. I went to Modern Ink through recommendations of my fiancée and a few of our friends. It was my first tattoo and I was really excited for it. Mia was the artist and she was really quick to respond and send me a few designs till I found one I liked. Stan, the owner, was really helpful too. When you first walk in, you really get a great sense of closeness in the shop and it’s very relaxed. It’s like you’re walking into a friend’s house. You can join in on a conversation and you feel welcomed. Throughout the entire experience, Mia was great. She was patient and walked me through the entire process. I love this tattoo and I am working on getting a few more. Modern Ink will be the only shop I will trust with my tattoos and I will recommend them to anyone.

Been here 5 times now, I've been to dozens of shops over the years but this has become my go to shop. Three different artists from Modern Ink have tattooed me, all three have been kind, and meticulous. Very happy with the work they've done. Staff are friendly and helpful, even offering drinks. They always give you a complementary packet of after care lotion. I will definitely continue to come back.

I went in today to get a couple quotes on a few tattoos and they were rude, snooty, and dismissive. They would not serve me what I wanted for a tattoo , I wanted to get my significant other’s name for letter word tattooed on me and they all refused to do it. They are there to serve the public it’s what The customer wants and sadly they could not provide that I would not suggest going here if you want to get a significant other’s name tattooed on you . Modern Ink Tattoos is a great choice for getting a tattoo in Toronto and all of the GTA. My experience with Stan and the staff was amazing. They were all very patient and answered all of my questions. I wasn’t sure about placement but they had no issues doing the stencil for me multiple times and offered suggestions based on my tattoo design and lifestyle. Love this place! Walking in your immediate feeling is that this is not your typical tattoo studio. Vibes are different, lines are different and people are different. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The tattoo artist was amazingly patient and professional with his work delivering exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend!

Found this gem during our visit to Sherway Mall yesterday with the family! Digging the new concept and how modern it really is inside! Didnt think they would have time for the girlfriend and I as they seemed pretty busy at the time and no appointment booked ahead of time. From booking the appointment to the actual experience, I was so impressed by how professional and friendly each one of the people there were. Modern Ink shop itself is beautiful; so incredibly bright, inviting and clean! I would (and will) go back again... and again. The entire space is so welcoming it almost makes me want to get a tattoo just so I can hang out here for hours. Mia does great work. Prices are great and the other artists are a blast . I got my first big tattoo yesterday and it was such a wonderful experience. Everyone is so nice and my tattoo artist was Ice, her work is absolutely amazing! She did a really good job and I couldn’t be more happy with my tattoo. Since it was a two and a half hour session I was pretty nervous because I have a very low pain tolerance but Ice was so understanding and made sure I was okay throughout the process, and to be honest it doesn’t hurt as much as you would think. Overall it was a great experience and I can’t recommend Modern Ink enough!

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about ModernInk, the artists at the shop and the shop owner Stan! Stan was INCREDIBLE. He was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions over Instagram related to design, price and positioning. Given I am an anxious person I made A LOT OF CHANGES to my design and positioning BUT Stan was AMAZING throughout all of my anxieties and mind changes. This was extremely helpful through my tattoo journey. When speaking of the tattoo shop itself, it is modern (haha obviously), super welcoming, and clean which is important! Ice, my tattoo artist was so sweet, gentle and fantastic at converting my design into body art . The shop offers free touchups too which is great especially for me given im a bleeder and tend to have to go back for a second session to tie up loose ends. As a summary, the staff are very welcoming and maintain an extremely clean workspace. They easily accommodated to my needs of the tattoo details and its placement. In detail, even when coming in to the shop to talk to someone, they make you feel at home, and it’s awesome to have a unified team working and talking together rather than seeming separated. They always had a plan for any idea I threw at them and did it with a genuine smile. When I saw the first sketch I couldn’t believe it wasn’t a photo at first, but an actual computer drawing. Even when almost the entire drawing was changed, Ice did an amazing job of getting my idea into a visual, and what you see is what you get with her. Seeing how realistic and true to the picture that my tattoo came out is one of the reasons I’ll be returning. Along with making me feel welcome, and happy to see me, and any other tattoo ideas I have, made this tattoo even more special. As for pricing, it is what it is, I can’t complain about something I will look at everyday for the rest of my life on my body. I could only compare it to when you see an amazing tattoo online, now that I have it, I’m completely satisfied with the process and how it’s just the beginning. I can’t wait to see this business grow and will always drop by to say hello!

