My boyfriend and I got small tattoos there in November, with a great artist. My boyfriend has his full arm done which he did at tattoo people. Price is on the high range but the quality was great with our first artist, really took the time with our stencils.. As we went last week for touch ups, they told us our artist was no longer working there, they wanted to make us pay for the touch ups (which are included in the price of the tattoos). We had to argue with them and they eventually agreed on having touch ups done by another artist since our tattoos were just single lines. Touch ups went wrong : the other artist RUINED our tattoos with his touch-ups, making them look completely different and HE DIDN’T EVEN CLEAN OUR SKIN BEFORE TATTOOING US ! My boyfriend spent thousands in this shop for his full arm and trusted tattoo people.. We are so so disappointed and think about getting cover ups :(

I am extremely happy with my recent experience at Tattoo People. After months of thinking and waiting, I was excited to see that Hailey was going to be available again. I had been following her along with a couple other artists and knew she would be the one I wanted to work with for my first tattoo. Our consultation was quick and she took note of what I wanted and had me send her a couple of reference photos. The sketch she created was perfect and I knew that it was finally time. The front desk staff were very friendly and the space is very clean and welcoming. On the big day, Hailey reassured me I would be ok (I was excited but a bit nervous!) and I loved the end result. I would highly recommend Tattoo People (have been raving about it to my friends); I love their variety of artist’s styles as seen on their Instagram page. If I decide to get inked again, I will absolutely come back!

Such a beautiful studio! The space is large and open, allowing for the natural light to pour through the large front windows. I called the studio as soon as they opened for a same day walk in appointment, and the kind girl at the desk gave me an appointment within the hour. My small tattoo was done by Backggang, and it was a great experience. I came back a couple of months later for a (complimentary) touch up on my tattoo. I’ll be coming back here for future tattoos for sure!!

Tattoo people is full of wonderful people! The minimalistic yet cozy vibe makes it one of the most relaxing places to get a tattoo. I seriously had never been so comfortable getting one before. It was also very easy to get to from Bathurst station. My artist Hailey is incredible. She's is so creative and amazing! The artists and staff at Tattoo People are awesome. I've had great experiences each time I go in (both as a client and as a supporter of someone getting work done). I've gotten two tattoos done at Tattoo People, one done by Niki S. who is one of the in house/ local artist and the other by Ankko who was a guest artist from Korea. I would highly recommend stalking their instagram feed (@tattoopeopletoronto) and also each artists personal feed to get a general idea of what their styles are like. Who ever you choose I'm sure you'll end up with a tattoo you'll love!

Got my first tattoo from Cole today and I'm very happy with the tattoo. Some girls getting tattoos in tattoo place were actually a bit envious when they saw the finished piece on me. Very clean and sanitary place. Cole was really nice, good humoured and had very steady hands and a good eye for design and details. I loved his work and it really didn't hurt much at all. Hello, updating my review as I wasn't able to leave a comment. I highly recommend Tattoo People, all staff at the shop are highly talented. As it says on the website for G.No its a long wait to get in with her but its truly is worth every year..days..months that you have to wait to finally get in. I waited over three years and I cant express how happy I was to finally get in with her. The consult was more then I expected, as in she took the time to wrap my arm with plastic to outline where I want the tattoo to get an actual size for the tattoo idea I had. Then we sat down and talk about what I wanted and shown her images of my ideas and she told me her thoughts. A week before my tattoo appt I changed my idea because I saw her post a new piece she done recently and I liked how she did the shading. I emailed them and they had no problem with my slight change of my tattoo idea. I couldn't be anymore happy about my tattoo and experience at TP. They are very professional and very clean shop. They make sure you are comfortable throughout the time you are there. I recommend this shop to all my friends and family. Its such a great respectful tattoo shop. The only down side was the parking. If you are going during the week and you are planning to be there past 4pm make sure to park not on Bathurst as there is no parking allowed on the street for rush hour 4 to 6. luckily I didn't get towed on the residential street, so for me it worked out just fine. Just give yourself time to look for parking.

I worked with Niki on a custom piece that featured my cats. She incorporated all the elements that I had in mind, but also made sure that the design would work well overall. This is my third tattoo and my absolute favourite. I can't see myself going anywhere else now. All of the tattoo artists are so talented, I went after three of my friends had gone here for other artists and all of their tattoos turned out awesome and exactly how they wanted. After sending in my idea through their online submission form I was matched with GNO. It was a little bit of a wait to hear back, but the whole process was no longer than any other tattoo shop, and there were no long wait times to get either a consultation or an actual appointment. GNO was true to what I wanted, but frankly I like her design way more than my original reference picture. For such a small and simple piece, it is so detailed and so beautifully coloured. She was worth every penny.

