First off, I have booked an appointment 4 days prior to coming in. When the day came around to get tattooed the front desk lady told me that my name was not scheduled anywhere to come in. Of course, with this being a mistake on their end they have agreed to take in my sisters and I on that day. Secondly, the oriental receptionist was super rude. She kicked my sisters and I out of the shop and told us to wait outside in the heat to make room for other customers when we have arrived there first and were waiting for our appointment. We were waiting outside in the sun for 3 hours just to get a simple 5 letter word. Customer service was ridiculously unacceptable.

I got 2 different tattoos by 2 different artists there this summer. Second one didn't turn out how I wanted so they did a second pass on it with no questions asked. Customer service is top notch and at the end of the day, they want the customer to be happy with their artwork. Artists are very talented and respectful and make you feel at home when you arrive. The building itself is clean, organized and professional and even has parking in the back so you don't have to pay for on street parking. I highly recommend paying them a visit if you're thinking about getting a piece done. Will be back in the future!

Went in for an appointment with Paul. Thought it would be dece. Turned out to be THE DOPEST TATTOO PARLOR IN CALGARY, with a super clean setup and passionate artists. The staff is very professional. Best tattoo experience I’ve had, Paul is a champ and did an amazing job on adding to my tribal sleeve. Will definitely be back for more!

Very talented artists( my bf being one of them). All with their own unique styles. There's quite a few of them to choose from as well, something like 9-10. Friendly helpful staff. Initially they will do a consultation to figure out what and who you're wanting to get done. They can replicate something that has already been drawn or recreate a unique version they draw for you. After you give them all your details they'll book you an appointment. If it's gonna be a large tattoo that requires lots of time they'll probably want a deposit so they know you're not going to waste the artist's time. If it's something quick n easy they usually have an artist doing walk-in's too. The location is very central and the building is a nicely renovated heritage home.

I am deeply put off by the customer service at the front desk. Absolutely appalled by how unprofessional and rude the ladies at the front are. THEY WILL TELL YOU this lie “ we never got your appointment date .” even when you show them your email conformation . On top of that they have not fixed the information on the website since the beginning of the pandemic it is filled with misleading information ( which they font even apologize for) i’m sure the actual artists and piercers are welcoming and professional however you need to get through the unpleasant receptionist... not impressed.

15 minutes before my appointment they called me to push it back an hour. Ok, fine. I was already down the block and had some time so I stopped for a coffee and came back after an hour. I didn't get to see the artist until after 70 more minutes in the waiting room. So, 2.5 hrs of waiting and the tattoo itself goes well. It was tiny tattoo day and my tattoo was like a cm over the max diameter so they wouldn't give me the deal, even after the super long wait. The tatt is good, done by Dana, but the art isn't hers so I can't judge on that. The people were nice but clearly disorganized. The spot is pretty and clean. I won't be back though.

My tattoo artist was great, however when I booked my appt it was for myself and my friend to get matching tattoos. They did NOT book enough time for my artist to do my friend, and booked her for the rest of the night, sending us away with only one of us getting tattooed. Not impressed.

Edit: Came back for some tattooing, and ended up with some miscommunication on the how and what. It happens, right? No biggie. From there, it spiralled into quite a frustrating journey of follow ups trying to get my deposit back, due to said miscommunication. After that experience, sure won't be back for anything. :( Didnt get tattooed but came in for some Saniderm/Second Skin patches (shoutout to Immaculate for the tip!). Super busy shop, very clean. Pricing on the patches was a little steep but combined with service, worth it. Kaylie was absolutely lovely, and even cleaned and changed out my two existing bandages on the spot while in between clients!

From the first call to this shop till the moment we paid - our experience was GREAT! The receptionist was amazing, probably one of the most friendly people I have dealt with ever - and extremely pleasant and helpful! Alex was fantastic - it has been probably 15 years since both my husband and I had tattoos - but we are so happy we found / picked Atticus to get them done at! We called and they fit us in the next day (after out orig shop cancelled last minute on us!) We will definitely be back - and will definitely have Alex do our next tattoos.. We are so happy that Alex was able to do our Anniversary tattoos! they turned out awesome! Everyone that has seen them agrees they look great! (The rest of the staff seemed super friendly aswell !)

From the initial emails to walking out the door with fresh tattoos, Atticus Tattoo has left me extremely satisfied with their service. They have excellent covid protocol which is really nice to see, as some businesses aren't taking it very seriously. The energy in the waiting room is super chill with some music, safely distanced chairs, and very nice people working front end. My artist Devin was beyond amazing. Super nice dude, very understanding and extremely patient (especially with a client like me, I'm a big baby when it comes to pain). He's a very creative artist and you can tell he's seriously passionate about what he does. If you have an idea/suggestion he doesn't hesitate to take that and turn it into something beautiful. I got 3 new pieces (1 of his own) and 2 pieces redone and he really went above and beyond with these. He threw The Office on his TV for me and that really made me feel comfortable and actually made the place feel like home! I can't imagine going to anyone else now. Hopefully I can edit this review and add some photos of the tattoos when they heal!

Just a heads up to anyone deciding to book an appointment in advance, your deposit is non refundable. I booked an appointment 3 1/2 weeks in advance but got a call from Perfect Image Tattoo saying they had a spot open to get my tattoo done so I took the spot and got it done there instead(no deposit needed). I ended up contacting Atticus 3 weeks before my appointment and told them that I found a shop closer to home so I wouldn’t have to drive 4 hours one way to get my tattoo done and if I could get my $100 deposit back. They never told me before and said after the fact it was non refundable. They did say they could hold it up to 6 months for me but I decided I wouldn’t want to get work done with a shop that feels the need to keep money for work they never did. I’d understand if I called the same day or the day before my appointment and said I couldn’t make it and they took my deposit. But for a 3 week advance notice I’d expect a bit more of a professional attitude.

Our appointment was made last night on short notice for 7:45. We arrived at 7:20 in hopes of getting in early or at least being there way before we were supposed to, to accommodate, since the store was closing at 8:30. My fiance and I had 2 small letters and a + sign tattooed on our left arms all of which took less than a half hour for both of us combined (including sterilizing etc). The shop was clean, bright and professional. Our tattoo artist Wyoming was easy going, easy to talk to and all around really cool guy that did a great job on our letters. However - the reason Im only giving a 2 star review is that we were charged for a full 2 hours....4 letters and 2 + signs, in and out in under half an hour and charged over $300 ($375 with tip because our guy did a good job like i said). Again, no qualms about the cleanliness or our artist but with the pricing. Wont be going back aside from touch ups (if need be) on our overpriced letters and definitely wont recommend based on that fact alone.

Was really excited for a new tattoo, but very disappointed with the results. My artist forgot to add a finger that was fairly clear in the stencil because the stencil was reused too many times. He was apologetic, which I definitely appreciated, but it was suggested to me that I could get the hand lasered off while I was still getting the tattoo. I used all of the appropriate aftercare, payed for the second skin and kept it on for the required time, but the linework didn't hold well at all. I booked a touchup, and still, after perfect aftercare it didn't hold well at all. I was firm but polite in emailing the shop to let them know I was displeased (understandably, considering if it weren't for the linework not holding up, my artist still initially messed up the fingers of my tattoo), but they started replying in manner that was sassy instead of genuinely apologetic. I've never had a tattoo heal poorly like this where the lines don't hold, and I've never had laser removal suggested to me on a tattoo while getting it for a part that he messed up. Since the touchup did not work, they suggested I pay to have it done again. I understand that artists' time is valuable, but when you spend a lot of money on a tattoo, you pay to have it done right the first time. I wouldn't suggest coming here if you don't want to waste money.

Got a Flat Cartilage piercing here today. The woman who did it was very professional and chill, definitely one of my best piercing experiences (i have 12 in total). I'm not sure the name of the piercer, but she was fantastic! Definitely would have been 5 stars if not for poor time management as a whole. The wait was a long time for what how short the appointment ended up being. Understandably, it is covid times and there takes lots of time to clean. I was disappointed because it was appointment only yet still ended up being about a 25 minute wait. Will be returning for any future piercings! ????

