I first came for the mystery tattoo pull.loved my bats that I pulled (sean).then few weeks ago did a walk in they were so great about it it was a simple fast one love it so much that i decided to go up the rest of the way up my spine then i saw the horrific mess my Celtic butterfly had become back of my neck ..leanne did such an amazing job covering it up and was so amazing i was having a hard time especially the first hour she kept reasuring me .its a lil sensitive in spots and being a cover up it hurt a lil more but she made me feel ok about being a bit of a pain baby .and was totally good when I needed to stop for a min and even when I went to my car to get candy.she also did my sons mystery pull and I love his also .so cant wait for us to finish my spine

I went here for ink and the artist Stephanie was lovely. My tattoo was a simple qoute on the inside of my arm but Stephanie helped make sure it's right in the middle and managed to make my uncle who came with me feel included and part of the experience. Be sure to check out the artist portfolios but I'd highly recommend Stephanie and I plan to be back here for future tattoos.

I didn't know it was possible to have such a rude customer service experience in such a short period of time, but here I am with my review: I am interested in stick-and-poke tattoos as a hobby, and have been discussing this with my tattoo artist, who helpfully has provided me with correct inks, needles, caps, and resources to begin my journey. By no means do I wish take up tattooing as a profession, as it is respectable trade meant for people with a higher level of artistic talent than my own. That being said, there is no harm in dabbling, but I would like to dabble safely, with the correct tools. I lacked transfer paper, and since I only needed one sheet, I went to a shop one block from my office to ask if could purchase one. I entered with a smile, a pleasant attitude, and explained my situation. One worker immediately replied that they were not a supply house, and turned his back to me before walking away. The other worker was a fellow that I had actually met 12 years prior, and I commented "Oh! I know you!" in a friendly way. His immediate response was, "No, you don't." I explained that I had served him coffee for several years at a now defunct shop on Main Street. He shook my hand, but also was clearly not interested in helping. Rain City Tattoos, I respect the art of tattooing, but you certainly aren't doing yourselves any favours in so harshly shunning such a simple request. You couldn't sell me ONE SHEET of paper? Really? I work less than one block from your shop in a building of 200 people in a similar age group who I would now definitely not recommend visit you. Mighty neighbourly.

With fathers day being this weekend, I've been thinking of something to do to still celebrate my late daddio. So I did this all thanks to Trish at Rain City. I couldn't recommend her more! She made sure I was happy with placement, how it looked in ratio to my ankles, she made sure I was comfortable, and even modified the tattoo a bit for me. She was super easy and chill to talk to and her work is so precise and beautiful. I will be getting all my tattoos from her moving forward. Rain City was easy to book with, easy to get to, the facilities are clean, and each tattoo corner represents the artist using it so well. The only thing is that parking can be troublesome, but literally everything else was so superb. Thanks so much for booking me in for this memorial tattoo! Looking forward to more with Trish!

Got a terminator tattoo on my left forearm here from Stephanie, she was polite & professional as well as accommodating. I should note I'm power wheelchair bound so the place is wheelchair accessible. When I first contacted them about consultation I got a response and a estimate within a day so they have a super fast response time. Great place to get a tattoo. Definitely going back here for my other forearm, not sure what but I recommend this place great pricing too

This review is for the shop overall and then for a particular artist, Leanne- buckle in, it is a long review! I would put this as one of the top tattoo shops in Vancouver. If you are going in for your first piece, or if you have a bunch already, this is an absolutely awesome shop. The vibe is very chill and laid back, but also professional. There are several artists and they all have their specialties, but none of them are pretentious. Each artist approaches every design with the same care and attention to detail, whether it be a small symbol on a wrist, a touch up if old work, or a huge multi-session piece. They treat their clients like equals, it is so refreshing. No elitism here. Each artist also takes the time to explain correct aftercare which is so important. Each artist also seems to genuinely enjoy working in the shop and working with people, the rapport and conversations in the shop are fun and interesting. The shop is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Everything has its place and I didn't see a speck of dust. Everyone follows very strict health and safety practices. The decor is really interesting as well, nice and bright and tons to look at. Each artist had their own space filled with art and books. It is very welcoming. I get tattooed by Leanne here and I could not recommend her more. I went with a very vague and nebulous idea and asked her to work her artistic magic and when I came in, she had drawn exactly what I imagined and envisioned. The only change we made was to actually make it a little bigger. Otherwise it was absolutely gorgeous and perfect. Leanne's work is impeccable. She does mostly black and grey work (she does do colour as well but black and grey is her speciality) and it is magical. It's clean and precise. She has a very unique style that you're not going to find anywhere else. You can get a perfect, custom piece for a very reasonable price. Leanne also has a very, very light touch. She is working on a sensitive area on me (inner arm) and I have a very low pain tolerance, but the entire session was completely bearable. She's also really fast which is a huge plus. Leanne is extremely patient and takes the time to do things right. She's very much "measure twice, cut once". She makes sure you're 200% happy before even laying on the stencil. She also takes time to draw on parts of the tattoo that need it. Like I said before, I cannot recommend her more. Tips and tricks for a great tattoo session: - shop is cash only, and make sure to bring enough for a tip! A ton of work goes into the session before and after you leave, so they deserve it. - drink water! Show up on time! Speak up if you don't like something! This is going on your body forever. - wear the correct clothes so that the area they are working on is accessible. Dress comfortably as well since you might be sitting for a while. - bring your artist a coffee or tea or snack. They love that. If you want to go the extra mile, bring enough for everyone. They love vegan treats :) Anyways, thanks so much to Leanne and Rain City. Can't wait to go back!

People were friendly but they double booked my consultation! I ended up not getting the consultation after all as I allotted 1 hour for the appointment and I had to be somewhere else. don't know if this is routine practice here, but hopefully this is one exception as others seem like they have had very good experience here.
