Went with my Wife and my buddy. My wife got a rainbow and some cat paws from Janice and it came out great! The watercolours looks so vibrate and great. Very high quality stuff and better then what my wife originally wanted. Me and my buddy got the Valknut and the Vegvísir. I had Graham for both of mine. Dude was perfect. Did exactly what I wanted and it was a good time. I'm currently going to work with him for a 4th tattoo. No one will touch my skin. 10/10 - Would take off my shirt off for another man again.

Been thinking about a tattoo for over 25 years. Planned getting one (of my own design) for my 50th b'day but the time slipped away for 1.5 years. Investigated studios in Toronto, Canada but was turned off by their arrogance. I am an artist myself and understand a bit more than I let on sometimes. Well, with we planned visiting Montreal and I decided to do some research... The Tattoo Box came up with very good reviews. I decided to call them and book an appointment. Amanda took the call, asked me to email my design and after a couple of back'n'forth emails, she agreed to lay the ink as I wanted. I must tell you that I was extremely pleased with the whole experience. Amanda's an awesome person who made me feel quite at home... her artistry and technique was fantastic. If ever I get a chance to pass by again, I will not hesitate. The Tattoo Box is wonderful! Go there!

I booked my appointment for 4 PM on a Saturday. Since I'm out of town, I figured that was best. When I got there, my tattoo artist, Amanda, was working on 2-3 walkins. They got a small tattoo, yet Amanada only started to work on my tattoo at 5:30 PM. She gave an estimate of 1hour to 1 1/2 hour for the tattoo completion. It took 2 1/2 hours. When she was doing my tattoo, she had difficulties with her machine, so switched it out. On my tattoo, it is VERY visible where she had the "bad" machine. My outline is sloppy and crooked. The color is uneven and splotchy. In the end, she gave me the tattoo at a discount, but she ruined the top part of the tattoo with the "bad" machine. The team was less than professional for making me wait (I had an appointment) so they could do their walkins..

It's been a couple of years now, but I once walked into Tattoo Box on a day of the week and Janice just so happened to be working. She was absolutely awesome to work with, especially since I came in with a ridiculous character design in mind. She was patient and quick. She did a wonderful job and I would definitely go back! We walked in on a Sunday around 2pm to see if they had any walk-in space. They had 3 artists working and said they were booked for the rest of the day. Kate who was working a back piece said she might be able to squeeze in my friend in an hour or so. We went for some food and came back. My friend had picked out some flash art from Janice that Kate was going to do. Luck struck again when Janice was able to tattoo my friend because her client was late. Which gave me room for Kate to tattoo me. Both our pieces came out awesome and the price was very fair. The atmosphere was great and very laid back but still professional. If you are ever in montreal and want a tattoo I suggest stopping by at the start of your trip. Cause we were super lucky to get squeezed in.

I went as a walk-in after some really unsatisfactory service at MTL Tattoo and couldn't have been happier. Janice tattooed me (she also did a stellar cover-up on my boyfriend years ago) and was so helpful with making it exactly what I wanted while still being affordable. I was tattooed by Karmen and she did an amazing job, really can't get over how well the tattoo came out. It took 2.5 hours for a drawing covering about half of my outer right thigh, with some subtle shading/lining. She made sure that the lining was to my liking and discussed my preferences/possible approaches before starting to get the stencil exactly right. The reference piece has the appearance of being drawn and shaded with marker scribbles, and I honestly think Karmen did such a good job that it looks like the original artist drew the piece straight onto my leg.

I have been getting tattooed the last 20 years by different artists around the world. I like to try different styles. Every tattoo has a special meaning to me. Janice was probably the most gentle. I usually swell like a balloon for days but after 24 hours I had no swelling. She took her time but still managed to finish the job quite quickly. She's very good at small detail. Her lines are perfect and her tattoos last a long time.

Even my toe tattoos which she did many years ago now have held up over time, and are still looking super solid, which is rare for toes. Not every tattoo is a good idea, and a true professional like Amanda knows what will work and what won't. Visited Tattoo Box today after a tattoo shop in Laval would not take walk-ins. Although i drove 45 minutes there and back from Laval, it was well worth it. I went as a walk-in at a busy time and still only waited approx 1h30. I highly recommend this place. Super clean shop and friendly people! Wish I knew my artists' name but I forgot to ask. She is new there, had red curly hair. Has 10 years experience under her belt though. Will definitely be back!

Just got my first tattoo done by Graham over at Tattoo Box, great experience! It was a pretty big piece and I was feeling pretty stressed out cause of the pain, but Graham took the time to go at slow (tell me where it would hurt more, would "ask me if i'm ready, etc). Also, actually drew the tattoo on me directly, which was pretty impressive! So, if you want to get awesome looking tattoo, in a shop with a caring and skillful team, go get it done at TATTOO BOX!!

Just done my first tattoo in Tattoo Box with Graham. He listened to what I had in mind, provided his own design that was much cool that the one I showed him, worked with me on small personal details, explained the whole process and voila - two hours passed so quickly and my tattoo is done, looking insanely cool! I found tattoo box online and decided to check it out based on the many good reviews it has on google. I had found a picture on google of a sugar skull and when I visited tattoo box I showed Graham what I had in mind. He said he would sketch it up and make it better and adjust it more to my liking. Going back two days later, Graham showed me the new sketch he had made of the picture I had shown him; it was much nicer and better detailed, something I had only been able to imagine in my head. To conclude I really recommend tattoo box, I would say it is one the best places in Montreal for tattoos especially referring Graham.

I was nervous about the design and the pain, and was pleasantly surprised with both; the pain being hardly more than a discomfort, and the design going far and beyond my expectations. Two weeks ago I was in Montreal for the first time to see Beatrice in particular and the FrancoFolies in general. Wandering about the city I started thinking about getting a tattoo. I'd actually been pretty anti-tattoo until recently - for no very clear reason. The idea was growing on me when I happened to be strolling down the Ave Des Pins heading for the evening's music. As I walked by the Tattoo Box Janice was sitting on the front steps. I kept going for about a block and did a u-turn. It was somehow obvious to me that this is where I'd get my first tattoo, and Janice would be the one to create it. When I came in she was welcoming and attentive. She made a beautiful first draft of the tattoo almost instantaneously. Two days later I was back for maiden tattoo voyage. I wish I could convey how special an experience it was. Maybe saying that I didn't want her to stop gives some idea. Janice was meticulous, connected and just plain fun to be around. The outcome was astonishing. If I wasn't far away from Montreal, I'd probably have been back again for at least one more tattoo experience by now... dragging friends and relations along with me. Seriously - she's terrific.

i was fortunate to get some work done by Janice Beattie and it turned out to be an amazing piece. She helped me develop my idea into something that would look good and came up with a palette of colors. I trusted her judgement and was greatly rewarded. She was patient and gentle with this, my first tattoo, in a rather tender place, as i realized that i do not have the tolerance for pain that i had imagined, I was thankful that she works so quickly.
