My experience at Liquid Amber was nothing short of fantastic. From scheduling and consulting to the actual session and the follow up afterwards, it was great. Asia Rain did an amazing job in consultation and sketching out the vision for my tattoo, the session went great, and she even followed up afterwards to make sure I was healing well. The day of the session went very well. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful, and made everyone feel comfortable in the studio. I had a full day session with Asia, and I wouldn't change a thing. She did a wonderful job, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for an artist in Vancouver.

The staff here are very helpful and polite! Liquid Amber is clean and bright with a lovely atmosphere. I was tattooed here by Aly Brooke who is legitimately one of the nicest, most professional, and impressive artists I've ever worked with. First off she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable, putting up extra dividers when we were tattooing a part of my body that made it so I had to take off my shirt. She was very good at checking in on my pain and comfort level during the entire session. I've been tattooed by Aly multiple times and every time I feel like she really listens to my ideas and does an excellent job of making them come to life in a unique and wonderful way. I am always proud to have Aly's art on my skin!! I would recommend this shop and Aly to everyone, such a good experience to go with amazing tattoos.

Tattooed by Crystal. She is amazing and professional, made me feel very comfortable and listened closely to what I wanted for my tattoo. She is a great artist to boot. The admin staff are equally welcoming and professional, some other tattoo shops I've been to honestly couldn't care less when you walk in the door. The shop was clean and sanitary and they take care to make sure you know how to care for your tattoo. I look forward to going back for another tattoo.

I had a great session yesterday at Liquid Amber. Front desk receptionist was welcoming and helpful with informing me on their COVID19 safety protocols. Milo did my tattoo and it turned out fantastic! You can tell that Milo is passionate about art and tattooing, not to mention full of talent. I couldn't be happier with my first tattoo. Milo put in a lot of effort to show me different sizes and shapes of the design and ensured that it was lined up properly. Fun conversations with the other artists in the room as well. Just finished up my first tattoo with Diana! As soon as I walked in I felt very calm and comfortable. All of the staff members were so kind and not intimidating at all! It was a very refreshing atmosphere and to top it off, my experience with Diana was absolutely amazing! She was very sweet and had designed the perfect tattoo for me! I visited Liquid Amber about a month ago to get a tattoo while I was visiting Vancouver, and I loved every minute of it. It has a very laid-back atmosphere while also staying very professional. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. Milo is not just an awesome artist, but a pretty cool guy to hang out with while getting tattooed. Liquid Amber had been and still is a clean, professional, and simply an enjoyable studio to visit. The artists and team are all lovely welcoming individuals. I was lucky enough to get my first tattoo done here by Lauren and it was the perfect experience. Everyone did a wonderful job making sure I was informed and comfortable during my visit. I loved my experience here and I plan to get work done here again! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cool, clean, and comfortable place to get some body modification done! My only note is that I dont believe it is wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up to the door and a second level accessible by stairs. I did not ask, so if you are unable to use stairs I suggest calling and just double checking!

An amazing shop all the way around!! I’ve gotten a couple tattoos done by milo now and have had a great experience every time! the shop is very professional and quick to respond to any questions or requests and VERY clean. Everyone in the shop is also very friendly, helpful and welcoming, as for milo himself I don’t think I will ever get a tattoo done by another artist, he is EXTREMELY talented and you could not ask for a nicer, easier person to talk to! 10/10 would recommend this tattoo shop to everyone!

As I have gotten older, Ive become less impressed by magic, as I don’t find myself subscribing to it anymore. When the day finally arrived, I was brought back to a place of youth , excitement, and amazement over at Liquid Amber Tattoo. The difference is, there can be ‘actual’ magic in tatooing (though ironically not in magic itself), but only when magic is resident to the hands that perform it. Aly made something that’s inherently difficult look like it was a walk in the park. The conversations we had, the laughs, and the environment that her and the team provided was really above and beyond and I’d invite anyone who’s seeking to get tattooed to check out Aly and the rest of the squad over at their website Thanks again, Aly, for the privilege to have some of your beautiful art on my body. I called the place & asked to book a place! They had informed me to email them details and we would go from there, which was totally fine! I let them know it is time Sensetive since I wouldn't be around long! I had not heard anything for a couple of days, so I called and they said wait 1 more day & you should hear the results! I don't hear from them until 2 days after & they couldn't even do both tattoos I wanted! It was bad service & completely pissed me off! This would never happen in Toronto!!

