Haven’t had the pleasure yet, however I’ve been following the artist Miranda for some time now, and look forward to getting a piece by her. All the tattoos I’ve seen posted by her, have clean lines, beautiful and saturated colours, flawless transitions, great compositions...just wall to wall solid tattoos. As for customer service, I have messaged a few times, talking colours and inks, and she was polite and accommodating every time. Will definitely make my way out there for a tattoo post pandemic for sure.

I just didn't 100% enjoy my experience with the tattoo artist. I wanted a particular type of flower (buttercup) and picked up a peony design because she said my flower of choice was not in her style. It was in my first 2-3 tattoos and I wanted to be respectful of his art but I think you have to respect the client in the first place in his requests. The stencil was shown to me the same day there, so I didn't want to argue. With hindsight, I find it a shame even if I like the tattoo in the end. C'était dans mes 2-3 premiers tattoos et je voulais être respectueuse de son art mais je pense qu'il faut respecter le client en premier lieu dans ses demandes. Le stencil m'a été montré le jour même sur place, je n'ai donc pas voulu argumenter. Avec du recul, je trouve ça dommage même si j'aime le tatouage au final.

I leave 4 vs 5 stars only because the ball of my new septum piercing came out twice and had to go back each time for adjustments, and that was really frustrating... Got a labret and septum piercing at this place. Has great reviews online and seemed like a reputable studio. First, the piercer did not speak English. I usually do not care about this considering it’s Montreal and a bilingual city, but this studio serves a large English speaking population and is a highly ranked studio so I feel the piercer should be bilingual. Especially because piercing is technically a medical procedure. The piercer had supposedly been piercing for 20 years but totally botched my septum so that it was in my upper cartilage. He did not think that it was done incorrectly. Also, too small jewelry was put in and no measuring was done ahead of time. I had to run down the street to Mauve piercing for them to tell me it was done incorrectly and I had to remove it. The jewelry was in my nose tip so that it changed the shape of my nose. Piercer was a nice guy but not the caliber of piercer I would expect. My labret was ok but the post put in did not accommodate for swelling. This was one of the worst piercing experiences I’ve ever had. No refund was offered. I do not recommend this place. Go to Mauve piercing down the street!

I've had great piercing experiences at MTL Tattoo, but when I went in for my first tattoo, I was quickly scared off. I went in with a simple design that I had been sitting with for months, and they kept trying to change my mind on location, size, and design. For me, it was so important that it was the way I wanted it, since it couldn't be extremely visible (for professional reasons). They really didn't seem comfortable with doing something that they just needed to trace, and proceeded to tell me that it would be $300. Eventually, I just left and went to Tattoo Box where Janice gave me exactly what I wanted for only $100. In the end, I didn't want to change my mind on the tattoo that I had been longing for for months, since it was about to be on my skin for the rest of my life.

I normally wouldn't review somewhere I've never been, but it appears all the one star reviews I've read are also from people who have never been to Mtl tattoo. They are simply reviewing because their "friend" told them to, therefor all the negative reviews are through the bias of a single person who appears to have a vendetta. I've been seeing great work coming out of Mtl Tatto over the years and sure I will continue to see more. Miranda's work is creative and well done. I went and got a single 3rd lobe piercing in October by Luna. The piercing experience was fine, but the earring which I paid over $200 for broke in less than 1 month. The consent form I signed says that MTL tattoo guarantees their jewelry so I emailed to ask about options for replacement. They were very difficult, and ultimately have not replied to my last 3 emails. I didn't get a response from Luna on instagram either. They still have refunded my any money, or replaced the jewelry they guarantee. Fair piercing experience, but you're screwed if you have complications afterwards. Terrible customer service, given they've ghosted me! ADDENDUM: Reply to MTL tattoo The threaded earring’s threads stripped and broke, so the earring fell out of my ear. We both know that earrings with threads should not just fall out of your ear - this only happens when they break. I also have email receipts, including you accusing me of lying about the earring and of 3 un-answered emails over an 8 day period. I also emailed you the day the earring broke, not a month after. You made it very clear that you weren’t willing to help me, despite guaranteeing against broken jewelry. Your rude emails, accusing me of lying, and ignoring my emails for 8 days, and lack of willingness to stand behind your product is what lead to this review. It is odd that you can reply to a review within 12 hours, but it takes over a week for you to reply to my email….