My artist was Chris Bosch and he was great with understanding I didn't want any changes to my design. This was my first tattoo, and he was friendly, his work was clean, and lines were great! The shop is small, but a really friendly place. I would strongly recommend coming here.

So I went to get my septum pierced she put the needle threw my septum partially then pulled it out and said she couldn’t pierce it, she didn’t even clean the blood that was coming out of my nose or give me something to clean it just sent me out. I will never be returning for a piercing this was a terrible traumatizing experience.

I've been going to Atticus tattoo for almost 2 years now. Every time I go, the experience is awesome! The ladies at the front desk are friendly, welcoming, and professional, and the space is super clean. Like, medically clean. I've been seeing Cam as my artist and if you ever have the chance to book with him, DO IT! He is a great guy - super friendly, caring, and his work is absolutely stunning. As long as he is at Atticus, I will keep coming back! The other good thing about Atticus is they work really hard to fit you in and work with your schedule - something I haven't experienced with other spaces. Definitely bonus. 5 Stars all around Atticus!

So, I had 3 tattoos done here last year by Megan Richter. 2 of them are mediocre and one is being redone by another artist at a different shop because its jacked... I shouldn't have went back after my first one tbh. The day i showed up for my tattoo she hadn't even drawn up a tattoo and ended up just tatting the the image I brought in for reference line for line... the second and third tats i had done left me with scars because she went too deep and the day I went in for my third one, she left me in the room for about 45 mins before getting started and ended up rushing to get it finished before her next appointment leaving me with a sloppy half finished tattoo that I paid full price for. It's my own fault for not doing enough research before choosing an artist but I highly recommend anyone who wants tattoos to really take your time finding the right one for the style you want. I've since found a new artist and the difference in quality for the same hourly rate is insane. The first time he saw the tattoo she did that he's fixing for me, he and the other artist in that shop were genuinely upset that she left me with that mess... You may have to wait a few months to get in to the really good artists but it's worth it for something that's going to be on your body for the rest of your life.

Today, my best friend and I got matching tattoos at Atticus. We were very fortunate enough to have Cam as out artist. Despite just beginning his career, he is a fantastic artist to be paired up with. Cam took his time in making sure the art that we wanted was on the right arm, in the right position, right design, and while extracting the tattoo he paid great attention to detail. This was my friend's first time at getting a tattoo and he made it a very comfortable and easy experience for her. Our tattoos turned out beautiful! We couldn't have ask for a better turnout. I got the word "tacos" tattooed on me. It was a clean shop and the guy who did it was a sweetheart! My only issue is it was $200 which is a tad steep for that and the line work wasn't perfect in certain parts. Wouldn't mind as much if it wasn't so expensive but for a 5 letter word you kinda expect it to be perfect or for the letters to be really straight. Only can tell close up though so overall pretty good my first tat so nothing to base it off. Overall good experience took me last min & the guy was super kind & caring just found some minor imperfections.

I’ve been tattooed here multiple times, as well as friends/family. This place is honestly the worst… no disrespect to the artists but it is ran horribly. They cram in way too many appointments each day, the quality of the ink is clearly very rushed and doesn’t hold up well over time. The tattoo removal they offer is not state of the art like they claim… they do not consider their clients whatsoever. You will be scheduled in for an appointment at a certain time and then you will wait 1,2, sometimes even 3 hours past your appointment time just to get it. Please do not waste your time or money here, your skin is precious canvas and you don’t want to be covered in ink that looks like low quality press on tattoos. Go to artists who actually care about the work you’re getting done. Update: in response to you guys replying to my first review… no I haven’t been in in quite some time. However after having multiple AMAZING experiences at more professional shops, I felt obligated to warn others of the quality of your shop. I can gladly upload photos of my ink and the reference photos provided. I understand that they are reference photos but looking back, your artists could never get close to what I was asking for. I had two experiences where I was booked with one artist and when switched to another after the stencil was drawn. I don’t understand how each time I came in I was made to wait HOURS after my appointment time, and after reading reviews this is a very common thing for people. How can you justify that? Even some of your artists would complain that they are overbooked/overwhelmed working there. Your artists care about their clients, sure. But the people doing the booking are clearly focused on a volume based booking system rather than allowing time for quality work to be done.

I went to Alex a year ago for my first tattoo, she also did my second and recently my fourth. Every visit I’ve had at Atticus has always been such a pleasant one! The whole staff is so friendly and hilarious, Alex is so extremely talented as well and I absolutely love all my tattoos that she’s done. She really takes into account what you want and listens and will readjust until you have exactly what you want. She’s also extremely talented especially with her shading ???? I highkey recommend her as well as the shop itself. It’s super clean, the receptionists are the sweetest people you’ll ever encounter and there are always refreshments as well! They really know how to make a tattoo appointment the best it can be!

I was warned about Atticus by a close friend about how they charged her the same price to touch up a poorly done tattoo (charged the same price for a full tattoo in under a year). Most places I've seen will happily do tattoo touch ups for free under a year. Yesterday, me and my pals booked piercings and were so excited. We drove into Calgary early and waited until our appointment was ready. Once our time came to get pierced, we were told that they were out of nose studs and wouldn't be able to be pierced. They never called us to tell us they were out. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me. :((

Took me a while to write this, mainly because I needed some time to figure out just how I was going to fix this big mess on my arm. I contacted Atticus in hopes to reach Jenelle Wolfe who does very good watercolor/geometric tattoos. I was swayed by the person answering their facebook that they had someone else that worked there that was just as good. Atticus tattoo is super close to my house so I thought 'why not'. The artist (I'm not going to say her name as I don't want to 'bash' someone however I do reccomend you do NOT go to this joint for any sort of watercolor type work) drew me up a pretty nice peice for my whole arm. I thought for sure this will be wicked. When I went in to check it out you could tell the stencil it was drawn on was not for my size of arm - She didn't resize it at all and just hoped for the best that it would fit. Tattoo appnt #1 - Went okay, was just the line work really. I wasn't sure why she was outlining the parts that were going to be a very light blue watercolor but I let it go thinking she knew what she was doing Tattoo appnt #2 - She left me in her office for 50 minutes with no explanation as to where she went. I thought she went to the back but turns out she actually went to get her kid or something. I sat there and waited in her office. She came running back in an hour later than less than an hour later her next appnt came in. I was so not impressed. Also a kid kept coming into the tattoo room and she kept stopping. She told me top of my hand would have some fading - however when it healed it was so bad - the colors weren't even in the lines. the circles were completely messed up. The line around my wrist was so crooked that the new artist had to work some magic. When I sent an email in to the manager (whom I was originally swayed by) she told me I had - PROBLEMATIC SKIN - while I do have a skin condition I have NUMEROUS tattoos and all of them the ink has taken quite well including the cover up of the tattoo that they didn't do well. this shop is not professional unfortunately. I feel bad for saying this. My advice is do your research there are so many other tattoo shops out there that have a better skillset for what you are paying for.

Back in June I had a consult with one of the tattoo artists, he said he'd get the drawing back to me within that week. He totally forgot about me and over two weeks later I had to message the shop privately to actually get him to start drawing the design for me, promising me he would have the drawing for monday he still didnt have it and instead gave it the following tuesday. Having him flake out I decided to give the $160 deposit to my dad to use. Today he got there for his 2:30 apt and was tattooed three 1'' nautical stars by a really good artist named Simon, but an hour into his tattoo a lady came in nagging and told him his hour was up though it was only 3:20. She started the timer early. So they continued to finish up but only 1 star was colured and when my dad went to leave the lady CHARGED HIM $60 EXTRA even though he paid for the FULL hour already. $220 for 3 small nautical stars. Absolute Bs. The artist said he had no say in how much they charge so he couldnt do anything about it. The artist was good but I dont recommend this shop whatsoever, to anyone.