Came by to complete a custom piece on my shoulder that took a lot of tweaking. My artist was very patient, especially when I had to change the placement. This piece took 2 weeks for the artist to draw up and they got me in asap, being I had to leave to go abroad which I super appreciate. The artist was extremely gentle and light handed- my least painful tattoo ever. Overall, super pleased, would recommend you and might come by to get more of my tattoo coloured. Ambiance is clean, quiet, relaxed, non judgemental. I would def come back :D

My experience at Tattoo People was not all around terrible however my experience with the artist herself pretty much was. I’m not even sure of her name as she never gave it. I had called ahead and come in as a walk in as I was just hoping for a couple simple tattoos. The artist seemed irritated with me from the start and it went down hill from there. She didn’t seem able or willing to answer any of my questions and/or would give contradictory answers if I asked for clarification. She further would not give any input/professional recommendation even when asked and did not seem to understand my own input/requests (i.e., I would say ‘can it be just a little bit smaller’ and she would make it about 1cm smaller on a tattoo that was less than 2.5” to start). Even unprofessional little things occurred such as being sprayed in the eyes with the alcohol spray used to clean the area of skin because she did not take any care in properly directing the spray. When we finally got to placement of the tattoos, it took us two tries for one of them and the other one I first thought was ok (and felt pressured to just say it was ok) but finally did get up the nerve to say that I felt it was not quite centred on my arm and asked if it could be moved over just the tiniest bit (I am also pretty small to start so it does take more precision to get things placed correctly). She seemed really frustrated at this point and I’m honestly not sure if she purposely botched her second attempt because it ended up evidently off centre to the other side of my arm and on an angle. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with this placement and tried to explain again what I had been hoping for, she let her frustration out and told me she could not “do this”. I left without getting the tattoos which was probably for the best as I am not confident they would have been well done. She did not seem to take pride in her work nor even enjoy it and overall did not embody any of the values of a quality artist. Other artists at the shop may be fine but my experience left me questioning the competency of the artist I had been paired with and feeling horrible for upsetting her even though I was the client asking her to do her job…

The first tattoo parlour I went to didn't feel welcoming at all, which made me more nervous than I already was. Excellent customer service! I also noticed that the quality of their ink is very good, just in comparison with my other tattoo. Also, the price of my tattoo was very reasonable. It's been about 3 weeks now and my tattoo is healed. I'm absolutely in love with it and will definitely be going back to get another tattoo done by Jess or anyone who's available!

Got a tattoo of soot sprites from the movie Spirited Away by Niki (@nikisugaa). She did amazing work. The linework and the way she made the sprites actually look fuzzy is perfect. Both her and all the staff I interacted with were very kind and professional, and the place has a very cheerful atmosphere. I highly recommend both the shop and Niki to people looking to get a tattoo. In terms of parking, the place doesn't have its own lot but both times I drove there, there was street parking available on Dupont. Also for the deposit you leave after your consultation it's cash only. If you don't have enough on you there's a gas station a short walk away with an atm.

Was a little surprised at the cost though...hands down the most I’ve ever paid for a tattoo this size. Kinda shocked when I’d heard the price for a sitting that was less than two hours. I've gotten two tattoos done at Tattoo People so far, one done by Niki S. who is one of the in house/local artist and the other by Ankko who was a guest artist from Korea. I would highly recommend stalking their instagram feed (@tattoopeopletoronto) and also each artists personal feed to get a general idea of what their styles are like. I've gotten one medium sized tattoo here by Niki, and I can't love it even more. It's amazing and her technique is so good even though she claims she's a Junior. I started peeling on the 3rd day and that normally doesn't happen until day 6+, meaning I'm healing correctly and the colour is still PACKED. Would come back and explore the other artists style! Very kind customer service as well at the receptionist desk. Made me feel very welcome and safe! Thanks again!

Went to Tattoo People the other day for my first tattoo and it was an amazing experience! The vibe is very chill and friendly- lots of smiles going around the shop and my tattooist- Yusun, was amazing. Prior to my tattoo, about a month or so ago, she had me come in for a consultation and then proceeded to give me a rough sketch. The outcome was beautiful and I had no complaints or adjustments needed. Day of the tattoo, she had talked me through the whole process and after-care, she also made sure I was comfortable. The price is very decent, and there's a deposit of $50 when you schedule an appointment. After my appointment, I was also told that I would be allowed to get a free touchup. I will most definitely be coming back in the future for more tattoos to be done by the crew! Thank you for making my first tattoo experience amazing!

