Came to book an appointment with them because of COVID you had to come to the shop. I got there and did the required forms before calling them. WAITED OUTSIDE for 20 MINUTES in the cold and rain, no one came or called me for me to book an appointment. Initial Phone call seemed rushed just said they would be right out. No one came. I got there at 12:27 Pm and the shop opened at 12pm. I left at 12:48 because no one came or called me to come in after they told me to wait outside. I could see the employees moving around inside. when i showed them my desired tattoo they told me the numbers had to be bigger otherwise they would look illegible in the future and being naive i trusted their opinion, in the end I stupidly agreed to the design they suggested and now ive been left unhappy with how it looks on my body and overall it just doesnt look very similar to the font i chose in the first place as it isnt very clean, I wish I just went with my original desired design but i trusted their opinion too much and I am quite shy so I had a hard time speaking up for myself in that position, next time trust ur gut and dont let them sway you just because they are the artists

First timer for a tattoo. The staff here are amazing. Very friendly, and paying a lot of attention to health and safety concerns during covid. On my first visit, someone quickly came to talk to me, answer questions, and book me for an appointment. And for the appointment itself, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything went great, and they provided clear care instructions and a kit with ointment and cream. I can't say enough good things about New Moon and their staff! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, whether they're looking for their first or their fiftieth tattoo.

I spoke to a girl there who looked at a tattoo on my arm and said there was absolutely zero chance of covering it up. Now I was going to get a whole sleeve just to cover the tangerine sized tattoo on my arm. She wouldn't even talk to me any further. Bad business. They could have at least tried to have an artist look at it, but no. She threw away a couple of thousand dollars with all the work I was interested in.

I cannot say enough about this place! I came here a little while ago to get 3 of my piercings replaced with plastic for a bone scan, since they were freshly pierced (at a different studio) about 3 weeks prior I decided it was best to get a piercer to change them. This is where I met Tim; who upon seeing my septum piercing knew that I had been wronged. As you can see in the pictures, they completely misplaced my septum! I had known something was off, it hurt like crazy and bled a lot upon being pierced and then continued to hurt each day since. Tim felt so bad for me he even gave me a discount so he could correct the other piercers mistake. He made me feel so comfortable and ready to take the leap again and so, a few days later, after leaving the other one out to heal a bit, I was in Tim's caring hands and got the piercing I wanted all along. Now I love it and I can even flip It to use my CPAP at night (which I could not before and when I asked at the other studio they told me that I can't flip it, even before I was pierced!! Believe me though, with the position it was in.... It was impossible anyways!! I even mentioned that I have a cpap to sleep at night ????). Anyways, my experience with Tim was fantastic and I highly recommend him if you want a skilled piercer to take good care of you. BONUS: he is also a total sweetheart and hilarious, he will put you right at ease!

Not sure what this place is like for tattoos but I would not recommend it for piercings. The jewellery they use is just awful. I went to Kaiti for a rook piercing and a week or so later the ball came off while I was cleaning it. I went back in to have her tighten it for me but it fell off again days later. I went in a second time asking if she could change the jewellery for me and she refused, saying the piercing was too new for it to be replaced. She tightened it again for me and told me that it was so tight I’d have to come back again if I wanted it changed. An hour after I got home it fell out without me even touching it. I decided to change the bar myself to one I had from a previous piercing and it’s never fallen out again, but from all of that early trauma it still hasn’t healed properly. It’s been a year and 8 months and it still gets crusty and sore sometimes. This was not only my experience - two of my friends went with me and got pierced by her and both of them also had their jewellery fall out. I also got some lobe piercings done by her and they reacted horribly. I changed the earrings to some cheap ones I picked up at Shoppers Drugmart and never had a problem afterwards. The shop was really clean and Kaiti was super friendly, but if you want piercings there I would recommend bringing your own jewellery.

I got my first tattoo done on September 15,2015 at New Moon Tattoo on Carling. The work was done by Milena. Have only good things to say about the whole experience. Friendly service when pricing out the work, later coming back to book the tattoo, and coming in the day of the tattoo the 2 reception staff members were very helpful and friendly. Milena was great. She was aware it was my 1st tattoo and walked me through everything. Easy to talk to and made my 1st experience a great one! Love the final product! Great job on the tattoo. My friend and I went in on August 2nd to have our tragus pierce, I was so nervous because I am not good with pain.. Fizz did the piercing, it was the best piercing experience I ever had, she was so sweet, very gentle and professional and made me feel really comfortable, I did not feel any pain. First got my nose pierced by Kaiti when I was in high school- super nice, super gentle and gave me perfect instructions on how to maintain it. Went back recently when my self changed nose ring got stuck and she helped take it out and basically reopened my piercing, and even though I was already in pain, she was still incredibly gentle and got me fixed up very fast. Would 100% recommend her!