Les employés m'ont la 1e.fois dit, on garde le dépôt pour la conaultaion ( qui eat supposé etre gratuite) c'est normalement pour garder sa place. Deuxièmement, la tatoueuse s'est mise a me me raconter sa vie pour justifier le fait de garder l'argent. Les employés m'ont écrit que je faisais toute une histoire en demandant une mise en demeure car 100$ ce n'était rien. Mais pour moi c'est la moitié d'une journée de travail. Finalement, j'ai choisit un endroit ou les employés sont respectueux envers leurs futurs clientèles. Je déconseille fortement cet endroit. Je donne mon avis ici pour que d'autres personnes ne se fassent pas avoir comme moi. Cette histoire c'est passé l'an passé. Si je pouvais mettre 0 je le mettrais.

Moth Miranda was understanding and took her time.. to draw it out and made sure to cover everything. my whole Half sleeve was a coverup. plus my forearm.. I still have a few touch ups but the sleeve looks great. Even after a sugar low and ambulance called , the staff was very friendly and understanding... The staff is very well prepared, and talented. J'ai peut-être été juste "malchanceuse" étant donné les avis positifs donnés pour cet endroit, mais le fait de ne pas mettre le bon bijou et de ne pas regarder plus que ça le piercing quand il y avait un gros problème avec celui-ci, j'ai trouvé qu'il y a eu un gros manque de professionnalisme...

I got tattooed by Shamus two yrs ago now I guess and I have wanted nothing more than to get back there! I had a FULL DAY booked but then the second lock down came along and ruined that. Everyone there is professional, personable and talented. I would not hesitate to recommend this shop and cannot wait to get there again myself. J’ai été choquée par ce manque de professionnalisme et blessée par son attitude irrespectueuse. Je tiens à rappeler que chacun son expertise, je ne suis pas perceuse et si je viens vous demander des conseils c’est que je n’en ai justement PAS la connaissance. Lorsque je paye une prestation d’un certain montant, je m’attends, au moins à une bienveillance et une attitude respectueuse du personnel. Je pense que l’ambiance décontractée du salon (certes très appréciée) ne devrait pas impacter le professionnalisme des perceurs. Heureusement cela ne concerne qu’une personne du salon car mon perceur a gardé une attitude bienveillante et professionnelle de la première à la dernière rencontre. C’est dommage... Justine.

I had an infected surface piercing, first time in two years (didn't get it done there) and it was pretty swollen and hurt so much. I went to both North and South shops to get it checked, and they were great. Gave me salt for compresses and balm to stretch the skin. A week later is almost as if nothing happened. Came here after reading all the good reviews. Me and 2 of my friends all wanted matching tattoos and they sent us to 3 different artists in the shop (completely fine). However my tattoo looked nothing like my other 2 friends tattoos. Their lines are thin, straight. My tattoo has blow outs from the artist going too deep, which caused the lines to not be straight and the points of the tattoo to not be sharp. The tattoo is SO dark also, which it shouldn’t be because the picture & the outline was very light thin lines. I now have to get it removed for $125 a session and because it’s so deep into my skin I’m scared of how many sessions it will need. Disappointed, I also live in Toronto so I couldn’t come back and show them. Saddened.