Beyond frustrated right now. I've had this appointment booked since January ( been on the waiting list since November). I asked for botanical style dogwood flowers, and if Miranda was able to include the border of BC in an estetically pleasing way --if not then the dogwood flowers by themselves. I received an email back saying Miranda was interested in doing this. Three days ago I received an email from Mirandas with a drawing. It was not at all what I wanted ( with weird designs added on the background that were not asked for). I figured it just wouldn't look good with the border design idea so I decided against it. This is where I made a mistake -- I suggested a change that was in a bit of a different direction, and Miranda told me this as Well, saying "that would take an extra 2 hours ". 5 hours aka $900 dollars seemed excessive for a 4inch by 4 inch tattoo. But, I understood where she was coming from so I told her I would go with just flowers. From them onward she seemed to have difficulty understanding what I wanted, and it was coming across as making excuses and complaining, I tried to give her as many sample photos as i could, bult she kept saying none of them where right. Finally it was time for my appointment, and we hadn't settled anything via email. As soon as I went upstairs and she came in I was greeted with rudeness . She eventually told me she needed an EXACT Google image to copy or she couldn't do it. Why wasn't this said via e-mail! I don't want an exact Google image! I suggested maybe layering one image with another on Photoshop. She responded by saying that it was too short notice to do that and that maybe I didn't know what I wanted. I know I'm not a tattoo artist. But the resistance I received just to get three dogwood flowers was remarkable. It felt like she just wanted to copy and paste an image, and that wasn't why I paid a drawing fee, or waited 5 months to go to this studio . I expected to work with an artist, and that's just not what I got. All I got was catty attitude and insults for wanting what I wanted. So now I'm out a deposit and I feel SO disappointed. NO ONE should talk to customers this way.

Paid $200 up front for a drawing fee, and it was nowhere near the quality of the artist's portfolio. Concepts that I didn't want were in the drawing, and when I asked to change this aspect the response was a bit rude. Tried a few more times before giving up. Waste of time and money, just a stressful experience. Seemed to not care at all about the quality of her work. Will not recommend.

I adore this shop. Ive gotten many tattoos from here before over many years. I absolutely love the other artists and friendly staffing. The problem is not with the staffing themselves but a guest artist named Genevieve Caron who regularly has a guest spot there. She was extremely rude and unprofessional towards me due to her own fault of giving out her number to her clients. She had not told her clients to not give out her number to others. A friend proceeded to give me her number under the impression that it was okay because she had not specified otherwise. She asked me not to text the number and to DM/ Email her. I understood her reasoning behind it and I replied and said that it was my apologies and I do not have social media (due to mental health) so I was unaware of the email. At that point, she was rude about the fact that I do not have social media and proceeded to suggest that I get a g mail because it is free and tell me to "get with the times and use it". I proceeded to apologize once again and stated that there was no need to be rude. She then proceeded to say to me " DO YOU TEXT YOUR DENTISTS WHEN THEY ARE ON VACATION? no? I believe you're the rude one. I said fair well good sir stop texting me." I am extremely disappointed in the reaction I got from her. It could have all been avoided if she had specified to her clients not to give out her personal information and the way that the situation was dealt with on her part. I am a completely understanding person which is why I understand how it could be frustrating if people are texting your personal cell phone while away or at work, but due to her own fault of not specifying to her clients not to give out her information, she received a text from me as i was unaware of her boundaries. A simple " Hi, I do not reply to text messages about my work please email / dm me instead, thank you and have a great day" would have been the way not too loose a customer whom wanted to finish an entire tattoo sleeve, roughly 20-30 hours worth of work. The reason I am addressing this issue is that I will not support a tattoo shop that allows a rude and unprofessional human to be a guest artist there if they are treating potential clients like that due to their own lack of communication skills. This is the best tattoo experience I have ever had. From the friendly booking, consult and day off appointment it was all very professional and great. Ania is an incredible artist. She was so nice as well. Her ability to shade in and contour is mesmerizing. I am so happy with my two pieces. I really cannot say enough nice things about this place and the people. Another sweet artist even made me a pillow from a bunch of small pillows to help my back from being in an odd angle all day. I highly recommend this place. Liquid amber tattoo is very clean and the artists make sure everything gets disinfected and protected before each customer. The staff is super friendly and effective, any time you have a question they are there to help you. My husband and I we got our first tattoo. I was super happy with the communication and emails back and forth with the receptionist there. I sent in my idea of what I wanted and the artist gave me back her professional opinions of which I'm very glad she did. I was scheduled in for Feb, but as it was booked a few months prior they had to reschedule as my artist was away that day (not an issue) they actually were able to get my in sooner. Unfortunately I had to reschedule the morning of my appt due to snow and not being able to get there from White Rock so they kept my $50 deposit and asked for another $50 towards my tattoo. This was unfortunate as it was unforeseen circumstances but I understand that policy is policy. Arrived on the appointment date to a super clean studio and super friendly staff. Nicki did my tattoo and I was so impressed with the fine line work! They told me multiple times what I had to do in order for my tattoo to heal properly which is great for first timers. My tattoo is healing so well and looks absolutely amazing. Thanks Again!!

