If I could give this place a zero star I would I called before going in to see if they offered the service I wanted which was to put a jewelry in my nose. I walked in and was not acknowledged. The guy just sat there and didn’t say anything to me .. till I walked up and spoke to him . He was quite rude and was like “you will have to wait till the guy who does the piercing come out” so I sat there waiting, he came out and acted like I didn’t call and tell him what I wanted. He told me to go into the room and the room was not setup , then he was like stand up which is weird because piercing are done either sitting or lying ... anyways he starts spray something on my face without telling me till I asked. SMH I ONLY WENT HERE CUZ IT WAS CLOSE TO THE NAIL SALON LOL.. I would not recommend anyone go here. Customer service sucks x 1,000

pierced my friend and then told us the jewelry wasn't big enough. she left with a hole in her stomach and no jewellery. made her cry. they did the same to me, didn't have the jewellery. don't recommend for piercings

Walk in service was great; clean positive atmosphere. Work was exceptional and healed well. Artist worked well with the design I wanted ensured he answered any questions I had. This is tattoo #5 and my first time using a different studio. Definitely worth the consideration, if you’re seeking a tattoo

What a hack job of a piercer tbh. I got my cheeks pierced here recently and it was so unsanitary. The piercer didn’t change their gloves once although they were touching I think lube lol, the drawers on their cart and other materials. Also didn’t get me to mouthwash before the piercing. I’ve since had to remove my piercings because of swelling although I changed from the initial bars to the tongue rings (?!) she gave me but that’s not viable as they clang against my teeth 24/7 just causing more issues. The jewelry is also externally threaded mystery metal. Stay away

I’ve been up in the air on posting this for a while, But it was one of my worst tattoo experiences My tattoo is completely crooked when I stand up because the artist didn’t even put on the stencil while I was standing they did it while I was lying down. It was also straight up just a bad experience because my tattoo artist took a break after not even tattooing for a full hour. To charge a crazy amount, for black and shading Well not even tattooing for a full two hours. All it was just a really bad experience. I do not recommend south coast tattoo

It’s actually a shame that all these bad reviews are people that don’t understand that these men work hard in here and don’t stop working & sometimes can’t help people right away because they’re in the middle of a tattoo. This place is SUPER friendly, SUPER clean and my tattoo looks EFFING awesome. I recommend you people not listen to these 1 star losers who are nothing but entitled princes and princesses that would want to speak to a manager to complain ANY day. Lol Rudy did my tattoo, and he’s going to do the rest of them till I die because it is SIIIIIIICK, and he plays awesome music while doing it and makes sure your comfortable at all times and makes you feel confident. The other artists are also super talented. I WOULD GIVE 10/10!!!!

My experience at South City was great to say the least! First time I came in I was greeted by Martin ( who ended up being my tattoo artist) and he was chill af.He made the whole experience comfortable for myself and very easy going.After searching the whole of Hamilton,this was a great pick.Martin tattooed me today and we talked as friends and he was cracking jokes.The vibes were great.I would highly recommend this place.I will be returning.

Not recommended at all! Went in for two piercings, place was just full blown weed smelling but I stayed because everything seemed clean. Was made fun of for saying "please". Wasn't offered any after care instructions or suggested products. Still struggling with them healing over a year later

We googled their location and had seeked other places. This one was our place we were able to walk in and get what we needed done. Piercing done and in under 10 mins ("Ouch" she said) They provided and safe clean environment and even provided the information needed to ensure proper care of their work. Most definitely highly recommend their services to others as many places are always over booked and they advised us just to pop in and they would be willing to accommodate our needs. Now that is great service and even came with a smile too.

Arranged for my daughter to get her first tattoo here as a 19th birthdaygift. (Jurassic Park T-rex she's loved since she was 2 lol) She had her ink done by Rudy, he was recommended to me, and it turned out incredible! She said right from the start she was comfortable and her piece only took a couple hours. We will definitely be going here for all of our work for sure :-)

Not sure how he has such good reviews, went there for a majority of my tattoos and most of them were done pretty horribly. Overcharged me for all of them as well as it states on the website it is $100 for an hour yet I ended up paying over $150 for most of them and none of them took more than 20 minutes to do.