I can't really comment on the price since I don't know what's typical for Ottawa area but I felt it was very reasonable. I'm definitely planning on coming back. P.S. If you're planning on getting a tattoo here, keep in mind that you need to book an appointment 1-2 weeks in advance and a deposit is required. They also don't accept debit cards: cash or credit card only.

Went in this past Saturday to get a nose piercing done. There was a bit of a wait but the staff was very helpful and efficient. The piercing was done by Kate who is absolutely fantastic. It took no time at all and I was at ease the entire time, she was so quick I didn't have time to get nervous. I had gotten a helix piercing done somewhere else and it was pretty infected, my whole ear was red and swollen and pretty painful. I called New Moon for a removal of the piercing and I was able to come right after work which was amazing! I'm not sure who I had but I'm thinking I had Tim from reading the reviews. He was super understanding and empathetic to my situation, super professional and gentle with my ear. He explained everything he was doing and explained that the other place I went to put the wrong gauge in and that was causing unnecessary rubbing against my cartilage. So we decided on a smaller gauge that wouldn't irritate my ear, and the removal and putting back in of another piercing was almost painless. I had such a good experience and my swelling and discomfort has already reduced dramatically. Never going anywhere else for a piercing. Super happy!

I went to get pierced by Kaiti today. She explained the expectations for my septum piercing experience quite well and the execution was swift! I generally like to suck it up when I'm feeling queazy, and unfortunately I underestimated how I was feeling after I stood up. Kaiti quickly caught that my body was in shock. She had me sit back down, lowered the chair, got me an iced tea, and patted around my face with cool paper towel. Honestly felt like I was relaxing at a grunge spa! I would do it all over again for the pamper treatment. Thanks Kaiti!

I've gotten two tattoos from Lisa, who does great work. I recently went in to enquire about a third and was blown away by the attitude from the redhead at the front desk. Every time I asked a question, she became more and more aggressive and hostile, raising her voice at times. I was simply asking legitimate questions, for example, I was trying to understand why I was being charged double for a tattoo that was half the size of my last one and why it would take double the time. I was ok with it, just curious, but she seemed insulted by my questions. Immediately following this terrible experience, I went to Railbender and low and behold, they quoted the same tattoo at half the price and half the time to create. All in all, this extreme disrespect and unprofessionalism has lost New Moon a customer. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Got a nostril piercing done by Tim. He was great! He removed a nostril piercing I got done a few days prior on the opposite side that I wasn't happy with, and walked me through placement and size of jewel. Very knowledgeable and the piercing was quick and pain free. I'm glad I trusted his expertise on placement because I'm very happy with it. I had some issues a couple of weeks later when I accidentally pulled on the stud and it caused a little bump to appear. I emailed the shop and they got back to me in a timely manner and advised me of how to take care of the situation and I am now bump free! I highly recommend New Moon for piercings. Very friendly and welcoming staff who are knowledgeable in what they do! I will definitely be back when it's time to switch out my piercing and have them do it so I can learn how to do it myself.

He was professional enough to notice that my previous piercings (that I had done at a different establishment) were poorly done and he was able to fix them. I recently came in with a super sore helix piercing that had been having a hard time healing (I got it done somewhere downtown). Kaiti explained to me that they pierced me with the wrong type of jewelry and she then proceeded to swap it out for the proper piece of jewelry. She was so kind and gentle and she did an amazing job explaining the process to me. Since then, it has been healing much better and hasn’t been as sore! I will definitely be returning to New Moon and Kaiti for my future piercings!! :)

I went to this place when my helix earring fell out after losing one of the beads. Previously,I had bad experiences with other piercing places. They were excellent -realistic about the wait time, gave me full information about the procedure and care of the piercing, and were quick and relatively painless about it. They were sticklers about age requirements (no piercings for youth under 15yrs) which was a disappointment to my young teen, but something I really respected about the business.

LOVE THIS PLACE!. Went to New Moon West. Had a triple Helix piercing. Although I have underlying health issues I felt totally confident about going there during Covid. VERY clean and hygienic! It turns out that my daughter and I had been to Tim at a previous location years ago. He was great then and is fantastic now! The whole experience was wonderful!
