No hesitations in giving True North Tattoo a 5 star rating. The shop is clean, organized and inviting. As a health care worker, I admired the high standards of cleanliness upheld at this shop. Wayne was flexible in his scheduling and booked me in very quickly. He is professional, respectful and a very talented artist. He graciously allowed me to have company during my tattoo and understand the importance of keeping clients calm and happy during the tattooing process. During my appointment, I had the opportunity to see some of the incredible artwork displayed in the shop. Wayne made the entire appointment comfortable, entertaining and enjoyable. I feel very fortunate to have been a client here and look forward to returning in the future.

So in love with my piece! I wanted a tattoo of my baby, Emma, and reached out to Celeste. She took the photo I sent her and performed some absolute sorcery on my arm, creating the most beautiful piece! The attention to detail in her colours and markings are exactly what I was looking for. I will definitely be back for more, this place is well worth the drive from Trenton for me! The shop was clean and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I had never been to True North Tattoo before, but I had decided on a tattoo. There is an image that I just fell in love with that I wanted from The band called KASADOR and a video from their new album BROOD & BLOOM that I just fell in love with that I wanted. Joel my tattoo artist was able to do the artwork, painlessly, beautifully to my great satisfaction! The staff is friendly. The place is very clean and they have a lot a tattoos to look and choose from. You can bring in your own idea like I did from a video. The consultation was free. You choose your artist. My tattoo is finally posted!

I had two tattoos done by Jen over 2 years ago now. One was a custom design, while one was already designed. I was a little nervous because I hadn't seen the custom design until the day of the tattoo session. The design was spectacular and I was incredibly relieved when Jen showed me her interpretation of my request. I love both my tattoos and would return anytime for either a custom design or something else.

Absolutely love the atmosphere her. Very clean, respectful and friendly staff! My artist Austin, was incredible with my tattoo! I'm not one to handle pain very easily and yet his line work and curviture of the lines (where that was necessary) were absolutely out of this world!! I LOVE IT. we rebooked his earliest day to finish up my left arm sleeve for the colouring as I could only sit for 2 hours and get this outlining done! 10/10 would recommend Austin at True North for your next artwork :)

I waited almost 7 months for an appointment ( no problem). And then Wayne was late and then still didn't have my design drawn up. While we sat and waited, he hastily drew up a fairly sloppy design, for what I expected for what I was paying and what I knew of his reputation. When I protested in ANY way, he became arrogant...anyway at the end of the day, I booked the whole day, he seemed only glad to get it over with. My work is definately sub- par. I am not a tattoo newbie. I sat all day- no complaining at all. I am sooo disappointed.

I've had Jen work on my arm for about 10 hours, working towards a sleeve. She has been amazing to work with. I came with a vision in my head, and tried my best to describe what I wanted, which was all over the place. When I came to get it done, the drawing she had done up was exactly what I wanted. After that, I gave lots of free reign for her artwork, and she has blown me away with her ideas, and her art that is now on my arm. Both her and Wayne are hilarious and kept me laughing the whole time. I would definitely recommend going here! Shop is super clean and tidy too.

Made an appointment with Jen for two tattoos. Her prices were extremely reasonable. Line work was amazing. Definitely a hidden gem in Kingston. They do take walk ins here but book ahead of time so you don’t miss out! I came from out of town and booked two weeks before appt.

This place is pure badassery. I must be one of the most complicated people on the planet to please, but not once did any of the artists complain about me eating pizza, watching Netflix on my iPad or just my general offensive demeanor. They rolled with it AND set me up with some slick ass art. On top of that, I was requesting specific script, 3D effects, and other feats pure wizardry and they delivered. Well worth the money and the 8 hour time investment.

Worst tattoo experience of my life. I had told him at the consultation that I wanted black and white only but when the day came around he kept trying to push colour on me. When I refused, he got very upset and started telling me how he's been tattooing longer than I was alive. I had to feign being in pain for him to stop and lied and said i would come back for colour another time, he knew I wasn't going to come back so he tattooed me with some orange and said "now you have to come back" which I through was super crazy not to mention totally unprofessional. He also moved my deposit of 180 I had put down to the next session that we were supposed to do the colour on because he knew there was no way in hell I was coming back lol. I will definitely be getting this tattoo covered at another shop.
