Got my first helix piercing here. The receptionist (don't know her name) was very nice. You can get a piercing at 16 (not genital) here but remember to bring your ID. They checked for mine, which was good because that is what a professional shop would do. They are cash only and their prices are higher than some other nearby shops, but you pay for the good quality. Beth was very professional and calming. It is very clean. She opened the new needle in front of me, and changed gloves whenever her lands left the sterile field. They were clear with aftercare instructions and my first cartilage piercing is healing nicely without any worry of infection. I recommend this place, and will go back if I ever want another piercing.

After checking a few different tattoo studios around Ottawa, I wasn't really making any progress in finding an artist I felt good and excited to work with. I decided to walk in and check out Silver Line Tattoo, despite the lack of online presence they have. I looked through the portfolios and really liked what James Knight had in his. I set up a consultation with him for my tattoo. Coming to the Consulation, also it being my first tattoo, I wasn't sure what to expect and was quite nervous. Everyone from the staff at the front to James made me feel incredibly comfortable, listened to me, and took the time to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I found out James Knight's portfolio doesn't do him justice, as he does so many custom pieces that he won't put in the portfolio that are absolutely incredible! He is truly one of the best artists I have come across in my extensive tattoo search in Ottawa. Despite my design being fairly simple and nothing custom, he was still happy and excited to design it up for me. After getting the tattoo, I can only reinforce my amazing experience with Silver Line and James Knight. He is an amazing artist and gave me a great tattoo. I was very worried and nervous approaching my first tattoo but was put at ease and found a great artist to portray my ideas onto my skin. Silver line definitely could use a better online presence but they are 100% worth a visit to their shop to meet the staff and look through the portfolios!

I highly recommend this place for piercings. I've gotten my rook, helix, and neck piercing (surface bar) there, and the experience was great. They were really friendly, told me not to worry, and took time to tell me exactly how to clean my piercing. Very knowledgeable and reassuring. The waiting times weren't long, either - they told me how long it was going to be, when the piercer was setting up, and never forgot about me! (like many places do, ugh) Overall, it was great, and I plan on returning there for more piercings.

I’ve had my first tattoo done here by James and got my nipples pierced two years after by Beth! I came back because I enjoyed the professionalism, cleanliness, the staff and the experience my first time around. I had a lot of other friends who had also had their work done here. I just walked in to Silverline (for a spur of the moment tattoo) after not feeling welcome at some other locations downtown. James took me as his client and was very funny and had me distracted the whole entirety of my tattoo, you can tell he really enjoys people and what he does. My original concept I had came in with for my first tattoo was altered after he got to know me and my likes/dislikes, and I loved the result! My second visit to get my nipples pierced was with Beth, I was pretty nervous as I wasn’t even sure if they could be pierced because of their inverted-ness. Beth didn’t even look the slightest bit doubtful, the subject was never even brought up! You could tell she does this all the time and just went in there and pierced them no problem. She’s very easy to talk to, kind and trusting. If ever i’m in need for another tattoo or piercing there’s no doubt in my mind I wouldn’t come back!

I have really sensitive skin and I’ve had 2 terrible experiences (other piercing shops) with piercing my nose and both ended in infections. However, this piercing healed nicely and rather quickly. Having a consultation with James and being told that my idea was stupid and that he is better than anything with an infinity symbol and then trying to justify him bashing my idea with a "well it wouldnt work anyway". The whole interaction was rude and unnecessary. They get two stars only because the receptionist was nice and i dont know if it was just him being a jackass or if the whole studio thinks they are above their possible clientele's ideas.

I have gotten all of my piercings here (except first lobes which I had done when I was a few months old) and I have had absolutely no issues. I had my industrial and second lobes done at the same time by Jenn, and she was awesome!! Then a few weeks later I had my rook done by Beth, and again, was awesome!! Two weeks after that, I had my double helix done. After a couple months, I went back for my tragus and daith, and I'm as happy as ever!! Within days of each piercing, I was sleeping on them as if they weren't even there! I wouldn't even wake up sore. I have had no infections (despite my habit of touching the piercings...), like I'm still amazed at how well they've been healing! The place itself is very clean, and both Beth and Jenn will walk you through the process of your piercings and show you the sterilization process as well! Not to mention how friendly everyone there is! All staff is so warm and absolutely hilarious!! I have recommended this place to absolutely everyone I know, and have taken family members and friends to get their piercings done here! I would never go anywhere else!

After reading online reviews I decided to go to Beth at Silverline. Overall I was very happy as she was friendly, professional and competent. As I was getting only my earlobes pierced, I think it was fairly straightforward as piercings go. My only (minor) issue was that when I arrived, they didn't have any new titanium earrings available which was a surprise since I'd called ahead of time to check if they had them available and that had been one of my deciding factors between Silverline and other tattoo shops. The guy at the front then proceeded to try to convince me that surgical steel was just as good. Given I had a family history of pretty severe Nickel allergies I didn't want to take the chance. After waiting 10 min or so for Beth to become available and to check the backroom, I found out they were able to find some titanium posts available. Beyond that minor issue, everything else went very smoothly. Beth made an obvious point to show me everything (including the trays of sterilized equipment) and explain the full procedure. I personally didn't find the experience that painful, and it was very quick. End result was as perfect as I could expect and I've had little pain or issues healing. Obviously going to a professional piercer is going to be more expensive than a mall store ($70 for both lobes, + $15 for the titanium upgrade + tax) BUT at the end of the day, should you really be cheaping out when it comes to getting someone to stick holes in you? All in all, I was very happy and would recommend this shop to anyone!