Found the artist I was working with quite unprofessional (Murray), had to wait hours to get a simple touch up even with a booked appointment. Felt my artist wasn't quite experienced with tattoos, as I needed two touchups for a simple tattoo. If there was an issue with my design, I felt it was my artists due diligence to tell me and help me make adjustments. Was not pleased with my tattoo in the end either. Although the reception lady was very kind and helpful in my process. One piece of critism I would give to the establishment itself would be to figure out how to better time tattoo appointments, I was charged a half hour more than it actually took to do my tattoo. Although I was given a gift certificate I wish I was given my money back instead.

I went to get a tongue piercing, and being a trans I booked the appointment under my preferred name. However as soon I as handed over my ID with my legal name the staff proceeded to deadname me the whole night. I even wrote my preferred name on the waiver, but it didn't matter, they proceeded call me by the wrong name. Which, y'know I get we're in Alberta, but it was in bridgeland so I was sure it would be a little more accepting and cool ... They also didn't ask anyone for vaccination records, no one was checked. When I got back to see the piercer she tried to avoid talking to me as much as possible, and after marking my tongue just went in for the piercing, didn't ask me if the placement was okay, didn't count me down, nothing, just went for it. And for my friends piercing she dropped it on the ground and then rinsed it off before putting it in their ear. Which, maybe it was a long night for her, but y'know, I was trying to be fun and make jokes and ask questions to ease the tension. Maybe it was just an off night for them... But it definitely wasn't the fun experience I was hoping for. But other people seem to like them so maybe it was just me.

Overall great place, no complaints. My mom and I got matching tattoos and I got a second one done as well! We were there for just over 2hrs we ended up getting Sergio. I was a little worried because they haven't shown any of his work on FB/Instagram/website so I was a little nervous not knowing the work he has done in the future! I would like to see some more or his work still though. Honestly though he did fantastic, he is such a great person and easy to talk to and made me getting my first tattoo a breeze I would definitely recommend seeing him to anyone getting black and white! He did great! Shop was extremely clean which was amazing! Love the layout such a fantastic shop! I will definitely be going back in the future for more work. I'll add another review once my tattoos have healed it's only been 4 days but so far so good! Price to me seemed pretty decent compared to most places! I think with 3 tattoos, my mom and I, and 2 hrs 15min plus top we paid around $300! I got a quote from another place for just myself and I was looking at $300-600 so definitely worth going here! Although there might be some bad reviews don't let that effect your decision you don't know till you try! Start small then to big! :D

I discovered this shop randomly online in the early morning. I eventually found a design that I wanted. I emailed them on a Monday before 9am. After several correspondance later, we set an appointment the same day at 4pm. The shop is very clean, & the staff was very professional. The place felt like a dental office not like a hipsters place like the other typical tattoo shops. My tattoo with Gage turned out great. The price is fair. I will be coming back for more tattoos.

Reviewing customer service only, have NOT done a tattoo here! I was on my trip all the way from Ontario. I contacted the shop asking if spots are available. Through the email, they told me that one the artists is available..blablabla...please call to book an appointment. I called right away, lady on the phone, didn't know about my emails at all, didn't know what I was talking about. Once we figure out what I want and need, she told me that the artist they recommend at the beginning is not available. Afterwords, lady told me that she will send my references and details to other artist and will get back to me. Never called. Never emailed. I guess overbooked or just simple not care. I went earlier today to get my first tattoo, I’m 17 and I had booked an appointment with heather! She is so so awesome!! Made sure I was comfortable and was so kind! I wasn’t getting a big tattoo, it took less than an hour, but the work she did was phenomenal! It was a black Celtic symbol, and the lines are so crisp and is absolutely perfect! I could not have asked for anything better! I would recommend anyone to go here, the staff are all so friendly and the inside is super clean and great looking! Went to Atticus to take advantage of a February promo my friend saw online (we have been following them for a while as we have seen other promos prior). We were able to get an appointment pretty quick for the weekend as we inquired around Tues/Wed. Overall, very happy with the experience. Receptionist very professional (surprised about that), knows her stuff and you can tell she is on top of everything. If you have been to other tattoo places the front person it seems maybe the apprentice and isn't as attentive. My friend and I were set up with Jon yesterday. He clarified size and design and went straight to work. The tattoos were what we wanted and the lines clean, which can be hit or miss going to an artist you have never seen work from. Would recommend him, as he made sure every step that we were okay about the design, placement and for the actually tattooing. Thanks Jon!

Probably the worst tattoo I've gotten. Emailed my requested tattoo and requested an artist. They gave me someone completely different. Artist thought I wanted a water color tattoo even though they had the stencil printed out. (Black clover tattoo with red devil and asta). They failed to see the art. And did their own design. Tried to fix but made it worse. It looks as if it was a 30 second child water tattoo. Colors were not vibrant. Artist took 3 smoke breaks totalling over an hour that I was charged for. Granted they offered to fix it up on another day but I dont have that time while on vacation. Was charged $266.00 USD, in all honesty I should have never paid. The tattoo was that bad. In total the tattoo took 3 hours when it should have taken one. The artist also went outside of the stencil and had about 3 lines just randomly placed and I now have about 10 random black tattoo moles. I should be refunded my money regardless. There is no excuse.

I had a horrible experience here. Not only did we have to wait 2 hours for a BOOKED appointment. We got charged 200+ for something that only took 1 hour. I would understand pricing, if the artist did a good job. She would step in and out for minutes on end when it could’ve been done much quicker. Furthermore there was no communication between us and the employees whatsoever, the people at the front desk were stuck up and although the artists were all extremely professional, the people at the front desk ruined that experience. There needs to be some serious customer service change.

I have 18+ tattoos and have never been charged GST/ it has always been a flat price; the ink was applied poorly and had since faded after 3 months, and to top it off if they failed to twll me and my friend that if we don’t purchase extra after care for another extra 20$ you don’t get free touch ups , #worstshopever

The guy who did it was so polite and easy going and he honestly made my nerves feel so much better about it because I was really freaking out haha. Only issue was the paw print tattoo I got was too small and the design bled together... they offered to fix it so they outlined it in white and it looked good for a while until it fully healed. Now it is bled together again and they said if I want it fixed, I'm going to have to pay. Not too impressed with the whole scenario even though it is such a good shop. I went to Atticus to get a memorial piece and the piece was absolutely butchered. Lines aren’t straight and it healed horribly even when following all their instructions. I’ve had people comment on it in a negative way, asking where I had it done. I have other tattoos from different artists that healed beautifully with the same care regiment. On top of that I felt extremely uncomfortable with my artist as he was rude when I asked him to make changes to the design. In the moment I wanted to leave but was too nervous to say anything so I sat through it, which yes is my fault. Atticus even says on their site “client comfort and satisfaction is our top priority” which is something they really don’t practise . Also please do not go here for piercings. I was with my sister as she called about a piece of jewellery and the receptionist didn’t even know what she was asking about (a simple piece of septum jewelry) and then proceeded to get snippy when my sister was asking about what the jewellery was made of. She had no idea and just kept making up excuses. If you offer piercings at your shop, your reception should at least know what your jewelry is made up of.

