I came across Black widow and immediately was drawn to their shop and feel in love with the work their artist did. Vince was incredible and beyond talented. Great experience from start to finish! Jackson responded very fast to my online inquiry, and was always very friendly. The artist Vince created a gorgeous design and executed with great skill. This was my first full design (my previous tattoo was only about the size of a toonie, this one is about 6” long) and I was prepared to be very sceptical and particular to make sure it turned out right but it was not needed since Vince was so perceptive right away of the concept. The entire experience was very comfortable and the art is better than I could have imagined, will love this piece forever no doubt.

Shop Manager, Jackson, is probably the nicest guy you'll meet - offered me coffee, water, or if I wanted to order food the minute I walked in the door. Checked in on me repeatedly while I was in the chair. The quality of the artwork that I got, both times, surpassed what I could've imagined! The attention to detail, the shading, the professionalism. I have several more ideas for more work, and I will 1000% be going back, and requesting Jazz specifically.

Many years and 5 tattoos later, I have nothing but incredible things to say about the entire team. I have seen two different artists and both were extremely professional and great to work with. The shop manager, Jackson, is on point and his communications before and after your appointments is top notch. The shop is extremely clean and looks fantastic. Last year I got a tattoo down at Black Widow. I was dissatisfied at first but decided to sit on it for a while. Recently I have gotten another tattoo somewhere else and it really solidified my feelings. This is not a bad shop. The people are talented and it's a nice atmosphere. This is just a sort of heads up to anyone considering. I felt very rushed throughout my time at Black Widow. The initial consultation was rough and I never felt like my concerns were heard. It was my first ever consultation so I assumed that is how it goes. I gave a sheet of similar tattoos in a style I wanted. Very illustrative. When I showed up for my appointment my artists gave me his drawing, which seemed rushed, and was not exactly what I had wanted. I tried explaining to the artist this but was rushed into the chair, and reassured that the style could be changed from the realistic drawing to the much more illustrative design i requested. Well that was a lie. I got what he drew, no changes. This is when I learned that these are talented artists, but only in their style. Do not expect them to be able to wiggle or bend in any way. Do your research, if you like an artists style, great, otherwise avoid. Also a heads up, this is not my real name. I wanted to do this as anonymous as possible, I know the Toronto Tattoo community is tight and I don't want to burn any bridges.

I've been a customer of Chino's work for over 7 years and I have found no reason to go anywhere else. The artists there can emulate a variety of styles and bring their own originality that's distinctive and unique. The space is comfortable, clean and well-run. They've always been very reasonable on the price of the pieces and the work is top-notch. While other shops will come and go, this place will continue to be a worthy fixture here in Toronto.

Got my first tattoo from BLACK WIDOW with Jesse, who was phenomenal! I was extremely pleased with my experience. My tattoo looks wicked! She was a dream to work with and is very comforting (first tattoo). Right from the beginning, she took the time to make sure I was satisfied with the look and placement of my tattoo. The attention to detail was great and the outcome was unreal! As for the studio itself, it is clean, beautiful and very inviting (everyone is kind. Thank you for that). Proper measures were taken to ensure comfort (offered a beverage, music and tv) and cleanliness. Jackson answered all my questions before, during and after receiving the service. You may feel the shop is expensive, but remember these are permanent. You're paying for talent and expertise like no other. This shop is amazing! I've been to a few in Halifax and Toronto but there's something so cool and kind about Black Widow. I was a bit early for my appointment, so I had a chance to watch them interact with other customers. They welcomed us by name, offered water or coffee, made sure we were kept up to date on our appointment. This was the first time I had my tattoo designed for me by so I was incredibly nervous to get it done, since you only see it the day of your appointment. Jeremy listened intently during my consultation, paid attention to the little details of what I shared and gave me some really sound advice on placement. On the day of the tattoo he worked with me to adjust it, was super patient on edits and sizing and placement on my arm. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did. I will 100% go back to Black Widow for any future tattoos!

I would recommend Jeremy and Black Widow to anyone. It was a great experience and I felt extremely comfortable the entire time. First, the place was bright and immaculate, which is a good first sign. The front desk help (Jackson I think?) was so friendly and helpful. He was super patient and answered all my questions. He also worked me in last minute on a super booked Friday afternoon. Other tattoo receptionists have made feel like a pesky cow being carted off to slaughter and this was completely the opposite. Lastly, Jeremy (@pinkthroat on IG) was just lovely. He's one of those people I just liked the instant I met him - he too was patient and easy to work with. Best of all, I immediately felt even more comfortable after our consultation. Warm, personable, super funny and devastatingly talented. His work is amazing and he was beyond professional. He worked with me on the simple single needle script that I wanted and we were able to have an actual dialogue, which was great. The tattoo came out perfectly and was exactly what I wanted. Honestly, the only thing I was bummed about was the fact that I wasn't getting a bigger, more intricate piece done. If you love portraiture, check out Jeremy's IG portfolio for a treat. The world doesn't have enough classical artists these days.

