So I could watch Netflix during my tattoo. I love my artist Dana. We bounced ideas off each other for placements and artwork. The tattoo she presented was stellar and is going to be gorgeous.

Got tattooed today by @caryscuttlefish She was pleasant to work with and designed a custom tattoo that was better than I imagined. She was very nice and cute and helpful. Her machine was quiet and with light strokes made for a comfortable tattoo even though it was on my throat. She even offered me vegan snacks that was much appreciated and more artists should do this! I also received a cute care package after the tattoo that included aftercare and some of her art plus little capsules with fortunes in them. 10/10 the rest of the staff were friendly and chill. And the shop had a good vibe. Definitely check these dudes out !

After having a couples tattoos done elsewhere that turned out different than I wanted I was tentative to get another one. Dana and Pure Imagination Tattoo have made my experience getting my new tattoo so wonderful! Dana created exactly what I was imagining in my head and sent a sketch of it to me weeks before my tattoo was scheduled. I expressed my concerns with having the tattoo too dark or the line work too thick and she gave me all my options for avoiding that yet still making the tattoo look great! She was extremely kind and professional throughout the entire experience... from messaging me back quickly leading up to the tattoo, to being on time, quick and efficient with the actual tattoo process. The whole process has ignited my love to tattoos again. 10/10 would recommend Dana and Pure Imagination Tattoo.

Pure Imagination Tattoo is a clean and friendly studio. My sister and her husband recommended I go here for my first anime tattoo and recommended Kabs. He made sure the environment was clean and sanitized. The piece he drew up came out so amazing. I was thoroughly impressed with his work. I found Dana on a blog of Edmonton's best artists and had to track her down since she had moved studios since the post. Initially I had to coordinate with her from another province, and she was very helpful, the design she came up with was exactly what I'd had in mind and I only had one small tweak. Going in for the tattoo she was very professional and did an excellent job. I sat for 2 sessions (lines and color) and she was great the whole time, not particularly chatty but that was okay because neither am I. She did answer any questions I'd had thoroughly which was lovely. I am very happy with her work and I'm just going through the healing process from the color, so far it continues to look great. Recommending her 100% to anyone looking for some work done! The studio itself is clean and maintained with a great atmosphere to settle into. A little on the other artists: Carys - She has a very fun and cute energy. She was very chatty with her clients and helped them settle into the chair with ease. I saw her sit with two clients and both were very happy with their work. Good luck and congrats on your graduation this January! Steve - Steve is the shop owner and DJ. I didn't interact with him much, but when he wasn't busy working with his own clients or on his own drawings, he would float around and check on everyone, make sure they were okay and didn't need anything. He has tons of wicked art in his corner and besides that I didn't get to know him all that well. Summary: Fantastic and talented team!! Thank you!

I was referred to Kabs by my brother, he had gotten a tattoo from him a few years ago which looked pretty awesome so I was sure that he could conceptualize my idea. He was really helpful through the whole process, he would suggest ideas to add to the tattoo to make the idea even better. On the day of my appointment, he was very accommodating and put on a mask before we started even though the mandate was lifted simply because I was wearing a mask. The atmosphere was very fun, safe and clean. It felt very friendly and non judgmental. Plenty of his coworkers checked in throughout the process and were all very supportive and uplifting. In addition, he has plenty of art and little trinkets on his wall so you'll always have something to look at! Very well deserved 5 stars.

I used to follow Steve's art at his previous job and fell in love with a piece of flash years ago. I held off getting it as I had a couple of changes I wanted to make and wasn't familiar with tattoo etiquette. After seeing Steve opened a new shop, and seeing the image was still available I decided to go for it. And I've received nothing but compliments since. Steve was willing to make some minor changes to the original artwork to better suit my style. The shop was clean and everyone was incredibly polite at both my consult and tattoo appointments. Communication was incredibly easy through Instagram, and the whole administrative process was pretty painless. I still feel like I made out on the better end of the deal for what I paid, and I will be sending people in their direction for any future work, myself included.

Really impressed with this shop! Was greeted upon my arrival as if I were an old friend, which is a welcoming exchange. The three artists are all talented in their own unique styles and quirky personalities which complement each other and make this shop feel like a home away from home. My tattoo experience was just elevated to a whole other level! There was some candy provided by the shop for when my energy levels were running low and Carys was very understanding and versatile to my needs during the process. Needless to say, I was very impressed with the end result and the attention to aftercare instructions so I could avoid any ill fate to my fresh tattoo. I went home happier than before I arrived. This weekend I got the most Kawaii, adorable, sweetest, cutest and best tattoo to date. Carys hand drew a Krampus (Belsnickle) for me from a poorly explained idea. She magically figured out exactly what I was going for and not only sent me a sketch prior to me coming but a full color version as well! The tattoo itself went very well. Carys is light handed and checks in with how you're doing frequently. She enforced a few breaks when she noticed I was powering through and even realized that I have a color sensitivity. Near the end when I was flagging hard, she talked me through it. It's hard to focus on how much it hurts when you're trying not to move from laughing so hard. I've never been one to commit to just one artist but Carys has won me over. Take my money Carys!!!