I went here to get my tattoo of Nefertiti! I gave my artist the picture of the actual Bust thinking it would just be a guideline for her, I figured asking for it to be exact would be too much to ask. She got every tiny detail of it down , even the small chips , scratches and faded areas. It Totally exceeded my expectations! I still can’t stop staring at this piece of history on my arm that looks like the exact piece of art. Also , the studio was very clean and everyone who works there is extremely friendly. I would recommend coming here especially if it’s your first time getting a tattoo. You will very relaxed and comfortable !!!

I have had experiences with Zamar twice and my husband used Matt. Both are talented artists who clearly understand the art of tattooing. This shop was clean, tidy and followed COVID precautions to the "T". I highly recommend them to first timers and tattoo veterans.

The shop is extremely clean and most importantly they are very patient. I was so nervous about my tattoo and I really did not know where I wanted to place it. I've been here three times so far and each time I had an amazing experience! The first time I came by, I got my first tattoo. I was so nervous but they made sure that I was comfortable. They gave me ample time to decide on my tattoo, not once rushing me. After that first tattoo I was hooked. From my first consultation to the day of my tattoo appointment (during Covid); this place has been nothing, but exceptional. All safety measures were taken prior to my appointment. The staff are all very courteous and professional. The atmosphere is incredibly calm, and welcoming. It's not hectic, like some places. I usually feel intimidated going into tattoo shops, but did not have that feeling here. I got my piece done by Ice. I have a few custom tattoos done from other artists in the past, but honestly, this was the FIRST time, I had a design pretty much drawn up and put together in front of my own eyes. I really appreciated that I was able to put more of my input into the design. Ice is a very talented artist and it shows in her work. Another artist, Matt; then explained the aftercare procedure and answered all my questions respectively. What's nice is that they give a free sample of aftercare ointment. When I got home, I even received a call from Stan; the shop manager to ask if everything went well. I honestly did not expect anyone to do that, but that just put me over the top. You will never get better service than this. They took the anxiety and stress away during the whole process, and made my experience even more enjoyable and memorable. I know I wrote out a whole story here, but I can't thank you all enough, and I will definitely be back for more! For anyone looking for some quality work, outside of the downtown Toronto area, you have to check out Modern Ink. You won't be dissapointed.

If you're interested in getting tattooed but you still have that mental image of a dark, scary tattoo shop surrounded by burly bikers, you're gonna be pleasantly surprised by this place. Bright, clean, comfortable - and Modern Ink blows everywhere else out of the water when it comes to customer service. I was late getting to my appointment because I forgot about Buskerfest (hello, traffic nightmare) but when I called to let them know they were super cool about it. I rolled up and they were barbecuing outside. Where else will you get offered water, snacks, or friggin steak when you're waiting to get tattooed?! The vibe inside the shop is one of a tight knit community, but at the same time they're incredibly welcoming to newbies like me. There's something wonderfully chaotic about having everyone getting their work done in the same room - it feels like you're hanging out in a friend's living room, if that friend had incredibly high standards for cleanliness. Listening to the artists banter with their clients, you can really tell that they truly care about the people who walk through their door. The work I had done was phenomenal. My artist, Ciel, did a chef knife and honing steel for me and the level of detail she got in such a small space blows my mind. It looks like I took a tiny knife out of a drawer and slapped it on my arm, it's that good. And she has such a light hand that I barely felt it. I'm so happy at how it turned out, I'm already thinking of what to get next. If you're getting your first tattoo or your fiftieth, do yourself a favor and go to Modern Ink.

My best friend and I have wanted to get matching tattoos for a long time. She lives close to Mississauga and happened to find this place while searching online for reputable tattoo places online. She made an appointment via instagram direct message. When we arrived for our appointment we were surprised how busy it was, but despite the crowd all the employees made sure all customers were greeted and taken care of. Not only were we welcomed, they offered us free water as well. The facility was extremely clean and has a beautiful open and bright atmosphere. There were many tattoo artists available and we did not wait long. We were shown the stencil of our tattoos and we were asked if we wanted any changes made and they even recommended how they would change it a little just so it was more visually appealing which we appreciated very much. The artists we had were very gentle and made us feel comfortable during the tattoo process. Our tattoos turned out beautiful and exactly the way we envisioned it to be. Overall, this place is amazing and I will definitely be coming back here for more tattoos. If you want quality service, a clean environment, and an amazing tattoo I HIGHLY recommend you visiting Modern Ink Tattoos.