She honestly did an amazing job, it is exactly how I had hoped it would turn out, probably even better, so precise and you could tell she was really wanting to make sure it was perfect. It is definitely one of the cleanest most professional, most welcoming places I've ever been to. Fairly priced, in my opinion. Nice team from what I could tell, relaxed environment. Relaxed and friendly chit chat, would happily go back and recommend it to anyone.

I contacted black widow regarding my sleeve. Jackson was super helpful during the consultation process. Super clean shop. First session I sat for almost 9 hours, they stayed open late so that my artist and I could finish up what we had to get done during that first session. They also fed me pizza, say what?!?! They sure did, also coffee as it was a long session. Second session was just as smooth and they brought in KFC. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a tattoo. I believe what makes this tattoo shop even more outstanding is the energy in it. I dealt with Jackson and Jeremy directly, and there's no mistaking that their first instinct is to take care of their clients. Jackson was already welcoming the moment I opened the door; he was chill to talk to while he explained the basic rules in their shop. He was patient in answering my e-mails leading up to the consultation and even after. Jeremy made sure my first tattoo experience will be exciting; I was really nervous the night before! My go-to black and grey guys! Super clean, talented artists and amazing staff! I had gotten a traditional leg sleeve done here by Chino and I couldn't be happier. He prepped with me prior to my actual pieces (a rendered visual of how the pieces would look on my leg) and also made sure all my pieces were placed exactly where I wanted. I can't say enough good things about this shop, it was recommended to me by a friend and I will continue to get work done here. Parking is also feasible with a green P lot beside it and also a huge underground behind the shop!

The shop is well maintained and run in such a professional manner, the shop coordinator Jackson was a great communicator and helped me with all my scheduling needs. He's impeccable line work and love for detail really brought this piece to life. Guido is absoultely phenomenal when it comes to attention to detail. The preparation he did to ensure that the placement of the piece was correct, as well as the time he spent to ensure the quality of the shading was exactly like the reference picture I'd shown him, showed in the end result. Whenever I decide to get my next piece, I'll try to book him if possible! I also felt very comfortable the entire time, despite this being my first tattoo. After researching for a while, I decided to have my first tattoo done at Black Widow. I was attracted by the overwhelmingly positive reviews and amazing art that each artist was able to do based on their website portfolio. From the jump when inquiring about a possible appointment, Jackson, the person that you will be speaking with for all your appointment and tattoo needs is super friendly and efficient at answering and providing all the information you require. He quickly turned me to one of their artists, Guido, who from a phone consultation immediately exhibited the same sort of mentality towards the tattoo concept I had in mind. He was also super friendly and very helpful with planning/designing the final look of the tattoo based on the references I have provided. On the day of the tattoo, everyone was there on time and was ready to get started albeit you have to factor in the prep time (definitely worth the wait) they require in terms of setting up and etc. The studio was super clean and adhered to strict sanitary guidelines. Some amenities are provided to you like coffee or water which I thought was a great touch and showed that Black Widow cared about their clients' comfort first. At the end of it all, I left the shop with a great looking tattoo done by an amazing and talented artist (shout out to Guido) and I highly recommend this place for anyone that is looking to get their first or next tattoo. You will not be disappointed!