I am giving two stars without receiving service strictly on how dissapointed I was with the booking process. I initially emailed the shop stating I would be in Toronto on a medical trip for a few days months in advance - I wanted to be tattooed by Hailey and my sister also wanted to get tattooed at the same time with another artist. I finally received a date by them for my tattoo and confirmed twice that my tattoo was booked, once through email and once through the phone. After some time I didn’t hear anything about my sisters tattoo so I called once again a few weeks before the trip to see if there was an update. I booked the tickets and stayed an extra day specifically for the tattoo - while speaking with the receptionist she told me that Hailey was completely booked on the day I was supposed to get the tattoo, I asked if one was my appointment and she said no. I was shocked and extremely sad as I only come to Toronto once a year for medical appointments and told her that I guess I will try again in a year. So now I am going to be in Toronto an extra day for nothing. Hopefully next year will be different.

I've been here for 4 tattoos now from 3 different artists (Ellen, Niki and a visiting artist from S. Korea) and I've loved each one of the tattoos I've gotten. This shop has great tattoo artists who excel in various styles of art from traditional/neo traditional to watercolor, and sharp line work. They often have visiting artists who display unique styles of art as well. Although it's a smaller shop, I can see it growing and expanding in the future as it has a lot to offer in the tattoo world in the GTA. Their workmanship and excellent quality stand out from the many shops located in Toronto and I look forward to seeing them grow and flourish. The shop is clean and in a city where there are many tattoo shops, Tattoo People definitely stand out for me and are a top choice when getting new pieces done.

The receptionists gave me an initial cost before I got my tattoo and when I went to pay they said they made a mistake and I had to pay more than what they initially told me. The one thing I absolutely love about this place is that every artist has incredibly different styles but they are all very talented at what they do. Their flashes are beautiful and they are great at custom work as well. Both of my tattoos were custom. They had no problem making modifications on my art pieces and all the after care info is on their website or you can call in with any questions. Having seen and really liked Nikisuga's tattoo styles on Instagram, I was happy to learn she was in Toronto at Tattoo People. Their location is very clean (they have since moved to a bigger location), professional and sanitary. I had an appointment with Nikisuga, but I know they sometimes accept walk-ins. Follow them on Instagram, they post frequently! It was my first tattoo and while I was expecting it to hurt a lot, it only felt like being poked by a sharp pencil. So painful, but not that bad. I'll be coming back here for sure, I have a few more tattoo ideas!

My experience here was better than I could’ve asked for. The artist who did my tattoo was Niki. It was my first tattoo so I did some heavy research and their website captured my eye the most. They offer a clean and minimal layout that shows you exactly what each one of their artist has to offer, and a handy FAQ section! Despite being able to clearly and easily browse through the site and each artists’ Instagram to see their style and finished pieces, I still didn’t know which artist would match the art work I was tying to envision. In lieu of that, I decided to go into their store and had a lovely chat with the co-owner. She was able to take a look and help me decide on a specific artist that would be perfect for the design and I booked a consultation with Niki. Mind you, I didn’t exactly know what I wanted but I did bring along several reference images to show during my consultation appointment. Niki, just like the co-owner, was understanding of what I wanted even when I didn’t know myself, so it was a very reassuring consultation. She was quick and very much to the point, which I personally like as it showed a great deal of professionalism. Along with that, she was good with communicating to me about any troubles with the design process and I appreciated the effort she took in doing so, because the design came out looking exactly like what I could never have pictured with my own imagination but was desperately trying to(if that makes sense), and it was absolutely perfect. For an upper arm piece, which is about maybe 24cm long, it took quicker than I expected it to but I am happy it did. I have a pretty low tolerance to pain, but she worked fast and attentively to finish the piece with all the lines, details, and colors done to perfection. The end result was spectacular!! I am more than pleased with my decisiom to have my first tattoo experience with tattoo people. I highly recommend Niki if you’re looking for a unique style and an eye for design and what the client wants that you can’t get anywhere else. I say this for all the artist’s at the shop as well. The shop is very clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and the you are definitely paying exactly the price for what you want to get. Just browse through the site and give them a call! You won’t be disappointed. Will definitely be going back in the near future.