Piercer more sympathetic but once at home I see the hole slightly off center. Given the initial reception I did not wish to go back, limit for fear of being yelled at lol because she had me checked in the mirror. Too bad, it's my mistake, I live with it. A few months later, the jewel is pulled out overnight and the front goes into the lobe - ouch! Pain and bleeding, note that the recommended jewel has the end almost the size of the rod, it pierced through the front and tore the entrance to the hole. However during my "stupid" questions at the beginning, I asked if a loop was not safe, answer: no "good" piercer would use a loop. Yet my previous 8 piercings had all had a loop without any problems, and this one turned out to be the worst recommendation there is. Anyway, I go the very morning of the incident with my bleeding hole, same girl at the reception, as unpleasant as ever. Always as much the impression of disturbing, not a smile, I explain the reason for my presence and concretely, she could not have cared more. "Sit down, the piercer is busy" Suffice to say that I will not set foot there again. I even fear that the show will come to shout at me after this comment, that is to say the climate of confidence conveyed lol. I see from the comments that I am not the only one to have had a bad experience of piercing and antipathy at the reception. I can confirm. (Original) Allée pour un 3eme trou au lobe, mon amie et moi avons été frappées de la condescendance de la receptionniste, répondait à mes questions comme si j'étais vraiment débile et lui faisais perdre son temps. Pierceuse plus sympathique mais une fois chez nous je constate le trou légèrement décentré. Vu l'accueil initial je n'ai pas souhaité y retourner, limite de peur de me faire engueuler lol car elle m'avait fait vérifier au miroir. Tant pis, c'est mon erreur, je vis avec. Quelques mois après, le bijou se tire pendant la nuit et l'avant rentre dans le lobe - aie ! Douleur et saignement, remarquez que le bijou recommandé a le bout quasi de la taille de la tige, ca a transpercé par l'avant et déchiré l'entrée du trou. Pourtant lors de mes questions "bêtes" du début, j'avais demandé si une boucle n'était pas sécuritaire, réponse : aucun "bon" pierceur n'utiliserait une boucle. Pourtant mes 8 piercings précédents avaient tous eu une boucle sans aucun problème, et celui-ci s'est avéré la pire recommandation qui soit. Bref je me rends le matin-même de l'incident avec mon trou saignant, même fille à l'accueil toujours aussi désagréable. Toujours autant l'impression de déranger, pas un sourire, j'explique la raison de ma présence et concrètement, elle n'aurait pas pu plus s'en ficher. "Assois-toi, le pierceur est occupé" Autant vous dire que je ne remettrai plus les pieds là. Je crains même que le salon vienne m'engueuler suite à ce commentaire, c'est dire le climat de confiance véhiculé lol. Je vois aux commentaires que je ne suis pas la seule a avoir eu une mauvaise experience de piercage et d'antipathie à l'accueil. Je peux confirmer.

This story started out terrible and I blame myself for having hope along the way. The artist was late on all appointments, was told to come in later each time, he was super rushed at all times. There was no preparation, I was told that we would just figure it out as we went along since I was choosing patterns. Was told to pay cash only ( I wonder why...) Huge mistake!!! At one session I was even told that "i shouldn't change my mind because the printer to create the stencils was broken." After all is said and done I was left with 3 scars and 3 blown-out areas from over-worked skin on what was supposed to be a simple design. Had to find another artist in the city to help fix my nightmare which is essentially now blacking it all out (which I am still in the process of doing). Super depressed about it. Massive waste of money and emotions with no paper trail. If I could turn back time I would. I can't comment much on the shop, but I can tell the other artists worked very differently.

I visited Montreal Tattoo a few weeks ago in order to get my very first tattoos! I was excited and nervous at the same time. Before my trip to Montreal I researched different tattoo shops on the web trying to find one that looked like it would suit my needs. I wanted to make sure that whichever shop I chose had a good environment and vibe as I was so nervous. Turned out I had nothing to be nervous about. Not only was the pain associated with the process not nearly as bad as I anticipated (I'm a baby with needles and was absolutely 100% comfortable) but my artist went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and at home. I had stopped into the shop the first night I arrived in Montreal just to set up the appointment for the next day. They were able to fit me right in, even on such short notice and were so nice, welcoming, friendly and warm. I worked with Emmanuel. He is AMAZING. Not only did he let me talk his ear off (I talk a lot to begin with and even more if I am nervous) but he took the time to make sure everything was just like I wanted it. The spot I originally chose to place one of the tattoos was not a good spot to pick and Emmanuel made sure to let me know before hand and he and I chose another spot that would look better and be easier for him to work on. He guided me through the process. Anyone who meets him can tell how devoted he is to his craft and the time and care he takes when working with clients. I am planning to get a few more tattoos and will absolutely be going back to Montreal Tattoo and Emmanuel. I would recommend them to anyone, whether it is their first tattoo or their twentieth. They treat all their clients with courtesy and respect. I cannot wait to visit them again!

Je vous recommande n'importe quel autre salon de tatouage sauf celui-ci.