Where to begin. The store manager was amazing at answering all my questions/inquiries/concerns via email before booking an appointment. I had the pleasure of having Vince, a fantastic artist do my tattoo along with my husband’s. Although it was my first time, Vince was so patient with me by answering my million and one questions and reassured me about my first tattoo (which is essential making sure that you’re comfortable with your artist and that they are comfortable with you). I must’ve talked his ears off but he was SO great. My husband and I love him and he’s definitely doing our next tattoo as well. The store manager did not greet me when I got there on time, instead he took the liberty of swinging by after I got my stencil so he could greet me and introduce himself. He treated us like family and I was so just overtaken by excitement. I had my first tattoo done at Black Widow, and I can't gush about the people at the shop enough. From the start of our email communication, Jackson was extremely friendly and responsive, and I had a consultation booked right away with Rosario. I've seen his designs on instagram, and was absolutely in love with his work. After the consult, everything was communicated clearly at the time of booking by the girl at reception (unfortunately didn't get her name) and she was very sweet with all my questions. On the day of the tattoo, Jackson was so welcoming and friendly, and even offered me food and water before the session. I couldn't imagine a better experience for my first tattoo - Rosario was patient and professional, and really paid attention to the details that I wanted in the design and was so helpful in the size and positioning of what I wanted. Since it was quite high on my upper thigh, Rosario offered me a privacy screen to make me more comfortable, and communicated with me throughout the session to make sure I was doing well. The entire experience was extremely professional and friendly. Rosario is an amazing artist and the final result was absolutely gorgeous. It also didn't hurt that he was a really chill guy to chat with and he was super sweet throughout the whole process. All in all, the shop was spotless, friendly, and just top tier. Can't recommend them enough, so definitely check out their portfolio.

Everything about Black Widow is top-notch; the shop manager Jackson is a pleasure to deal with, and my tattoo artist Jeremy is really chill and super talented. The price is probably more than your typical tattoo shop, but it's definitely worth it (they could low key charge more, just don't please lmao). I feel completely comfortable and confident giving my design idea to Jeremy, and letting him take it to the finish line in his own style—he kills it every time. Although I'm pretty new when it comes to getting ink, Jeremy works really fast from what I can tell, and without sacrificing any quality. I almost fell asleep both times I was on the chair it was that relaxing haha. If it's your first time, and you want a pleasant first experience, reach Black Widow. If you already have a lot and are looking for a great new artist, reach Black Widow as well.

I don’t even know where to begin, but I’ll start with Jackson, who’s the shop manager. He was extremely attentive, on point with communication and professional. He reached out to me and responded to all my needs, before appointing me to my tattoo artist Guido. I had a consultation with my tattoo artist prior to my appointment, which was really helpful! On the day of my arrival, i was really nervous (first tattoo) but was in for a pleasant surprise. Greeted by Jackson as soon as I walked in, then was introduced to my artist. Guido walked me through the whole process and made sure I was comfortable. We spent more than an hour just talking about the tattoo and making sure to get the tattoo placement correctly. I really appreciated this because he gave me a lot of great advice along the process before getting to our final placement and sizing. We also had the final placement vetted by another artist, which was reassuring. Fast forward to the tattoo being completed, I absolutely love it and it’s perfect. Healing process took less than 2 weeks for me and no redo is required. I also had Jackson follow up with me to make sure I was doing well and there were no concerns. All in all, there’s no other place I would recommend for your tattoo than Black Widow Tattoo. Thank you Jackson and Guido. I’ll be back for all of my future tattoos :)

I first inquired with Jackson, and he took the time to ask about my ideas for my tattoos then connected me with Jazz. I got my tattoos on Friday, and she was again very thorough to ensure the placement of the tattoos was perfect. Pre-Covid; When I broached the subject of my somewhat wacky concept; Jackson was very prompt and cordial about updating me on the roller coaster that was the changing of gov't guidelines. I feel it is redundant to extol the virtues of Vince’s skills, but what I find noteworthy is however his friendly nature, upon each visit I felt like I was hanging out with my buddy which certainly accelerated the passage of time, and I felt very comfortable. Nobody slouched regarding being quite likeable. Vince did an exceptional job of translating from my mind's eye via my references and meanderings to something I’m SO happy with. Additionally, steering me and cautioning about ideas that may translate well in the context of a tattoo, namely palette choices and positioning which I hadn't given a lot of thought. The only thing I'd be critical of, was feeling left in the dark regarding the pricing model, not knowing the breakdown in a receipt for instance, e.g. hiring a contractor to build a deck and not knowing the cost of labor, material etc. and *drum roll* here's today's session cost. However, it wasn’t such a radical departure of what I had anticipated. Overall, a wonderful experience, thank you so much.