Two of us were a walk-in appointment. We called ahead gave them our info. When we arrived at the shop in the same day, the receptionist was kind and helpful. We talked to the artists and confirmed the artwork, area and measurements. One of us went in right way and was done in 30mins, while I had to wait an hour and a half. The results were totally worth the wait. It took a few tries for the transfer to apply correctly. Where as, some places don't care enough to try to get it right. By far the best tattoo shop I've been in. They're friendly, the environment is welcoming and their sterilization procedures are next level (watching them set up is an art in itself, which is not always the case in other shops). I recieved my tattoo from G.No and I couldn't be happier! I can not imagine anyone else having done this piece. Overall, I travel about 2 1/2 hours to get to this location and I would do it over and over again. There's no other tattoo shop or artist I would trust working on the rest of my pieces. After doing my research and shopping around, Tattoo People fit the bill and I got my first tattoos from Kelly. If you're interested in line work and detail, Kelly is the perfect artist for you. If you're indecisive with a hundred and one questions like me, Kelly is extremely helpful and easy to talk to. Not knowing much about tattoo art (or art in general), I didn't really have anything aside from a particular concept which Kelly was able to bring to life especially by telling me about options that I didn't even know I had, and I have nothing but good things to say about her and her work. The shop itself is very chic, clean and cozy with a warm atmosphere. They are easily accessible/easy to communicate with, and are very accommodating. For grad, uni. or college students like myself, their prices are also very affordable. The shop has a wealth of artists with different styles and skills to offer, and it doesn't take much to realize that tattooing is more than just their line of work. Went here before for my last tattoo. Was very happy so wanted to return for my next. When I went to schedule an appointment, after giving multiple dates the suited, the receptionist told me she could not schedule me for an appointment for the foreseeable future. Obviously very confused so I asked why and after stuttering and hesitating she said no artist would do what I wanted. Which was a medium sized outline of Toronto skyline. She was extremely rude to me and very unhelpful. I would highly recommend people to go elsewhere and spend there money at a business were they don't pick and choose there clientele but are happy to help any customer that walks through the door!

I would recommend going into the shop to book a consultation or appointment, if you can, just to make the process faster/easier. Also the deposit must be made in cash which I didn't know at the time! The day of my appointment the process was quick and easy. I wanted to make some small changes and Yusun was very patient and receptive to what I wanted. Warning: DO NOT COME HERE. I previously had 2 tattoos done by Niki, which looked great (she’s no longer at this shop). I came back to get a tree tattoo with 2 hearts under it as a memorial tattoo behind my arm for my dog who passed away last year. I met with Hailey, and that’s when my nightmare began. She was very dismissive and unattentive during the consultation. However, when she sent me the sketch, it looked fine (picture posted). I was hopeful that the tattoo would look nice. During the tattoo-ing process, I voiced my concerns about the tree being too big. Not once during the 2 hour session did Hailey stop to ask if it looked ok etc. I cried as soon as I saw the tattoo. It looked like a birth mark, burn mark or psoriasis. In no way, shape or form did it resemble the sketch/stencil that was shown to me. The tree was overly circular; not symmetrical and very very poorly done. She coloured in leaves and left no empty space. It was a red blob. I was upset as soon as I saw the tattoo. I immediately reported my concerns to Hailey and the store owner. Hailey was very rude and disrespectful. Ive never experienced such poor customer service. I sat down with the owner (Khan), who was understanding. He sat down with me and during our discussion, he advised that he was prepared to do whatever was necessary to fix the problem, including, but not limited to laser removal and/or cover-up for the tattoo. He knew his staff messed up and did not charge me for the tattoo. Another staff member was present during the discussions. Among other things, Khan offered to and indicated that he would be prepared to pay out of pocket for the tattoo removal if it is not covered by your insurance. 2 days later, Khan’s wife (Jaclyn) LATER RENEGED ON THEIR PROMISE. Tattoo people advised that I would have to commence a court application in order for them to pay for laser removal. I cannot wear shorts sleeves now as I have a massive red blob on my arm. I will have to go through 2 years of painful tattoo removal in order to get this tattoo off, and at a cost of over $3000. Save yourself the headache and go to another shop. The artist G.No was able to take my several pictures with different elements of each that I wanted and mock up a rendering that was exactly what I had envisioned in my head. There was absolutely no pain, and I'm not sure if this is true, but i read that if your artist is good, there will be no scabs...and so far, there has been no weeping of the wound. Me and my friend got our tattoos done here and it was a great experience! We worked with the artist Hailey Lee and she did an amazing job designing exactly what we wanted. We are so happy with our tattoos, they are very detailed and beautifully done. Hailey is really amazing :) We did however have a bit of trouble getting matched with our artist in the beginning. We sent in the email form from the website, but it we didn't know how to choose an artist since the site didn't say which artist did what work. The artist they matched us with wasn't really suited to what we had in mind, but I was able to find the Tattoo People's Instagram account and figure out the different artists work based on that. Once we picked who we wanted from Instagram, we just called the shop and set up the consultation ourselves rather than going through email again.

Looked at a lot of portfolios and visited several shops but eventually went with Khan (the owner of the shop), who in my opinion does the most distinct Japanese style tattoos in Toronto, very bold with a lot of fine detail.The half-sleeve he completed 2 weeks ago healed perfectly with no loss of colour or uneveness, he did a very skillful job so will be getting my tattoos from him from now on. As well as Khan, from what I've seen of their portfolios the other artists are also very good and cover a range of styles. The shop itself is very clean and everyone is very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend Tattoo People to anyone looking to get tattooed in Toronto, and Khan in particular if you are looking for outstanding Japanese style tattoos.
