Drove 3 1/2 hrs to see Simon for my daith piercing. I have been doing research for about a year on its benefits for migraines, and I wanted to come to a reputable piercer. Simon came highly recommended by a friend. So, I looked up reviews not only on him, but also Champion and their facilities. Champion Tattoo Studio proved clean, sterile, & safe. Simon is professional, knowledgeable and has an excellent bedside manor. He communicates clearly and has years of experience. If you’re thinking about getting any piercing, I highly recommend Simon. If I choose to have my other side done, I’ll absolutely drive the distance again.

I had initially called to come in and see Simon for a piercing for my friend and myself. I was looking for him and they apparently had no idea where their previous piercer went, but they knew he opened his own shop.. Didn't make sense to me, at all! Then I ended up finding Simon and his shop on my own, to find out that he has told you guys before where his shop was. Not a good way to keep good business around. Not happy with my experience here by any means.

Got a few piercings today The piercer was professional and quite efficient. Very little discomfort involved. He explained the procedure in detail. Was very knowledgeable regarding aftercare and quite personable. The shop is clean I'm new to Olathe and was apprehensive about a new piercer but all my concerns were alleviated. I will be back.

My friend and I were wanting to get piercings and we called literally 20 minutes before close. (Yes I know we’re “those” people????) If you want a quality tattoo done by amazing people you need to go to champion. Most of the time you need to set an appointment but trust me it's worth the wait and the money. The shop is very cool, there is so much fun stuff to look at it's like going to a museum. Both Adam and Carry are verry honest straight shooters and will make sure you have the best tattoo! Listen to them on what's a good idea or bad idea, they are artists and know what they are doing.

Recently went there to get a nose and ear pierce was the worst experience ever!!! The guy so call “Expert” in piercing and tattooing didn’t listen to anything I said & want but when he did listen he said I couldn’t get it & it’s wrong because it’s hard to clean it! He said he would show me the nose jewelry but next thing I know he’s putting it on already! He made me paid for first & Rush me through the whole thing. It’s been couple of days the jewelry fell out of my nose! He rip me off and didn’t pierce my nose correctly.

I was looking to get my ear pierced somewhere near KC. I called and they said come on in..no wait. The people were very friendly and the studio was nice. They explained everything throughout the piercing process and answered all my questions. In addition, I lost the front to my earring the next day so I contacted them about it. They had a new earring in the mail for me within 30 minutes.

I've heard they do excellent work. I have a family member who goes there. But the wait is at least four months. They also refused to do my side at all given the difficulty. Which is a fair point. It may be hard, but it can be done (and has been). So I hesitate to recommend a place where they refuse work simply because they don't want to do it. Which is vastly different than can't be done. I respect that and have been refused for valid reasons (creasing, aging, etc.) in other spots. I have no problem with that! I expect to be told when it's a bad idea. And I appreciate it. But not refused due to inconvenience.

Absolute worst experience with a piercing ever. The gentleman who did my piercing was someone who has done two others on me and botched them all. Why go back to him? Well, I didn’t know he’d be the one working there. He tore my ear when gauging it form a 2 to a 0 at Big Daddy’s Tattoo in the early 2000’s, did a crooked labret piercing on me at another shop off of 435 and Metcal and now the most recent. A nose piercing, which was pierced with jewelry that was too small and caused the piercing to migrate. I had to get the jewelry replaced by a piercer at Aftershock down the road and thankful they seemed to have more knowledge even though they’ve been piercing far less time than him. I have had over 40 piercings at numerous shops in the KCMO area as well as out of state and his are the only ones I’ve ever had trouble with. One more thing to note. You are not giving aftercare instructions, which is a standard practice for all piercing professionals. I will not patreon this shop again and would urge others to do their homework. There’s more than one game in town and you don’t have to settle for mediocrity.

Loved my experience here, A friend and I went to Aftershock down the street first. The place looked Dirty and smelt like they smoked inside. The receptionist was very rude while answering questions for someone who was getting their first tattoo. We decided to go to Champion after searching their reviews. We walked in and it was very clean, the Artists were all in the lobby when you walk in which was welcoming. We were told to CHOOSE the artist we wanted based off of their portfolio, aftershock didn't even ask if we had an artist in mind. Within 5 min of walking in the door we were sitting down with the artists designing our tattoo. Rick did my tattoo, a quote on my forearm, his placement was great and he even asked me specific questions about the placement that I would have never known to think of. Very happy with my tattoo and have already had many compliments. Carrie did my friends first tattoo and she was great too, spent time making sure it was exactly what the customer wanted when designing it, and talked her through every step of the way what she was doing. Her tattoo looked great as well! Adam was also there, the 3 of them got along really great and you can tell they love what they do. The office was very clean and fun! I know where I will go when I get my Sons Tattoo and I will be sending my friends who have been looking for good Artists their way as Well. Thanks Again Champion Tattoo Studio!

First tattoo I have ever gotten and I am very pleased that I made the decision to come here. I have scars on my shoulders and was looking to cover them up with a tattoo. I just turned fourty and never thought of getting any type of tattoo and no I am not going thru a midlife crisis! Everyone there has been great and Rick is the artist doing the work and I spent my first session for five hours today but I can’t thank him enough as he took the time to make sure I get exactly what I was looking for ! I have some more long sessions to go but I absolutely love what he has done so far. Super Long Review Because Tattoos Are Permanent: The Champion crew is incredible. Carrie, Adam, and Rick are great artists AND humans. I only had experience with Rick (at his previous shop), so I was a little nervous heading to the new place. Ten minutes into my appointment, however, and I was already in love. I figure I'll vouch for the shop as a whole first, because for me, artist attitudes and shop vibes are almost as important as ability. Example A: I walked out of another local shop because everything was grey (walls, chairs, floors, etc.) and the artist had a massive ego. Champion is SUPER clean and welcoming with its rad decorations and squishy couches, and my four hour session was comfortable and fun. Each artist has a personal room that can be closed up tight for privacy (and hey, some people use tattoo artists as therapists so they'll batten down the hatches for that sort of privacy, too), but when the doors and windows are open it creates a really fun atmosphere as the artists and clients talk back and forth. The personalities at this shop are a melting pot of greatness. My time at Champion is far from over. Not only am I seeing Rick again in the coming weeks to finish the masterpiece (!) on my thigh, but my sister is a convert as well. Her previous work was done at another shop in the area, but she's finally found "The One" in Champion after seeing my tattoos and level of satisfaction. And listen, the quality of art is evident in the artists' portfolios. These guys have some SERIOUS talent in most every style. The detail work and color jobs are especially outstanding. Not only can they do most anything you're wanting (and do it well), but they take the job seriously enough to tell you no if something is too difficult or ill placed or won't age well or whatever. Rick talked me out of a white ink tattoo and I am forever grateful. I hate that this sounds like a paid plug, but I really do love Rick's work and Champion as a whole. They've got something special over there. Go check 'em out.

While Simon works fast, he put a tiny ring in my wife's septum and she can't even wiggle it. Also he man handled her after she warned him she was nervous with needles then acted like we were an inconvenience. Apparently our money wasn't worth pulling him away from his taco bell and nintendo.-edit Simon contacted me to help and was genuine in wanting to rectify the situation

What an experience and what a one of kind shop. I am used to artists getting you in and out and this shop is truly one who understands what you are getting on your body is for life. Friendship attitudes, professional advice, and great bad ass work. While I live in Kansas City area I will never go anywhere else. This place is what a tattoo shop should be like. I love when I go into this shop that I feel like a friend rather than a customer and they cater to my every need.
