Staff made me feel super comfortable. Very clean and professional.
Kelly has been the most calming and super nice!!! I'm so glad I didn't go anywhere else and waited for here. Owen also rocked in tapering my belly ring back in. I was so nervous and it was real smooth. Awesome and thank you!!!!
The Best , love everyone there.
I really wanted to get a tattoo, and I really liked one piece of flash at the shop, so I did a walk in and I got what I first thought to be a quality black and grey traditional tattoo by Rueben "Horikei" Kayden for $150. However, after unwrapping my tattoo at home and cleaning it off, I noticed that Rueben went out of the lines with his shading needle. With his liner needle, one particular curve of my tattoo was very shaky and not clean. These details perhaps are not noticeable to the average passerby, but this is on my body forever and I was very disappointed to discover these mistakes. I can not speak for the rest of the shop, and I hear their piercing is really well done, but as for their tattoos I would be weary. Do your research, and look elsewhere before you get a tattoo here.
Incredible service! Staff are super lovely.
Me and the wife got a tattoo here. The people are super nice, prices are reasonable and the work is of top quality.
I took my daughter here to get her ears pierced. Owen did the piercings and he was fantastic. He pinky-swore not to surprise her, he talked her through the whole thing, he waited for her to be ready, and the piercings turned out perfectly! It was a great experience for her!
I went because I needed help to put a piercing I had bought and it turns out you have to make an appointment for that!! The worst thing is you cannot make an appointment by internet or via phone, you have to go in person and lose all the afternoon/evening/morning until they have a free slot (3 minutes) to help you to put the piercing. Very disappointed!!!! Worst piercing shop ever!!!!
Awesome! Both Kelly and Owen were super helpful. You get a great selection of high quality piercings, amazing accuracy and professionalism, and a guaranteed great piercing. Yes, it's expensive, but for something that most people do either once or a few times in life, totally worth every penny!
Highly recommend as a source for a wide variety quality body jewelry. From "standard" earrings to very low gague earrings made of wood, stones, and metals. They have many handmade and artful styles that are stunning and priced fairly. Call ahead if you are interested in piercings as they do appointments for those and are not typically for "walk-ins".
Do u guys do lips tattoo
The employee who answered the phone on Thursday night-was absolutely rude as heck. It was hard to have a conversation with her. I had a few questions I needed answered before my visit. Which I did not get...FIRST IMPRESSION LAST IMPRESSION will not get my business. Thank you
The wait was terrible but it was worth it. This is definitely the best place to get pierced I highly recommend coming here Owen is AMAZING makes you feel calm if your nervous he definitely knows what he's doing if your gonna get a piercing this is the place to go
I'd been trying, unsuccessfully, for a few weeks to walk in and get my ears pierced before I finally decided to just make an appointment, since I was there anyway. Got a slot the next day and boom, in and out in 30 minutes. The piercer, Owen, was a really friendly guy who talked me through every step without being condescending and was just all around accommodating throughout. All in all, I definitely recommend Chameleon for piercings, but also take the time to go ahead of time and make an appointment because they seem to be way too busy for walk-ins.
My nose ring fell out so I had to buy a new one. I'd never changed one and they won't touch anything under the mask. The woman helping me asked Owen, their awesome piercer, to walk me through what I had to do and thank goodness he did. I never would have been able to get the new post on without his tips! They have a good selection of jewelry and when I had gotten my nose pierced a while back Owen told me everything he was going to do and what to expect. He has the perfect temperament to put people at ease.
The way they conduct business in regards to piercings just doesn't make any sense. They're first come first serve and the wait time is always roughly 2 hours. The first time I went was a Friday evening so that's really understandable. The second time was a Tuesday evening and the guy told me that evenings were always busy and to come back another day at noon. I tried that and the next available time was still 2p. They don't let you call to put your name down either, you have to physically go there (leave and then come back at your time). When asked the reason behind this policy I was told it was because having appointments is stressful for them. What about the stress of the customers? Some people actually like to have a schedule / don't have hours to kill and not everyone lives around the corner.
Great staff, but overpriced work. I go there for all of my piercings, but will not go back for additional tattoos.
A little pricey, but good quality.
I have gotten three piercings from James (nostril and two cartilage) and I cannot say enough good things. He is so thorough and gentle and explains everything so well. My cartilage became infected from accidentally sleeping on it and they were able to squeeze me in to change the backings for free and it’s healing up so well. The ladies at the front are so helpful and sweet. Will definitely be coming back to Chameleon for all my future piercings.
My daughter had her ears by Owen, who was very knowledgable and professional. Would definitely come back innthe future.
My experience at Chameleon was excellent. I got a nostril piercing. I was informed at every step of the piercing process from hygiene to actual piercing procedure. The technician thoroughly educated me on care for my piercing and answered all my questions. The piercing was perfectly placed and it has felt great since then. They made me feel comfortable and relaxed about the whole experience. No complaints! I would go back again!
Do not recommend this store had no empathy towards its costumers. I wanted to buy one T.ring and they’re going to tell me they don’t do anything under the mask, so I said I know what I want I just want to buy the ring and leave but they couldn’t do that. That sound stupid to me.
Half of my piercing fell out and needed an emergency earring. Store is listed as open, arrived to a closed store and the person running the tattoo shop didn’t even have the keys to the piercing side to purchase an earring. What a garbage place. Post your hours or closures on your website. Never coming here again. Woman managing was arrogant.