Thanks to my tattoo artist Chino, not only was the art great but he also did it in a way that the healing is going seamlessly. I read online of what should have happened to my tattoo (the first week involves redness, swelling, soreness, etc) but for me none of that stuff is really minimal. Absolutely loved my experience here! This was my first tattoo, and I was nervous coming in, but I left confident and so excited and happy about my new ink. They were very thorough and supportive, and walked me through the whole process throughout the experience. The whole process took a bit longer than I had expected, so make sure you have nothing going on that you might miss if your session runs a couple hours late like mine did, but the final product was so worth it, and the attention to detail was beyond amazing, so 5 stars still. Overall, super professional, kind, and supportive, and I’m so happy I came here! Honestly, I’m still thinking about this place days after, and have already started thinking about the next piece I want to get done here, because I couldn’t possibly want to go anywhere else. Everyone there was so nice and excited for me, but my artist Jazz was so warm, didn’t mind my awkwardness at all, and absolutely made the experience. (Thank you Jazz, for everything! Still absolutely loving the piece!)

From my initial inquiry to the consultation and through out the whole process the whole staff were nothing but awesome. My tattoo artist was Chino who I highly recommend to anyone. He's a really cool dude! extremely talented and professional. Just an overall great guy! I was getting a Biomechanical half sleeve tattoo. A fairly big tattoo with lots of detail. The first thing that stood out about Chino was he was the only artist I consulted with that was not only confident he could do it but genuinely excited about doing it. He loved the Idea and wasn't looking to change anything about it. Like I said I was a rookie and was nervous about doing it but his excitement for it got me excited for it. He Answered all my questions and never made me feel dumb for asking. I had three appointments that were each 4 hours long. He has a really nice clean setup. A comfortable chair and a TV with Netflix to watch which was great because I couldn't imagine sitting there for that long with nothing. Another great thing about Chino was he is certainly a straight up honest dude. I certainly felt he could have charged me for another hour in each of the first two sessions. I was there for closer to 5 hours each time but of course there are breaks and what not but as mentioned with it being my first tattoo I had no Idea so he could have charged me the extra hour and I wouldn't have given it any thought but that speaks to how great and professional of a tattoo artist he is. As for the tattoo, It came out great! He did an amazing job! I was very happy with it! Overall my experience at Black Widow was amazing! I would highly highly recommend Black Widow Tattoo to anyone and everyone looking to get a Tattoo done. I can only speak to how great Chino was but I have no doubt that every artist there is top notch and they have an artist for any Idea and they all would absolutely kill it! I will certainly being going back to Black Widow. They are worth every Penny and worth the wait as well!

This is a shop with depth in every way. While so many shops feel blank and hollow inside Black Widow feels the exact opposite. Shop manager Jackson is fully present with everyone who comes through the door - no one is made to feel they are taking him away from something more important or that they're not welcome. The shop is immaculate and there is a relaxed confidence among all the staff I crossed paths with - these are guys who've put in their time and mastered their craft, live in that knowledge and have no need for posturing. They're all doing incredible work. I sat for Rosario this past week after months of scrolling through his instagram (@thewolfrosario) trying to choose which piece to get first. From first inquiry into a piece to booking to sitting the whole process was handled professionally, enthusiastically and efficiently. Rosario knows what he's doing and he does it exceptionally (seriously, check out his instagram) and the finished piece is the best work I've seen. My other tattoos are now jealous of this one. The lines are impossibly perfect as was the good humour and conversation throughout the session. I thought I knew film! I can't wait to book again. The client experience here is next level.

Overall great experience for getting my first tattoo. The studio was very accommodative that I was travelling for the tattoo and set up an over the phone consultation. Katt took my concept and made into a timeless piece that was better than I had imagined. Clean and professional atmosphere within the studio. Best Tattoo experience ever! This place is the Ritz Carlton of Tattoo shops and everything was first class from the consultation all the way to the post tattoo follow up. I would highly recommend Chino if you are looking for a Chicano/west coast tattoo style as he is better than some of the top artists I've seen in Los Angeles.

After long and thought-through research on artists in Ontario, I found Black Widow to be a great fit for the tattoo I had in mind. I was contacted by Jackson (shop manager) who helped guide me to the best artist fit from the shop in a timely and carefully thought manner. Even from the consult, I could tell how excited he was about this design and that he really cared about what I truly wanted. After looking into a handful of shops and emailing a select few, I ended up deciding on Black Widow Tattoo. My first impression of the shop when I arrived was that it was modern, cool, professional, and clean. The artist recommended to me (Aiko) was super helpful in finalizing the details of my tattoo, while offering insight to help perfect what I had envisioned for the tattoo. To top it off, she was super friendly and we had a nice chat throughout the tattooing session. In the end, my tattoo turned out exactly how I wanted, and I was extremely happy with the experience/process. Having already had a previous experience getting a tattoo at another spot in Toronto, I have to say that Black Widow Tattoo is such an awesome shop that is well-deserving of high praise.