Highly recommended! Got a portrait done of my daughter and it looks identical! Drove all the way down from Niagara Falls to visit Modern Ink! Thank god we did as Niagara Falls tattoo shops are typically really old school, dirty and unappealing. Modern Ink has the most comfortable atmosphere i have ever been in in terms of tattoo shops or even businesses in general. My friend Jamie and I both got matching Floral tattoos on our thighs and we couldnt be any more happier than we are! Highly recommended! If you're getting a tattoo anywhere other than Modern Ink, you're missing out! The space is beautiful, and the energy in the shop is seriously unmatched. Stan, Sabrina and all of the artists are super kind and inviting. My intimidation and fear before my appointment was definitely diminished due to their hospitality! This was my 8th tattoo, and i decided to try somewhere new. Modern Ink is down the street from my house, and I follow them on Instagram. Let me tell you, I am so impressed. I had Mia do my tattoo and I had never had a female tattoo artist. I was nervous going to a new shop but she made me feel so much better. She drew the tattoo in front of me and made sure everything was to my liking. She was so pleasant and even though it was a quick tattoo she still talked to me and made sure I was doing ok! My sister and I had a trip planned to head down to Toronto/Mississauga to visit our parents. Upon arriving, we decided to get a matching tattoo to represent our sisterly bond. After extensive research and back and forth with multiple shops, we decided to go with Modern Ink! Their booking process was smooth and transparent. Honestly we were already quite impressed with the customer service when a member of the team contacted us to follow up with the booking. Upon arriving at Modern Ink on our appointment date, we were greeted by the friendly receptionist. We were then offerred Soft drinks, Water, Coffee and tea. We sadly already had our starbucks so we didnt take up their offer. We were then offered the wifi password as well as the remote for the tv! (Never had this experience before). Tattoo came out better than we envisioned. We couldnt be happier with the overall quality and experience of Modern Ink. Highly recommended. 10/10 Experience

This place is highly recommended. I came to them to get my third tattoo. When I get a tattoo, it has to be of great significance or meaning. I wanted to get a tattoo to show my love for my Boomer. I've been contemplating for a while, on what to get. My husband has suggested to have his portrait incorporated as the tattoo, but I was hesitant and just to get a script BOOMER. My hesitation stems from seeing portrait tattoos that does not capture the image of the subject, or worse a mangled version that is no longer recognizable. I've been following Modern Ink's Instagram page and after seeing their work, specially Ice's work, I was ready to get one. I came in for a consultation. The place was clean, Stan the owner was welcoming, the artists were all chill. It seems like everyone enjoys being there. I watched Stan interact with clients and potential clients and you can tell he is genuine. He wants you to feel like you are just visiting your friend's place but getting a tattoo as well. I told them what I wanted in my new tattoo. Boomer was with me during the consultation, and it was just extra that they love dogs as well, and my dog loved them. Boomer being there, allowed them to see his character, of what kind of dog he is. I gave them a picture that I wanted to use and the idea I wanted and they said they will have something awesome for me in a few days. Stan has always said if there is something you want to change let us know and emphasizes there is no pressure, "You know where we are, we are ready when you are" I came in the day of my sitting and they revealed what they've done. It was perfect, no changes; it was better than what I had in my mind. They actually took an imprint of Boomer's paw during the consultation and used the paw to frame his face. They did not use the picture I gave, but selected the one that embodies Boomer's persona: it captured his goofiness, the intense eyes, his good looks. Ice was my artist. She had a soft touch. I was able to sit there the whole time with no problem. She took her time and made sure that everything was perfect. Every single detail of Boomer's face, every hair strand. I was amazed by the finish product, they captured my Boomer and you can not mistake it for any other dog but Boomer. This is expected from a top notch artist, working in a top tattoo shop. Visit their Instagram page and you can see the amazing Boomer tattoo that I got. One of the biggest issues of getting a tattoo is the pricing. You are quoted by the hour for a piece but most of the time that quote is usually underquoted. You sit there an anxiously looking at the time and calculating in your head how much more are you going to pay compared to the quoted price. Stan gave me a quote in the beginning, I was comfortable with the price and agreed upon it. Once my tattoo was done, that was the price I paid. There is something to be said about no surprises, piece of mind. I have recommended them to families and friends already. I have recommended them to people that have been amazed with Boomer's tattoo. My husband and I are considering our next respective tattoos. Modern Ink has a lifetime client with us.