Great artists relaxed atmosphere loved it!
I get my piercings done here! super clean and professional
Owen is great! So kind, informed, and calming.
I visited on a Saturday to ask about reopening my earlobe piercings, luckily they receive walk-ins on Saturday so I didn't have to make an appointment for a different day. I had gotten my ears pierced very young and admittedly my old holes were pretty askew, so James made sure that this time my earlobes we're pierced as symmetrically as possible. The whole experience, from me walking in to me walking out with my ears pierced and a bottle of saline solution to clean them with was less than 20 minutes. I had been putting off getting my ears re-pierced because whenever I tried to do that before they always got red, swollen and ultimately infected. This has not been the case after getting pierced at Chameleon, I would definitely recommend!
Just got a piercing here and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Owen really knew what he was doing and made me feel wicked comfortable throughout the whole process. 10/10 would recommend
I've been going to Mike for several of my tattoos. The whole place is super professional and clean, but without being super intimidating. Everyone that works there is super approachable! Prices are good and so is the ink, I recommend to all my friends.
I've gotten many of my pericings done at chameleon and they do a great job every time. Although you do have to book over the phone, the staff is knowledgeable, patient, and happy to answer my many questions.
James did an amazing job piercing my ears and walking through the process and aftercare. It was a quick, painless experience and I would definitely recommend!
Need a piercing? This is the place and Owen Beane is the man to do the job! Owen has tons of experience, skill, and excellent bedside manners. He pierced my daughter's ears on her 10th birthday, was calm and patient, providing clear and complete explanation of how to take care of the piercing. Don't go anywhere else for your piercing needs!
Such a great place for piercings and tattoos! I've been shopping at Chameleon for ear plugs for about 5 years. One of the reason I love coming here is because the staff are remarkably friendly and helpful when it comes to selecting the right material, the right size, and what is safest for you. Being a somewhat regular customer, Chameleon keeps me in the know when new plugs in my size are in, which is so great! This kindness and attention to detail is a huge factor for why I chose to go to them for my first tattoo. Having had piercings for thr last decade, I'd been thinking about a tattoo for almost as long - even the design of my first tattoo was pretty much the same. But I had cold feet. When I finally decided to act, I did a ton of research and met with artists at different stores one on one. Many times I felt uncomfortable for one reason or other but when I went to Chameleon they helped me find an excellent and experienced artist who was down to earth, friendly, and just an all around cool dude (thanks again Marcus!). I don't know when I'll get my next tattoo, but it will be with Chameleon. Until then, I'll be in and out for new plugs every once in a while.
I've been DYING to remove my belly button ring (My taste changed) and after like 10 youtube videos, thought I should leave it to the professionals. I happened to be in the neighborhood and just stopped in. This is actually where I got my bb pierced a million years ago so I remembered where it was. I went in, they were super helpful, someone learning the ropes observed which made me feel helpful, it took all of 30 seconds and they didn't even charge me! I left a generous tip, though. The guy removing my piercing asked questions, was very professional and kind, and I'd highly recommend this place to other people looking for the same service.
Awesome service, great artists!
Expensive
Good stuff!
love this store, definitely the best selection of plugs and gauges that you can find off the internet. staff is very friendly and helpful, really unique pieces.
Owen is the BEST. EVER. PERIOD. He has been my only piercer for like 20 years! And he pierced my mom and my kids? I trust him TOTALLY!
Working with Owen was amazing!
Very rude.
I got ear piercings here, but it was infected and now the earrings given can't go back in.
When it comes to piercings they are very knowledgeable in their craft.
Jared was very friendly and was careful to do the job well! (It looks amazing if you ask me♡) He made the experience of getting my first tattoo comfortable and great????
Everyone there was friendly, professional, and helpful! Owen is very kind and patient, the fact that he took the time to explain everything to me made me feel a lot less anxious about getting the piercings. Will definitely be going back! :)
I'm not exaggerating when I say don't go to any other piercing shop but this one. You will be let down. I have gotten eight piercings at four different piercing places. This one is beyond the stars in my opinion. This place used betadine as if it were a real surgery. Other places use alcohol wipes to make big margins. I'm not dumb--I know the price of betadine and the price of an alcohol wipe. The wipes don't cost more than four pennies. I wish I got more questions answered on how to clean but with great service comes many customers. Either way, this is the absolute ONLY place I will ever go again. I suggest if you actually want your money to pay for what you bought, you should do the same.
This was a fantastic place to bring my daughter (age 7) when she wanted her ears pierced. As many other reviewers have noted, Owen does a fantastic job. He had a great manner with her: calmly talked through every step with her so that there were no surprises, told her what to expect at all points and the reasons why he was doing what he was doing, answered all her questions, and constantly conveyed a positive, cheerful, and calm attitude. When one of her starter earrings fell out halfway through the healing period, we went back and he cheerfully got things sorted out and educated us about what happened and how to fix it, without making anybody feel bad or incompetent. Overall, he made the experience not only safe, but positive and celebratory for her. I was so impressed that when I wanted *my* ears pierced I just immediately went back to him. ????
