I've been to my share of tattoo parlors in my 18 years of getting them. I was skeptical when I saw a promo after new years and decided what the heck, it's been a while. I took a trip down to get a quote and after speaking with Joel I instantly felt comfortable. All the staff are extremely approachable and great conversationalists. I've been in 3 times now and every time I am blown away by the quality and price. I have spent hours in a chair and layed out laughing and talking with Joel and the other artists. Since I've been my family started going there as well and I've felt very comfortable giving out cards and recommendations. This isn't just a great studio filled with incredibly talented people. It's a place to see one of a kind permanent pieces of art take form. I cant promote this business enough as I'm constantly blown away by the amazing pieces I get the benefit of seeing through facebook. I cant wait to be able to book my next session with Joel.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They rescheduled me multiple times for over a week and then when I tried to get a new date for my appointment they never returned my calls or texts. Very unprofessional and very rude. Finally I gave up and called Grim City Tattoo club and they scheduled me right away.

Love most of the artists and their work but the way this shop is run just irks me. Owner is very nice but doesn’t seem like she knows much about tattooing or the industry. Also, leaving reviews on your own business page? Seems shady.

Nadia does my hair. She did an awesome job on the ombre colours I requested and she was a delightful person to talk to the whole 4 hrs I was there. Costs are very reasonable. She charged 150 for colour cut and style.

(It should be noted that Justine no longer works here, and now has a salon called 'Colour Theory') I was recommended to get my hair done by Justine by one of her previous customers and I very much regret ever considering her. I looked at her previous work in pictures and saw that she had obtained the very colour I wanted previously on another person, so I decided that yes I would go with her. Unfortunately Justine lied to me, first telling me she would be using high lift colours and then not using them. Then she told me later on after I had left with a colour I did not ask for, that she knew the entire time I could not get the colour I wanted without pre lightening, which, while I was in the salon she said I could as my hair was Virgin hair. After this, she proceeded to post edited pictures of my hair, lie to her boss saying we had a consultation before hand where I agreed to get my hair dyed without lightening, and deny lying all together. After posting a facebook post detailing my experience, she proceeded to lie more saying that I had Recieved a full refund (which I did not). On top of all this, her boyfriend proceeded to post derogatory comments towards me. Honestly save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else to get your hair done.

So I posted this review on their facebook page, but they got hot and bothered and blocked me because I gave them one star. Now nobody can see my review. Because I guess that's the level of professionalism we're dealing with here, (First red flag alert!!!) But can't delete google reviews haha. Went in like a month and a half ago, for a tiny tattoo, and a tattoo of my mother's handwriting as a memorial. Big mistake. Had to go back again a less than 2 weeks ago just to get a small heart on my wrist touched up, because it was so blotchy you couldn't even tell what it was. After the touch up it still wasn't up to par of what it should be, and now they want me to come in for a THIRD time, to "fix" a tattoo that should have been done right the first time. Now onto my mum's memorial tattoo. The line work is so messy and uneven that I dont even want it on my body anymore. I am ashamed that this is what I have to remember my mum by, this is a tattoo that was supposed to have so much meaning and love put into it.. All meaning of this tattoo is gone for me now. Even my dad teared up when he saw how bad it was done, and how it doesn't even look like her writing, take in, he hasn't showed emotion like that since she died 17 years ago. Now onto pricing, you would think that someone who is charging more than all the original artists would have amazing work compared to the artists that would have been working there for years, wouldn't you? Not at Rockstar. Not at all. And when you complain that's another story, and not a fun one. Long story short, I would warn everyone to stay far away from this place, seeing as this is the kind of service you get from "Hamilton's best tattoo shop, the name they have proudly given themselves. Will not return and I advise anyone who values their skin not to go here. Find someone who truly cares about the work they do, not a place where theyre only in it to make a quick dollar.

If you are going to get a tattoo here do a thorough search on the artist you get. I got a tattoo done yesterday and it is awful. Was not given a choice on the artist. The lines don't connect and was rushed (they took 20 minutes) it looks like it was done in someones basement. I know quite a few of the artists there do an amazing job I guess I just got someone who couldn't be bothered.

I messaged one of their artists for an appointment and she ignored me for a month. When i messaged the shop asking if they were taking clients she messaged back and continued to lie about her availability etc. Very unprofessional and veey disappointed. Will not recommend to anyone since they refuse to make appointments for new clients????

Had a tattoo done here by the artist matt. I went in with a rough idea of what I wanted and he perfected it and did the tattood it on my arm. He was very polite and gave me a rundown about after care that was simple and concise. I was very happy with both the art I got, and the service while I was there. I recommend Rockstar tattoo for newbies and veterans alike. Will definitely be coming back for my next tattoo.