I walked in today to look into quotes for a tattoo and some advise and ideas... well.. first of all I stood there waiting at the front for a while and no one showed up. It was open. Then I called out... no response. I walked around to see if anyone was there and found some dude sleeping on the couch in the back so I woke him up "hello" (he didn't wake until I banged on the wall) he woke up dumbfounded so I walked and waited back at the front.. waited... and then oh my goodness I literally had to call the store number. He picked up and said "hello" and I was like "are you kidding me I'm standing at the front of the store" "oh" he says... he then walked slowly over slumped on the chair and gave me terrible customer service. I picked up my things and was like forget it I'll go somewhere better, somewhere someone is actually is professional and makes me feel comfortable because god forbid I allow that guy to put something permanent on my body. Screw it. What a sad waste of time.

Martin is the best artist there. He is probably one of the best artists in Hamilton. I went to his for my second and third tattoo. My first tattoo was from sinkin ink and I hate it. My tattoos from Southcoast have yet to be touched up and are perfect. My tattoo from sinkin ink has been touched up and it sucks and is dull.

i had some low class artist named Ruby or whatever his name is. this man made me wait on my OWN appointment 1 hour late. took 3 hours to finish a fine line tattoo. took 20 "smoke breaks" like he would literally do a line then take a break?? is he okay & he stinks and unsanitary, he literally doesn't wear gloves while pressing on my skin. I asked him to wear gloves he said "it helps him focus without gloves" what.. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

My husband and I just waited over 10 minutes in the lobby with no acknowledgment whatsoever. They were open, working on a tattoo in another room. We would have waited , however to be completely ignored, scared us. No attention to those in your store?? What type of attention would we have received as a customer?

just gonna save you the pain and disappointment.. don’t go here for piercings. my septum was incorrectly placed (far off from the sweet spot) and incredibly painful. i had high hopes but came out disappointed and feel ripped off. but what can you expect at the moment. the good/reputable piercers will not pierce under the mask right now.

I walked in there with a flat back nose piercing stuck in my nose, the lady’s there took me in right away, they were very nice people, and supportive with my situation. They tried their best to help me out, but I ended up having to get it surgically removed. I originally got my piercing at steel and ink in limeridge.

Do not come here. I called ahead and they said to come in. When I got there, they said to wait 10 minutes. 10 minutes became 40 min. It smelled like weed and cigarettes. All I wanted was lobe piercings and my cartilage done. He was very rough while handling me, pushed me down and told me to “shut up and sit down” and than aggressively swung the chair while I was in it. He kept leaving the room for 5-10min at a time. Didn’t give me any advice on how to clean it. They also don’t sell any aftercare products. And my ears got infected because he used long rods on my ears which you’re not supposed to pierce with. They have a very bad reputation in Hamilton, and I now understand why.

What an amazing place!! I called about an hour to close and was told I could come in past hours to get what I wanted done! When I arrived it was so clean, in fact an employee was spraying down the waiting room chairs with bleach when I walked in! Rudy was my tattoo artist. He was amazing! So welcoming and understanding! He was super patient with me and was in no rush even though I was the last appointment of the day. He took his time and was very gentle. He did exactly what I wanted and it turned out amazing! And the prices are so reasonable!! I highly recommend this shop and I will be going again in the future!

Incredibly unprofessional and unnecessarily expensive. Called in to see the availability for getting my ears pierced. I was assured if I came in the next hour, it would be fine. No problem. I get there, wait 20 minutes in a dead waiting room. No other patrons there. Then I get told to come back tomorrow. Waste of time. Horrible service. Won't be coming back "tomorrow".

My daughter had her eyebrow pierced by Cait. My daughters eyebrow continued to swell due to Cait using the wrong gauge of jewelry. Instead of 16g she used a 14g bellybutton barbell. Although she has admitted her mistake almost 2 weeks later, we had to hound her on Instagram as she continued to make her own posts. The situation has now been rectified, however she definitely isn't a professional and we will NEVER attend this shop again. Nor we will EVER recommend or refer anyone to use this piercer!

Got my forearm tattoo last year at this place. I loved every second of my experience. They are pretty cool and chill and the place is very clean!!! I drive from Mississauga to get my tats there. Would recommend to anyone!!! I read the reviews here and saw that 95% of the 1 star reviews are from women. The ladies are being way too sensitive. Why would you get piercings done when your friend had to leave without jewelry. Why would you get several tattoos from them and complain all the tattoos are crappy. Call me crazy but if get one bad tattoo why would you go back for more??? Again people have nothing else better to do. This place is amazing the owner gave me a tank top for my first tattoo there (I have 9 tats in total) I will be getting more from here I recommend 2000%