Owen is an amazing professional. He made me feel amazingly comfortable, especially taking into account my tendency to pass out when I see needles, lol. I got my ear pierced and he was kind, VERY sanitary and hygienic, and helped calm me while also educating me properly about the procedure. If you want to come here during Covid, do not be scared!! The shop is only allowing one customer in at a time and they have the best sanitation methods I have seen. Great job guys!! I will always come here for my family's piercing needs and recommend them to all my friends and family.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff, expert piercers, and a great system that they have adapted well to COVID times. Good selection of jewelry. I checked out four other places nearer to me (on the North Shore) but ended up going back to Chameleon because they were BY FAR the cleanest and most organized. Prices are a little high but (A) they're in the middle of Harvard Square so of course they are, and (B) they're worth it.
While making s reservation is difficult on a regular work/school schedule (you have to be physically present) - it was WELL worth the wait. The employees and technicians were warm, inviting, informative and just GREAT. He walked me through every step and took much care in making me comfortable and aware. Thank you so much. I will be returning for more piercings.
I'm extremely pleased with how my piercing at Chameleon turned out! Sam, the piercer on Sundays, is friendly, patient, and good at his job. I got my septum pierced and with his advice on appropriate care, it's healed with no issues. It's pierced straight and looks nice. The desk staff were also very friendly and helpful when scheduling my appointment, and I'll definitely be back for all my piercing needs.
wonderful folks there.
Walked in around 330 Sunday to get my daughters ears pierced. Place was completely empty and their piercer was there eating some chow. Gave me a 2hr and 30min wait because they were busy. Blew my mind. Needless to say we left
I've now gotten seven piercings at Chameleon (five by Owen, and two by apprentice Darcy) and all of them have healed up very nicely. Owen and Darcy are both super friendly and knowledgeable, and do a great job of explaining what they are doing and what to expect throughout the process of actually getting the piercing and then while healing it afterward. Yes, I know people say the prices are expensive, but for the great quality jewelry and selection and the extremely professional, talented piercers it is definitely worth the price! I would suggest trying to go on a week day as there can be quite a wait on weekends. If you must go on the weekend, be prepared to go wander around Harvard Square for a while before returning for your appointment.
Owen is the best! So patient and kind, explaining everything to my child! No crying at all when getting ears pierced
Had a great experience with my first piercing. The staff was very enthusiastic and made me feel at ease.
Owen is amazing. He knows exactly what he is doing and loves what he does, so I felt so comfortable. Great, clean place
Amazing talent! Clean, professional, and great people :).
I have gotten a few piercings done here. They are excellent in every way. Clean, safe, they absolutely know what they are doing and how to help your body heal as best as it can, and everyone there are really just great, caring people.
Great place to get piercings. Highly recommend James, he's super cool and makes you feel comfortable
Professional, welcoming, friendly.
Nothing but praise for this place. Got my ears pierced and the man doing it was incredibly professional, courteous and nice enough to walk through each step as he did it. He also marked on my ears where he would make the hole before actually doing it, making sure that I was happy with the placement and taking due diligence to put it in a position that wouldn't cause sagging in the long run. Highly recommend for anyone and especially if you're having your kids first piercings done.
Got my first set of non-ear piercings. Owen was very professional and gave great tips and directions for aftercare. If I decide I any other piercings I will return! The space was super clean and private located in the garage at Harvard Square. Awesome spot!
I will never get a piercing anywhere else, if I can help it. Owen is the absolute best - he's very calming and professional, explains everything before he does it, and really works to make sure you're comfortable and happy with the piercings.
Had my first piercing experience here a week ago and i couldnt have asked for better! They were very knowledgable and precise, and i learned so much. Thank you Grey and Owen!
Super helpful staff and a convenient location!
James was a true professional and made the process incredibly easy and also provided me guidance for taking care of the piercing.
The Absolute best. I've gotten 4 piercings there.
I recently went to Chameleon and was pierced by Owen! He was super knowledgable and professional! He walked me step by step through what he was doing and made me feel comfortable and at ease! I highly recommend Chameleon! Best experience I have ever had with a tattoo & piercing parlor!
My experience was amazing. Great vibes, exceptionally talented artists. Sean Smith did a rib piece on me and it is better than I had dreamed.
I just got my nose pierced here. It was the best, I was a little nervous at first but the piercer was super nice and talked to me so I relaxed. It didn't hurt at all.
This place is unreal. Not only were they so understanding when I had to move my appointment last minute due to COVID/health issues, but the whole team and their energy is STELLAR! I went in about troubled piercings and WOW do they know their stuff. Owen who I met with not only made the process calm and painless, he also made it educational which I love. He knows SO much about piercings it made me want to learn more. He made sure I was all set up to go out on my own once my appointment was done, and made sure to answer all my questions before I left. He was also very honest which I also SO appreciate…not knowing if my issue would get resolved right away or not due to the trauma my piercing had endured. But explained that we would cross that road if we get there. He even helped me put an alarm in my calendar so I could call them to make a follow up at the perfect time ????. Truly the nicest, coolest, most educated people which is who you want to be piercing (and tattooing) you. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable, and especially making things so clean and efficient during COVID restrictions! Nothing went unnoticed. Truly a great place. Will be recommending to everyone!
Owen Beane is awesome and I would highly recommend him. He explained step by step of the process in doing my nipple piercing. Owen is knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. He is friendly, welcoming, and a good listener. Owen helped me by doing a breathing technique together to reduce my anxiety. Also, front desk receptionist is nice, too.