I looked around for a while before deciding on liquid amber tattoo and it was the BEST decision I made. The staff were all extremely friendly - from setting up my appointment to consultation everything was made to run smoothly. I had 10 little tattoos done by Amelia in one sitting and I could not be happier with the results. She explained everything throughly - listened to what I liked and wanted and gave her insight and expertise when I was unsure. She was realistic which is exactly what you want from your artist (in my opinion). She genuinely wanted me to be happy with the results and have what I wanted. She was completely realistic when it came to the sizes so that the tattoo wouldn’t later be compromised. She went above and beyond my expectations. She’s very sweet, easy to talk to when you’re sitting for a long time and extremely accommodating. Her line work is amazing as I got several script tattoos and they look so clean and well done. She will be my go to person in Vancouver for my upcoming tattoos and I’d recommend her a 1000x over. Also in regards to getting a tattoo during COVID they were extremely prepared. The shop was super clean and they thought of everything. The amount of gloves I seen each artist go through and washing their hands anytime they left their station I was amazed and completely at ease!

Poor customer service, but i can only say this one artist. Before a consultation you have to email and provide images for a cover up or what idea you want. So to drive all the way across the city for the artist to not to know anything about your tattoo then be advised they don't do cover ups is a waste of my time and theirs and unprofessional. I have no issue with the artist not taking on the tattoo, but to not know anything about or the other tattoo i was hoping to get as well just leaves customers feeling let down. i didn't get the chance to talk about the other 4 bits of work I wanted doing either. Liquid Amber was recommended to me from a past client and sadly this guest artist has left me with a tarnished image. All the work i have seen has been top quality, my 1 star is just the lack of professionalism for being unorganized. she failed to see, that i could be a future customer regardless of the current piece she didn't want to do, nor did she offer to see if any one else could do it or had an idea to make it work. *** This review is not to knock the work that the normal artists do, but merely to advise others to ensure if it is a cover up to ensure the artist reads the email and talks to you before you waste time going into the store***

If you want your tattoo done at some point, don't bother booking with them. Their artists look like they do an amazing job, but their booking staff is not on top of their bookings, and they will change your "spot" as they see fit. I used their online booking system to give them all the details of my tattoo, and they responded to say it would be a 4-6 month wait, which I agreed to. After 3 1/2 months I email them to see where I was on the wait list. I received a response right away, and was told I was 5th on the artists wait list and that I would be contacted to book a date "soon." I waited another couple of months, and then emailed them again. At this point I'm at almost 5 months out of the 4-6 month wait. I received a response right away, and I was told I was 7th on the artist wait list. I was confused about how I could go down two spots on the wait list after an extra two months of waiting. I emailed back to ask why I had gone down the list. I was told that I was correct I was "in fact 5th on Ashley's waitlist." Still confused as to why I hadn't moved at all in two months, I emailed again to ask. This is the response. "The reason for staying at the same spot on the waitlist is because we contact a group of clients at one time. From since you inquired in January, we have not contacted any clients yet from Ashley's waitlist. The 4-6 month wait from when we added you in October is an approximate wait time as it depends on multiple factors for us to contact people from our Artist's waitlists. We appreciate your patience in this matter and we will be in touch soon to book you in." At this point I'd had enough of this merry go round booking system, so I emailed and asked for a DATE for my tatttoo. I waited three days, and I received NO REPLY. This morning I sent my final email, that if I don't have any date for my tattoo after waiting 5 months I want my reservation canceled. In summary If you want your tattoo to actually get done at some point, and you're a new customer, don't bother booking with Liquid Amber Tattoo. They will just waist your time, with limited to no explanation as to what is going on.