I absolutely fell in love with Cary's artwork when looking for a new artist to work with. I emailed her talking about a concept I was playing around with in my head. She got back to me very quickly, and was totally on board with my idea. I sent my deposit and we booked the appointment! I gave her a few things I wanted in the tattoo but gave her artistic freedom for the rest. She sent me a rough sketch to see what I thought and if I wanted any changes made. I was blown away! Absolutely in love with it. No changes needed! She sent me the colored version, my absolute favorite piece of artwork. I showed up to my tattoo appointment, the tattoo went very well! She made sure to check in on how I was doing, we took breaks to stretch. 5 hours flew by. She was a perfectionist and a professional in every aspect of my tattoo. I’m a huge Halloween lover, and have wanted a tattoo to show that for years, but while still showing my personality as well, so I finally got it today. Steve did an amazing job! The experience was great as well, he was so nice and made sure I knew that if I felt it was starting to hurt too much and I needed to take a break that it was totally fine and that there was no rush. There were some tweaks I wanted made from the original picture I had and he nailed them perfectly! I love it so much, it’s absolutely adorable!

I was at Pure Imagination Tattoo last week, I had booked an appointment after an online consultation with my artist, Carys Cuttlefish. A few days before my appointment she sent me a sketch, which she happily tweaked for me after I got a look at it, and then sent a full color rendering so I knew (more or less) exactly what I would be getting! I've detailed my experience below: The Shop: The shop is located in a quiet professional building. I found it easy to get to and there is ample free parking close to the door. There are some stairs to get up to the shop (not sure if there is a wheelchair accessible door for those unable to use stairs). When you walk into the shop the atmosphere is professional, but also relaxed. Every artist has their own space, decorated with their own art and to their own style. I appreciated being able to get an idea of all the artists own style, and it was a cool way to separate the open shop into a more homey environment. I was immediately greeted by everyone in the shop, and they made me feel welcome while my artist was setting up. Throughout my appointment there was ample conversation with both my artist as well as the other artists and clients in the shop. The conversation was fun and respectful, and I enjoyed the light and upbeat atmosphere it created. My Artist: My appointment was with the shop apprentice, Carys. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, Carys was smiling and genuinely happy to be there and to be working on my tattoo. I was really excited by some of her previous tattoos and had asked for one in a similar style, and the sketch and following rendering she provided me before coming in were amazing! It left no doubt in my mind that Carys could easily bring an idle thought of mine into an amazing tattoo that will be with me forever. Throughout the appointment Carys was polite and friendly, always making sure I was comfortable and happy to stop whenever I needed a break. She also gets very excited when she starts to see the tattoo coming together, which made it exciting for me as well! Overall: I was very happy with the way my time at Pure Imagination went. I'm looking forward to coming back again to more awesome art, and would highly recommend for anyone looking for an awesome tattoo experience to take a look at the artists here!

This was my first tattoo and after much research I decided on Pure Imagination Tattoo Collective. I am so glad I did! Dana created my tattoo exactly as I wanted and I could not be happier with the result. Dana is professional, friendly, knowledgeable and a fantastic artist. The collective was a friendly welcoming atmosphere and spotlessly clean. Hygiene is obviously very high on their list of priorities and I felt very safe even at this crazy time of Covid. Steve is a talented artist who puts you at ease while tattooing and is great to deal with from beginning to end. He listens to the ideas I have and gives positive responses to make sure I get the best tattoo and experience possible. The machines he uses are quiet so you can have a conversation with him at a normal tone. First time at Pure Imagination Tattoo, parking lot is close to the entrance of the building and not congested. Although not as easy to find as it does not have a ginormous sign above the entrance like your typical street front tattoo shop, it's subtle signage gives a preview of what you will find inside. Pure Imagination has a professional, calm and relaxing atmosphere. Clean, subtle and low key with no unnecessary distractions like a constantly ringing phone, fish tanks or piercing studio. The artwork on the walls shows the quality of artists working here. This is the place get quality artwork tattooed at a price that should be higher.

For the record, I used to go to another studio for tattoos but will now be going here from now on. I went to my old artist at another studio for this piece I wanted, he told me that he wouldn’t be able to do it. I then went to other artists (5 different) around the city and they told me the same thing or tried to give me something that was so vastly far from the original it wouldn’t of even been the same meaning. Brad is my guy now, he is an amazing artist and such a cool guy to talk with during my sessions. From the beginning he was honest with me about my tattoo and made minor suggestions/recommendations on how to make it better (which he did). I recieved a custom tattoo from Carys Cuttlefish, it happened to be to cover self harm scars and she made the whole process from design to finish very calm and therapeutic. She understood my need for healing and felt happy to be a part of that. It was my first color piece and I found that she was very supportive and encouraging through the tougher parts. Her touch was very gentle and definitely made all of the difference! She also gave me an adorable after care package with some of her art, fortune pills for each recovery day and a lil sticker. I had an all around great day getting my tattoo done at Pure Imagination Tattoo Collective. The rest of the artists are friendly, fun and bring a great vibe to getting ink! Their space on 142nd had some problems as a building, so I am stoked to see what their new space closer to Kingsway will bring them in 2019!

I hired Steve in 2017 to do a full sleeve on my right arm. His heavy hand and technique caused a lot of damage to my skin. I went in to see Brad today to get some "fixes" done to a previous tattoo. When I first entered, everyone was welcoming and friendly. The shop was clean and bright. Getting into the tattoo, Brad was professional and clean. He let me know about his tools and what was going to happen. He had ideas on how to get what I was looking for that I didn't think of. When we were done, he was very informative on the aftercare and what to expect. Great experience! Thanks so much for bringing my tattoo back to life and fixing everything I didn't like about it before. I will definitely come and see you again and recommend others to as well.

Seen Brad today for my first session on my tattoo. When I walked in I noticed the top notch cleanliness of the shop and I could feel the good vibes between the artists. My experience with Brad has been great so far, he is an Amazing artist. Given the design freedom I did for my tattoo he came with a design that I fell in love with and was more then I could have ever dreamed of and was exactly what I wanted.
