I just had an appointment with Jon for my septum piercing and was absolutely thrilled with how it went. It was my first time visiting this location and the shop was very clean and a good environment to be in overall. Jon was a delight to talk to throughout the extremely quick process. I have to give my feedback in the hope that the staff will take note and maybe make a change. Everything about the piercing process was smooth and comfortable. The piercer was wonderful and friendly, appointment was on time. However, the jewellery stocked by the shop is an issue. I have several piercings, and have had my ears pierced since I was a kid. I have an extensive jewellery collection. I got a second lobe piercing, and I have NEVER had a pair of earrings catch on fabric so easily. I don't just mean due to carelessness...I mean, SEVERAL times I've been woken up when turning in my sleep because one of the studs got caught on the fabric of my pillowcase. Needless to say, this isn't great for fresh piercings. In the least, it hurts, but I'm sure it also slows the healing process due to repeated and unnecessary irritation and potentially ripping of the new skin. When I went in for my appointment, I was shown the selection and asked if there were simple metal ball studs, and was told they were sold out. The only option was a claw-set "crystal." Please, please stock extra of the metal balls, and consider changing the brand of the crystal style studs you use for new piercings. Well-designed jewellery for new piercings shouldn't hinder the healing process and cause the wearer pain and stress! Thanks. ????

Way overpriced. I booked a piercing appointment on a Wednesday for their 30$ special. I knew the price did not include jewellery, but in my experience usually the base studs/hoops aren't more than 20$. After I arrived and filled out the forms, it came time to pick out my jewellery. I was told the cheapest option they had was 45$. I was shocked, but I either got the piercing or I lose out on my deposit. I had already driven there and been waiting weeks for my appointment so I went through with it. On top of that, they charge an EXTRA 5$ fee for PPE. Including tax and tip, it came out to over 100$ for one piercing. I've had many piercings done before at many other shops, and to advertise a "30$ special" knowing the actual price is 100$ is misleading, wrong and unfair to customers who have often prebooked their appointments...The service was okay but definitely not worth the 100$ when I could have easily gone elsewhere for 40$ piercings and gotten TWO for the same price if I had simply known the true cost beforehand.

Great experience with this shop. I've recieved many piercings at a variety of places in town, but Faith has by far made my recent piercing experience the most pleasurable. This store is very clean and she really took the time to make sure that we understood the process and cleanliness of the tools she was working with. Got my nose pierced by Kevin a few days ago. Kevin was very informative and the piercing seems to be healing without issue. A few days after I got the piercing done the ring broke, so I went back and I think his name was John was very informative and changed it as quickly and painlessly as possible. They did not charge me for the new ring or changing it. Very happy and will definitely be going back in the future. Best place I’ve been for a piercing in a long time. A little pricy, but worth it.

Let me start off by saying that I had never been to this place but had booked an appointment for a piercing for my daughter. I couldn't make it with her so I end up sending my sister thats an adult. The guy in the front desk was friendly and was trying to help by letting them know nicely that they needed me to come in but he didn't know at first. He asked another female that works there and her tone and how she answered my daughter and sister was really rude. The fact that they didn't explain to them why they won't allow anyone else and the fact they couldn't suggest to reschedule when your mom can come in. My sister even suggested to FaceTime or call me and they rudely rejected without any explanation. Honestly I know everyone has their days at work but when my excited teenage daughter comes for a piercing and you don't even explain why she can't get it right there and then, its pretty upsetting that no one tries to accommodate any other way. I will not want to go there at all now. Not for nothing but if you don't make a good first impression with a costumer then that's it for me.