Edited review - The manager had called me to adress my review. I repsect this emensly instead of replying with something that seems attacking or out of context. She wanted to hear my side of the story and adress the concerns to better the shop. The price situation was a misscomunication and misunderstanding of the signs from our part. Chaging the star rateing beause I really appreciate a manager that appreciates reviews and feedback and looks to better there business. thank you for reaching out :) (Previous review) Went in to get tattooed with my friend today, we picked atticus due to them being awesome for walk ins and having lots of good reviews and talented artists. However, we were not greeted at all when we walked in the door and reception was not very friendly. Anyways, we got our artist (Dana) she was very nice and helped us pick something from her flash even though we were indecisive and spontanious with what we wanted. But when we were getting tattooed the artist got up and left us twice (I belive for consultations) the first we waited about 20 mins for her to get back and the second was about 15. I just thought it was a little rude to get up whilst in the middle of tattooing for consultations that shouldnt have been sheduled during tattoo times. Anywho, other than that Dana was very pleasent and we were happy with the tattoos. When it was time to pay however, my friend and I were extremly shocked at the price tag. I was charged $238 for a three inch colour flower. I was told that was because I was charged hourly and it was over an hour (It was just under if you exclud the times she left. As well Dana didnt have an hourly price listed on their artist hourly price sign) My friend got the exact same tattoo and was charged only $210. We were very shocked at this priceand the differnce in prive dispite having the same tattoo because the shop minimum was $150 and they have a sign on the wall said its $80 for something one square inch and $20 extra for every extra sqaur inch. We were not expecting this price as we read these signs before getting tattooed and purposefully picked something small to try and not exceed this exponentially. But what can you do when you have already been tattooed. When my friend handed the receptionist her cash she thought she had about $200 cash on her so thats what she told her and the recptionist rudely snapped back that she only had $170. She acted like my friend was trying to decive her with the amount when in reality it was just a guess on how much she had... I just feel as if we were over charged especilly with the poor customer service we reccived at the front desks, no smiles, no conversation and no skills on how to interact with customers. Definitly do not reccomend atticus for this reason and will not ever return for this reason. Sad I have to give this place a bad review.

The tattoo I was getting was very important and had to be done to make sure it looks similiar to a statue I have and Amanda did it perfectly! Going here for all my future tattoos!

Me and my girlfriend booked same day for two tattoos. We originally requested an Apprentice as they are the cheapest (obviously). We were tattooed by Nina, who is a little newer to the shop. I am BEYOND impressed with her, it’s the best tattoo either of us have gotten in both cases; she was funny and very professional! Quick and made sure not to go over the hour we requested. The work is genuinely miles ahead of most tattoo artists I’ve seen. When we went to pay there was a mistake, Nina was not an Apprentice. We paid the fee and while it was high I still felt it matched the quality we got. Despite this the receptionist got in touch with me after and reimbursed us as if we had been tattooed by an apprentice. We will both be back for future pieces. I suggest anybody looking for a great shop with great work and great artists, choose Atticus.

I have been here twice now and have had such great experiences with the apprentice artists!! They are absolutely wonderful, clean and friendly. What surprises me is how I've been treated by the receptionists both times. Very rude and sassy. First time around, I assumed she was just having a rough day. But the second time around, still? I understand we are in the middle of a pandemic and shops are reducing capacity, I truly do. But to kick someone's anxiety support friend out of the shop in a rude way, and to kick their own customer out AFTER they had just paid for their service and make them wait outside for their ride (that was 10 minutes away) in the middle of a blizzard? Again, I understand the shop does not want extra people but there are always nicer ways to address it. My friend and I came in so excited for tattoos but came out disappointed by the two receptionists. We were being very cooperative and respectful. Social distancing, wearing masks and using our manners. We are very upset we didn't receive that same respect back. If there is a third time I come back to the shop (because I love your artists) please have better receptionists!

I had gone in to Atticus for my first tattoos a few weeks ago. My appointment was for 8pm and my tattoo artist didn't see me until 930pm. When she did see me, I could tell she was rushing. I got 2 small tattoos and both were disappointing. Because of the pre-ink, I couldn't tell until it washed off how inconsistent the lines are on one On the other tattoo, she didn't even put the lines across the "t"s. She had me in and out in about 10 mins and I paid the full price for the hour ($160) plus tip. I realize she was running behind but the service and quality was extremely disappointing.

Probably one of the best tattoo experiences I'll ever have! My artist Elisa was wonderful, both in the quality of her work and to chat with while she did it. She spent about an hour with me helping to revise the design to my liking, and had a light hand that made it easy to sit still for so long, even as someone getting their first tattoo while petrified of pain. Her lines are clean and sharp, and I'm still as thrilled with the end result a month later as I was the day I got it. I will happily be coming back for more from her in the future :)

Absolutely awful! Jen (I think her name is) did my tattoo on my arm and didn't even shave the spot first! Then she rushed through it and NONE of the lines are straight and it looks like she tried to do one line, messed up , then tried to do a different line! There are so many mistakes and extra lines that shouldn't be there and I'm very upset about it! I contacted them about it after speaking with a lot of other tattoo artists (and them saying I should get a full refund) and they said if I drove back (2 hour drive) someone could fix it. I can't drive up there just for it to be "touched up" and I don't trust them to do a good job! Lazy, sloppy work! They didn't answer me once I said I couldn't get back up there and now I have a good tattoo artist who will cover the whole mess up for me thank God. Do not go here.

Sometimes the front desk staff can be disrespectful to other staff but they don't draw clients into the drama. Prices are pretty high but the quality of work he provides is worth it.

Pretty great shop but the receptionists are unprofessionally moody and they won't do free touchups past 60 days even under special circumstances where you are visiting from out of town. Not happy with being told I would need to pay $150 for a touch up on top of the decent amount of money and large tip I already paid for my tattoo on the date I received it. I understand not doing touch-ups too far past the date but under special circumstances I would have thought that they could have been a little more accommodating.

From the moment I contacted the people at Atticus through email, I was treated with respect and caring. If more businesses ran like this, Canada would be number one. I'm was a virgin to tattooing but excited about the prospect. My design was ready and Josh, a most incredible professional introduced himself to me with confidence and a big smile. This is someone who really likes what he does, so much so that he mentors others to become skilled professionals. The shop is super clean and organized. It is private with professional furnishing and equipment. Josh is extremely efficient with an ability to apply his talent effectively to produce crisp results. He willingly answered all my questions about not only my tattoo process but about sharing some of the culture surround the art form today. After the process he took time to review in detail the after care process, gave me his care and encouraged me to call if I had any concerns or questions. The healing has been remarkable and the results are exactly what I wanted. I fear that this could be the start of something! Having the Atticus team to help be through this first time experience was the best I could have asked for. Thanks.

Got my tattoo filled up by Edwin. New to the company but has tattooed for 8 years. The place is clean and follows covid protocols. Getting into the parking lot took me two tries. The driveway beside the building is EXIT ONLY. Can't stress that enough. The driveway next is the ENTRANCE. You'll understand when you try to park in the slanted stalls. The lot is shared with two other businesses so hopefully you get a spot. I wasn't told this but when you get into the establishment, sign in your license plate and name and time of arrival and estimated time you're staying. Regarding the service. They actually follow their appointments on time! I know it was my first time there but it was a great impression. They are really busy so I appreciate their prompt service. The tattoo experience was awesome. As mentioned Edwin was filling up my Naga dragon and did a fantastic job. Really took care of me and even had time to do extra tats of my twins' name! I definitely recommend this place especially since they were able to get me in pretty quick and the artist was really conscious of making my tat look the way I wanted it. Thank you again. I think my next tat will be a full sleeve. Lol. Ask about the aftercare and lotion. Requires $100 non refundable deposit that will be used in addition to the hourly rate on your appointment.

This shop is pretty small, but the staff are super friendly. It was clean and well lit, everything was changed between clients and had a very welcoming feeling. They were ruining quite late which was a problem, as well as I definitely recommend being super specific with your artist just so you know that you're getting exactly what you want. I went with a friend, both artists were great, I personally saw Alex for a small piece on my chest. She did awesome and I'm in love with my new artwork. I'd consider returning for another piece later.

