Becky is incredible. The tattoo she gave me is my favourite of mine. It healed beautifully and needed no touchups even though there was a lot of solid black. Her way of handling my nerves was expert. I received thorough written instructions regarding aftercare. There's nobody else I would go to for a top quality piece of tattoo art that will last a lifetime.

Its a great place to get some tattoos done. Their's close to 25 years of experience between Jason and Lance. They are very professionals and they are very good. Usually its Jason that does my tattoos(4) but today was Lance that did my tattoo. I wasn't disapointed as usual. I recommend 100% this tattoo salon and its not because Jason is my buddy. Its because their is alot of talent in that tattoo shop. Keep on the good work guys.

My teen daughter got her ears pierced by Sarah, she was awesome! 1 week, no infections, ears doing great. One negative is some employees swearing loudly and complaining about non cleanly ex employees.

I got my nose pierced here by Jen and she was very patient and gentle with me. Very clean, everything in packages and single use. doesnt stick out at all and never got an infection. Highly reccomend her. Shes so nice too which is good as i was super nervous . I can tell this is a passion of hers. Will only return here for any future piercings

I went there and saw the piercer Jeanvieve to get my nipples pierced. She sat me down in her chair and knew I was nervous. She was very calming and took everything slow with me. She drew the dots on and made sure I was 100% happy with them. She laid me down and did both piercings giving me as much time as I needed between both. Painful but VERY good experience I would highly recommend her. She even gave me her contact info in case I had any questions afterwards and offered to change my piercing when the time was right. I've had my piercings for maybe 6 months now? No issues she even pierced my boyfriend! Look no further than jeanvieve, I'm getting all my piercings through her and I'm looking at getting tattoos from her co workers! :)

Back in August 2017 I went to this other piercing and tattoo parlor to get two anti-helix's done, also known as forward helix's. The piercer was rushed and did not take the time to tend to my needs and concerns. So anyways I will get back to that topic. Later on in September 2017, I went to Black Pearl for a conch piercing with my friend (who got her helix). OMG what a difference in service. Their piercer Jen did an AMAZING job. Very clean, professional, sterile environment, answered any concerns we had, took her time, made sure we were ready, gave me her email for any questions during the healing time, very sweet and payed attention to detail to ensure the piercing was done correctly. 6 months later my conch is fully healed and feels great with no issues during the healing period, whereas my anti-helix's are still healing and tender at times. I thus will never go back to the original piercer. I will always stick with Jen. I also went back to Jen for the second lobe piercing and same thing, amazing service, great healing time and the piercings look wonderful! GO TO JEN SHE'S AMAZINGGGG.

I saw JeanVieve in September 2018 for nipple piercings. After a bad experience and growing out nipple jewelry years ago, I had more or less given up hope on getting re-pierced again. After seeing positive reviews on JeanVieve at Black Pearl Salon, I took a leap and did not regret it: she is as professional as they come and asked all the right questions to make sure the right jewelry (style, length and gauge) and right placement would ensure the piercing would work. Her aftercare instructions were also bang on. As a result, it has been about two months and everything has been perfect so far. If you seek to be pierced in Ottawa, definitely give JeanVieve a call.

The line work in my tattoo is awful, not straight at all and the piercer also did my daughter's helix crooked with too short of a bar. We had to go somewhere else to get a better quality earring. Also there was 2 coffee cups on the shelf that my tattoo was done on, not clean. I wouldn't reccomend going here, many other places to choose from

Very impressed with J, the one who does piercings! She was so thorough, great with infection control and making everything sterile and provided me and my friend with pretty extensive after care for our piercings. She even took extra time to find her last moon gold plate earring for me since she could tell that was the one I really liked. It’s been a week since the piercing and the piercing site seems to have quickly healed, not too much inflammation or discomfort afterwards. Would definitely recommend! Thanks J for a great experience :)

Been there 2 times. First time was a very good job on my tattoo but next time a disaster :( My drawing is very poor. Was supposed to look like the first picture ( my husband ) but the result is the second picture ???? Nothing to do the healing process, the drawing is bad.

Of the tattoos I have (and I have several), my tattoo from Becky at Black Pearl is my least favourite. The experience was just okay...I felt like Becky was tolerating my presence more than anything else, even though I tipped well and was having a design that she drew tattooed. I think she's a lovely artist, but I'm just not thrilled with my tattoo. I, and others I showed my tattoo to, knew the day I got it that I was going to need a touch-up. I wonder if this is because it seemed like she rushed through the colouring of my tattoo? It ended up looking patchy. Also, I didn't receive any printed after-care instructions, which I have always received in the past. It shouldn't matter if a client has prior ink, it may have been a while. I give my experience a solid three stars.
