What a great place!! If you want any kind of tattoo big or small, this is the only place to go. I was discouraged when I walked into Redemption Tattoo because the other places I had checked out were rude and degrading to me. It was as if I wasn't cool because I am not covering my body with ink. I told Josh at Redemption about my experience and he was the EXACT OPPOSITE!! He took the time and creative license to make my tattoo perfect and he was really nice, professional, and as gentle as you can get for a tattoo. Its also really important to me that I point this out: he quoted my tattoo at $230 but when it was done faster than he expected he only charged me $160. Fact is, he coulda just said "$230 please" and I would have been none the wiser. It's rare, comforting, and VERY respectable, to be honest like that! Josh was the very talented artist who worked on me, but a few others were there and they were all really friendly and professional.

I've gotten quite a few tattoos in my life. Never have I met such a responsible and professional artist such as Mike Shea. Not to take away from his amazing artistic abilities, but his communication to setup an appointment and then to follow through with having the artwork ready for the appointment is huge. Sounds crazy but the majority of tattoo artist I have dealt with blow you off for appointments, aren't ready when you show up, or just ignore your emails and phone calls all together. I'm excited I have found Mike and cant wait to continue working with him on my next tattoo.

I had one of the most exceptional experiences at Redemption Tattoo. I met with artist Ben Thompson, with only a loose sketch, an image, and some ideas and he brought the perfect depiction to life. Using an app on his ipad we were able to both edit my original drawing to be exactly what I wanted, and see an example of what it would actually look like on my arm! Talk about going above and beyond, and smartly using ones available resources. The during process of being tattooed was thoughtful as well. We stopped at certain points to see where more layers of depth were required and to get feedback on exactly what I wanted. Ben is a very awesome person, and an exceptional artist to work with. I couldn't be happier with my tattoo!

First time getting a tattoo and the staff here were amazing! Met with Mike the owner, on a walk-in, and he was professional, kind, and walked me through the whole process. Easing some of those pre-tattoo jitters. He kept me talking and distracted and turns out we grew up in the same town in NH. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tattoo!! Oh and the tattoo came out great :)

Fantastic tattoo, but a bit pricier than I would have liked. Totally worth the cost though. The tattoo pictures was $500 on top of the deposit I had to make for the appointment. Extremely satisfied with the work though, don't get me wrong.

Love it! My friend and I walked in on Sunday and were greeted immediately by the adorable shop dog (literally). We did not have an appointment but Roger and the owner, Craig, hopped right to it to see what we wanted and began sketches (with various options for both of our designs) and tattooed us immediately. Our designs were incredibly simple but we knew what we wanted and they both did great work, were friendly and easy to work with. Overall it was a very easy process and I'll definitely be back.

Considering my last tat was done over 10 years ago, im in my mid 30's, and i want to get a few more pieces, i was on the hunt for my new ink home! Finding a quality, friendly, tattoo shop filled with so much talent is usually very difficult! FYI people tattoos are not like buying bags on sale at TJ MAxx.They are works of art and forever!!! Repeat after me F-O-R-E-V-E-R! If the prices are super low your going to get super low quality work, When it comes to ink You definitely get what you pay for and price really does make a HUGE difference in quality. I went to a few other places in Allston where I feel as though I was not taken care of on mu hunt for the right shop. Through searching I found Redemption,checked out some portfolios, and was very impressed with the talent in this shop! I called up and Phil was super helpfull in getting me an appointment with Mike. I was nervous considering it was my first tat in over 10 years! Everyone was super nice, funny, friendly, and Mike did an amazing job and gave me exactly what I was looking for but wayyy better! Prices are definitely reasonable especially considering the level of quality work you will get there!! Already booked for my next , and biggest tat, not nervous at all bc I know I will be totally taken care of by everyone over at Redemption!!! Thanks so much for blowing my mind w/ your skillz Mike!!! My experience here was excellent! Will did mine. I had a tattoo done with no color that was placed with such precision that the healing had very little peeling and the art was perfect! The tattoo was a huge piece, Will made it seem effortless! I strongly recommend redemption tattoo for any work you're having done in the Shreveport bossier area!

Adam is extremely extremely talented and professional. I booked with him for three sessions six months in advance for a half sleeve and it was well worth it. He knew exactly what I was looking for and added his creative brain to make an exceptional end result that was even better than I could've imagined. There is a reason he is booked so far out. I highly recommend Adam. I am heading back to him for a cover-up of an old tattoo as well and I can't wait. Redemption is also super clean and everyone is very nice there as well. I don't think I could've had a better experience.

I recently had a tattoo done by Erick; if you're reading these reviews to decide where to get your work done stop your search this is where to go. After going here I will never get work done anywhere else. Lets start with the cleanliness - this place was cleaner than some hospitals I've been in and it was clear that this wasn't a COVID practice but this was the standard that they expected. I was also impressed with the professionalism not only by Erick but by all of the employees. It was clear that everyone was passionate about the work they did and took pride in it. Seasoned tattoo vet or someone coming in for first time work Erick treats everyone the same. He was running a few minutes behind but it was clear that it was only because he refuses to deliver anything but a perfect product, it showed when he started working on my tattoo. He took his time and meticulously worked. Lastly if you're not already sold his work speaks for itself; I went in with an idea of what I wanted and he by far exceeded the expectations I came in with. I would recommend anyone looking for work to go here, you would be doing yourself a disservice going anywhere else.

Absolutely ridiculous pricing! Quoted $150 up for simple trace tattoo of the word faith, 6" long, black only. They must only want to do big pieces. VERY DISAPPOINTING and a waste of a drive that they could have quoted over the phone.

Recently had 2 pieces done by Mike Shea (co-owner) and I don't think there are enough kind words out there, to say about Mike and the studio. Mike was warm/ welcoming. Other artists that were present, while I was there for both my consultation and actual appointment, made me feel very comfortable. Space was extremely clean and organized. Once you're there, it's clear how high "professionalism" and "service" are ranked, as far as studio values. Mike is an exceptionally talented artist and tattooist - I actually came to Mike with artwork and he did an outstanding job bringing it to life. He's also a great conversationalist so it made the time fly! Would highly, HIGHLY, recommend Mike and really everyone at Redemption. Will be going back for my next couple of pieces!

I found Deirdre's name in my search so I made an appointment for an in-person consultation at redemption tattoo. The vibe at redemption tattoo is very chill and the artists there are all very talented. As soon as I met Deirdre I got a great vibe from her. She listened to my idea, asked questions that showed she was invested in creating the perfect tattoo, and gave me a lot of information for my first tattoo! My tattoo was small and only wording, so she was able to schedule me soon after the consultation appointment. The communication leading up to the appointment was great. The day of my appointment I was super nervous, but she was calm so it helped me be calm. I loved every aspect of the process beginning to end. My tattoo came out perfectly and Deirdre was available if I had any questions through the healing process. She is not heavy handed so the tattoo didn't hurt, and it helped with the healing process since the skin wasn't so damaged. Also, she uses vegan ink which was super important to me. I am thinking about getting another tattoo and I will not go to anyone else but Dierdre!