My first time getting a tattoo and I wouldn't have asked to go get it done anywhere else! Everyone was so nice from the receptionist, to the artist and even the cleaner(she had a mop okay)... I found this place as an instagram suggestion as I was already checking out other places in Calgary.. I found out they had a Tiny Tat Thursday and I just had to call in case it was a one day thing... And I'm glad I did.. They booked me on the spot and got it done on the same day... My appointment was at 5:30 but I understand Tiny Tat Thursday might get busy and no one wants anyone's tattoo rushed, so even if my appointment was delayed it was all still worth it... The artist I got was Josh, and he was very considerate knowing it was my first time... He did a quick swipe to help me give an idea of the pain and I just said "go for it"... He made sure the environment was friendly enough to a newbie like me.. And even my boyfriend who came with me(but didn't get a tattoo) said, if he ever wanted to get a tattoo it will be at that place... And I AGREE! Definitely going back there as I have the ink fever now.. I want MORE! Haha.. Thank you Atticus Tattoo! Thank you Josh! For making my first tattoo experience worth it! (I will post the photos when my tattoo has healed, the wrap is giving it a glare)

I originally wrote a good review but since my tattoo healed my thoughts have changed after getting a few second opinions. While I was getting a new tattoo at a different shop I pointed out to my artist the walk in tattoo I’ve gotten at atticus tattoo. She said it was done really poorly and looked as if they used a dark grey ink, not black which I had asked for.The lines didnt end up healing even at all, the thickness was different all over which may have been my bad. I’m honestly not sure. But was told otherwise by another professional. After speaking to other people as well they believe it was a rip off for them to charge me $160 for a tattoo no bigger than a dime/took barely 10mins to tattoo. Compared to other shops who charge less for even 30mins to an hour of work. Yes, I understand they need a base charge for supplies etc. but seriously..? The people who work here were nice when i went in, but also kind of rushing me out to get to the next client. I’m just not happy with my experience or the result. I was walking around with a tattoo that looked like it was drawn on with pen, and thankfully an artist at a different shop offered to redo it for FREE. I wouldn’t recommend this shop when there is so much competition in the city.

Story of a first tattoo.... was recommend to Atticus from a friend. Highly recommended - plus mention tiny tattoo Thursday, who doesn't love a sale. Me and my bestie decided to book in on a whim and get a tattoo together for my birthday. I called and found out they were closed. Sad, my bestie told me to FB message them. To my surprise, I got a message back even though it was after business hours. Done. Booked in. Show up to the spot the next day and greater by many friendly people. I am a previous client of Atticus tattoo having spend more than $5k on a sleeve tattoo with Chris Armstrong. On March 9 I called and asked to get an appointment with Jon, explained my prior history with Atticus , said I had purchased a template for a pec/sleeve Tatoo and hoped Jon could do the work. I was told he was busy but to please email the template and received a prompt reply saying I have sent this off to Jon for feedback and will be in touch soon :)'. Cue 13 days later, still no reply. I emailed a prompt and reminded them of my past history with Atticus (ie that I was a returning client) and disappointment I hadn't heard back on what most people would view as a great opportunity to do a full pec/sleeve. Heard back immediately with apologies that they had been busy and could fit me in immediately later this week. Those reading this review can make up their own assessments as to whether this 3/5 rating is appropriate but for context, the day I contacted Atticus, i also contacted two highly rated Calgary tattoo artists both of whom responded immediately...one to say that was not his style, and the other who scheduled an appointment for April 8. So one doesnt think Im making it up the the former was Chris Moniz and the latter id rather not name at this time but happy to do so after my scheduled appointment. If a service provider is too busy ...dont respond to a potential client with '..will be in touch soon'. However if that response was well intentioned and subsequently if circumstances change, at least do the courtesy of letting the client know that the artist is busy and a response will be delayed. Especially when the client is a returning client and offering serious work and especially when the client knows exactly what he wants and provides a full tattoo template in pdf ready for grafting. Other busy tattoo artists can deal with busy schedules but be client responsive ..but apparently not Atticus.

The best part of my experience was the artist Elisa. She is really friendly and excited to be there. This is a person you can tell loves her work. She is really talented and I can't wait to get more work done with her. By far the best part about Elisa is her gentle touch. She doesn't feel the need to drive the ink into your soul. It has been a few weeks since I was there. It healed really well and looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing her again.

I am so happy to share my glowing review!! This shop is awesome, and very clean. You can tell the staff dedicate countless hours to upkeep their cleanliness =) My artist Melanie Luther was the absolute coolest. This was my first tattoo and she helped my worries and anxieties melt away. I loved how I could ask her anything, even if the question was kinda silly! She's an amazing artist, and very fun to talk to! She walked me through the process and was very thorough with my aftercare instructions. My three hour session felt like an hour, it just zoomed by!! Seriously pumped, she took such great care of me, so I'm so excited to take the best care of my tattoo. I would reccomend this shop to everyone in my life! It's such an incredible place.

While the tattoos were good, i was quoted $130.00 for 2 tattoos that a friend and I got that took less than 5 minutes each to do. We were charged $130.00 each at the end of it which I think is a little outrageous especially when that wasn't stated in my initial booking.

We went to Atticus and got tattoos on the side of our foot and ankle. Within 2 weeks the tattoo on the foot was worn off to the point you can't can't read the words. The one on the ankle has faded and looks like it's from years ago. They do not provide touch ups for tattoos on the foot. We did have to sign a waiver stating some spots on the foot are not ideal for tattoos. But they did not verbally say anything to us about it being a poor location or that it would come off in a matter of weeks. Now I have this ugly blur of ink that no one can tell what it is... very unimpressed.

I got a tattoo a year and a half ago here with my friend on a whim. They did a walk in consultation and had the tattoos on us right after. The artist was amazing. I just got my septum pierced today there and I didn’t even feel it! I’m a huge wimp. But the piercing lady made it so easy and comfortable. In and out. Wonderful price. So clean and bright and friendly. It was a bit busy so I had to wait a bit, but what do you expect when you’re such a wonderful place! I’ll be back when I want to put more holes in my body for sure :)

Went for a tat with my sister, which took half an hour to do for each of us. Kaylie did the work and was really sweet and helpful. But.... we were charged for an hours time each, which we paid cash for, total for each hour is 162 and we were told there was no "change" and the shop couldn't break a $20 and asked if we would like to leave the rest as a "tip" with no other alternative given. So for 2 small, linework, black only tattoos the final tally was 350 , almost 40 of which were "tips" because the business can't give change. No receipt given by the way. A parting piece of advice, do NOT leave anything in your car in the parking lot! Our car and a few others were broken in to while we were inside.

I received my first tattoo by Ninna, I was nervous to have it done on my ribs but she was patient and calm and answered all my questions. She made me feel comfortable and when it came to the tattooing it barely hurt. She was able to make perfect lines even with the movement from my breathing. I recently had about 22 hours of tattooing done by Paul N. over several weeks. The end result was absolutely phenomenal. I couldn't be happier. The staff was prompt and courteous. They were able to accommodate my appointments to fit my schedule. The facility was clean and spotless. Their location was easy to get to with more than ample parking. I would highly recommend Paul N. and Atticus for any of your tattoo work and design. Top shelf service and excellent quality workmanship. 10 out of 10 in my books.

Was extremely excited about getting my first tattoo! I've head great things about this shop so decided to make an appointment. After making my appointment, the next day, they call me an hour b/f and say that they have to move my appointment for another time bc their rooms are overbooked which was extremely disappointing. Whoever was at the front desk did NOT even apologise for this mistake which had obviosuly meant that they did not care. Okay...so I let it go and moved my appointment for the next day. Next day they call me and cancel my appointment AGAIN!! Super disappointing!! I have had to reschedule all my plans for the entire 2 days and still did not end up getting my tattoo (even when I am sure it would have taken them 30min to do). I was also asked to send in an email of my design which I did right away asking for a response to see whether they received my images. NO REPLY. And then next day they call me and ask what it was that I wanted to get done. Very poor customer service. If you are determined to provide 5 star customer service, then please treat everyone FAIRLY and EQUALLY. The right thing to have done in that moment was offer a discount for another time and an apology, not call me "sweetheart" and offer me another appointment at 6pm when I had scheduled to come in at 5pm (which I am sure that you had called another person to cancel their appointment just bc I was upset about my cancels and had told you that you would not receive a good review). Definitely not the way I wanted my first tattoo experience to be. Please improve your customer service. And if customers and their reviews are very important to you, please call me back and fix your mistake instead of ignoring what you had done so that you can continue to provide 5 star customer service.

