Went in for the promotional free tattoo day and oh my lord it was an amazing experience!! Shan is a wonderful artist who is really friendly and personable. My friend got a beautiful flower done, and he decided to tattoo both myself and my partner as well!! Super clean, fast and friendly staff, who really know the ins and outs of their craft. Absolutely wonderful experience. I'm going to definitely be returning for more of Shans' work, and would/will recommend this shop to everyone I know who wants tattoos.

I went to see Nathan for a tattoo and it was SUCH a wonderful experience. He was super accommodating, did a fantastic job with the design, and was incredibly professional. I felt like my choices were really respected regarding the tattoo and he went out of his way to ensure that I really loved it before getting it on my body. He was easy-going and it was so much fun chatting with him that I forgot that I was getting stabbed by a needle a bunch of times.

If you are going to get a tattoo, get it at the Fountain Head. I got my very first tattoo at the Fountain Head from Andi, and I could not be happier with the piece. I came to the shop with an vague idea, and Andi turned it into something beautiful and very special to me. All the artists do amazing art work, but more importantly, they create a comfortable friendly environment, and work with you to create the tattoo you want. I can't say enough good things about the shop. So get your butt over to there, and get a sweet tatty bro.

The shop environment is laid back and fun, the open concept of the shop just really drives home how much the artists all get along and are more of a family than just coworkers. I was walking down 109th street on Sunday, and the sandwich board sign for the shop was on the street, so I buzzed to get in and chat about a potential walk-in. Person there was super off-putting. Said they weren't even open today and couldn't do walk-ins, even though the sign outside advertised it. They said they just put it out there to give passerbys something to look at. Then, they started asking about what I wanted. I said I was interested in two small pieces on my hand. Person said my requests were "weird" and they wouldn't tattoo my hands unless I had a full sleeve. Seems like a bizarre prerequisite, even though I do have a full sleeve. I was written off the second I got in that shop as not fitting the bill for wanting what I wanted. Very defensive person. Definitely wouldn't go back and support based on that interaction and having one of my designs classified as "weird". Definitely taking my walk-in time elsewhere! Good luck, though folks. #dontbeweirdthough

Earlier this year I got a really really bad Star Wars tattoo from another shop. The concept was cool, but the execution was horrible, and I knew I had to get it covered up and only had 1 shot at it. After doing a lot of research, I knew a lot of people that had tattoos from Fountainhead Tattoo with amazing reviews. In June/July/August I got a Star Wars tattoo cover up from Raphael at Fountainhead tattoo and it looks amazing. I highly recommend Fountainhead tattoo. Staff there are so talented and considerate. 5 stars!

The only reason this is not a 2 is because of Shan...his work is fantastic, would give a 5. The 3 would be based on a tattoo I was looking to get restored, which I made clear, and that I wasn't looking to spend anywhere near the $1300 I spent years ago. Andi took the job, assured me she could do it for way less...called it a cover-up, when I said no, it's restoring it...Oya, sure. First, she applied the heavy outline over my tattoo, as that's all she could do to make it better again...and put it on way off the original lines. Didnt see as it's on my back, until she was done...I wasn't happy, but she assured me once the color went in, you wouldn't see the original lines she just couldn't follow (??). When color was added, suprise! You could still see all the lines! Looked terrible!! After seeing her 3 times to work on it, $930, it wasn't nearly done... So much for not spending as much! I gave up and now am spending more money and pain going through several laser sessions to remove her poor judgment..just another tattoo artist trying to make a tattoo their own and disregarding what the client wanted.

My pieces from here are some of my favourite and I can’t wait to get a billion more tattoos from Nari because she’s f@$#ing fabulous at what she does and it’s cool to be with an artist as they journey through life and their work changes and grows. I'm not happy with the tattoo I got from shan at the tattoo convention. The lines are super sketchyand not straight bars on the bird cage. AS WELL as, the bird cage is suppose to be open, which it is not ...!! It's a closed cage with a open door.....BIZARRE. also I never signed a release form. This review is 3 months overdue and shame on me for not sharing sooner. EVERYONE (and I mean everyone) working at Fountainhead deserves a 5 star rating. I went in for a half sleeve tattoo back in November with guest artist Ralf and had a wonderful experience. First of all, the shop is spotless. Secondly, the Covid protocols put in place make everyone feel very safe and comfortable in the atmosphere. What really made my experience a 5 star is how I was treated in my appointment - let’s start out by saying I am not a fan of needles (but yet thought hey let’s get a half sleeve). When I arrived for my appointment I was slightly nervous but nothing out of the ordinary. Ralf asked me to stand to put the stencil on my arm.. Well let’s just say about 30 seconds into standing up I all of a sudden found myself crumpled on the floor like a piece of paper. Yes, that’s right. Out cold from the stencil. How. Embarrassing (and hilarious let’s be honest). Immediately Ralf and another artist - Nathan, were asking if I was okay, and Nathan god love him grabbed me a box of juice and some candy to get my blood sugar back up. They were so empathetic and made me feel so much better to the horrific episode I had just caused it truly made me feel so much better. The tattoo itself is absolutely stunning, and both Shan and Nathan checked in on me and had a nice chat towards the end of my 6 hour appointment once again letting me know not to worry about anything and stuff like this happens all the time. I could not ask for a better experience. Thank you to EVERYONE at the Fountainhead, I will forever recommend you as the #1 tattoo shop in Edmonton. I promise the next time I come back I won’t be so dramatic. Oh - and if you’re like me and don’t fancy the idea of feeling a needle for 6 hours, get the numbing cream. It’s legit.

Got a tattoo done in August. Drove about 5 hours to get it done and it was worth every KM I drove. Great service, clean shop and most importantly great staff. Shan, Andi and Forest were nothing but kind and helpful. They were also very accommodating due to my schedule. Its no surprise that you have to pre-book your appointment a couple of months in advance because these artists are awesome at what they do and are in high demand. My tattoo healed perfectly and you couldn't even tell it was a cover up job. I will be back in the near future for sure. Thank you again.
