They say good things come to those who wait and I am so very happy that I waited to find the best tattoo studio to get my first tattoo. I had the honored of getting my tattoo done by Ashley Apok at Rainfire Tattoo. Ashley was very open to my design suggestions and he created an amazing personalized piece for me. While I was a little nervous about getting my first tattoo Ashley and Katia were very supportive in the experience. I found that the studio instilled a certain feeling of calmness throughout process. Thanks to the amazing music selection, offerings of tea and comfortable silence the whole process went smoothly. Looking forward to getting some more beautiful work done by these amazing artists.

I went to Rainfire Tattoo back in October 2018 and had a wonderful experience! I was able to get an appointment very quickly (I requested a small-ish tattoo for my forearm), within a couple weeks of getting in contact with the shop. I had just recently had a tattoo done by the incredible Katia Somerville and am very pleased with the result. I had been looking specifically for an artist that had experience with the brush stroke looking style of tattoo and though that style was not a specialty previewed by Katia on her website, I trusted her artwork enough to know that she would take special care in producing my tattoo. My instincts were spot on as my tattoo turned out even better than I expected. She took into consideration the small adjustments that I wanted to make during the consultation which resulted in the beautiful tattoo I have now. The tattooing experience itself was very relaxing. The atmosphere at Rainfire Tattoo is relaxing and has the feel of a spa. Jocelyn at the front desk is just as lovely and friendly as Katia and makes you feel as if you are talking amongst friends during the whole process. Katia had also given me an information sheet about techniques to lessen the pain and it worked like a charm! She was also kind enough to do a test poke for me (as this was my first tattoo) before the actual tattooing as per my request. Overall a lovely experience and would be happy to be tattooed by her again in the future.

After many talks with friends about what getting a tattoo felt like, I was a little apprehensive about getting mine. However going to the Rainfire Tattoo initially for the consultation and then for the tattoo appointment itself I knew that with the relaxed atmosphere that I chose the right place. When I got to the the tattoo appointment Katia gave me a article to read about different techniques in order to relax during the appointment. I found it really helped and was able to take in the experience, to not remember it as pain, but as a unique sensation. As for the tattoo itself Katia couldn't have done a better job at bringing my idea to life than either myself or anyone else could have. There is no doubt that I will go back for my next tattoo.

Katia was my tattoo artist, and she offered a meditation session prior to getting the tattoo that really set the tone for the entire experience. A friend referred me to Rainfire tattoo a few months back. After a little while, I contacted Felix to book a session and do some design work. While I was a bit worried about the drive from Seattle, Once I got to the studio, all my anxieties washed away. The first one was a really hard one, improving an old tattoo that nobody wanted to touch (really, I was about to give up when I found her). She is a great tattoo artist and she really listens to you and understands tattooing as a collaborative work, she loves giving life to people's ideas! I have nothing but positive things to say!

I've received several tattoos from multiple artists at Rainfire Tattoo and I'm absolutely in love with the studio, its artists and their artwork. So much thought and care goes into the customer service, their designs, the atmosphere and the overall client experience of getting tattooed. It's unlike any other tattoo studio I've been to; it's entirely unique and so special. I would recommend getting tattooed here to anyone.

I appreciated the time taken into rejecting me in the most polite way possible - however, I feel like its pretty discriminatory to middle and lower income people to only take large pieces and charge so high. 180/hr is very high. I'm an artist and I value my time and I have a large respect for other artists' time but I don't believe your time is worth 100$ more per hour than mine. Even so, I was open to saving up for a piece - and despite being open to getting a design inspired by some elements in something I already have in mind, I was basically shut down because I want to spend 500$ or less on the inside of my forearm black only. This is overly priced - I do not have any tattoos yet, but I have friends with extensive, really high quality work who also agree the rate is too high. My tattoo is very important to me because it will cover some subtle scars that remind me of a tough time in my life - I have a family now and I don't want the stigma of these scars to haunt me and give people a reason to pity or disrespect me for the rest of my life. I only have a short window of opportunity to get this done - I will have to find a shop and artist that is willing to put their ego aside for the happiness and satisfaction of the client who is paying a LOT. It makes me wonder if i had some 'deformity' or birth mark or had been in a tragic accident , if I wouldnt be able to get someone to do the tattoo on me because it wouldn't showcase the artist's work like they want.... I am pretty devastated but Im going to keep looking. I am not really impressed with the choices in vancouver besides this shop - which has a great gallery, so I may have to travel. 1-2 stars... bummed.

I had a fantastic experience getting my first tattoo from Faye at Rainfire. She was a joy to work with through the consultation process. My sister and I wanted to get tattooed together, and we gave her a pretty loose framework of what we were looking for. The design she came up with was perfect on the very first shot. Both my sister and I loved the sketch. On the day of the tattoo, my sister and I ended up wanting slightly different placements (inside of ankle vs. outside), and Faye worked with us to make sure that the design worked with our bodies and that the placement was perfect. It's now three weeks later, and healing has been going smoothly with no issues at all. The shop itself was very clean and had a really nice atmosphere. Everyone working that day was friendly and professional. Thanks again Faye! It was an awesome experience getting my first tattoo from you!

