My brother and I came here for a memorial piece. After being recommended by a friend. We were told that bear would be the artist but we would have to wait several months. We waited and then we get farmed out to a guest artist. Ok... my brother had an appt with the artist and about a week prior found out he would not make the appt. The guest artist (preston hamilton) called my brother and yelled at him for cancelling (my brother was trying to reschedule). After this sort of treatment my brother and I "ate" our deposits and will never go back. Do not recommend.

Kurt did a really bad job with my arm tattoo. He is really slow and a rip off. Don't get work done by him. Heard good things about the owner, wish I had seen him.

This how my experience went .. first to start it was at a fundraiser for vets , and service dogs . They call saying that they are ready for me I show up an now I waited a extra hour to even get seen . Not only did they not finish the tattoo it felt rushed an the craftsmanship was worse then I've ever seen an I have a lot of tattoos an now I have to pay someone else to c if they can fix the mess or cover it .. I don't recommend this artist if u could call him one .. I truly hope he reads this an works towards improving his profession ... this was my biggest mistake ever .. the tattoo was my beagles paw print ...

The staff here are great but the tattoos are not. I wasn't tattooed by Bear himself but one of the other artists. A friend of mine and myself went in for a Valentine's Day flash special to each get a cute little piece for something fun to do. The experience was great but the line-work was incredibly shakey and poorly done, as you can see in the photo. At this point my tattoo is just over a year old and it still looks bad. I will eventually be getting it covered up and the design of the original tattoo will be moved and improved by someone else. Overall, my experience was good but my tattoo wasn't so I wouldn't recommend coming here, especially not for something that's very line-work intensive.

Very unprofessional Owner and the artist I seen (which I was told by the Owner was his apprentice) did terrible work. I'll be bringing my business to another shop to fix the tattoo started here. As another reviewer mentioned, the Owner doesn't take kindly to poor reviews on social media and I unfortunately have experienced that first hand.

Came in for an APPOINTMENT.. guy tells me he won't have time to do my tattoo. Told him I would have appreciated a call as I drove half an hour there and now have to drive half an hour home. All he said was: "Well I was kind of busy here." You think you're time is more valuable then mine? A call would have taken less than 2 minutes. Some customer service. I will NOT be returning!

So I went here about 5 years ago. I wasn't gonna make a review but every time I look at my tattoo it upsets me. First I went in and was talked out of getting my tattoo solid black. On top of that the artist at the time was pregnant and complained the whole time about how she was hungry (which I said several times to please eat something.) So I think she rushed it. The tattoo ended up infected (I have many tattoos so I know for sure how to properly care for them) Now that years have passed you can really see the issues with it. Theres some spots that the line work is totally gone, and many blow outs. My friend calls it my "half eaten cookie" because its a crescent moon thats super jacked up. I'm giving two stars because she shop was cute. But all in all I don't think anyone should go there. Which sucks because I feel like Bear is very passionate about tattoos. But the artist that was there at the time did a very poor job.

Came in for a tattoo, was talking to someone about it when this grouchy SHORT guy decided to throw his opinion in... I can only imagine that he was the owner behaving poorly as I doubt he would have said what he did if he was just an artist. I should have walked out then, but my girlfriend wanted a nose piercing, same old guy tells us to go see the people at dragon fx????? Dafuq

I volunteered at Bear's Skin Art for a weeklong veteran's benefit event in which artists and even guests artists from around Alberta donated their days to raise money for XSK9 - a charity that matches rescue dogs with soldiers! What a great cause! The place is beautiful inside as well.

My sister and I were booked for tattoos elsewhere and at the start of the appointment we requested some small changes. The artist told us, "That isn't really my style," so we were turned away. It was a Saturday morning and we were desperate to get our tattoos done. I called Bears Skin and although they were closed that particular day, a gentleman answered the phone (I forget his name, ahh!) and told us to come in anyways. We were there within 10 minutes and he started our tattoos within 15 and gave us exactly what we wanted. Best tattoo experience yet!

Bear's Skin Art.. the reputation speaks for itself. The proprietor is a legend in the local Tattoo community. I recently had my first tattoo, a half sleeve, completed at Bear's studio by artist Anda Abrams and I couldn't be happier! The detail she put in it is unbelievable! Her professional demeanor and relaxed confidence allowed this nervous first timer to calm myself and enjoy the experience. I felt like I was in good hands, both with business and with Anda. I have referred several friends and will one day be back in her chair myself.

It's been long enough I can finally talk about it... I signed the papers to have a "Black and Gray" polish eagle. The dude colored my eagle grey and colored his feet yellow and his tongue red. The eagle is , by tradition, white! I was so choked I couldn't go back. I am still too embarassed to take my shirt off around my Polish inlaws.