Always a good place to go for piercings
Owen does amazing work. Very expensive but his expertise is well worth it!
Love love love this place! I have gotten all of my tattoos from the past five or so years here, either from Markus or Dice. It's always been so clean, even pre COVID. The people working the front desk are always fun to chat to, and so friendly. I can't emphasize enough how much I've loved getting tattooed by both Markus and Dice. They are interesting to talk to, friendly, and just overall killer artists. I get compliments on their work all the damn time. From a cost perspective, I always feel like I'm paying a fair price for the incredible art I'm getting. Cannot emphasize enough how much I love this shop!
I don't have enough words to compliment Owen's manner and peircing technique. A gentle man with tattoos and piercings that my 9 year old daughter couldn't have been safer with or in better hands when she had her ears peirced. I wish he could clone himself and also be a pediatrician, preschool teacher, elementary school teacher and just be involved with kids at every stage of their fragile development. He's a special human being. The placing of the peircings was methodical and thoroughly explained to the nervous moms and nervous but excited kids (we went with a friend). He took his time and did an impeccable job. This is the only place you can take your precious daughter to have her ears peirced. It's expensive, a hassle to drive to and park at, difficult to get a convenient appointment, and something I would do again without hesitation. Thank you so much, Owen.
Unfortunately the industrial piercing I've got was not very well done. It's been 8 months and it still won't heal properly because it is ever so slightly not straight, so my ear is a little bent. I've end up having to remove it. A complete waste of what I think was almost $200? Sorry if any of the staff reads this I don't intend to be mean, I'm sure you guys do other piercings great. I would suggest if you want an industrial, to go somewhere lse.
I've never gotten a tattoo at Chameleon, but they've done all seven of my piercings. Owen, their head piercing artist, is one of the coolest people you'll ever meet and will walk you through the entire process from consultation to the actual needle and aftercare. Owen has done my industrial, lip ring, and gauges from piercing to 0 gauge. The process is clean, professional, sterile, and reassuring. I tell everyone to see him and I'd never dream of going anywhere else. The jewelry itself is a little on the expensive side, but the prices are *inclusive* of the piercing, so you're not paying twice for anything. Do make sure you tip your artist though, it's just polite.
Lady was rude to me about a problem I had coming in. I came in with broken jewelry and asked for help and she was condescending towards me saying that my jewelry was cheap and thats why it broke and then I spent a decent amount buying their jewelry and it broke within a week.
I've frequented this shop for well over a decade, and have been consistently impressed with them, entirely. Very clean, very skilled, pro to the core, with exquisite bedside manner. Love them so much.
They've been around forever for a reason, because they're the best.
Owen is the best piercer I've found. I keep coming back even when I'm not living in-state. His "bedside manner" is professional, informative and personable. Always open to answer any questions. I have gotten my nostril, septum, double helix, and conch done with more ear piercings to come. Would not go anywhere else, if I can help it. Highly recommend.
Owen was awesome and professional. Did my Daith piercing and it was swift and painless. Thank you
I will go no where else for piercings. They are knowledgeable and kind. My 8 year old had the best experience with them after having a not so great experience somewhere else. They are great at emailing me back and are patient and took the time to answer all my questions.
They have amazing tattoo artists!
I went to get my ears pierced and it barely hurt. James was very nice and if I go to a place again it'll probably be here. The decorations in the place are lovely and people in the front are welcoming too.
They're always so busy that every time I go i have to wait a week for the piercer. I have tried 5 times to get the same piercing changed and every time it's booked full. I understand this is normal issue, however only being able to make appointments in person sucks. I live 20 minutes away, and specifically make the trip to Harvard Sq just to get piercings changed. While i understand the in person rule, id appreciate it if there was the ability to at least book online, to give some sort of chance to see the schedule so I don't waste my time driving there. The last time I tried to make an appointment I went right at opening hours, 12 pm. The piercer wasn't doing anything, just standing in the room, and the person at the front said I had to wait until 7pm as he was booked. He literally wasn't doing anything!!!!! A piercing change literally takes 7 minutes. I don't blame the piercer, but I do blame the front desk. Also, theyre very overpriced.
I got there, they took care of me right away even though I walked in late and they were about to close. They are a little on the expensive side, though, even though I chose a small enough stud. When it was time for me to get pierced, I felt comfortable and the man was very patient with me in answering how it all works. I would recommend go there.
The artists are awesome (5 stars). The front facing website customer intake form and organizational email are completely unresponsive. But once you get through to artist - first class.
Everyone was super nice and made me feel super comfortable, got my peircing done by James, definitely highly recommend!
Nostril piercing by James James was FANTASTIC! My friend and I walked in to get our nostrils pierced, and the wait was pretty short. James was very confident yet cool and collected, which immediately put us at ease... along with his 23 years of experience. After he placed the ink dot, he very clearly explained his logic, which was great. Chameleon as a shop is very cute, too - a hidden gem.
James is one of the best piercers I’ve met!! Super friendly and knowledgeable :)) will def be coming back for more!!
This place is fantastic! Everyone is so nice, all the staff are super knowledgeable and helpful and make the whole process easy and stress free. Owen is a piercing wizard, I really can’t recommend him enough, especially for a first time piercing or if you’ve had a bad experience in the past, he is so supportive and will walk you through the whole thing. I’d give Chameleon ten stars if I could!
