One of my favorite tattoo artists recently relocated here so now this place will see a fair amount of me as I go about finishing off my arm tattoo. With session one now done I have 3 more sessions to go before my color blast work is complete. I'm looking forward to the next sessions too. Shop rate is on par with most of the other tattoo shops in the city too which is great especially with the many artists that work here too.

I've been tattooed by Kris, Darren, and three times by Melissa. Very talented and friendly bunch. The space is high energy, low stress, interesting and colourful. The secretary at the front desk is very friendly. Sometimes an artist will take a walk-in which is convenient. Worth visiting just to see the cool artwork on the walls. Calgary is lucky to have such a great shop on 17th - Would highly recommend going here.

You can expect a friendly greeting when you talk in the door and the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and will make sure you match with the artist who's style will suit your idea best. I really can't say enough great words about them. All the artists conduct themselves professionally and have good technical ability. You are sure to come out with some sick ink and leave happy. My artist is Steve Peace, and he is AMAZING. I am SO happy with all my tattoo's that he has done. My overall experience with him has been exceptional at each and every session. Steve is friendly and easy to talk to, he will make you feel comfortable and go above and beyond to make sure you are doing okay during your session. If you are looking for the best colour portraits or realism around he is for sure your man! You will absolutely get nothing less than amazing ink from Steve! I am proud to rock several of Steve's pieces and I am constantly being complimented on whenever I go out! Hands down the best, most talented artist I've had the pleasure of working with! Got both sides of my nose done here a few months ago and it was great. They got me in right away. The room was super clean and the piercer was very professional and wicked and didn't rush the piercings at all. I was worried about making sure they were even and she spent time getting the marks exactly where I wanted before piercing. Healed great. Would definitely go back and recommend!

The only reason I give them 2 stars is because I know they have a very talented artist there, HOWEVER, that artists worth becomes much less when they have such an ego, it makes the experience less than pleasant. My consult was with a female artist & she was so negative that I cancelled the appointment. I absolutely hated my consult. Rude and ego & negative energy. Vibe counts for a lot when it comes to lifelong commitments.

I have only gotten piercing done here and can't speak about the tattooing side. Miza the resident piercer is simply a great person, she is friendly, polite and kind. She remembered me from over a year ago when she pierced my ears, when I stopped in for another piercing and was helpful without steering me during the jewelry selection. She is skilled at her craft and each time I followed directions and had a quick and easy healing process. I stopped in a month later and Miza was happy to give my newest piecing a check up to ensure it was healing properly. There are lots of piercing and tattoo studios in Calgary but Immaculate Concept earned my repeat business through professionalism and courtesy. If I ever get a tattoo this is where I'll get it. I should mention the business is spotless, they take cleanliness very seriously and follow industry best practices, as the starting point for customer care.

Went in a few weeks ago and Miza, the piercer said that they only pierce people who want hoop earings. Although the option is nice, it doesn't offer a lot of variety for people who just want studs. I ended up going to Tribal expression instead.

I would like to say that my first experience with this establishment and meeting was less than satisfactory, to say the least! I am new to getting a tattoo or even knowing what the process is. I was set up with an initial consultation, or so I thought? When I arrived with my son for our first ever introduction, I want to say it was not a nice experience. The Person whom the consultation was set up with, didn't seem to have a clue what we were there for or even want to spend the time to find out. I told her that this was setup yesterday by the person I spoke with on the phone and she didn't even know who that was, really?? I showed her a drawing of what we had in mind and she just kinda stood there and said nothing but negative things. I asked what she meant, but she wasn't able to answer, her comment was I need to look at the image and come up with something, even though I thought that is why I sent my earlier image of what I was thinking?? Just want to say that my son and I were excited about this process and our first experience has left a very bad taste in our mouths as to what to expect going forward. Thanks for making that a very bad memory.

contacted Jim about a Tattoo. He was very firm about size and type. Basically he told me he was only willing to do the kind of tattoo he wanted to do - Maybe if I'm not paying for it - ok, but if it's my body, and I have to pay, then I'll get what I want. Not easy to deal with, stuck in his ways and arrogant. He might be a great artist, but I would not recommend him. Not sure if I will continue with this place. Might try another artist and see how hard they are to deal with. Not a good start so far

I got my nose pierced here, it was good service and sanatary. There was not much selection for piercing jewelry however. When it came time to place where it would go the lady who was piercing me was sending very bad vibes. She was acting impatient and like she was in a rush. For that I felt stressed and went with the placement I wasn’t sure of and because of it I hate where it is, and I hate looking at it, I don’t like looking to closely at it or thinking of it because it makes me so mad. There was none waiting to get pierced so I don’t know if it was the end of her shift or why she was in a rush. I think that if you’re going to do piercings (on peoples face especially!) then you should make sure they’re sure or it because it will change their face and leave scares. Not impressed with her attitude .

