Had an appointment for noon last Friday (July 30) with Tyler Mansey. I arrived just after 11:30am and they were very accommodating; I waited less than 10 minutes while filling out the online consent form. Although it was my first time at Grey Harbour, it wasn’t my first time being tattooed by Tyler (the plan is to get my entire left sleeve done by him). Tyler was professional and thorough from start to finish, and this piece only took about four hours to complete! I’m super happy with how it turned out and I obviously will be going back to him for more. The vibes at Grey Harbour were chill, I would definitely recommend going here if any of its artists suits your tattoo style!

I had messaged Tyler on Instagram asking for a custom tattoo in memory of my grandparents, he told me before I paid the deposit that he could do what I wanted, but after I paid the deposit he told me he couldn't give me what I wanted and that I would have to sacrifice most of the things that I wanted for the tattoo even after I had changed my idea so that he would be comfortable fitting what I wanted into it. When he said he couldn't do it I searched for another tattoo artist and they did it would be easy to fit what I wanted into a tattoo, so I cancelled with Tyler. I then messaged him a couple days later and asked if I could use the deposit for another tattoo by him (because I enjoy his style) and he said I would have to pay another deposit to book with him again. I still think that he is a great tattoo artist but after interacting with him I am slightly upset that he earned $100 just for telling me that he couldn't do what he originally was ok with. I feel slightly scammed because of the way things were handled.

Just had some work done by Mr Nick “Sparrow Hands” Capretta. Not only is this dude hella talented, he’s professional, and down to earth, truly an artist worth one’s salt. One of the best tattoo experiences based on the conversations alone, the sweet art is a plus. The environment of the shop is really nice, and doesn’t insists upon itself. Nice people, cool tunes and very clean. COVID protocols are tightly in place and everyone was masked up. Again thanks to Nick for giving me this wicked piece on such short notice. 10/10. J

Tyler was recommended to me for my first tattoo by a family member. I now have a large collection of pieces by him, ranging from black and grey to full colour, and smaller custom gap-fillers to pre-drawn large tattoos and even full sleeve projects. His work is high-quality and clean, and he has a fantastic sense of what makes a great tattoo-- taking my (often strange!) ideas and molding them into true works of art. He also has an incredible collection of pre-drawn "up for grabs" pieces, and communication/appt booking is quick. He is great to work with on both small and large projects, and I can't wait to be back for more! I frequently receive compliments on my tattoos, and I am always pleased to take those opportunities to recommend Tyler and all of the artists at Grey Harbour to anyone looking for quality work.

I recently spent my birthday at Grey Harbor with Tyler Mansey and I could not give higher praise to all involved! Immediately upon walking in the studio is STUNNING! Clean, organized, and decorated in gorgeous art that showcases each artists taste and somehow also flows together beautifully! From the front desk to the booth and back everyone was so kind and funny. The shop banter was hilarious and so friendly, you can tell they are a big family. Tyler took his time to get placement settled and prepare me for a wholeeee bunch of lines, he checked in with me throughout the piece and kept me calm and distracted with conversation and tidbits of his life story, all while helping out other artists. Tylers line work is, for lack of a better word, insane. He is so talented and brings so much life into pieces. I went to see Nick for a Cardinal piece for my mom. I have nothing but absolutely positive things to say. Nick took his time and had me come in to fit the stencil to make sure everything was spot on. I came in the weekend after to have it tattooed. Nick sent me 2 drawings and showed me each night before my appointment. He is attentive, professional and very honest (which I appreciate). Ive never had an artist be so thoughtful as to placing a piece to make sure its just right (body movement, distortion) so im very appreciative Nick was so mindful of this. Going to Grey Harbour makes me not want to visit any other shop in Hamilton after seeing how beautiful my arm looks. I sat with Tom, for a portrait of my cat, who passed last year. He was super easy to communicate with through email and very accommodating when I needed to reschedule my appointment. He captured Crowley perfectly and I am so in love with this tattoo. Even though it was on my hand, he was super gentle and I was able to sit still, which says a lot because I squirm when getting tattooed. 100% will return to the shop for more work.