Well I haven't been in 7 years,I got my belly pierced, I loved the atmosphere, the people was, very nice and professional, I plan to go back there in April, I want my name tattooed on my left breast!????
Very nice store, friendly people. Clean and well-set up, too. Unfortunately, however, rife with ineptitude. I went in for a lip piercing. Everything went well until I got into the parlour proper. I explained what I wanted, and the piercer instead marked for a labret piercing. I explained that the placement seemed improper, re-explained that I wanted a lip piercing, and they assured me that this was the correct placement for one. I unfortunately allowed myself to be cowed into conceding to what I thought was expert advice. The piercing I received is not only incorrect for what I wanted, but also slightly crooked. To add to my dismay, I very nearly cracked a tooth when the cheap jewelry put in broke into several pieces whilst I was eating. In conclusion; it's a serviceable place, as long as you babysit your technician the whole way.
I only place to get a traditional Japanese tattoo using hand poke (#Tebori) ask for Reuben
Looking to find good art to cover some scars and also. Specialty cane. From jewelry and specialty shop there
I have been going to the Chameleon to get pierced since 2000. An amazing jewelry selection with very knowledgable and personable staff! Owen and Darcy are the piercers on staff and I wouldn't trust anyone else. They are the best — calm, knowledge and always happy to chat about what you'd like to do. Appointments can only be made in person; a bit challenging for those who don't live near but well worth the extra work to be pierced by those who have worked in the industry and know it inside and out. Also the Harvard Square location is super cool — lots of fun places to eat and walk around.
Went to here to get my ear pierced some months ago. The shop is setup as a two piece. One side is straight tattoos which is the main shop. Outside of the shop is the piercing place where you chat to some blond chick with some tats and glasses, and she shows you the jewelry and does a fairly decent job answering your questions. Then you pay her and go into the main part of the shop. There was a bit of a wait but it wasnt so bad I assume it's because one of the piercers (the one who did me) Owen is highly professional, takes his time, and will explain everything that you want to you. Once I got done. He gave me an aftercare sheet and explained it one more time. I cant recommend him more. Been some months now and I've had no problems with the piercing, I wish I would've got my clavs (which rejected) done by him as well as he seems very thorough. On a side note. I ended up going here finally because after trying to go to Pinot Bros twice. The piercer was never there. Though, apparently he works between this shop, Pinot Bros, and New Hampshire. I dont know how good he is, but Owen is great.
I’ve had two piercings done here! Owen recently did my bridge and it came out PERFECT! He was super informational, meticulous about the placement and made sure it was straight and that I was alright multiple times. Getting pierced was a breeze. I had my septum done by Matheo last year and it was great as well. The staff is super personable and friendly, I don’t think I’ll get pierced anywhere else. I’d trust the Chameleon staff with my life lol
Our 6 year old had her ears pierced here with Owen. What an amazing experience! We love their philosophy of education and consent. We all learned a lot and know we made the best decision to get pierced here!
The guy who pierced my ears was nice but not super friendly. He was only interested in piercing my ears and not making making me feel comfortable. My ears were also bruised for weeks after the piercing too, which never happened in other places (his hands were too harsh). The earrings are also way too expensive and over priced and my piercings kept getting infected where the ones I got at other shops healed fine.
Received very pleasant and professional service here a few weeks ago! I went in for a helix piercing, and was really happy with James. He was friendly, provided me with exactly what I was looking for, gave good advice about the piercing itself (location, etc) and about cleaning and prevention against infection etc. Loved my experience here and continue to be happy with the result.
Cool place, nice people. Sometimes a bit pricy, but still better than Stingray.
I got my earlobes pierced by Owen (my first ever!) and as someone with three tattoos, I've been in and out of a lot of Tat/Piercing shops a lot. I can say that Owen was one of the kindest, nicest, gentlest and most empathetic people I've ever worked with in my experiences with body mod! I can't *possibly* recommend this place enough. Clean, professional and kind--I don't know what more someone could ask for
Very professional and personable experience with James Rajewski! Willing to answer some of the most bold, personal questions. Will be going back for more.
The only place I'll go for my piercing needs! Josh and Owen are amazing and a wide selection of jewelry!
The guy I saw had a great bedside manner, but he also gave me uneven lobe piercings. I'd rather see someone rude who does a good job -- the piercer's behavior will stick with you for a few days, but the holes are there forever.
While I do enjoy my tattoo, the artwork is wonderful, the artists took too many artistic liberties. When i was lying face down, not looking at my tattoo, the artist began to add shading and background detail that were NOT in the sketch that I agreed to. I asked what he was doing and he admitted to having gone off book. If he had asked I would have said no. Extremely disrespectful and I have been advising against this location for first times. I know people who might appreciate what he did, but i am not one of them. He should have asked before permanently adding something to my body I did not sign off on. Ridiculous
Always the perfect balance of professional and laid back! Owen is the absolute best piercer on the planet- his favourite clients are when parents bring their kids in since it means they won't be getting pierced with guns, and it shows with how calming and encouraging he is when he pierces! The staff is fantastic at answering any and all questions without being condescending. They do go by a walk-in basis and fill up quickly after 12, but that's only because they don't want to rush the piercers, which I appreciate, it also gives more time for the client to learn about their piercing and have any and every question answered! All in all, amazing place. I got my ear lobe piercings fixed after they were botched in a mall when I was 12, and I've gotten other piercings from there ever since.
