Feb 19 Double helix piercing I just got my ear piercing and man the experience is great. specially with jason explaining all the details that i need to know. Im glad i came here and would be back for my ear lobes next time. Feb 23 Swollen Cartilage Piercing Yes it get swollen, one it is my fault of cleaning it hard and flipping the ear forward so i can see in the mirror. There is a lot of dried blood so i want to clean it but it got swollen. Feb 27 Earring sinking, white stuff oozing Thank god it is not infected, the white stuff oozing doesn't have a foul smell. but one problem is the earring is sinking and i need help urgently, sadly when i asked Jason it is sunday and it is a day for him to spend time with his family ( which i understand and will do the same if im in his shoes ) . The shop is close on sunday and monday tho. Feb 28 Talked to Jason about the ear piercing oozing white stuff and the earring is sinking, difinitely need a new longer post to adjust the ear piercing swelling. Jason agreed to see me on monday which is his day off and im thankful for it. March 1 Jason replaced the labret posts to a longer one to accommodate the swelling and i decided to get a new earring as well. Now the ear piercing is in healing process thank god it is not infected and just have a mild swelling and some white stuff oozing which is normal for a healing piercing. I want to thank Jason for doing the replacement post and just a note for other people that will come here, don't worry about the price of the service as the price might be high but the piercer will back you up no matter what happens.

And as im asking for a nose pierced she says she has to leave bcuz a friend is coming to visit her from out of town! Why are you still there if u cant work??? Very happy with my very first piercing experience at the studio. I was pierced by Kelsi who was extremely professional, hygienic, and comforting, especially knowing that it was my first piercing. I was admittedly a bit nervous and preferred to lay down for the piercing, they even provided me a cold ice pack to help with my comfort to lower my nerves. Kelsi also went through step by step of what they were going to do, why things needed to be done a certain way and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend getting pierced by Kelsi to anyone :)

I was deeply disappointed, I called ahead to make a appointment and I was quoied one price on the phone for 2 piercings and when I got there they disnt do the one and they nose pierced was125 bucks then I went to pay and then I was told I could get the other pierced and that price doubled too. I just started stretching my earlobes and had progressed a few sizes on my own before visiting the shop and am wishing I had gone in earlier. I was doing everything wrong but J didn't say anything negative at all, instead offering advice, information and suggestions on product and jewellery. Great customer service although I had just gotten my tongue pierced last saturday at 545 and by the next morning it was infected. Then by today (monday) I had to take it out due to so much swelling I couldn't even swallow water. The underneath of my piercing was so far back it was pushing so much on the webbing of my tongue. I visited Piercings by J today to get my navel pierced as well as get some advice on a nose piercing of mine that wasn't healing quite right, and I was pierced by the lovely Alicia Lowe, as opposed to Jason. The navel piercing turned out amazing! Alicia took as much time as she needed in order to find the PERFECT placement that would enable my piercing to heal as effectively as possible, as well as just look good with my body type. She gives true and honest advice, meaning that she will never let you leave with a piercing that she knows isn't placed properly or will be prone to cause issues. She is also an absolute sweetheart and made me so so so comfortable! In terms of asking her advice on my nose piercing, the girl really knows her stuff! She asked me all kinds of questions to figure out where the problem was and gave me great advice on how to deal with it. I also got her to change my septum ring for me which was quick and relatively painless. Overall to get my navel + new septum ring+ jewelry change + cleaning spray + adding a captive bead to my nose ring only cost $145, which I though was amazing (navel itself being about $100)! I know that $100 is a little pricey for a piercing but they take such care in the piercing process and they give you jewelry that can trust, and as a person who has been pierced at some sketchy cheap places, I can definitely say it is worth the price to go to J and Alicia. Alicia cares so much about her customers that she asks that within the first month of healing you come get check ups so that she can make sure everything is healing well. Sorry for such the lengthy review, I'm just blown away by the amazing service I got! 100% the best piercing experience I have ever had.

By far the best piercing experience I have had. I had my nose pierced today by Kelsi. Right from the start, Kelsi was extremely professional and she gave a warm friendly greeting as I walked in! I was feeling a little nervous (as I had a bad nose piercing experience years back) but Kelsi calmed my nerves as it was apparent that she knows what she is doing. She thoroughly walked me through the process, took time to explain in detail the aftercare, and was patient and helpful as I chose where I wanted the ring to be placed! She helped me "breathe" through the needle with a soft voice which helped the actual piercing not be so painful! Thank you Kelsi! :) Also, I spoke to Jay on the phone 2 weeks prior as he set up my appointment- He was super friendly and informative ! Thank you Jay :)

Sweet place!! Inksmith recommended I go over here as this is where their old piercer has moved - and i was not disappointed. Walked in with 2 other people ahead of me, but it didn't take very long at all. It was very clean. Instructions were clear. Price was fair (I like how u can chose the jewellery options- I went with the least expensive, making the cost comparable to everywhere else in town). I like how he showed me the needle before and after it went into the autoclave. J is hilarious and I love his personality. He is very sarcastic and straight up- my kinda people lol. But i suppose not for everyone. If you are a touchy type maybe you would not appreciate it. Only downfall is not being able to use your phone, however I completely understand the reasoning behind it, and agree it is for the best, for everyone. I will definitely be going back for more soon.

