I booked an Appointment with them and they are not at all interested to do my tattoo which was a small one and they claim that it will take more time and they want me to come another day......The receptionist was too inattentive and rude infact but the artist was too Good and Polite...Never been to such a bad place.

Going to be honest here I have not been to Power House, but they now have an artist I have been to. Genny I saw her before she joined the Power House Team she did some work on a friend of mine at another shop. When she was done I saw her lines were clean crisp she captured what my friend wanted in a style she wanted. I decided to let her have a go at one for me which was a Pirate/Mermaid I gave her the concept of what I wanted where on me I wanted it and let her design it. She called me with a design few weeks later with design done. At that time she was a fairly new artist but she ROCKED THE DESIGN ON PAPER. Now question was because this was a big piece should I go for it I took some time visited her a couple of times and saw some actual work she did on other customers there. I made the appointments was a 2 session work and I wasn't disappointed she nailed it. I have had other people see my tatts and and have them tell me they like hers best and some of the artists who did the others are extremely well respected and seasoned. Genny has my admiration and respect as an artist and a creative one too I have no reservation going back to her or recommending her to anyone. Give her a shot go in with your concept but LET HER BE THE ARTIST NOT YOU THAT'S WHAT SHE GETS PAID FOR give her your ideas pictures whatever let her go to work you won't be disappointed. I gave it 4 stars because I haven't been to Power House once I go I am sure I will edit review to 5 stars with Genny there.

This is an awesome place to get tattooed. The artists are extremely talented and will try their best to make your design/experience perfect. The studio is kept extremely clean. The parking isn’t ideal and kind of hard to find, but once you do the studio is easy to find! The only thing that bothered me about going was that some of the artists came across as unfriendly and short. They didn’t want to talk too much and didn’t sound friendly.

First, I would like to say that I don’t leave reviews; unless my experience was incredibly horrible or if a business went over and above what was ever expected. Powerhouse did that and more. It took me a long time to commit to a memorial sleeve for my son that was tragically killed. I had an idea of what I wanted but I had no idea how to put it together. When I reached out to powerhouse, I wasn’t treated like any customer, I was treated like a mom who had lost a son and wanted to create something special in memory of him. I was told that grove was honoured to make this happen. See, I was supposed to be taking my son on his 19th bday to add to his sleeve. He was killed an hour after his last tattoo. I expressed how important it was that I needed to have this tattoo around his birthday. For him and for me. I want told that the next appointment was 2.5 months after my sons birthday. They would see what they could do. I understand it’s a business and I didn’t expect anything. Powerhouse messaged me a week later and told me they would do it that week. They opened up for me. For my tattoo. My tattoo for my son. They opened up on a day off and spent 6 hours helping me create something so special. They did so much more than give me a tattoo. They gave me a a piece of healing as I dealt with not having my son here with me on his first birthday since his death. Instead, on that day, I was able to look down at the hands that I held when my son died and remember the boy that changed my life. Thank you Powerhouse. You are not just a tattoo shop. You are a place of beautiful people helping give people like myself healing during a very difficult time. Grove and his wife were amazing and it was the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. This was my Fifth tattoo, but my first time with Powerhouse, and I csnt imagine ever going anywhere else. Thank you To grove and Jaynie. We need more people like you in this world. Xoxo

I do not leave reviews often, or at all. But being as this was the most horrible customer service experience I have ever had, anywhere. I felt the need to warn others. I was recommended to go to Powerhouse for my first tattoo, a gaming one. My consultation experience was not a pleasant one. The "artist" I spoke to, she was quite rude with very poor customer service and interaction skills. Within the first 5 seconds of speaking with Genevieve, I knew I would not like her. When she approached to consult with me, she didn't even say hi. I had to start the conversation first. I mentioned I'm there for a consultation for my first tattoo. The response I got from Genevieve was a curt "hi" followed by "well we're very busy" ok… So I showed her a design I had sketched up on a standard sheet of paper. The design will be going along my entire upper back. So clearly… it's not going to be the size drawn on the page. She takes a glance at it and pretty much craps on my design. Saying "it's not possible, it's too small, there's too much detail and will blob together" She even said "I don't even know how long that would take to do" and kept shaking her head. She didn't even bother to try to work with it or give any other suggestions for the design other than saying it will have to be significantly bigger and will have to be much larger than my back so it won't fit and won't work. "Think of something else" (exact words) Which I found very rude since tattoos are a personal thing and my design is very personal to me. Yet she is telling me to do something completely different and not even my style. At this point, she showed me a Mass Effect picture she designed of Shepard as an example of something different to do. I looked at her drawing and said "oh man that's cool" because it was a nice piece. She responded with a quick "well it's already sold" ok… it was just a compliment on her work? I didn't even want it or hinted that I did. I left there pretty discouraged, as that was a very disappointing experience for my first consultation. Genevieve is very rude and not personable at all and made me feel uncomfortable. I then started asking around, talking to different people I see with tattoos and different artists. I've talked to at least a dozen people. Almost all of which had multiple and very detailed/intricate tattoos, even more detailed than what I want. After showing them my design and explaining my experience at Powerhouse, they all pretty much said that Genevieve is just a poor artist and what she says is garbage and untrue. I emailed another tattoo artist and explained everything to him. He even said that he doesn't see why my design should be much larger than my back and states "It is totally possible to get done." So I finally booked another consultation at another place (a REAL tattoo parlour with REAL artists) and they are all AMAZING! Everyone was super friendly and gave warm welcomes. They all actually cared and it shows. The artist (a real artist) I consulted with was extremely friendly and very happy to be working with me. He took time to look at the design, plan out how it would work and then said to me "Let's make this work!" He measured out my back/shoulders to see if everything would fit, and it would. He assured me that it is all completely doable. He even suggested what could be changed/added if I so choose. He was concerned with how I felt, what I thought and what I wanted. I then explained to him about my first consultation since I felt leery/nervous about this one. He was absolutely shocked and felt the need to apologize (a few times) that I had to experience such poor customer service and behaviour at Powerhouse. I would not recommend Powerhouse to anybody. Save yourself time and money. Do not go there.