Got a tattoo done here about a year ago and now trying to find someone to fix it. ______ did an awful job of my tattoo, though her drawing looked awesome, the tattoo I came out with was terrible. Line work was messy, wasn't asymmetrical. Very disappointed with it.

I love it here! The parking is a little hard to find, but once you do, its really convenient! The artists are incredible. I've got my past 3 tattoos here and I'm in love with each of them and so happy with how they turned out. (if you're getting simple line work i would recommend going to Elena, she's so sweet) They will also match you with the best suitable artist for the tattoo you want. You can also get them done as a minor so long as your parent/guardian signs off (i got 2/3 of my tattoos before I was 18) The one issue I have had with this place is the costumer service at the front desk. They aren't communicative and it feels a little judgey. I sometimes will stand there confused as of what's going on looking for simple answers. Other than finding the parking lot and the front desk this place is an amazing, sanitary place to get your tattoos, I recommend!

I love this place! I got a tattoo by Kaylie about 4 months ago and a tattoo from Jen this month! They are both super professional and very nice, they make you feel welcome and keep a good conversation going when you are getting tattooed. Kaylie did an amazing flower piece for me which I love so much and it has healed very nicely! I picked up a flash piece from Jen which is also amazing and I can't wait to see it fully healed. I will definitely be back for future tattoos with these 2 ladies! The ladies at the front desk are also very nice and welcoming. The shop is very clean.

Went in for a tattoo and the service was rushed because they didn’t book enough time so I was left with a tattoo where the shading didn’t even reach the outline. The packing on the shading was so inconsistent as well as the outline had like that weren’t even touching so now there are just random outlines in the tattoo. Went in for a touch up because shading I can understand might change when it’s healing, but when I went in my arm wasn’t even sanitized or shaved it was just as rushed as the first time. After pointing out to the artist What should be touched up I could tell they were frustrated and they begin to basically reshade the entire tattoo in 5 minutes. If you want a good tattoo don’t go here without vetting your artist. I went here at first because my tattoo was a stencil tattoo, how could they possibly mess that up? Well they did. Prices aren’t even that cheap just go somewhere else not a single person I know has had a good experience.

Called Atticus in the morning and was able to get an appointment for the same day for me and my boyfriend to each get a small piece. We got Dana who was so sweet right off the bat. She had prepared a few versions and sizes of what I wanted based on the email that the owner suggested that I send in. The building itself is small but it is very clean amd cozy. Very poor communication skills. Changed my appointment lots. Set me up with another artist. I paid 250 dollars for a deposite that was never stated refundable. I don't see why it's not. I paid a deposite for a date that had been changed by themth should be entitled to have it back. Very rude management and the artist I was set up with afterwards, I didn't like his work. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Save ur time and money and go to somewhere that appreciates business.

JON IS AWESOME!! I did my research for a while on tattoo shops around Calgary and Atticus met all the criteria I was looking for: expertise, sanitary, reasonable price, and reputable. I had my appointment with Jon and was so anxious for my first tattoo, that I had him re-position the stencil 3 times. He was so patient and super nice. He made me feel comfortable and was lovely to talk to, which helped calm the “first tattoo” stress. Jon knows what he’s doing, and is very knowledgeable, skilled, and sanitary. I just got back from my first visit at Atticus Tattoo. This shop is amazing! I was immediately greeted with friendly smiles from the 2 ladies at the front desk. I requested a walk in appointment and was able to get in right away with Brian, one of their junior artists. Brian was excellent; professional, yet laid back and easy to talk to. He placed the two tattoos I wanted beautifully, and was gentle when working on me. I enjoyed his work so much, I’ve already put down a deposit for a larger cover up I’d like him to design. Atticus Tattoo is fantastic! I have had all three of my tattoos done there and all three experiences have been great. The facility is always clean, the owner and staff are extremely friendly, and their artists are beyond talented. My friend and I saw Elisa yesterday who was super efficient and had our last minute tattoo designs done within 10 minutes, gave really good feedback as to where she thought the placement of our tattoos should be, and was very thorough in explaining cleaning and tattoo after care procedures. Not to mention - both tattoos turned out beautiful! I would highly recommend her. I will definitely be back - great job, Atticus!

This was my third time coming here 2nd tattoo. Worked with Dana a different artist than I had the first time. She was amazing to work with from consultation to end of the actaul tattoo appointment. She listened to all the little things had brought up idea wise and out together the most beautiful portrait of my dogs I could have imagined. I only one main dog with 2 paws to add later and she incorporated bits of each of them that are so apparent. I really appreciate the thought and time she put into it. So basically, this place may have nice tattoos and very nice tattoo artists, however, the ladies at the front desk are very rude, not accommodating whatsoever, unprofessional, and seriously need to take a customer service course. Over the phone my friend was getting cuss words, sassy remarks, was told if she didnt like the way they did things she didnt have to come in. The conversation was about the fact that her mom had a deposit on a tattoo that she couldnt come in for and she wanted to use the deposit on her own tattoo. A lady yesterday said she could do that. But now today, she cant. The ladies are also claiming that she never spoke to him + the fromt desk yesterday, however she has proof that she did. When we got there, the owner was talking about her mom right in front of us with another employee. SO unprofessional. We also ended up waiting for an hour after we got there. Would not recommend this business all because of the front desk ladies (also, the owner at the front desk) . Utterly offended. Get your sh*t straight.

Tattoo was good but most unprofesional shop I've ever been to. I had to wait more than a hour (even though I had an appointment). The artist kept leaving for long periods of time for a cigarette break and then vapes inside the room. Then he stopped again to entertain a consultation, it was ridiculous. So I stayed there twice as long as I should have been and it was really late, which doesn't make me feel comfortable being there that late with nobody else around.

My sister and I have wanted always wanted a tattoo together but since I live in BC and she lives in Calgary it's been hard. I went and visited her last weekend and we decided we wanted it then because we didn't know when we'd see each other next. We phoned Atticus asking about walk in time and the fact that I was only in town for a few days and they got us in the next day. The shop was super clean and the ladies at the front were really kind. Our artist was running a little behind but we had no problem with it, they were busy and we were walk ins. Both of us commented on how much we liked the fact they have individual rooms as we've only ever been to shops that do not in the past. Our artist Sami was so professional and did such a good job. She treated us with so much respect and re- sterilized her entire space before tattooing my sister after myself. Highly recommend.

me and my friend got tattooed here back in july and my experience was not good at all. we should have known that our experience would not have been good after we had our appointment booked for 2 and we waited 2 hours to finally get started. we had megan do our tattoos and in hindsight i should have done more research, but for a professional tattoo shop we expected something that was higher quality and nice. the stencils created by the apprentices were beautiful and it looked great when placed on, however the tattoo artist did not know what she was doing. the colours are bleeding, the lines look like scribbles made from a ballpoint pen and it is so messy. i was charged over 200$ for two tiny tattoos (one on my rib and hip) and it took over 1 hr and 30 min because the tattoo artist would keep leaving in and out - one time even leaving for over 10-15 minutes after applying my stencil cause it had to “dry out”. the time and money would have been worth it however our tattoos came out so terrible. we came back a week later to talk to the manager hoping to get a refund. however, we were unable to get a refund but we were promised a free coverup. the manager also said the tattoos were bad because the tattoo artist had a “bad reaction to a new medication” which is extremely unprofessional and could possibly put customers in danger. there was no accountability and excuses were made for every issue that we had. the manager told me to email them a week later with images so that a different tattoo artist could create a coverup. i emailed them and it took them over 10 days to reply after i emailed them again. she called after and said in the next few days she will send an image of coverup ideas and it has now been over 2 weeks since that was promised. basically i got my tattoos in the beginning of july and it has been over a month since i was promised a better experience and a better tattoo and i have received none of those. i will not be coming back and i do not recommend this shop or our artist megan. i have spoken with many other tattoo artists and they said that it was extremely overpriced, unprofessional and a bad tattoo. such a waste of time, money and pain. there are many more qualified tattoo shops that are cheaper and provide a much more friendly environment. atticus promises and guarantees customer satisfaction but my experience here has proven otherwise. i have included the reference photos and the photos of my tattoos and i hope you let the photos speak for themselves.