I went to Brian Keyes a couple months back and I absolutely love the work he did. It’s beautiful and it’s creative and it fit well with my other tattoos. I wanted to find someone who could do a very unique floral style and he nailed it. It healed quickly and properly. I’ve had a few tattoos done that scarred and struggled to heal but this one was the quickest piece to heal and looks the best now (and it’s by far the biggest I have). Brian is awesome, he was fun and super friendly and I had a great experience all around. Absolutely loved it.

Worst service in the city. This guy came out to sware at us and tell us we are not welcome back to his business for trying to shop. My girlfriend and I just came to purchase a new tounge ring because she lost a ball to screw it on. The man seemed very confused as we just wanted to buy a replacement piercing. The owner liturally denied our service and denied to sell us the tounge ring we wanted to buy in the display case because "his piercer wasint in today and everything was locked in the back so we would have to come back. We asked to buy the one we wanted and he said something along the lines of you cant put it In your mouth to test it out? Obviously has never delt with a customer in his life as he turned down a paying customer. As I said he ended the engagement with "hope you find another shop cause your not welcome here" if I could go beyond a review in terms of spreading the word of the terrible experience I had here I certainly would. With great pleasure you will never receive business from us.

I got my first tatto here and it was a horrible experience. I didn’t meet the artist until 5 minutes before the appointment and paid $250 for a tattoo that took 7 minutes. It was an incredibly easy outline and when I asked for it to be smaller I was told that it was “too difficult” and nothing could be done. I went through with it so I wouldn’t waste my money but every time I think about the experience I get angry. Don’t go here!

Through out the tattoo process he didn't speak to me at all until the end. I did get this tattoo a few years ago but now I'm looking into places to have it covered up or removed because it was such a terrible experience

I recently got a tattoo at Immaculate Concept, and I was deeply impressed. I saw the tattoo artist Steph Speer, who is an apprentice. I'm someone who loves tattoos and tattoo art, and I'm really picky about who I let tattoo my body. I've seen so many shops and so many apprentices who's art is fine, but it's clear that they are just starting out. I was SHOCKED to find out that Steph is an apprentice. The quality of her work is top notch. Her designs are gorgeous, her line work impeccable, and her attention to detail is meticulous. She is already such a professional - she worked with me to develop a design that I loved and held a lot of meaning for me, and executed it perfectly. I'm also gonna add that she's a rad lady to spend a few hours with. :) Steph is an incredible artist and IC is lucky to have her! I am so, so happy with my tattoo!!

Good piercing experience would give 5 stars but both of my earrings broke within a week and half of getting them done. One for no reason, the other broke after getting hit by a ball, now both of them are stuck in my ears. Happy with the service a bit disappointed in the jewelry

Had my first tattoo. They put me with an apprentice named Kris and the accents dont look good and they got frustrated that I had a bad back and couldn't move my limbs very easily for them. I called in and tried to get a second tattoo and had a consult and when kris saw me come in for my consult they never got back to me (I'm assuming he told that person not to work on me). Very unprofessional. If u have a disability go to another place. The staff is not good and are very U professional. FFF---- IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD HAVE!

This shop is wonderful! I've gotten facial piercings and tattoos done here over the years. Everybody on staff is super nice and the shop rates are fairly priced. The space is huge, it's comfortable and there's lots of cool stuff to look at. I've gotten 3 tattoos from Mason Jenkins and I'm running out of reasons to go anywhere else! Mason is great at colorful traditional stuff. After 5+ hours together my leg look amazing! He also was super accomodating on a small memorial tattoo I came in to get with 2 of my sisters. He got the 3 of us in and out so quick! Super funny dude who is awesome to spend time with! I can't recommend Immaculate Concept enough!

My friend and I took my 12 year old daughter here to get her upper ear pierced. Cory(or Cody?) was absolutely amazing! He was so patient with my daughter who was super nervous. He didn't get frustrated at all when after 40 minutes or so of talking with her she decided not to go through with the piercing. I decided to get my nose pierced since my daughter changed her mind. He did an amazing job! 2 weeks later and it has been healing nicely, no issues at all and it looks amazing! I highly recommend coming here!

Overall the place was very clean and professional. However, I went for my second small tattoo and felt like the female artist didn't have the time of day for me. From the consultation to actually receiving the tattoo, I very much felt like she thought my tattoo was a joke. Not recommended if you are nervous about the process at all. Also not recommended if you think you might make a noise during the process as I was told to be quiet because she was trying to do a job.

Got my septum done here. Very quick, sanitary, with a good price. Though if you are torn between two places to get pierced don't make this your choice. Piercer is rushed and almost convinced me not to get the piercing that I've wanted for months. Can't complain about the service itself, only the vibes I got from the piercer. She acted like she didn't want to do it.

Got a few ear cartillege piercings there and Cory really knows what he's doing - I've never had an ear piercing heal this well. I had mine pierced with 14k gold hoops which is great for those of you with allergies. This place is super welcoming to everyone. I like that they ask you your pro nouns on the consent form - I wish every place would just do this. Clean, positive environment which probably makes tattoos/piercings a bit less scary for a lot of people.