Had a session with Libby and couldn't be more impressed. I've sat through my share of tattoos and this one of the best experiences I've had. Libby did a great drawing, and when I asked if she could adjust it, she did it no problem and it was also great. The shop is immaculate and everybody was super friendly. Art was a 10, shop was a 10, artist was a 10+++. Would definitely recommend.

What can I say about Libbie, other than she's absolutely fantastic. I walked in, gave no notice, and only had a concept of what I wanted.... I was expecting her to tell me she needed more notice or that I don't have enough of an idea of what I wanted. Instead, she took the challenge head on and drew up an AWESOME tattoo. I walked out, same day, with the tattoo I envisioned and happier than a pig in MUD. This girl is FANTASTIC! You want a tattoo, go see Libbie. Period.

I had reached out on Instagram to discuss my ideas and he was prompt to reply in a friendly and professional manner. He listened to my requests exactly (NO DOTS!) and knocked the designs out of the ballpark. When I went for my appointment he was extremely welcoming and friendly. He took the time to listen to my placement and size requests and made sure I was 100% happy with it all before he put any ink on my body. The entire experience was stellar, start to finish, and I will definitely be returning for more! 10/10 should go see Phil folks!

Then stopped to text on his cell phone and continued the tattoo without changing his gloves. Then answered the business phone and continued the tattoo without changing his gloves. Went in to get a quote on a clear crisp custom-made design (5 x 3 inches), the person who consulted me shredded the design into pieces. The design was basically a heart with music notes and 3 line lyrics that was easily legible. The consultant said it was impossible to get it tattoo'd, alternating the entire design with BIGGER letters, and letters alone would cost $150. The end result, 3 hours of inking and a total of $300? NO THANKS! I got my 13 x 5 inches tattoo on my thigh for $280. What a rip off and unprofessional consultation, let alone NO PARKING AVAILABLE.

My daughter who is 18 did her research as she wanted a tattoo. She chose powerhouse and went last year post 1st covid re opening with Inez. She went and got her tattoo and inez asked her if she wanted it shaded now or if she wanted her come back another time,my daughter said she would come back another time. Inez failed to menton at that time my daughter would have to pay more money which i didnt think was professional at all and she took advantage of an 18 year old girl. My daughter went back today for the shading which took 25 min,i know this cause i sat in my car waiting for her and she was charged the shop minimum,80 dollers..again, i didnt think the shading she did which my daughter showed me a picture of they took before wrapping was worth 80 dollers and on inez's part, was again, unprofessional, we will not be recommending or coming back to powerhouse. Unsatisfied customer.

I manage a tattoo shop and am also a tattoo artist. while checking out the tattoo scene I checked this shop out. It was disgusting all clients had their shoes off and the floors were disgusting I also experienced horrible customer service. The art itself, I cannot speak on due to the fact that the service was so poor. However with the lack of heigiene and cleanliness I would not even consider getting a tattoo here. I left disgusted. I just had my first experience at Powerhouse Tattoos and it was awesome. The atmosphere was very relaxed and non-intimidating, the shop is clean and the staff are friendly. I got my tattoo done by Libby and she was amazing to sit for. Her drawing came out better than I could have hoped, and she was so careful and thoughtful while working. Best place to go!

Had my tattoo done in Feb 2020. Before Covid was an issue. Recommended by my partner who lives his tattoo by the owner. My style is very different though, so I brought a sketch (full detail and colour), an image of a few similar tattoos and a picture of each flower to be included and I asked them to direct me to the right artist. I was given to Inez, who immediately told me she would not pro ide me a sketch before the appointment. I should have walked at that point. But, I didn't know and thought I just needed to trust the process. After being rescheduled once, I waited over an hour to get a sketch. Which I thought was kind of simple and wasn't sure about, but I figured she just hadn't had time to get in the details. Those details never came. After asking repeatedly for the image to be smaller because something felt wrong when it was placed on me I was told it couldn't be made smaller and basically had to proceed or leave. So I went ahead. It felt rushed to do the black and colour the same day, and it hurt to have the colour added to areas where black had been done earlier. You can see the rush in the crooked lines. The proportions are wrong, the flowers are very simply shaded blobs and almost 2 years later, I try not to talk about it. Other people like it I guess. I unfortunately can't reconcile the amount it would cost to remove and can't see how to fix it. Trust your instinct and require a sketch before!
