Been a client with Fade away for over a year now and I must say the new changes to Removery are terrible. The ONLY reason why I will continue to go there for the time being is because of their amazing employee Daniela. If they didn't give her a raise during the switch over ( which wouldn't surprise me if they didn't) they need to!! If they did, give her even more!! She is very personable and knowledgeable on the whole process, just a real sweetheart of a person as a whole. (my first 2 sessions she took time to help calm me down because I was VERY nervous about the whole process) Results wise, I must say that my tattoo I have been going for really has been doing a good job of fading. The price increase from $200 to $350 per session, for the same exact treatment is ridiculous. The new layout of the place is VERY clinical and corporate. Not like the very inviting place that Fade away once was. They took down all the beautiful artwork and now everything looks like something straight from a office cubical. If the Kitchener location moves to 15 minute time slots like how I've seen Toronto is, that will for sure be the nail in the coffin.

Updated Dec 3 2021: FadeAway was bought out by Removery. Same location and technicians but when I asked about doing other removals I found out that the prices have more than doubled since the Removery takeover. Same equipment and service but with a 100+% price increase. Original review: Nice clean place. Rob and his staff are very nice and professional. Prices seem fair (about $250 per session or a package price of about $1600). Highly recommended. Will probably take 8 session but I'll be happy to say goodbye to this eyesore. Instructions from staff are accurate and detailed.

After a major accident from a past attendance to continue this beautiful work on my flesh, I began to believe the ink will never vanish for good. This took me dear and severe effort hunting for a company in Ontario (somewhere nearest to my current location). Once my results started to be successful I committed to keep removing the rest of the error and searched another in Hamilton titled “Fade Away Laser”. As Ben described, tattoo removal isn't fun by any means. However, its not end of the world pain. I'm a wimp and apparently did fine. He described the pain as being similar to an elastic band hitting the area. In my opinion, that hurt less then the tattoo! I went in very anxious and having a panic attack. Ben was super awesome about chilling me out and making me feel comfortable. The area that he did was quite warm for the remaining day (as I was warned). It is still somewhat warm to the touch but there is no pain and the redness has almost completely gone. All I have left if a bit of swelling to go down. I can see a huge difference already and it has only been two days! The areas that were light before are completely gone. I greatly appreciated his help & professionalism in laser removal. And the reason I went in for the removal was so that I could have my sleeve look amazing - and now it will! I'm quoting this as inexpensive simply because I had called many areas in America while I was there, and all of their quotes were $1300+. Ben gave me a quote and didn't give me a bunch of hidden charges.

If you want it gone, just call and get it done! My experience was a non-event. I had three small 30 year old tattoos that I have been wanting to get rid of for 10 years. I felt almost nothing, but I did wimp out and use the numbing cream (hint: if your first visit is also your first treatment day, try and stop by Second Skin and pick up the cream before hand, you will pay $20 more at a drugstore.) Ben will explain everything before he begins, the treatment doesn't take very long, for me it was maybe 15 minutes. I used an icepack a couple of times the same day, but I have yet to feel any pain. Easy Peasy! Picture is of later same day. Just waiting for my lymphatic system to clean up. In eight weeks, I'll be back at Second Skin for the second treatment. Thanks Ben!

The technicians/employees at the Kitchener location are great, helpful, skilled and friendly. They are the only reason for the second star. Otherwise this would get a 1 star rating The parent company “Removery” that took over Fade Away Laser is beyond greedy, unfair and disrespectful. I have been going to Fade Away for over a year and they were great. I showed up today for my appointment after Removery has fully taken over and was surprised with an increase to my tattoo removal price by more than double. I am half way done the removal of a tattoo and feel trapped to get it done and Removery has fully taken advantage of me and it’s customers at this Old Fade Away Location. I will be finishing my treatment, never coming back, and strongly encouraging others to find somewhere else for tattoo removal.

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Fade Away Laser. After completing many laser sessions with another business in a different city, I thought it would be easier to switch to someone more local to me. I'm so glad I did. Rob, at Fade Away, was so professional and knowledgeable. Even though I was familiar with the whole laser process, he went over it thoroughly at our consult and even recommended spacing out my sessions even longer in duration (whereas the other place had me coming every 6 weeks like clock work). Rob explained the benefits of being patient and letting time do it's part in the tattoo fading process. And he couldn't have been more correct. I saw better results in the time I was with Fade Away (for only 3 sessions) compared to the 12 with the other company. I am extremely impressed.

Let down... I had high hopes as they have such great social media and branding but...there was no difference in my tattoo what so ever and after I had spoken to them on the phone and agreed on an amount they then charged me tax on top of that and then asked for a tip...so dropped way more than I wanted and got zero difference. I was also rushed out of my appointment and they did not even put anything on my arm, I was asked do you want an ice pack? I said "I don't know do I? I obviously could not hold an ice pack on my arm as I had to drive...my new place put ointment and wrap it nicely for me. My new laser company which charges less and does not expect a tip (literally handed my tip back) has given me fantastic results from only one treatment the tech mentioned to me that it did not look like a laser had even touched my tattoo. I had zero blistering or scabbing with Fade away but with my new place I am blistering and scabbing...It is also funny that they only spent 50 mins on my tattoo and my new place spent almost 2 hours!! I also saw another review stating that they wondered if the machine was even on, makes me wonder too. I honestly think they will take advantage of you if you have never had a tattoo removal because how would you know what it is like and they can squeeze more appointments out of you which is more money in their pockets. Highly recommend going elsewhere if you want results and more money in your pocket.