I had booked an appointment with an artist and paid a deposit a few months ago. This artist has always done my pieces, and I am comfortable and loyal to them. Recently I learned that my artist had left Immaculate. I asked for my deposit to be returned and was denied and offered another artist. I am not interested in another artist. When I asked where my artist was now working, I was refused an answer. I find this very troubling. A tattoo is a personal thing, and should be a personal decision as to who does the work. I will not be going to this shop for any future work. Disappointing. The quality and personality of the shop has declined.

Just got both nipples done, and by far the best piercing experience I've ever had. I did my homework before I went because I have had a lot of piercings fail. Miza was awesome! She answered all my questions clearly, and wasn't phased by anything I brought up, or the fact that mine are innies. The studio was clean and sterile as is proper, and she got both sides done fast and getting around my tendency to nausea. Very reasonably priced, and I will definitely be going back. Her 17 years of experience shine through her skill and professionalism.

What a joke! I arrive for my scheduled appointment, the customer in front of me drove in from Edmonton for his, i over hear the receptionist tell him, "sorry we tried to call you all day, your artist called in sick for a conference in Edmonton". He was extremly dissapointed. Next i walk up, i had a different artist, i get the same speech, "Sorry Brittney we tried calling you all day, your artist called in sick". If they cant scheulde an appointment im not sure i would trust them with my body. I got my deposit back and will be going elsewhere.

The female artist I had was very impatient and took less than 3 minutes with me for my consulate. Told her the design I wanted and booked an appointment for a week or so later. Come to show up and she then scetched it out infront of me and it wasn't what I wanted. Told her that and she said it's this or nothing. I had already paid most of the fee by that point and would lose 200 dollars if I said change it. Now I have a tattoo that I don't want on me and will be going elsewhere for a cover up. I also healed completely and more than 3 spots were missed. I called about 3 weeks after my tattoo to get a fill in, and was told it would be another $100. I just hung up and decided I wanted nothing more to do with this place. I got the tattoo in October last year from Nikki, I think her name was. I won't be back and regret this tattoo.

Mason was an absolute pro with a gentle touch, and even after hours under the needle, I barely felt pain. Maybe the Bob Ross playing in the background helped?

Would not even give this place a 1 star....Horrible service. Went to get a tattoo today. Talked to the receptionist and showed her my very simple design of 2 letters and a small symbol. She took the design to the back to show an artist she thought was best at font tattoos. She came back and said he refused to do it and did not even offer a consult. A true talented artist would at least be willing to talk to a client, talk about why they don't think a tattoo would work and offer a consult to make changes that he or she thinks would be necessary!

I had a relatively simple tattoo done by Alix a few weeks ago, and there are some spots on the tattoo she clearly missed filling in- it healed perfectly; I was very careful, and it's not my first tattoo either- but there are several spots missing. Normally, that would be fine, touch-ups exist for a reason... So I sent her a few emails over the course of the next few weeks asking her if we could fix that one up, and at the same time do another just like it, on the opposite side of my body. She won't return any of my emails, not even for a touch-up on one of her own pieces. The other artists who weren't even doing work on me that day were more friendly than she was. Also, for a tattoo which took half an hour, she charged me 200$, instead of 100$ which was standard- Even the secretary questioned her about that one, but Alix was firm on charging me what seemed to be extra. I left a 20% tip anyway. I'm giving it more than one star because Alix does not represent the entire company- the second star is for the other, more friendly members of staff.

Friend convinced me to try this place out instead of my usual piercing guy. Nose piercing was done in the wrong place and the wrong size jewelry. Stuck out too far and looked chunky. Went home and took it out and I’m going to go to my usual guy in a couple weeks to get it redone correctly.

My tattoo artist at immaculate is Jimmy Munkaspeni. I get so many compliments on my tattoos from strangers. I have two painterly style tattoos of trees that cover both of my calves entirely. The colour, artwork, design, everything came out better than I could have ever imagined. I would completely trust what he is doing, and take any opinion or change he wants to do to a design, as he knows what a tattoo will look like in 10 years and knows what he needs to do to make the design look good forever. He is picky about taking on clients, but I would say that if you are lucky enough to be taken on by him, give him a lot of freedom of design and you will be impressed

I've known what I've wanted for years, but it took a bit of impulse and my friend going in for a walk in to actually make it happen. I was just going to check out the vibe and be there for moral support but I decided to go ahead with it. I was pretty vague and a bit nervous about what I wanted, but Nathan drew up EXACTLY what I was envisioning! He KILLED IT!! I AM SO HAPPY WITH MY TATTOO! I know some tattoo shops can be intimidating and kind of pompus but that is not the way with Immaculate Concept. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed and offered a cold drink. Will for SURE be going back for any other tats I get.

Great place! Awesome people who are very personable. I got a tattoo on my foot from Steph. I had emailed her and told her I loved her style and I wanted a scorpion. I've searched high and low for a beautiful feminine scorpion and with no luck I hoped she could come up with something close enough to what I had pictured.