Tattoo was well done, but very expensive. Paid $180 for a small wrist tattoo and they only do free touch ups within 60 days which is ridiculous. They charge $150 for a touch up after the 60 day period ends, which is even more ridiculous. I would not go back as I can get the same quality done for a more reasonable price and a free touch up period of 6 months instead.

Had such a great experience for my first tattoo! I sent in a design and got paired up with Cam who is just getting his career to take off but he did an amazing job. I had a few additions wanted to the original design on the day of the tattoo and he made it work seamlessly. Getting the tattoo itself was a little intimidating at first but he made it a very comfortable and smooth experience from start to finish. I’ve booked tattoos for myself and my husband with a certain artist, that artist left Atticus few days before our booking. I didn’t get any phone call or whatsoever from them. I had to call them myself to ask for deposit to be returned. I was told by their manager Michelle that deposit is non refundable and I should book with another artist. Well guess what, I booked with atticus specifically because of that artist and I don’t want just anyone to do our tattoos. I communicated that to Michelle and she chose not to respond to my email. Atticus, please be more professional!!! And when it’s your fault, admit it and return the deposit. Very unpleasant experience and would not come back to you guys!

Waited years thinking about a tattoo and found Atticus. Walked in for a consult and just waited a little while to see someone. Shop is clean, well laid out and lots of parking in the back. Went over the design I wanted with artist Megan. She was super friendly, helpful and provided great design advice. Day of tattoo she was great. Her tools were sanitary and well kept. Watched her unwrap her machine and needles from sealed packaging. She was funny and considerate to the fact I'd not had a tattoo before. Found out after I had the tattoo that other people I knew had been there and they had good experiences as well. Would recommend this shop and of course, specifically Megan.

I had Chris A as my artist, and although I have yet to go back to finish my tattoo, I was blown away at what he could do in 3 hours. The tattoo is super intricate and detailed and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. He is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and attention to detail. I’d recommend anybody to go here, especially to Chris A. 10/10 experience.

Concisely, I do not recommend this shop, I will never go back here, & I will not be shy about sharing my own experience about Atticus with others considering I left with a botched tattoo & was accused of stealing a touch up service by a desk worker (Michelle), even though I confirmed with a different receptionist that the touch-up appointment will be free days prior to coming in. The story is: I received a red ink script tattoo from an artist Heather, who was working there in Feb 2020. I followed her aftercare to a T (this was not my first tattoo either) & the script healed terribly. 1 letter of the word had noticeably scarred & it was virtually illegible due to the thickness of the lettering. Imagine my disappointment with such a sentimental tattoo that was trusted at this shop, with this artist. Fast forward one year later when I was tired of trying to ignore/hide this tattoo that I honestly was embarrassed about & so disappointed with, I reached out to the shop via Instagram direct message to see if they would be able to offer me anything considering the indisputable mistake that the artist made when tattooing me initially. They invited me to come in for one hour with their senior artist Jon, who was going to go over it with black ink. They called me a few days before my appointment asking me to send over a $150 deposit for my session which I declined & said something around the lines of "I'm not interested in paying anything just considering the circumstances- I dmed you guys on instagram explaining why I'm coming in & because I believe what happened to me initially was a big mistake I really do not need to keep the appointment if there will be a charge" . The girl on the phone replied with "oh you're the girl with the red ink tattoo on your hip? Yes I remember you dmed us, no that will be just fine there's no charge, see you when you come in". I arrived one the day of the appointment & Jon had a look at it in real life he told me word for word "wow, heather really butchered this". He mentioned it's likely I will have to come back for touch ups & I was cool with that. However, immediately after I walked out of the shop after the service one of the receptionists called me, Michelle, and she cleary was not in agreeance that the work Jon just did for me should be at no charge & was very obviously not believing me when I assured her the girl I spoke with on the phone days prior clarified that that would be at no charge. She made me feel like I was trying to steal a service from the shop. She asked me the name of the girl I was saying I spoke to, when I did not remember, she snapped "well just so you know getting a free "touch up" for a tattoo over a year old is NOT something we do here and not how we do things". I tried to again explain but it was clear she felt the way she felt. In addition to this terrible experience with Michelle, for the senior artist to literally admit to me that my tattoo was "butchered" & still expect me to pay for them to fix it- especially from a business standpoint, is beyond me.. but that is my personal opinion. I sent a follow up email asking where we go from here, as I would never have gone back in for them to ‘fix it’ if they were going to expect payment for my appointment & every necessary touch up thereafter; instead I seriously would have preferred to just start the removal process. I sent a very kind & direct email asking to speak to the owner & re-explained how I felt quite disrespected considering having to argue with Michelle about my touch up service & found that quite unprofessional. I gave them yet another chance to smooth it over with me & they chose to not do so. It has been twenty business days & they have not responded to my email. I am simply not willing to pay them for a mistake one of their artists made permanently on my body & as such my removal will be even more money now with this black ink on top that. Again- had I known this would change, I never would have come in again.

My daughter had gotten her nose pierced on her 14th Birthday. We had an appointment booked for 7:00 pm because I was told walk-in were not welcome when I called. We arrived at 6:55 and signed in. We waited and waited finally I went to the reception desk to ask what was going on and I was told that just before we got there they had 6 walk-ins and were doing them first. I was not happy, we finally got in for her piercing at 7:45. The lady my daughter was given for the piercing was not a people person, not very comforting at all. My daughter was a bit nervous and tried to ask a few question. This lady just kept saying "I don't know, I don't , come on lets get this done" I was shocked at how this person treated my daughter. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Customer service sucked really bad.

I highly recommend Jon! He is amazing! My daughter and I booked our tattoos not knowing which artist we should go with. We were directed to Jon. We were both a bit Leary especially my daughter since it was her first tattoo. Jon right away made us feel as ease. He did exactly what we wanted him to do. The tattoos turned out perfectly. I booked a second tattoo for a week later. Again Jon was amazing. He has a way of calming you and making you feel at ease. He is very personable and did exactly what I wanted. I would have given this place a 5* rating minus the check out process. I was very disappointed in the service when paying my bill. My bill was $109.20, I gave them $110.20, and they were confused at how much change to give me, and almost did not want to give me my change. I had another $20.00 bill to give directly to my artist, as she was amazing! Then the owner, I believe took out her own wallet, making me almost feel dumb for asking me for the change back from the total amount. I should not be expected to tip the fee. That makes no sense. A bit more professionalism as well would have been nice. You can teach skills, but either you are born with customer service skills, or you are not. Obviously the management thinks this is normal. I will be coming back only to see Megan as she was wonderful and her work is amazing! But again, the front desk could use a bit of tact when dealing with patrons.

My friend and I went to Atticus Tattoo today (booked the appointment months in advance) and we were very excited. We booked in with Ninna and her tattoos looked amazing so we had high hopes. We got there 5 minutes early and we kept being told “10 more minutes” over and over. By the time we had finally got in with Ninna an hour and a half had passed. This was frustrating but we were just happy to get our tattoos done. Ninna had nothing prepared even though we had sent our ideas to her in an email (again, months in advance). She said she wanted to freestyle which I was not cool with. She then left for another 25 minutes to come back with something completely different than what I had wanted. So I found a different tattoo I liked . When it was my turn I specifically told her that I wanted a part of the tattoo to have red lines. I said this twice and even outlined the part that I wanted red with my finger. I NEVER said filled in. As I’m sitting there I realize she’s started going over the part I wanted in red with black ink. I stopped her and told her that is not what I wanted. She thought I wanted the red to be filled in. She apologized and tried giving me ideas of what we could do which I did not want at all. She then said “ well weren’t you watching me?”. WHAT? Girl. No. I can’t see past your hand and I made it clear. It’s your job not mine. Extremely disappointed. I do like the tattoo but I wish it had been what I wanted. She is a good artist but my experience was disappointing to say the least. Also no discount just a free second skin. Do better Atticus tattoo. I left crying. I will not be recommending this place to anyone. Have a great day.