I'm so thankful that I got my tattoo removal here for the first session n the next session I had went to another tattoo removal place. At that time I never realized what a difference a cooling system does after a tattoo removal. Removery tattoo has this so I figured I'd go and book an appointment at another tattoo removal place. Without the cooling system at Rejuvaderm I had ended up calling an ambulance twice, once afterwards and another one when I woke up the next day. Had I went there first I don't think I'd ever go back to finish getting my tattoo removed. I'm so thankful I had went to Removery Tattoo Removal first because I know that it's not suppose to end up that way. Their cooling system is great and I am not in any discomfort after getting my tattoo removed.

The tattoo removal was great for a first appointment. Madi was awesome and helped distract the mild discomfort with a good conversation. 2 weeks later in notice a massive difference. For the $250 I paid, I’m seriously surprised I got that large area covered. At this point I’d be surprised if i need a second treatment before I cover it up, it was much darker before. And no real downside, 2 weeks in, my skin is a bit itchy, nothing major, nothing that requires treatment.

I'm onto my second tattoo that I'm having lasered by Ben. First one was a full removal, second is a fading for a cover up. So happy with the results! Does it hurt? Yes. Does he make you laugh, provide a sucker (Pomegranate flavored even, hell yeah!), and make much needed distractions to help ease the process a little? Absolutely. For being not that enjoyable of a procedure, he manages to still make it an enjoyable experience. He gives you a free consult, he talks you through the process so you know what to expect, and he doesn't make you feel worse about your awful tattoo than you already do. His pricing is fair, the shop is spotless, the front desk staff is always great, and even though it's downtown, there is parking right in the back. All of the best tattoo shops in Edmonton recommend him too which says a lot. Please don't waste your time looking anywhere else or look around to try and save a buck. Go to a professional with the proper technology and knowledge that's going to do it right.

I was told by my tattoo artist (who was totally displeased with the progress that 4 laser sessions had gotten me) that the machine probably wasn't on, that I was being duped out of money, and I should stop getting laser from them ASAP and go elsewhere if I wanted to continue getting laser. I went in with a tattoo that couldn't really be any smaller and the treatment cost was not 50$ - it was 160$. I found a dermatology clinic in edmonton that charged 100$ with a lot more experience (and a picosure machine that cuts treatments in half with better results) So, lesson learned, go Picosure over q-switch laser/ and pay less to go to a real doctor.

Since Fade Away was purchased by Removery Tattoo Removal & Fading the service has gone down hill. I had my appointment last week rescheduled to the 29th. Which was fine as they offered to reschedule it via text and let me know 2-3 days in advanced. For the appointment on the 29th I received a text at 5:21 telling me my appointment was cancelled and telling me to call. I replied via text asking why it was cancelled and no response. I replied to the cancellation email and no response. Not happy with the new company.

Ive had about 6 treatments from Ben so far and my tattoo (which had very deep black lining) is almost gone! I've had no scarring from the laser even though my tattoo was in a very delicate spot on my wrist. Ben always makes it a very comfortable experience and knows what he's doing. It's pretty good service here. They respond to email quite quickly. It's very very expensive, about the same price per 15 minutes as getting a tattoo is per hour... Also, please remember the price doesn't drop very much even after the tattoo gets lighter and lighter. Also, budget carefully how much you think it will cost. I thought it would take about 6-8 sessions to remove my tattoo but last time I went they said it will probably take 12.

Daniella sat with me and helped me mentally prepare and also I believe went above and beyond to numb and ice the areas- to be honest if it was not for her I probably would have left the appointment. I met with Rob one year prior and he was so helpful, full of expertise and professional. However, I could not get over the fear until now. Just not as gutsy as I used to be. Free consult, very relaxed environment, beautiful and CLEAN office and removal areas. For me it was a painful, but quick experience. They offer numbing cream for purchase, but it needs to be applied 1 hour before. No issues in the days that followed.

I had my first session today with Rob and I am AMAZED with the results as soon as he was finished. The shading I had on part of my tattoo is COMPLETELY gone and the rest lighted up more then I would have ever thought my first time around. It was far more painful then I thought it was going to be but he was incredibly patient and understanding with me. What should have taken him 2 minutes, took nearly a half hour because I could only go for a few seconds at a time. I cant wait to see the changes over the next few weeks and already scheduled my next appointment. The price point is very fair, shocking really as I thought it was going to be far more. I usually dont leave review but this has made me quite frustarted. Staff at this location is amzing but the overall Removery stand point is terrible. I do not like that if you want to call this specfiic location you cannot. It goes to a headquarters in Toronto. Since the shift to the Removery, they have had glitches with their system which means my appointment did not go into the system from my last appt on Nov 4 and now I am having to schedule a new appt through this headquarters. I had to call back to this headquarters as I again did not get a confirmation email or text and the guy Justin told me that he "didnt know what to tell me" regarding that I did not get the confirmation. Then put me on hold so I could be transfered to the kitchener studio and ended up hanging up as I had been on hold for over 8 minutes. I hope these issues are resolved as I shouldn't need to follow up to confirm my session if a confirmation is not sent out AFTER I left my previous session.
