I have to admit this was my very first professional piercing I have ever had done in my life. Laura did exactly what I explained I wanted and week later my septum is healing just great. I highly recommend to go see Laura especially if you are very picky and specific about your piercing. For how much she charges she definitely overcomes the expectations. Can't wait to come back to get my medusa redone!

Got a simple helix piercing here a year ago and it didn’t really heal properly which I didn’t blame on the piercer at the time. I got it looked at by another piercer who is very experienced and he told me that the piercing wasn’t pierced in the right position at all and was done poorly with low quality jewelry. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Got a double nose piercing and, was very happy. The piercer was super friendly and, understanding of me being nervous. She walked me through each step, took her tine doing so and, made sure the piercings were perfectly lined up and even. On top of that we had a nice chat and, she ordered some other jewelry for me going out of her way to make sure she was getting me the right size and, fit. The other staff were super pleasant as well! I've had a lot of piercings and this place is definitely the top on my list.

I called to see if they had time to do a super small tattoo . I was told to just drive down ! So I raced down it took about 15 minutes and when I arrived I was told sorry we can try and get you in at the end of the day . I am not from Calgary and was heading back to the city . If they didn't have time why not just say so . I called in ! Super poor customer service !

I've gotten both a piercing and a tattoo from the art house. Laura the piercer was did an excellent job on my nostril and was very knowledgeable about other ones I was curious about. I got both my thighs tattooed by Alex Eremko and I love them, he also has my sleeve drawn up, I'm just waiting till April when I have money to get it done.

Phoned in and asked about appointments. Am told they have to have me come in to book. Went in to book. Lady ignored me to read for 15 minutes. Finally ask if I can get a septum piercing. Told they have NO septum jewelry. This is a place that (at least at the time) advertises mostly piercing, and all you need for a septum is a captive bead ring. So she says, we will order some and call you. 1 month goes by, I call them. They say oh yeah we are still ordering it. Another month, no phone call, I think I tried to call and go in...to get SEPTUM jewelry, in a NORMAL size... 4 times. They didn't answer the phone, the receptionist was rude, and I'm not too sure how you couldn't have captive bead rings.

My tattoo was very well done, and I'm very happy with it. The reason I'm not giving a stellar rating is the experience of getting it done. I found the staff to be indifferent almost to the point of being rude. My artist didn't even introduce herself to me. When I first went to the shop, it was closed. The mobile website said they were open every day except Tuesday, but the door when I arrived said they were also closed Mondays. I emailed them about it and I believe it's since been corrected. A few days later, I walked in to book my appointment and the artist that was assigned to me assumed I wanted to do the tattoo right then, which I didn't believe I had enough time to do (I had to be somewhere about an hour later). She went and set up her station, and when I said I had planned on setting an appointment for a later day, she just looked annoyed. Eventually (between her, the woman at the desk and myself) we figured out that because it was a small piece, there would be enough time to do it, so I filled out the paperwork (which I didn't even see anyone read over, they certainly didn't ID me to make sure I was of age) and sat down. This was my first tattoo, so I was very nervous, but no one asked me or did anything to calm my nerves. The actual tattooing was done fairly quickly, I went up to the counter and paid (with a credit card, which I understand most tattoo shops don't accept, so that was nice). After I paid, my artist asked me if I knew how to take care of the tattoo, which I didn't, so she handed me an aftercare sheet. The sheet provided good, specific instructions for the first day or so, but didn't mention what to do after that, so I've been following instructions I found online. The sheet also said that touch-ups are complimentary 1-3 months after getting the tattoo, and I believe most places offer a year. Anyway, I'm pleased with my tattoo, but I don't think I'll be returning The Arthouse in the future, and I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. I'd rather go somewhere where I feel like my business is valued, rather than just an inconvenience.

As a total body art virgin, I couldnt have asked for a better piercer than Laura! She made me feel so comfortable and was so easy to talk to. She was funny and kind. I will definitely be coming back for any future work. I also liked that this location has semi-private rooms for piercings to avoid being watched by on-lookers. The practice looked and smelled clean.

After trying various tattoo and piercing shops around the city, I've found that Eternal Image and the Arthouse are two of my favourites. Unlike Body Inc, which is just next to it, the Arthouse thoroughly autoclaves all equipment and has well-trained staff. I have also met some unfriendly tattoo artists there [downright horrible], but haven't yet gotten a tattoo from them. If you're looking for friendly piercing staff, make an appointment with Saundra or Laura. I found that the piercings I got there were carefully placed and healed just as well if not better than those from Eternal Image, Lucky Buddha, Sin City, Divine et cetera. Sorry to hear about your tribulations :(

I’ve recently just got a lion tattoo from Francisco. It was a 5 hour session, he was very gentle and fast and it turned out absolutely amazing and I couldn’t ask for more. I had my arm done by francisco 2 weeks ago it has healed with little to no scabbing, and I am beyond happy with the work he did, I sat for 7 and a half hours for pretty much my first tattoo and it was a very enjoyable experience, I would recommend francisco to anyone I know. A fantastic artist with great talent, also a very dope and easy going guy. He makes it a great experience. IF YOU WANT GOOD WORK GO SEE HIM!

I've gotten two tattoos done here by Amber and Shannon and I wouldn't have picked a better environment, they're so lovely and really amazing artists. They really channel and get a sense of understanding for what the client wants and place the tattoos to the form of the persons body so it flows, which I've never experienced before, because it seems as though most places just place it on and that's that, but they take it all so seriously, it's really refreshing. I get compliments on my pieces everywhere I go and I'm proud to say I got them at such an amazing shop.