I booked my first piercing with Steel n Ink after hearing many great things from my friends around Hamilton. I booked my appointment with Kevin, and was excited after hearing about many positive experiences with him. I was told he was comforting, and gave great after-care instructions. When I arrived for my 4pm appointment, the woman at reception was eating. I feel like I interrupted her when I walked in. She asked what jewellery I wanted, we picked it out, and I paid before-hand. I let her know that I had an appointment with Kevin, but I was rushed to the back and he was not there. The woman at reception ended up piercing my nose. I wanted to film this one-in-a-lifetime experience for my family to see since my partner and sister could not join me in the room my piercing, but the employee said I was not allowed to film myself with my phone in my lap because I needed to "sit still". I missed out on filming something I will never get to capture again. She had me sit down, and didn't walk me through what she was doing after picking the spot and showing me the placement. After it was done, I was not given clear after care instructions. My eyes were watering uncontrollably and I wasn't even offered a tissue. The whole process was rushed, and I felt let down and VERY uncomfortable the entire time. After the piercing was done, the woman from reception (didn't even tell me her name, maybe Faith?) rushed back to eat her food. Again, it felt like I was interrupting her dinner and she was just rushing back to eat. If I did not pay before-hand, I would not have given a tip for this service. My sister had her nose pierced a few years back (elsewhere) and I watched her have an amazing walk-through. I was given a one star experience at Steel n Ink, and now will not be able to recommend this place to my friends in future. Please ALWAYS do your research before choosing a location as tattoos and piercings are on your body for life. I didn't even properly know how to care for mine after this appointment. Super disappointed. I wish I had chosen somewhere else for my piercing after this experience. The one star I am giving is simply because she placed my piercing in a good spot and I am happy with the look.

I got two helix piercings today by Kevin, and even though I am absolutely TERRIFIED by needles, it was honestly SUCH a good - and amazingly quick - experience~! ???? The lady at the front desk, and Kevin were both super helpful, and friendly. ???? Kevin was really accomodating when I said I was scared of needles, and kept them out of sight, and warned me before he did anything; both piercings ended up being really quick, and surprisingly really painless, too??? ???? ALSO, he was very thorough with explaining the all aftercare, and answered all the questions I had. ???? All in all, I had a really good experience, and would definitely recommend them to anyone who was considering getting a new piercing!! ???? (COVID-wise, they were also very on top of sanitizing everything, which is great ????)

I got my septum pierced by kevin and he pierced it way too low, wasnt properly done he told me i wouldnt be able to flip it up due to the shape of my nose but in reality it was just that he didnt do it right! He was nice and everything but wouldn't recommend getting a septum done by him. I got it repierced by faith and its great im really happy with it now

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS GET PIERCED BY FAITH I just got my second forward helix pierced by Faith at this location yesterday night. She is the ONLY piercer I trust fully and will always continue to go back to and use. I have been following her around Hamilton since 2016, and the ONLY times when I would be unfortunately forced to go elsewhere to get done is when she took a break piercing. Do not waste your time going to the other piercer at this location, ONLY use Faith. I have never had a bump or keloid with her work, and it is trusted 1000% of the time. She is amazing, patient and will take the time to bond with you and get to know you as her client rather then rushing in and out. Please use her, you WILL NOT be sorry

I’ve had nothing but great experiences with the Guelph location which is why I’ve choose to try out the Hamilton location after moving here. The first time I booked my appointment I got to the appointment on time and the piercer wasn’t even there and I left without getting my service. I rebooked because I decided to give it another shot. The day of my scheduled appointment they tell me the piercer won’t be in. Two weekends in a row this is poor customer service.

I made an appointment with faith, in Guelph. They changed my appointment time but Nobody told me she wasn't going to be in so I drove out there for no reason as I only wanted a female piercer. I then made an appointment for brenna at the Hamilton location. They called me the night before and left a msg on my vm saying they're not doing piercing under masks which is fine, but nothing else was said. They called back in the morning and then told me brenna also called in sick. Complete bs I will not be recommending them. I'll be going elsewhere.

Was in the mall and I came across this tattoo location, it was near closing time. Maybe about 5 minutes to, and I came in & wanted to respectfully inquire given the short time frame they were open about pricing & how I can see their work. The "Manager" apparently, a woman with tattoos, was extremely unwelcoming, annoyed, spoke with energy get out of my store.I was like How are you? Her reply "fine what do you want?" I'm all about great customer service as I have my own business. From that one first impression I would never go back, treat everyone with respect because you do not know who you're speaking to.

I am quite impressed with the precautions they take during piercing. They clearly advised me to have a proper meal and bring government-issued photo id proof.

Booked appointment well in advance for my mother and I for Christmas. Got the run around about my very simple tattoo and no one wanted to do it (dandelion tattoo behind ear or a small finger tattoo) So I canceled my appointment and wanted to use my deposit towards my mother's piercing. Got flack for that too :/ Not very professional or customer oriented at ALL. I will not be back. Studio was at least very clean and followed good COVID restrictions and person who pierced was fabulous.