By far the best piercing place in Boston. Owen is an amazing piercer and a warm, kind human. The staff is awesome, and the jewelry selection is great.
Jorge Seested is a true artist! He is the amazing. This is my 4th tattoo with him and he always gets my "vision" of what I want and then some. I'm already working on what my next one will be!!!
Clean,Great people, Talented!!!!
I cannot thank the team at Chameleon enough for creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Hannah answered all of my questions over the phone, and chatted with me while I nervously awaited my appointment time. She and James were 100% in sync, and the hand-off was seamless. James was incredibly polite and thoughtful in his explanations, and the piercing itself was very quick (septum). He took the time to teach me how to flip the ring up for work, and gave me tip & tricks to get it back down without much fuss. If you have any concerns about getting a piercing, James will take care of you. Top quality service from genuine people. Doesn't get much better.
First off- I was a walk-in this past Thursday afternoon- he was booked solid, but staff were great, and I got lucky that his appt. ended early- so I suggest making an appt in advance if you can. There's only one reason I didn't give 5 stars(see below) but I just got my nose pierced by Owen and he is amazing! I haven't gotten a piercing in 20 years and I was petrified, and embarrassed because I don't think of a nose piercing as particularly "adventurous", and I got my tongue pierced in the past. In any case, he walked me through it, he didn't rush, and he was unbelievably gentle. I've had no swelling and It felt fine from the moment I walked out. Also, I have extremely sensitive skin, so I'm shocked that I've had no reaction. One thing to know, if you are new w piercings- tell him if you plan on getting multiple, so that he spaces the piercing properly. Just a tiny bit of constructive criticism- I DO wish he had asked me about that first, as I didn't really think of it. Right after he pierced me, it was so easy I asked if he could do a second one, but he couldn't (understandably) because he didn't space it to accommodate 2 piercings. I do love this place, and will be going back soon!
Friendly and helpful staff. They do great work and give good advice to help you take care of whatever you've had done.
So their site states that they are open until 7 PM I called this is September 6, 2020 at 4:30 PM I stayed on the phone until 5 PM waiting for someone to just answer the damn phone and no one answered the phone very unprofessional if you are not open change your website to let everyone know that.
Clean place, professional staff, no complaints
Super cool vibe. Came in for a tattoo cover up. Jared did a great job. Exactly what I was looking for. I would 100% recommend Chameleon Tattoo.
I went in for a walk-in on Saturday, and I came out with a tattoo that I am super happy about. We showed up when they opened at 12pm and I was working with an artist about an hour later. I recommend this shop!
Owen is wonderful! His calm and comforting presence made it a breeze for my daughter to get her ears pierced. The space is immaculate and they are serious about healthy piercing procedures. Would never go anywhere else.
Very efficient and clean. James did a piercing change for me. Really pleasant guy. But the price of jewelry is really steep!
Excellent service! I got all my piercings here(Owen) and a tattoo. I recommend this place to all my friends.
Owen pierced my daughter's ears today. She was very anxious, but he put her at ease, explaining every step and answering all her questions. She left soooo happy! I strongly recommend him for anxious kids.
Owen is the real mvp of our visit to Boston! Saved our anxious small child from an earlier piercing pagoda mishap in the most knowledgeable, gentle, professional way. Definitely a master of his craft.
The piercer was super professional and patient! Probably the most patient experience I’ve had. The guy was amazing, thorough and explained what he was doing. He is a top notch guy!
We just returned home from having my daughter's ears pierced. This was the 3rd time, as her ears became infected when we had them done at Piercing Pagoda and Claire's. The time that Owen took to explain when he was doing, right down to washing her ears, was super professional. He was just amazing! Everyone who works there is very personable. The young lady with orange and blue hair (so sorry! I never got her name!), was so sweet when I THOUGHT I had made an appt for last week! OOPS! Hands down the best place to go for piercings!! I might just have to go back and get my first tattoo! Amazing customer service from beginning to end! I highly recommend Chameleon!!!
This shop seemed extremely professional and competent. Even though they had a 4 hour wait they took me right away because I was having an emergency with a piercing I had done at a different shop. Owen was very friendly, personable & efficient, quickly helping me with my piercing and proving he was an expert on the subject. Do yourself a favor, and don't do what I did: get your next piercing here NOT somewhere else.
I got my first tattoo there, the tattoo artists are very gentle and friendly, everyone got different and special tattoos. The store is clean and simple. If you wanna tattoo, visit here. You will get something to surprise you. Btw, Harvard University around there, and some interesting stores you can visit.
Excellent tattoo work, pleasant atmosphere. Great service!