I had such an amazing experience at this shop. My artist was Bekki Lana. From the moment I walked in she welcomed me at the door and continued to show professionalism about the safety protocols and steps that were being taken to ensure a safe and clean work space. I got her to design me a crow with crescent moon and some background of her design. She nailed it outta the park with the design and placement on my arm. The entire time we were tattooing she was talking to me and we chatted about everything from tattoos to life and just like that my tattoo was over. Time flew by and she killed it on the piece. I can’t express how happy I am with not only my beautiful tattoo but the entire experience of how I was treated from when I first messaged to book a session to finishing and leaving the shop. This is the very first time that I feel like I need to go write a review based on my bad experiences back to back from the same studio. I initially booked an appointment with Faye, after I received her first pass which was one day right before the appointment, I wanted to work out some details about the posture of the fox as apparently it wasn't a good looking one at all, then she rejected me saying that she didn't feel like doing animals but only wanted to focus on flowers(she told me she liked animals idea from previous email). I told her I don't mind doing only flowers if she wanna free style a new one on whatever she feels like because I trusted her. Well then the night before my next appointment I got this second pass that I decided not to do it as I could easily tell that she spent no more than 20 mins on it even though I'm not an artist. Therefore, I went with another artist Amelie in the same studio, and 3 weeks after she took the deposit, I received her email said how she's over-full and very selective that she had to pass on my project. I understand how they could be super busy and stay behind from a lot of bookings. However, the way how they handled it is super unprofessional and unacceptable. I feel it's so discriminatory how they play favoritism. Like you could have turned me down in the first place but not wasted me almost 3 months time back and forth and pass on my project. This is preposterous and made me so upset, I definitely don't recommend this studio.

Not the kind of behaviour you'd expect from a reputable business!

What an excellent experience I had at Rainfire Tattoo :) I had a tattoo cover up which was challenging, but Katia overcame the challenge and now I have a beautiful tattoo in place of the old one. Have had two tattoos done here now and am going back next month for a third. By far, the best tattoo shop I've been too. It's peaceful, quiet, an all over beautiful place. The artists are wonderful and make you feel super comfortable. And their artwork is fantastic!! They are true artists!!

This is by far, my absolute favorite atmosphere to be tattooed in. Staff is kind and welcoming. Shop is always spotless. I have visited once or twice a year for the last 7 or 8 years, and it has been consistently lovely. I have mostly been tattooed by the owner, Katia. Her demeanor is calm and kind. What a relaxing experience, especially if your nervous about being tattooed. She takes the time for a short meditation beforehand you can set your intentions, if you're interested. Ash took the time to understand what I was looking for in my piece and created a personalized piece that incorporated his personal style as well as my desires. It was well worth the wait for the wonderful mandala that he designed and placed on my body. The studio is warm and inviting and there was an incredible calmness and serenity about the environment and experience. Katia and the lovely receptionist were very welcoming when I arrived at the studio. The beauty of the studio matches that of the artists and I feel privileged to have been tattooed at such a beautiful spot by such a talented artist.

I recently saw Faye at Rainfire for the first time. I was worried about getting an appointment because they don’t have a phone but she responded back to my email within a week and I was in for a consult a week later, and had my tattoo done a few weeks after that. The studio is cute and very welcoming, Katia was so kind and friendly and Faye was so lovely! So excited I found a great artist that I can actually book with! She did such a fantastic job on my tattoo, exactly what I wanted if not better. She was also really quick, and it didn’t cost me my whole bank account. And she is so sweet and easy to talk to. The staff is awesome, and everyone makes the experience super relaxed. A downfall is that there's no separate room to get tattooed, it's all one open space. They use floor screens for privacy, which doesn't do much. Otherwise, it's very clean and a really nice studio.

I cannot even begin to describe the level of contention I have with my tattoo. I had unfortunately tattooed my ring finger and required a cover up which is an embarrassing and emotional process. Paul, the artist who worked on it made it the best experience. He is extremely personal and professional and made an emotionally hard piece to cover a seamless and therapeutic process . I just received a tattoo of a prayer labyrinth and tree by Katia and she is an unbelievably talented artist. I had a tattoo design in my head that I wanted for several years. I approached several tattoo artists throughout this time and none of them wanted to take my tattoo project on due to its location and detail. After searching for a year I luckily stumbled upon Katia and found that she was totally willing to take on my idea and worked with me to design my tattoo. It was meant to be, she got me in, in a timely manner and my tattoo ended up even better than I had originally envisioned it due to Katia’s talent. Now I can’t show someone else my tattoo without them loving it and asking me where I got it. She is also very good at channelling the emotions you are looking for into her art and your tattoo. I highly recommend her and I hope I will be able to receive another tattoo from her in the future.