I would gladly drive the hour to Guelph from my house to receive a piercing here. It does take a while to sterilize jewellery but that is what you should want to ensure it is done properly and you will not be receiving any diseases, the risk of infection will also be lower. The shop in itself is unique, decorations are reflective of their artists which makes the space more inviting. When you go to ink smith and receive piercings by j you are ensuring that you are being pierced by a professional that loves what you do. If you want somewhere more "clean looking and bright" travel to a chain tattoo shop where you will receive average at best piercings by people who are not passionate about their work. Compared to places such as Stigmata or Perfect Image I found the price very reasonable with the option of custom pieces you would not be able to get at other shops. I have recommended people to get piercings by J and I will continue to. Before receiving any body modification you should do your own research so if there is something that seems wrong you will be able to question the piercing artist and receive better services. This is my favourite shop to receive piercings in and I will continue to go to them for any piercings I want in the future.

J PAYS PEOPLE TO WRITE FAKE REVIEWS about his shop so he can gain customers. $200 for 2 ear lobe piercings! One of them was crooked and I had to take it out . i wasnt aware of this expensive price until afterwards. My girlfriend and I spent almost 2 hours getting these piercings while the shop was completely empty. Normally if you get a crooked piercings you should be reimbursed in some way but I have not been reimbursed. Go to the of the more experienced piercing places , it will be less costly and you will be much more satisfied !

Unfortunately, I had an awful experience. That included the customer service, the piercing and the checking out. I did not deal with J, but with Alex, who should have been accompanied with another employee seeing he seemed a little stressed and overwhelmed with 2 clients (the one girl who was booked ahead of me and I) who simply wanted a single piercing done. When it came my turn and once I had been pierced, Alex had admitted that he did not take into consideration of the ring bead, so I had no choice but to have the bead hiding behind my ear instead of showing like I had asked prior to the procedure. The ring had felt snug, but because of the lack of experience I had with cartilage piercings, I trusted Alex. Finally when it was time to checkout, my total came to $94.75. That included the procedure, the earring, the aftercare spray and tip. I realized that Alex had forgotten to give me the aftercare spray so I kindly reminded him and he apologized and added "yeah I do that a lot", okay good to know. 5 days went by and my ear began to ache and throb for a full day. It was also very red and swollen. The next day, Saturday, my ear felt and looked twice as worse. Only my skin around the earring was white, the earring was pretty well cutting my circulation. Perfect Image in Waterloo was the first tattoo & piercing parlour to open that morning. I went in and was helped immediately. The specialist there looked at my ear and without hesitating explained that my earring was TOO SMALL of a ring for the "weird" spot it was pierced in. She put in an earring a size bigger than the existing one I had. It was so painful, but what else do you do when it's so irritated and needs room to swell?! Within a day, the aching, throbbing, redness and swelling was gone. She had only charged me for the earring that came to $16. I called J's piercing to see if I could receive some kind of refund/credit for the unnecessary pain I went through. Alex came to the phone and I had asked him if he remembered me and what I had gotten pierced. Instead of looking up my account/file, he simply replied that he had vaguely remembered. So I explained how I felt and what happened. All Alex had offered was an explanation as to why my piercing had inflamed and refused to acknowledge that the earring he had picked for me was simply TOO SMALL. On another note I couldn't help but notice the large variety of jewelry at Perfect Image as well as the welcoming and cozy lounge they had to offer. However, if you are in the Guelph area, be sure to book an appointment at Nighthawk Tattoo and Gallery. My sister and her friends have gotten pierced there and had an awesome experience.

I'm a mature lady whose earlobe piercing was slightly torn many years ago. As I've gotten older, the tear is a bit longer and I hated how my earrings would hang unevenly. I thought the only solution would be to have it surgically repaired, which isnt covered by insurance. That is until a lovely young lady named Kelsi at Piercings by J, suggested repiercing both ears and bringing the piercing slightly forward on either earlobe. It was such a simple solution and I don't know why I didn't think of that years ago! Kelsi took the time to walk this old chicken through every step, always kind and caring in her approach and it's obvious she knows her profession very well. The placement of my new piercings is absolutely perfect and like they should have always been in that spot. I am so happy and excited to wear all the earrings I couldn't before!!