Had an initial consult with Miranda and she nailed my vision right away (she's the expert right?). Had my appointment 2 weeks later. The studio is immaculately clean and organized. Everything is wrapped in plastic and there is a noticeable attention to detail regarding sanitation. The tattoo itself took about 3 hours. The pain was minimal, only a minor irritation really and I felt like she truly took pride in her work. I am more than thrilled at the result. I had looked at various studios in Vancouver and continued to focus on coming to Liquid Amber. I am glad I did!

The girls at reception were so informative and welcoming! I was tattooed by a guest artist that did a phenomenal job (Jin O). The shop is very clean; I witnessed how thoroughly they sanitize their stations and tools while I was waiting for my turn. They truly care about you getting the tattoo you want and educating people on how to care for their tattoos afterwords. I've been to other shops before, but this has been by far my best experience and I will definitely be returning in the future!

I paid for my girlfriend to get her first tattoo done for christmas done by HOOKAH and when I came to watch her get it done i got told not to be in her bubble and to back off. She was not friendly at all, so because of that I couldnt take any picture for her first experience. Was not happy. I personally have 7 tattoos and have spend a couple thousand for all of them together and I have been to a bunch of my other friends appointments and have never been told that before. Updated*** Like i have said befor i have more then one tattoo i understand that the tattooed area is a open wound. yes i touch her wrist but it was the opposit side of her tattoo area and i already knew that it was a tight area so when i was told to move back from your sign that says not to cross because of tattooing in progress that was not enough i was told to take another step back if both me and the artist stuck our hands out we wouldnt have been able to touch then i got told to sit on a bench. Her tone in her voice not happy. Your artist will say what she wants check your cameras.

A really pleasant, friendly and clean atmosphere. Background: I visited a few well well known places before popping into Liquid Amber. Other places it seemed a bit uninterested or way too laid back about moving forward. My challenge was time is at a premium for I'm on vacation. So I walked into Liquid Amber and was greeted by a friendly aspiring artist at the front desk. She was super helpful and managed to get me an appointment with Diana the next day. The artist: I turned up on the next day and saw Diana who was really warm and friendly, she had added her touch to what I wanted, at first I was unsure, I'm sure at a point I said I'm not sure if floral is my thing, in hindsight I realise how silly that was of me...but Diana didn't get all weird or offended, I think she just realised I had no idea about the background of my tattoo. As Diana explained her vision and gave me reference points I was in total awe and super excited to have it completed, so much so, I sat through the whole thing (just under three hours). Diana really took great interest in my tattoo and what it meant, I could tell she was genuinely interested and enthusiastic, she was really into the design as it was outside her norm. Environment: I noticed Diana and the other artists were very OCD/ritualistic in their efforts to maintain a clean and safe working place, this really was good to see, and very reassuring. Price: For the experience, the end to end smooth sailing, the artists time and efforts, I'm not at all grumbling. Money well spent. Conclusion: All in all, I'm super happy, and when I next visit Vancouver I'll be sure to drop in again!

The studio decided to not only keep my deposit, but decided to make it non transferable or refundable despite the fact at no stage was it discussed the deposit had an ‘expiration date’ I cancelled within enough notice , I tried to reschedule but we’re told they were busy then when I wanted to give it to someone who could use it I got a very arrogant tone and told me that ‘they have been very accomodating’ Which could not be further from the truth. A tattoo studio to avoid if possible in my opinion and I’ll make sure people know it.