Very professional and APP certified! They carry BVLA & the appointments are usually same day unless you want to pay a fee to reserve your appointment
Went in only expecting to schedule an appointment, wanted to get something to kiss goodbye to a crappy year, but they were able to help me right then. (I'm sure a bigger art piece would have taken more planning, but mine was more straightforward.) Very happy with the outcome, and even more so with the staff, from being greeted to the final care instructions you get on the way out I never felt condescension or that I was wasting his time (which being Very left brained, I have felt from the artistics in the past :/) Next time I want to make a mark I'll be heading back. (for anyone who cares I got pi with a decimal place for each year I've been around, I know it stretches forever)
I have been a customer for years but haven’t been in since they’ve combined the jewelry store to be next door, only due to it being a little out of the way commuting wise. I made a special trip back to specifically go here and talk about a different tragus earring option. I’ve never had it changed out nor considered it until I came into a medical situation where I will need to remove it for an MRI and other imaging. After waiting for the store to open, I entered and responded to the “let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you”, with letting them know I was considering looking into a new ring. However, I was immediately scolded and it was verbally beaten into me that jewelry changeouts are never done on a Saturday - but I’m lucky because she can squeeze me in. Upon my partner asking what was so involved with the process to derail the scolding - it was then explained to me that most people don’t even change out nor should change that out. I proceeded to explain (first time I could even begin to explain my purpose for being there) that I need the ability to remove it myself when needed. This led to more scolding how that’s not the purpose of this type of piercing and we aren’t able to remove and replace by ourselves. I followed up explaining I understood the infrequent changeout nature of this piercing, but was trying to understand if a hoop would allow me to administer it myself easier than my flat back stud. The scolding continued until I ended it saying “I have a lot to think about” and left. With this reason-I’m very disappointed in the service I received. I left, went online, and found what I needed there within a half hour. I have since learned how to remove my stud and replace with a hoop, which unlike I was told IS possible to do on your own, and solved my medical concern. A year old video on YouTube was more friendly and helpful than the lady working at this local shop-and it breaks my heart to think the internet was better than local for the first time. I shop local-but never this one again.
You wrote a review for Chameleon Tattoo & Body Piercing One minute ago 1.0 star rating 12/6/2020 So... this was not a good experience. The actual piercing appointment itself went great. I went with 2 of my roommates and we all felt safe in COVID, and liked the placement of our piercings etc. (even though they were a little mean when we called and said we'd be late). We left happy with the experience. However, it all went downhill from there. We all took meticulous care of our piercings, following all the instructions given to us, and all three went wrong. Less than a month after my ear was pierced it spontaneously went into the piercing. I had no issues or infection with it before that day. I had to go to urgent care and get it cut out of my ear. Let me tell you, it was the most traumatizing experience ever. The doctor there told me that it was the piercers fault based on the size and placement of the earring. She was not impressed. Now its 3 months later and the other two girls I went with both had issues- 1 fell out about a month ago and one's got wildly infected today. I'm not sure if its the jewelry they're using, or the piercings, or the care they recommend after but something is just not right. I regret spending so much money here and absolutely recommend that you do not. Never go here!!!!
Very nice peacing done.
Got my nostril pierced here by James, he is absolutely amazing. Super friendly and informative and calmed me down when I was super nervous. The piercing process didn’t hurt at all!! :)
Worst place ever. Drove about an hour to this shop. Women at desk was not very helpful. Was spoken to because I pulled out my earring then told if I only bought jewelry that cannot guarantee the size is correct because she refused to look at the earring I took out. Was made to feel like I couldn't just buy jewelry without getting pierced then told I would have to wait 3 hours to get pierced. Walked out.....Not giving you any of my busy.
Owen is the absolute best piercer! My 7 year old daughter was nervous and Owen was awesome with her. We left with huge smiles and matching ears! :)
Phenomenal experience. Matt was as professional as they come, making my first tattoo appointment very pleasant and informative. I will definitely be coming back soon.
James was a fantastic piercer that walked through the whole process.
This place is hands down one of the best places to go for tattoos! My best friend and I went for walk-ins one night for her birthday and the staff was super friendly and chill. Mike was my artist and he did an INCREDIBLE job! I showed him the basics of what I wanted and asked him to run free with the idea to make it pretty. He went all out and it came out so beautiful! Definitely favorite tattoo to date! This piece was also cheaper than a smaller tattoo that I had done at a different shop! All around, I had an excellent experience, Mike did an AMAZING job, and I definitely plan on going back for another tattoo!
My friend and I got our cartilage pierced my James and it was a wonderful expirence. The staff was knowledgeable and super helpful. They were super nice as well. Definitely will go back!
I've been going to Chameleon for roughly three years now and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tattoo or piercing. Reuben did my very first tattoo on my wrist and made sure that I was not only comfortable but that my mind was not on the pain. Owen has done my rook, conch, tragus, anti tragus, nostril, daith, navel and both nipples and is not only knowledgeable but extremely clean and nice. I highly recommend this parlor for all your tattoo and piercing needs!!!
I have been to Reuben for four tattoos, one of which is a half sleeve that took several sessions to complete. I also paid for my friend to get a tattoo as well one other time I was there as well. Long story short I've been there many many times for work. I LOVE THIS SHOP! I have about 35 tattoos, no exaggeration, and this place is by far the best of the 6 plus studios ivery been too in the last decade. Reuben is amazing, his traditional japanese tattoos are incredible. Stunning actually, so if ur looking for legit high quality japanese work, hit Reuben up!
Great place, got all my work done there so far, artist are really good and won't steer you wrong
My twin and I got two great tattoos from Jorge
Owen is a true professional who has truly honed his craft. His calm demeanor was greatly appreciated during our son’s piercing today. The place was spotless. Jewelry selection impressive. Front desk team offered us clear communication prior to our appointment. Super smooth check-in procedure. Highly recommend.