Went here to get a tiny tattoo done for a walk in. Didn’t have a choice of who I got as an artist, but James was available so I got him. I got a quarter sized zodiac symbol on my wrist. It is the most basic tattoo and simple lines but he some how managed to completely screw it up, I wouldn’t go to him for bigger work either. Not only is the tattoo the worst tattoo I have ever seen, James was rude and obnoxious and spent the whole time bragging about how he had been tattooing longer than anyone in the city. He bad mouthed countless tattoo artist in Ottawa who all happen to be 10000 times better than him at their jobs. He made my friend and I feel uncomfortable from his attitude. It took him almost two hours to do four lines on my wrist and it was way too over priced for something so horrible.

By far the worst experience ever. I called two days prior to see a specific artist to see if he can do matching tattoo for my mother, sister and I. I was told they couldn't take appointments over the phone. The day of the tattoo I was told he can't fit us in for another 3 hours. Waste of time when I was told not to make an appointment in the first place. We finally get in and finalize the look of the tattoo and placement and the tattoo design was nothing remotely close to what had be shown to James. I was recommended to him by girlfriend who swears by him. He didn't listen to what I had wanted with my design, how I wanted things done, and what colour to go where. The entire tattoo was butched. Lines were jagged, flower does not look anything remotely close to a flower it was completely off. Never in my experience of getting tattoos were ever like this. Price was overpriced for something as small as a quarter size. Never again will I come back and do not recommend James. He was shaking so much during the whole proccess it seemed like he had 10 cups of coffee. And just had the shakes from it.

LOVE this place. I had to get a piece of jewellery switched out today and everyone here made it a super smooth process. Beth was very knowledgable and patient with all of my questions. Also, the receptionist was kind enough to match the stone on my new nose stud to my old one. Definitely recommend this place and Beth for any piercing!

Spent a couple of hours here recently getting a very sentimental tattoo with my siblings, and we were all impressed from the customer service to the tattoo itself. Nimco at the front was extremely friendly, and helpful, and our tattoo artist Nate was so genuine, and talented. I highly recommend this shop, and Nate especially. We will be back!

Wasn’t impressed with the miss communication. Was told the artist loved the idea I sent, later to get a confirmation call to change my time knowing I wasn’t from the city and I was flying in for an emergency family visit and having the artist call me but have the receptionist call not knowing how to deal with the situation, then call me the day before the tattoo to reschedule it again for Friday when again they knew I was only here for the couple days.. not only that there was no apologies for the trouble and took 24hours to get my deposit back. I just felt like the artist didn’t want to work with me after saying she loved the idea.. would not recommend or come back.. smh

Jen the peircer is a miserable human. My family was waiting while I was getting my tattoo covered as I had just finished and my new born son was getting fussy due to him teething . The shop was full of customers and she become irate and yelled "Will somebody shut that thing up!!!" In front of her client but loud enough for the entire shop to herar. She has no self control and lacks the kind of respect one would expect to receive in a professional atmosphere. Tattoo artist and peircers thrive on the cleanliness of they're shop and have to follow strict regulations in order to keep the shop open. But for some reason peircer Jen feels she is above all that and walks her ugly dog in and out of the shop as though the lived there. I don't imagine that's to sanitary. Other than that silverline tattoos is the only place I go. Nate and James are on point with what they do.

I've had two piercings done here. One by Beth and one by Jen, both on the nose. They were both super nice and made sure to explain every step beforehand. I saw them use all sanitized and new equipment along with hand sanitizer and latex gloves. I highly recommend going here for piercings. I've also gone back to get my rings/studs changed and they were just as friendly and helpful as when I first got my piercings done.

My Sister and I were in your shop today to get matching Sister tattoo's done. This was my third tattoo and my Sister's first tattoo. Nate was very sensitive to the fact that my Sister was very nervous about getting her first tattoo and talked her through the entire process and put her at ease. I walked-in a few days ago to have a tattoo done. Overall great experience; the artist OJ was really patient and we spent a lot of time choosing the design (I actually had words tattooed and we spent about 45min deciding on the font!). He was very honest and always gave me his opinion when I was asking for things he didn't like, explaining why he didn't like it which was helpful. I felt comfortable with him, the "tattooing" part went well, didn't hurt and was quick. My tattoo hasn't completely healed yet but it's looking good! I recommend this tattoo studio a hundred times!

Beth is my favorite piercer. Now I won't go anywhere else to get a piercing except for silver line. It is a little expensive compared to other places but she just does such a great job that I don't mind spending more because I know it will turn out great.