First Memorial Tattoo I have gotten in honour of my daughter who passed away when she was 2. Yesterday she would have turned 5, and i decided to get her last hand print we took before she passed tattooed on my arm. Not only was ALL the Staff welcoming, they were more then understanding of how difficult of a decision this was for me. Murray was so amazing with allowing me to take as many photos as i wanted throughout the process, shared with me what detail would look best. Why he was using different needles. His detail and shading is impeccable. He seriously made this experience a memorable one. I am more then in love with my tattoo, and can’t wait to go back to get more.

I chose Atticus based on the positive reviews and the receptionists recommended Dana (who was also the artist I suspected would be best based off her bio and portfolio on their website) for the style of tattoo I wanted. I live a few hours out of town so all communication with the shop and with Dana was by phone or email and all was very timely and clear. I was quite particular with what I wanted and Dana was sooo so patient. She kept making the necessary edits to the drawing until we got it just right. She never made me feel like a colossal pain in her a** although I’m certain it was frustrating at times. My experience the day of the tattoo couldn’t have been more comfortable. It was a Saturday evening and the shop was busy but there was plenty of free parking at the back and the receptionists handled the intakes with an organized, and friendly demeanour. The shop was very clean as well. In person Dana was extremely friendly and professional. She rocked it out perfectly in exactly the amount of time she quoted me. All of her work is gorgeous! Such a talented lady. Additionally, all of the other interactions I witnessed between other artists and clients appeared to be positive. This was by far my favourite, largest, most artistic, and personal tattoo to date, and it is all with thanks to the team at Atticus and especially Dana. I would not hesitate to recommend both to anyone seeking a great tattoo.

The second I got was from Elisa, at 100 an hour, and she also did a BRILLIANT job, I received the first ????eye she'd done and she KILLED IT!!! I have 2 more in the works for a sleeve, and will continue to get my work done here. Also, just wanted to say that the front desk is very respectful, helpful and willing to make it work!! Arranged a tat for my son’s 18th. I told the recep that it was his first ink and to set him up with an experienced artist. My son sent them design he liked. Shop set him up with George, appointment was booked and deposit paid. ($160) Here’s where it all went sideways. Son went to his appointment on time. After about an hour and a half my son texted that George was about to “start” tattoo! George had nothing ready in advance! The next two hours was doing outlines till his time was up. I sent in payment ( plus tip as son didn’t say anything!!! What a waste of money) and my son left. When I saw the results of 3.5 hours and $625 I was shocked to say the least!!!! ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL!!! The outline is about 2/3 done only! I called in to discuss. Left message with Nicole that I was extremely unimpressed and that I wanted to complain. Told her to have George or manager call me. Michelle , the manager, returned the call. Offered no solution other that to send my son back for another three hours…to fix up! George didn’t have the &$@%# I guess to call and explain. All in all the worst experience I’ve had getting or arranging ink. I WOULD’NT recommend GEORGE as an artist! I WOULDN’T recommend Atticus as a shop to get art as the managers response to my complaint was less than a “ WHATEVER”. No working with the client at all from Michelle at all…she could care less about you. PS. I should have known something was amiss at the shop when my son called to tell me he was on way. In the background there was some lady screaming blue bloody murder at the staff. Son said the police were called. I know stuff happens but when clients get this mad maybe the staff should ask themselves “ Maybe we have F#%ked up!!” Admit it and work to fix it without double dipping the clients Just my take on the shop..,buyer beware!!

I went to Atticus the for the first time yesterday to get matching tattoos with my sisters, the process was super easy and straightforward. I emailed them two days before we wanted the tattoos and they responded quite quickly and got me all set up in no time. The shop itself is so charming and very clean, all the tattoo rooms are private and the room I was in was very clean and comfortable. Our tattoo artist Elisa was probably the best part of the whole experience. She was very kind and super talented. Her enthusiasm to see us and her ability to talk to clients and make them feel comfortable was amazing. I have gotten tattoos before at different shops and Elisa was the most personable artist I have ever met. All three tattoos took about 2.5-3 hours, but we were all allowed to stay in the waiting area, Elisa always made sure that we were comfortable and adjusted to fit our needs (very considerate). The receptionists were also quite nice and got us all ready to go in no time. Overall, this shop is one of the best in Calgary and because of how great Elisa and the shop are, I don't think I would go anywhere else for a tattoo. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to get a tattoo done or a piercing to go to Atticus.

Very bad experience, poor management, wasted time. Stupid front desk people I confirmed my appointment with the front desk lady on email, she asked for deposit and said i will pay inperson only. The she put me on hold and asked her owner and replied me that its okay you can pay inperson, u r booked for 5pm. Today I called again at 3:30 pm just to confirm the address and my booking, she said yes come in at 5pm I went the at 4:45pm, waited about 15 mins then they guy came to me ( john name i guess) and said sorry i am behind my schedule, cant make ur tattoo today, that was very rude answer I asked if u r late then why don’t u informed me earlier now i have come about 30kms and now u r saying i cant get tattoo today, I asked the lady why didn’t she informed me, she said i forgot. Nothing can be done now. I am writing this review so that the owner can read and teach them to do their jobs properly, everyone here is short of time , today u wasted my time. Reply: No I didn’tsaid anything bad to ur artist only thing i asked why u wasted my time. Yes the front desk lady replied that she forget to inform No, u didn’t tell me that on phone, if this was the case u should have told me that i am booked as a walk-in client, but no , u confirmed me for 5pm Walk-ins don’t need appointments before 2 days , don’t lie again The word is used is “stupid” which is appropriate because you people wasted my time that day

I thought that Megan the tattoo artist was so amazing, took her time, was personable, and so awesome. When it came to paying we got the 2 most rudest girls. That know nothing about customer service and act like they are better then everyone. With out your tattoo artist you girls would not be where your at today. Maybe respect your artist a little bit more and make the WHOLE experience good

Atticus Tattoo is an outstanding shop! I walked in hoping to speak with someone regarding tattoo inks and possible complications due to a nickel allergy. Josh immediately answered my questions and went out of his way to test and confirm which inks were safe and completed a spot allergy test. I went ahead with the consultation and got my first tattoo! Josh did an absolutely amazing job on the design and execution. All things considered the process and tattoo was a breeze. I had piece of mind from start to finish. I couldn't be more happy! I have never been so furious!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you pay $150 you expect quality work and this is by far from it! as soon as it started to heal i thought it looked patchy although i assumed it was apart of the healing process. here we are 3 weeks later and this is what im left with ! After phoning and complaining about the faulty work i was told it was my fault for not purchasing the aftercare kit. Even though i cared for it proficiently and did everything they suggested i do. This tattoo shop everyone should stay clear away from they are obviously not professionals and show 0 care for there customers after they have left the shop unless you return with dollars in hand!!

Piercing review: 4/5 the lady was nice, knowledgeable and fast. I love the placement but the balls of my jewelry have fallen off so many times I can't even keep track anymore and I've never had this problem before. I lost a full piece of jewelry before I even had it in a week so next time I would ask if I could bring my own sterile jewelry. Tattoo review: 5/5 absolutely could not be happier. Kaylie was amazing to work with! She brought my ideas to life and then made them even better! Gentle touch, gorgeous work and very honest about the cost and time frame we would need. The whole time I was very comfortable and she made sure to make any adjustments or accommodations I needed! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for some beautiful art!

I went in for my first tattoo today with Jenny and honestly I was blown away by her work. I've always appreciated it but her tattoos are phenomenal and she will only grow from here. Aside from just being overall impressed with the artist (and all the others I saw there) everyone was super friendly and helpful and you can tell they all really care about their work and keeping things friendly but also professional. The whole place was incredibly clean and accommodating, definitely going back. :)