How can I give this place any more than 1 star when it is so hard to book a session with the artist of your choice? I sent a request for a specific artist, after about a week I received a response that they haven't heard back from the artist so I will have to pick someone else and suggested another artist. Color completely faded from my tattoo after 2 years. I have multiple tattoos from other artists that are just as old and still look like new. They want to charge me full price to get it retouched. Had a black and blue star done by the same artist and had to get it redone by someone else because the blue was so dark the the whole thing looked black. Poor customer service and poor tattoos. I would suggest emailing the place if you can't get through over the phone! Once everything has been set up, it's usually a very positive experience. I definitely LOVE my new tattoo. My artist was Michal and he was so thoughtful and skilled. My first tattoo went so horribly because of a different artist and their less-than-skilled hand so he took extra care to make sure this one would turn out perfectly and it payed off. I really appreciated it as well because, you know, a tattoo is permanent. I would definitely recommend this artist and this tattoo shop. The shop was impeccably clean, organized and every staff member was super nice, helpful, and courteous. I can't wait to go back and get another tattoo. Came here on Tuesday to get my first two tattoos. The store was really clean and the staff super friendly. I got an appointment with their guest artist Kevin and he was absolutely great! He made sure everything was clean before and during the appointment. He did an amazing job and I'm super happy with the results. The atmosphere in there is comforting and calm. The staff is really helpful and they make sure you won't leave the store with any questions. I can definitely recommend going there!

This was my first tattoo so I was a bit nervous about the whole process but after filling out a tattoo request form online I got a call back pretty quickly saying that had found an artist that was a great choice for the tattoo I was looking to get. Because we are in the middle of a pandemic rather than in person consultations we connected by email and she gave me ideas and if there was something I wanted changed she had no problem quickly coming up with other ideas for me to look at. Funny that in the end after all the different ideas she presented to me I ended up choosing and loving her very first option. She never made me feel bad for asking for many different options as she realized with it being my first tattoo I wanted to be certain about what I would be making a permanent piece of art on my body. And I could not be happier. In fact I am just in the process of booking a couple more appointments with her for some other work. The studio took COVID 19 very seriously and I felt like I was in safe environment to get a tattoo during this difficult time. Amelia tattooed the coordinates of where I met my boyfriend who passed away a couple of months ago. My tattoo turned out amazing- Lauren is such a good artist!- and is healing nicely, especially thanks to the shop's aftercare instructions! Let me preface by saying I've been a client at Liquid Amber for over 10 years and during my time getting tattooed here I have always felt safe and welcome.. until Kelsey. Whenever I interact with this individual I am met with a cold and rude demeanor. Kelsey is not the type of energy Liquid Amber is known for and I can't imagine how new clients would feel being met with her attitude. Additionally, she is incredibly bad at her job. Whenever she is working the phones are not being answered. Kelsey acts as though she is doing you a favor by doing a job she is being paid for. I would highly recommend Liquid Amber reconsider her employment as she reflects poorly on such an incredible establishment.

had the worst experience with HOOKAH, she’s good at her job but I don’t know what makes her so rude! Doesn’t know how to talk to people, SO UNPROFESSIONAL! I was talking a picture with my Phone and she started Mia behaving and talking rudely! On top of it my tattoo was done within 1:35 hours and she charged me for 2 hours, when I told the same to the receptionist, she dint even had an answer! If you wanna go to this place be ready to be charged more and like no one really counts the time but since it was my SECIND appointment, I knew and I started a timer too still they charged me more!!

Visiting the city for a week, I decided to get inked up. I walked in and set up an appointment for the next day. Jessie at the front desk was super nice! The whole place gave me a good feeling, which I can't say the same thing for a couple of other shops I passed by while walking the neighborhood. I got to work with Ashley on my small black line tattoo--she was awesome! Seriously, I really enjoyed the whole experience, I was really put at ease. These guys are chill. Liquid Amber had emailed me to book a consultation appointment, which I did. They had asked for a deposit, which I thought was apart of the process as I had never gotten a tattoo before. I went there on my appointment day and they told me I was booked in for an actual tattoo. I drank a little the night before and so they wouldn't let me get the tattoo that day. I am now out $100 and I don't have a tattoo. They said it was a loss on their end but really it was on mine because I paid for the materials not them! They were really condescending and could not see the flaw in their process. Would highly NOT recommend!

He is incredibly skilled , I had a partial portrait / black and grey realism tattoo , and he nailed it out of the park .