Owen is the man. Such a nice and calm guy. I was nervous going for my piercing but just talking to him calmed me down so much and I felt so relaxed after talking to him for a bit.
Will steal your money if they get the chance.
Very clean...everything explained thoroughly..extreme sterility conditions...very professional!!
This place was awesome ! I googled it and it was my first time w my daughter and was so pleased w the service, cleanliness, and info on how to care for piercing ! Will def be back for more piercings!
I came in to get second lobes done, Owen was very good and kind while piercing, he was calm and talked me through the whole process while it was happening. However, the person who manages the phone calls was very un kind when talking to her, she misgendered me a few times, and talking to her just felt like i was being talked down to. The healing process for the piercing wasn't explained to me very well either, around 3 months of having the piercing in, the back pulled all the way through to the front. When I called and talked about it they told me I was apparently supposed to go in a month earlier and get my jewelry shortened, which I hadn’t heard anything about. If you’re going to get pierced here I 100% reccomend Owen, from the other reviews I’ve read he seems like the best.
First time getting an ear piercing. I was incredibly nervous but Owen did a great job and I learned a lot about piercing care! Thank you!
Owen is a fabulous piercer. I've recieved 3 piercings from him and he helped me address and heal a piercing that had been done poorly at another studio. Hes so great I'm driving 2 hours each way today to get an double helix from him. Highly recommend!
Great for kids (ear piercings). Great experience.
Great service, the team is professional and really went the extra mile to ensure my experience was good. Owen called back promptly when I had questions. Highly recommend!
I went in there today around 1:50 pm and I felt like the girl at the jewelry counter was racist she was talking to me like I was stupid, and very stand offish, and I believe she over charge me for my jewelry because the last time I went in there I never paid so much for the jewelry and I still got my previous receipts to show the same jewelry I brought at a lower price almost like she made that price up, she was very rude , but a white girl walked and and she was so cartering to her needs. I will not be returning to their store and I definitely will share the news on social media and tell my friends to stay away!!!
Awesome place!! If you want quality tattoos at a great price you better go to Chameleon! Jarod does phenomenal work.
Top notch work
Such an amazing experience for my granddaughter (5yrs) I did a ton of research when she started campaigning for pierced ears. We chose Owen at Chamaeleon based on outstanding reviews. The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful starting with all the necessary info when I made the appointment . They got us checked in efficiently, helped with the paperwork and guided my granddaughter through her earring choices. Owen was very patient and spoke directly to my granddaughter through the whole process. The actual piercing was so seamless she didn’t even flinch. The smile on her face was priceless! We left feeling very confident with aftercare information. I’ve read some mention them being pricey. This was well worth every penny to have things done safely & correctly -and be properly educated. #justsaynotomallpiercings!
Great little shop, amazing artists, and very clean. Thanks Owen for being helpful and patient as always!
great selection, friendly staff, very professional and clean environment
Mike did an amazing job on my tattoo he was competent and quick. He awnserd any questions I had. I'm extremely happy with the result
They're a bit slow to greet people as you walk through the door, but once they do, they're super friendly and helpful! I went for an earring change (two forward helixes) and the person who helped was wonderful and patient as I chose the earring I wanted. He even tried to save me some money by reusing the backs I had already, but unfortunately the backs I had were not compatible with the jewelry that he had. I would definitely come back here if I needed more earrings changed!
Got my last two tattoos there, word definitely recommend. My most recent tattoo was done by Jorge and he did a phenomenal job on it.
We asked to use our own gold earring for ear piercing but were told no, we had to pay for a pair of expensive "surgical grade titanium earrings". My daugther ended up with massive allergic reactions that did not heal for four months. Only after I replaced the earrings with our own gold ones, did the reactions go away.
Owen today removed a septum piercing that my daughter (18) had done by a mall piercer a week ago. Owen explained what was wrong and informed us we should contact the board of health in the town the other piercer was located. He was informative, kind, caring, sanitary and patient. Once the first piercing is healed (approx 2 weeks), we are taking her back to Owen to have the piercing done properly. He may be a little more expensive than the mall, but the cost will be worth it!
My experience for my actual piercing appointment was great, but that was the only good part. Two of my friends and I all got cartilage piercings--one of them has had to have hers cut out of her ear from infection, the other's fell out, and mine is now infected as well. Would not go to Chameleon again.
Owen is an amazing piercer! I went in for a double nipple piercing and was so scared because I've never had an piercings done besides on my ears but he is so calm and thorough it really relaxed me. He took me through every step of the way and explained everything that he was doing and gave me no surprises. He doesn't rush anything and makes sure you are happy with everything before he does it. The piercings came out great and I love them so much! I highly recommend him for anyone getting a piercing!
I really liked Chameleon pre-Covid, and I have had excellent experiences with piercers themselves, but the unprofessional and unkind manner of the front desk staff (on multiple occasions) will make me stop going to Chameleon. I arrived a few minutes early, but apparently not early enough, once, to be told I was not on time. I asked specifically beforehand if I should arrive early, and since it was just a piercing post getting shortened, was told no. I work in customer service and understand the exhaustion all workers workers face, but they were blatantly hurtful.
For piercing go with Owen, he's the best!
My friend and I just got cartilage piercings by James and it was an overall great experience! Everyone in there was very friendly and clearly knowledgeable on piercings and James made me feel so comfortable before the piercing. I would 10/10 recommend! :)
