My fiancee and I got our engagement piercings done here by Hannah. It was my first piercing and my fiancee's third. We both got upper ear cartilage piercings. Hannah was fantastic and made it a breeze. I've had a spotty history with needles but had no issue here and she was even a good sport about our photographer friend snapping pictures. would recommend to anyone!

Did a lot of research before picking a shop in Victoria. Urge has been voted best in the city 6 years in a row. Everyone at Urge is friendly. They all seem very well trained, very clean, and very helpful. The work i've had done by Sparky, Cory, Lindsay, and Jeff is constantly complimented by strangers... you wont find a more trustworthy place to have your work done on Vancouver Island.

In about two hours, i came across two different people in one. Phill- A great artist (polynesian) and an equally unprofessional and an unethical human who gave me an unforgettable experience experience to my addiction for polynesian tattoos. His name is phill, visited him for the second time for the continuation of polynesian art on the remaining part of my arm. It all started when our first session of approx. 2:10/15 hours was finished and i was asked to pay $400 for the session ($160/hour) and i ended up paying $500 which includes the deposit for my next session. Upon checking, I brought a little miscalculation in price to Phill’s attention and mentioned that i should’ve been billed $360 for the time invested in that session and also politely asked if i could get the discrepancy in price carry over towards my deposit so that i get full value of my hard earned money. I work hard to save money and usually wait for a year to give my tattoo addiction a little satisfaction. To this, phill got really upset that I’ve disrespected by saying what i’ve said, nobody has ever questioned him on this ever and, then canceled my next appointment, returned my deposit, blocked me off instagram (where we usually were communicating) and abandoned the work that he started. It has put me in a very stressful and uncomfortable spot. And this all happened because i disagreed to pay for something I never bought i.e. $40 and to my opinion it wasn’t even a negotiation. To anyone who is reading this, I got a tattoo from phill before he started working at Urge studio so i have nothing against this place and i’m sure everyone who works here is great in what they do and the studio itself is an amazing place with a lovely interior. Please DEFINITELY visit this place. It’s heartbreaking to see someone doing this to you for $40 when you know you’re gonna be spending way more than this. It could be a personal bias or god knows what but one i thing i know for sure that i did not deserve to be left in the middle of my tattoo work like this. VERY DISAPPOINTED ????! I wanted him to work around an existing tattoo and gave him a couple ideas of what I was looking for. He came back with a great design and the finished product looks fantastic! The first time I went to Urge was a very memorable and valuable experience with an artist Emily who tattooed my chest, who is no longer there. Today I returned with a friend aiming for matching tattoo’s and one guy, at the counter although knowledgeable, repeatedly talked condenscendingly to us for a good part of the conversation while the other guy at the counter behaved like a rock star, unfriendly and way too cool for school. Customer service felt incredibly phoney and prentenious so we didn’t bother to return.

Been for 4 pieces so far, getting a fifth one soon. Entire staff is super friendly, willing to answer any and all questions you have. Finished products are all stunning. There's a reason they always get voted best shop in Victoria consistently. Can't recommend them enough.

My partner was tattooed here and was unsatisfied so they left a negative review. The artist's response was to track down their workplace and harass them on multiple occasions. There are plenty of other tattoo shops in town to go to.

Went here over a year ago, and was so upset about it I only thought to wrote a review now. Got an elephant with the phases of the moon. I went with a friend and it wasn't til he was ready to start tattooing me that he shut the door in her face and closed the blinds (I guess you can't have guests). THEN he tattooed the moon phases in the INCORRECT ORDER on me (but it was on my chest so I couldn't see this until i GOT HOME) and started colouring the elephant without conferring with me at all (if I had known I would NOT have wanted it grey), AND, when I went to pay, they kept my deposit, and made me pay the entire amount in full! So they still have my deposit, and i was so intimidated by the gruff artist that I never went back. 0/5 but it won't let me rate lower than a 1. I copied my review onto facebook and it angered him so much he came to my workplace and was aggressive and threatening and my review is no longer on facebook, and i no longer feel safe in the neighborhood.

Go see Hannah for your piercing needs very knowledgeable and professional :) definitely will be coming back! Visited this shop on several occasions a year and a bit ago. Was curtly shunned by each artist until I reached the at the time apprentice who mocked me for my own lack of artistic ability and refused to work with me. Took my business elsewhere and received lovely service from several other shops in town, despite not giving my patronage to a few for stylistic reasons. Given how this studio's employees conduct themselves, I'm expecting to receive some backlash from them for this negative review. Seriously though, far more friendly environments to get better quality work done in Victoria.
